Amazing sushi! I have tried pretty much every sushi place in PB and this is my favorite. Great atmosphere and good food.

The worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life. Not only did we wait for 45 minutes while our friends ate(and then proceed to leave because the finished their meal), but the manager went on to say that they didn’t «have» to do anything about it. The waitress forgot our order multiple times and when we asked to speak with a manager, that also took almost 30 minutes. We were then charged an 18% gratuity. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 10 years and this was easily the worst I’ve ever seen. Never going back again.

Some of the worst service I have ever had, items not brought to table but tried to be charged for, I actually had go to to the waitress station and grab water for my table cause no one came and checked on use. And 1 of the girls spilled a glass of water on me and couldn’t even say sorry then just left the mess on the floor next to us .and walked away

If you have celiac/gluten intolerant do NOT go here. They have GF soy sauce and seemed confident on the phone so my husband and I came here on vacation and it was a terrible experience. When we sat down we asked for a GF menu and the waitress told us she didn’t have one but to order plain fish. She then said I could have anything except a tempura roll. Still not accurate because imitation crab is a big no-no. She then said just be sure not to have any rice. She basically knew absolutely nothing about GF, I even requested a different server or a manager and she insisted she could help us. So we decided not to eat there and left. Instead we went to Sushi Attack Fish House off Clairemont. We received exceptional customer service and they were very knowledgeable about GF and even use real crab.

This was truly the worst sushi restaurant in Pacific Beach. I bought for $ 5 sushi for takeaway. When I arrived home and open the box I feel deceived. There where just two pieces of salmon with rice underneath.

I don’t know what it is about sushi in California, but I’ve never had great sushi any time I’ve visited the area. When I came here last weekend, any food they served, I just kept asking myself why is the food so big? The sushi here is some of the largest I’ve seen, picture a standard sushi roll on steroids. My boyfriend and I shared edamame, 2 of their signature rolls(I’ve forgotten the names), some sushi and sashimi. The rolls themselves are 6 – 8 pieces, but he portion size of these pieces is huge. I guess it’s a good value for the price, some people like large portions for the price they pay, but quality is just as important to me as quantity. The 2 signature rolls we ordered seemed to be drowning in oil and/or sauce, overbearing to the rest of the features of the roll. The fish portions for the sashimi and sushi were gigantic, these were nearly larger than bite size portion, it seemed very unnatural and uncomfortable eating it. The options of signature rolls also seems limited. Yes there is a long list of options, but reading the descriptions of all these rolls, there is minimal variation. Too much«imitation crab» going on. I know crab meat in sushi is imitation crab, but simply reading the description«imitation crab» immediately puts a bad taste in my mouth. This place does have good service, I like how all the servers work together, I like that I can understand what they’re saying, and they’re attentive. I also noticed that all the tables were given free salmon tempura, which was pretty good. Though I’m always skeptical of free food, especially fried fish, just makes me think that it’s old fish they’re trying to get rid of. I love sushi, and I love to eat, I also enjoy eating a large amount of sushi, but the size of each piece of food here just did not make sense to me in all my experiences of eating sushi.

It is the first time that i try sushi in my life. One of my friend took me here and i really like sushi. We ordered edemame, fire fire and vegas. I am in love with them. They are really delicious. Also it is cheaper than that of in gaslamb quarter. You should go and try. I am looking forward to going again.

Atmosphere is lively. Wait staff was friendly but there was only 1 server for about 25 customers sitting at tables in the extended room addition area

Service was fast and the food was delicious. Pricey from what I’m used too. But the location and place was clean fun and would love to go back.

This is my favorite sushi place in PB hands down. The fish is always fresh, the rolls aren’t over priced, happy hour is until 7pm, and they change their menu often enough to keep us coming back. They also have really good happy hour deals during the week: $ 1 saki bombs on Monday, Oyster specials when they are in season, special rolls and draft beer discounts. There is one roll on the menu that comes with very thin slices of lemon on top. I can’t remember what it is called but oh my gosh it is delicious. The slice of lemon on top is what makes it so good. Actually the first time we ordered it the roll came with lime instead of lemon, I kind of think that was the best, but it’s still damn good with lemon. Finally, the sushi chefs at this place are the nicest. We don’t go here that often but it’s really nice that when we do they always seem to remember us.

I came here with a friend during happy hour and although I did not order any sushi this time, I ordered the garlic edamame(not on the happy hour menu). For $ 6, they were okay. The service was very good and the food was quickly made. I would like to come back here to see what the hype is about!

This place is really good. I got the spicy chicken entrée and they gave me sooooooo much food. My partner got Vegas roll which she loved too. The service was great, place was clean, and they have great specials for happy hour. Got a sapporo beer for 3 bucks! Would recommend this place to anyone.

I have never been so humiliated in my life !!! This is outrageous I’ve been asked to leave the place with my service dog after showing them her card !!! Not only this is for customer service and discrimination this is a blunt disrespect for The law !!!

There’s a lot of sushi joints on this street, one on every block it seems, but PB Sushi is by far my favorite. They have great happy hour specials and great sushi. I’m not too big on rolls(I’m more into sashimi and nigiri, I like it raw) but they have some very creative rolls. The Ceviche Royale roll is pretty bomb. It has shrimp ceviche smothered on a regular Cali roll with a spicy sauce. It has a Mexican kick to it. The sake bombs during happy hour are a dollar so you can get buzzed with 5 bucks!

I decided to come here for lunch after leaving PB Mika sushi before ordering since they did not have any air conditioning and it was 90 degrees outside. To my relief PB sushi was across the street and was nice and cool inside. Me and my friend were promptly seated and our drink orders were taken. The sushi was 20% during happy hour and we ordered 3 rolls. The fish was fresh and the vegetarian roll was quite refreshing. However, one of the rolls was unfortunately drenched in spicy mayo and completely overpowered the whole roll. I’ll definitely return but will ask for them to go light on the mayo next time.

Good happy hour sushi rolls deals(20% off) and $ 3 Sapporo/Kirin. PB sushi kind of reminds me of Sushi Deli of PB. Sushi Deli is of course cheaper. The rolls here were made very well as in attention to detail and had good unique flavors and rolls. The fish however wasn’t the best cut but wasn’t as bad as sushi deli. Like we got a roll with salmon on it and the salmon had a lot of fatty parts and some parts hard to chew. Rolls we ordered: –Ceviche roll: wasn’t expecting it, I think it had too much going on. I didn’t taste limey as ceviche has line flavors –Rainbow roll: our go to roll, can never go wrong with a rainbow –Eel roll: not as much eel as I like it to be but good flavors –Sunset roll: yellowtail and some jalapeño, this was my favorite roll but I thought it needed more jalapeños –PB roll: my least favorite roll as it was bland with the yellowtail. Tasted like a bare sunset roll. –Pokie roll: salmon with spicy tuna, good flavors but salmon quality wasn’t the best I give props to PB sushi for all their different experiment with rolls. It was fun picking them out and they surely weren’t stingy on the fish or size of the rolls.

Definitely better than some other PB sushi options, although a little overpriced I thought. We did get $ 1 sake bombs, always a plus and the house sake was relatively cheap. They also have big tables on the patio, seems ideal for large groups! They got us right in on a Saturday night, a bonus in my book. I was a little puzzled by the roll pricing, it seemed rather random, and a little disappointed that fake crab was in almost every roll. I had the poke roll, it was great!

Solid sushi spot in a city filled with enough sushi options that I don’t feel bad about calling three stars for this place. Came here when there was no one in, so service was pretty prompt. Rolls were really expensive compared to the prices I’m used to, but at least they make up for it by making them pretty fat in terms of size. Fish was pretty fresh, but more or less standard fare that I would’ve expected from any other sushi restaurant that has [insert random name here] for a roll with [insert random fish combo here]. One roll + an appetizer was definitely enough for me. Overall, good enough to get the job done when I needed to satisfy a sushi craving. Don’t think I would come here if I was trying to be a sushi snob on that particular day lol.
