Update when did our fun neighborhood hangout become a bar of near naked bartenders? Seems like owner wants to make this another one of his strip joints. Disappointed again.

Well said Summer! This place used to be the best until about 4 or 5 months ago. The old bartenders really made the place ! Laura, Tracy, April, they all were amazing ! We absolutely LOVEDCINDY!!! She was super funny and friendly and had a way of making us feel at home every time we walked through the door. Oh, and she really knew her $#%& behind the bar! Now we won’t set foot in the place unless Tracy is working — thank god they kept 1 good one! Krista is great too but she is rarely there. «Cleaning house was by far the worst business decision ever! Saving a ton of money now though since we arent spending it all at pal joeys anymore!

Awesome local bar, we feel so comfortable here. Drinks are reasonable bartenders are friendly, everyone who works here could not be nicer. They make you feel at home. Mens bathroom clean and fully stocked and have been so on all 4 times I have been here. I do come to see Theo and The ZYDECOPATROL, they are so good will be back every time they come here its my favorite bar to see the band

Was invited here by a friend for a drink. Gotta say that I am always suspicious about bars in strip malls, but this one really exceeded my expectations. Friendly service, nice clean establishment, and live music. Looks like a great local bar!

Cindi is no longer here. Not at all happy about it. Scres Peter. Not giving him any more if my bucks.

This is my FAVORITE neighborhood waterin’ hole for sports watchin’!! The staff is superly friendly and make great drinks — Sarah and April ROCK! Also, the best part is that you may bring food in=)

Ok let me start out with its a locals bar. If your not from A. G or Del Cerro maybe even San Carlos you won’t now anyone. Who’s cares it’s a nice crowd. Great deals on drinks there’s two pool tables. Everynight is something different. There’s karaōke, games on, live bands, Mike the owner also does car shows. Great place to be, I used to call it home. Just moved away from A. G anyhow it’s the spot I highly recommend if you want to chill be able to chit Chat and have a good time.

I have a very broad point of reference when it comes to bars with live music. The high star rating derives from total satisfaction on several key elements: cleanliness, hospitality, comfort, serving’s size and music quality. Add easy access and parking, safety in surroundings, and security within the locale and you have the ideal music/dance spot for your weekends. The sound quality, acoustics and volume are favorable, and the dance floor is large enough in relation to the total square footage and crowd size. Bathrooms are always well-maintained and the décor is itself a photographic museum. Finally, the pool tables and shuffleboard game are in proper condition at all times. If you can’t find a good time here you’re not looking. It’s a friendly bunch and quite eclectic, but always pleasant good rocking and rolling fun.

Maybe I went on a bad night, but this place was okay. I’d never recommend it to anyone. The bartender that helped me was very sweet. She was probably the only reason I’d go back. I didn’t know there was an entry fee because I didn’t see it posted on the website, so I was two dollars short cash so I had to use the ATM. Doorman was an ass about the whole thing. The patrons were kinda unfriendly that night… maybe I just picked a bad night.

My APA pool team switched our home bar here this season — what an improvement over our last location! Sarah, the manager, really takes care of us. I really can’t say enough good things about this bar.

The service is horrible. Even when there are a couple of people working behind the bar, it takes forever to get a drink, regardless of how busy it is. The staff is more interested in chatting with each other or the regulars, so as to make the casual customer feel unwelcome.

Live music, cheap drinks, fun people, cheap drinks, close to my friends house, cheap drinks, great bartenders, cheap drinks, occasional karaōke, cheap drinks, dancing, cheap drinks, Cindi’s pineapple upside down shots, crazy laughing girls, cheap drinks… but I mostly come here for the stimulating conversation. Ask Laura D. About the cabbage incident. That little prize escaped her forever. Sigh. Cheap drinks ;-)

You’d never know the fun that can be had here by looking at the outside of this bar. Everyone is very friendly(some are extremely friendly) and the bartenders are awesome. Cindy is AMAZING! The drink prices are very reasonable and the live band is so much fun. As another reviewer mentioned, they accept all credit cards, including Amex.

This place is great. To be honest I wasn’t expecting too much of it considering it is in a calm neighborhood but wow I was amazed. Calm neighborhood brings chill people. The bartender Cindy is amazing! If you’re looking to have some drinks after a long day of work or just relax and have a good time this is the place to be. The keriokie is a great plus!

Nice dive bar with a couple of pool tables and table shuffleboard. Little bit of a older crowd. But a nice atmosphere, the place is clean and so are the restrooms. And the staff are very nice and friendly. The bar is much bigger then the outside would suggest.

Absolutely love this bar. My boyfriend and I live close and go often. Good people and vibes. Definitely don’t come here expecting to spend more like $ 30 tops. Strong drinks! Monday happy hour $ 2.50 cocktails. Every night it’s something else. Stop by and experience all that is Pal Joeys Update! Although I still like this bar, we don’t go as often… When I do, I don’t feel as «at home» as I used to. Though, whenever Cindy tends the bar she ALWAYS makes me and whoever I’m with, feel like we were just in there the day before! She’s gotta be the best bartender they have. The manager is rely sweet too, she remembers faces really well :-)

It’s a fun & interesting little dive bar. There are most certainly the regulars. And everyone and the staff are really friendly. The place is clean and tidy. There is a live band as well. It’s an older crowd. You can stop by the taco shop next door, El Rodeo Taco Shop, and order food.

If you don’t like purple, do not come here! Once they changed owners, the place got a lot more«colorful»(Meaning the décor not the customers) and bright. Fun bar, good times, never super packed so you can enjoy yourself and not wait long for your drinks. Haven’t been in a few months but last time i was there, Natural Ice Light was on tap and they had one on each side. Seriously? Waring Road isn’t in Lakeside or Santee people =)

Wonderful steak dinner, only available on Monday nights after 5:30pm. I had seen the ads for this and finally got the H to take me here. You see the bar when you first walk in, then at the back there are tables. The cook, BBQ Bill, comes over and takes your order, maybe even sits down with you to chat a bit. It’s cash only since the dinner is separate from the bar tab. For $ 7.95 you get a good size steak grilled to perfection out back, a side of «spicy beans»(they had a nice kick but didn’t set my mouth on fire, real good flavor) cooked in a pot, and a nice Cole slaw, plus a roll. Not bad for $ 7.25! We each got a beer to go with it and really enjoyed our meal. The crowd was enthusiastic, especially due to the football game playing, but not overbearing. We will definitely be back for more. On a side note, Bill is going in for surgery and will be out for a few weeks. He was training a replacement, his«apprentice» he said, to carry on in his absence. We wish him the best outcome possible and hope to see him again soon.
