Came in for a quick drink and found $ 1 oysters on happy hour. Yum! $ 5 drink specials too until 6:30.

Will be returning! Started off at the bar with a couple of tasty cocktails. Decided to relocate to the dinning room area for a full sit down dinner. Our server Crystal was on top of everything and helped us pick out what would make our experience that much better. Couldn’t have been more happy with the food. We ordered the seafood plate special which was awesome and the delicious Mahi Mahi. Ended the meal with the house made crème brûlée.

Phenomenal oysters, make sure you sit at the bar with Adriana as she is one of the best most personable bartenders I have experienced!

Complete waste of money. All the chairs, dishes, and silverware were different. Everything was dirty and falling apart. Food was below average. I wish I didn’t spend my money here, because they obviously do not put any of it back into the restaurant. Absolutely horrible.

Started off planning to go to Osteria Panevino but they were full. They offered to walk us to this restaurant(owned by the same person) and a free appetizer so we said sure! The hostess walked us 2 blocks to this restaurant. She didn’t say anything about the free appetizer and we had to ask twice and they offered us fried calamari. We also got a shrimp tempura roll(don’t ask but my friend wanted some sushi). I got the angel hair shrimp pasta and she got the lobster ravoli. The sushi roll was seriously not good but what do you expect when you order sushi in an italian restaurant? service = attentive; they refilled water several times and took empty plates asap food = italian food was good; not too sure about everything else price = felt it was a little pricey and didn’t get my moneys worth

Fabulous atmosphere and phenomenal food that was enjoyed fully. We were seated quickly and with a smile. Our waiter Daniele was curtious, friendly and attentive. A suggested wine was excellent while we waited at the bar before going to our table. Love this place will recommend to others!

We enjoyed our dinner here. Daniel was very attentive and made our experience wonderful. The mahi mahi was amazing and the sushi was very fresh. We will definitely be back!

It has been years since I’ve visited this restaurant. We happens to have an event across the street and stopped by for a bite. The service was good however the food was underwhelming to say the least. Not one of the 4 items we ordered was enjoyable. If the price was cut in half the food would have just been ok. Food was overpriced and not great. I would go somewhere else.

My bridesmaids brought me here for a bachelorette dinner before we hit the DT clubs. I loved the ambiance. They had live singers as you enter and it’s very well decorated. As you go up stairs you could just tell that this is an upscale restaurant. Even the workers are very nice. For such a upscale restaurant id expect the food to be a lot better. I had ordered the pasta with tomatoes and shrimp. I didn’t like the tomatoes because they were small whole tomatoes. I wish they’d dice them so some flavor would absorb into the pasta. The sauce was bland. I even tried the Chesapeake crab cake starter. The portion was big but it was bland as well. They only have one restroom and that is upstairs, it’s only a single stall as well.

Very beautiful ambience. A place to go with close friends and family. Or your boo… Lol Came here for a dinner and we got seated up stairs next to the window and it was very pleasant. It’s dim and perfect to have an intimate dinner with people. Looking over downtown was nice and made me very appreciative of SD. Our server was very sweet and I could tell it was all servers that were nice and helpful. I got a pasta plate and shared it with my friend and when they gave us our plate they had split it into two plates for us! It was very nice of them to do because most restaurants make you share off one plate or they charge extra for it. Our server took the initiative to split it for us(: thank you sir! Our pasta was good. It wasn’t the best I have ever had but the ambience made me enjoy it a bit more. Like I said, the décor makes up for the food for sure and it’s worth a place to go to for a dinner and some chit chat time! They had good live music down stairs as well and a bar area. This place is fun! When we went down stairs they singers were fun and connected to those in the restaurant and made everyone engage with one another. I would say come give this place a try!

So, yes, we are foodies and we have high expectations. BUT… You’d thumb for a place that presents as classy as this, our experience would’ve been better. Atmosphere is nice. Service friendly. But the food is way over priced. The presentation was really good but the flavor and quality is less than to be desired. Lobster bisque was salty. Steak and Sea Bass undercooked. And I’m sorry, but the surf and turf was $ 95.00, which the price is not disclosed, and it certainly was not reflected in the taste. Just feeling a bit bummed about our choice, especially when we get so few opportunities to be away from the kids. Sorry Osetra.

We have a beautiful evening as Osetra with a large group. The restaurant is two stories and boasts the wine angels for those who like a wow factor. It got quite loud on this busy Friday night, definitely the place to be in San Diego. The service from start to finish outstanding. We split a burrata, basil and arugula salad which was a generous portion, the waiter intuitively offered to split the salad, which we appreciated. Each person at the table also got a seafood sampler appetizer with a delicious crab cake, scallop and shrimp. I ordered the lobster and shrimp special. The lobster wasn’t the best I’ve had, the mashed potatoes were delicious. My husband’s stuffed sole was phenomenal. Spicy, sweet, delicate, and spectacular. A must do here! We then shared the dessert samplers amongst the table. All were incredible. The mousse was the standout winner in my mind but there was fierce competition amongst all of them.

Really excellent food/service. The burrata in the Burrata salad was huge, certainly large enough to share. Very good. Tuna– seldom do you see tuna this deep red in color. One of the better pieces on fish I’ve ever had. Sole– another excellent piece of fish… cooked perfect. Great wine list.

Very classy décor, dim lights and little candles on the tables. Very romantic. I had mozzarella appetizer and ahi tuna as a main course. I really loved every bit of that tuna stake. The only down part the place is very pricy. My tuna was 36. Otherwise great food and atmosphere. Very attentive service.

Standard fine dining. Which is to say nicely engineered fancy food that was served with attentive and detailed attention to detail… but it was not anything remarkable in terms of flavors or quality. Perfectly good. They have a nice romantic setting and everyone always loves the«wine angels»(young ladies suspended by the above ground wine cellar picking out wines while wearing white wings. I had the lobster bisque(solid) and the seared ahi(appropriately cool but fairly bland, served with good miso mashed potatoes). The dessert(almond/pear pie with side of ice cream) was the one thing that stood out to me as particularly special… it was not too sweet but delicious and rich and perfectly balanced by the vanilla ice cream, I definitely enjoyed that. A reasonable option to consider for fine dining in San Diego but the desserts were the only real standout in my opinion.

Ostera gave excellent service. Steven our server was so warm and friendly and took time to really make sure we were taken care of. The salmon special I ordered was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. My husband had the mahi-mahi and he ate every bite of it. The tiramisu was absolutely my favorite and I am super picky on tiramisu since I’ve worked in culinary colleges and a big foodie and writer. The ambiance was very good as well. I loved sitting on the second floor and having dinner it was very romantic.

Osetra The Fishhouse is an amazing Resturant in San Diego. Downtown is the Gaslamp. When you enter the Resturant has soft modern lighting. With a cool modern vibe. The staff is attractive, friendly and attentive. Karina the General Manager is so professional, attentive, knowledgeable and gracious. Love the food and drinks. Crab cakes, tuna and pasta. Everything on the menu is wonderful. Great great place for a date night, group or just because. Love this place.

I was literally craving for hot and spicy miso soup Friday night but RaSushi was closed for good. I was so sad! But this gorgeous restaurant made my TGIF! OhmyGawd!!! I love fancy nancy dining!!! Romantic atmosphere and no kiddos hell yeah! Seriously this restaurant is sophisticated, cozy, savvy ;)wow! It’s a gorgeous upscale seafood restaurant in Gaslamp Quarter. And the Only wine tower in all of California with a wine angel. This fish house has a very classy taste. Our server Steven was super nice. We started off with a sparking water $ 7, and a complimentary freshly bread and butter. We ordered Reisling $ 14 and hubby had Chardonnay $ 15. They have a live music playing at the wine bar. It was a night of TGIF night and relaxation while sipping our wines. Food– I ordered Parmesan calamari and baby shrimp $ 16 with marinara chipotle and aioli and lobster bisque $ 14 hmmmm with tobiko Caviar crème fraîche. It was heavenly delish! Hubby ordered Raw oysters $ 16(he’s a oysters monsters lol! Half dozen with mignonette sauce, cocktaill sauce. It was bomb he said since I don’t eat oysters. Salad $ 12, the Ruby red grapefruit & beet salad was the best! With arugula, fennel caramelized walnuts, Gorgonzola, blood orange vinaigrette it was good! And our shared Entrée northern Atlantic salmon $ 31 — pan seared with spinach risotto julienne carrots, lemon dill beurre blanc. It was perfection! Overall dining was spectacular. we enjoyed our intimate and quiet(no kids) TGIF. It was a very delightful dinner. Classy ambience, romantic date lol! So if you’re in the mood for a wine & dine or a TGIF night of relaxation this is the place. Highly recommended. They also have a happy hour daily from 4−6pm. You’ll have fun dining with live music and the gorgeous wine angel . Hands down! Ahhmazing seafood. Great Menu pasta, steak & seafood, & handcrafted cocktails, Definitely coming back! Okay time to party at the Gaslamp quarter yay!

High(er) end fish place in a white tabled cloth setting, but in the end you’re overpaying Gaslamp tourist prices for a good, but not extraordinary, product. Decent menu options from Northern Atlantic Salmon to Chilean Sea Bass and your standard steak and chicken offerings for those who aren’t into sea creatures. The stuffed sole was tasty but the bed of ratatouille mashed potatoes it was served in stood out more than the fish. Oddly, we were automatically charged 18% gratuity for a party of 5. Further cementing the tourist vibe, a photographer interrupted our dinner to take a couple of photos«on the house» and then walled us off on our way out to hand us our free photo post card AND upsell us on a nicer framed version. The sell was sorta pushy and I surrendered $ 15 to get out of there. For $ 35 — 40 a plate you wouldn’t expect the Old Town routine. For the price and hassle, I’d recommend skipping Osetra and opting for Water Grill instead. It’s going to be the same price but the experience will be more enjoyable and less gimmicky.

20 bucks per oz! I ordered the 6 oz Japanese Wagyu steak with the lobster mash and it was good! The food was great but the price was expensive but hey what do you expect to pay for a great steak! This place has a upstairs and down stairs with a live band! The atmosphere here is pretty cool! It’s pretty darn loud here tonight so if you looking to have that candle light quite night, this is not the place! There’s so much to choose at this place. Highly recommended

A bit over-hyped. I went here with a group of docs attending a medical conference. We were sat in a corner booth with an extra chair for the 11th guy(me.) The company was great and that, along with the fact that we were at a conference in San Diego, counterbalanced the lackluster service. We were seated in a semi-circle and while talking across the table with each other, our waiter would interpose himself to refill water glasses, etc. No «excuse me» or anything was ever offered as he awkwardly blocked ongoing conversations mid-sentence. Other than that, he was ok but less attentive and polite than what you would expect at a fine dining establishment. The food was decent, but I wasn’t blown away. As I stated, this place was hyped to be one of the best, if not the best, place for seafood in the Gaslamp quarter. I did not find that to be the case. I started off with the Grilled Octopus. I was going to go with some caviar, but was talked into the octopus instead. Mistake #1. I realize how hard it is to get octopus done correctly, but this was on the«elastic waistband» side of consistency. I tried the Local Ahi Tuna next(again, it was recommended to me.) It was good, but not outstanding. The Japanese Wagyu Beef was the best part of the meal, but at $ 20/oz, there was a bit of ‘buyer’s remorse’ which was soothed only by a glass or two of single malt. Near the end of our meal, a photographer offered to take our photo. A «memory» for us, she said. She then proceeded to snap a few shots and later returned with the photos in some cardboard frames which she then tried to sell. Not an auspicious end to the meal, to say the least. I took a few photos with my phone and got the same effect for free… Good. Not great or outstanding, but good. Maybe we hit upon a bad night, but our group was not overly impressed.
