Amazing fresh pasta from scratch. Their menu is not extensive becasue they focus on what they do best and make it perfect. Not too pricey for the quantity and quality. I wish I could live here.

I was so incredibly impressed by this restaurant and its staff. I had my graduation party there, a total of 32 people and they were so accommodating and helpful. The restaurant itself is rather small so when my party number changed from 20 to 30+ I couldn’t believe they were still going to be able to take us. Giuseppe and Manuela were overwhelmingly charming and did a fantastic job catering to all of my family’s needs. They even allowed us to order a la carte which is usually unheard of with large parties. They also were kind enough to set the tables with place cards I had made according to assigned seating charts. They only allowed for four cards to be used per table and would not separate checks individually, but it mattered little. My family and I were so elated by how smoothly everything went considering. They also have an ATM machine on the premises, but the fee is the usual $ 3.95 or so, so I would suggest bringing cash IF you have more than four credit cards. Food was absolutely incredible as usual, the complimentary bread and dip was delicious, and they made sure to keep the $ 20 carafes flowing(god bless them). I had one of their specials which was a pasta with wild boar and truffle oil. YUM. But the rest of my family ordered myriad things from the menu and there were absolutely NO complaints. I love this place and was so happy that I could bring my family there, thank you Piacere Mio!!!

Best pasta in San Diego!!! If you love noodle shape pasta options, this is your place. You can mix and match various sauces with pasta. My fav is the traditional carbonara — so perfect. The ambience, wine and service is 100% upto the mark. A wonderful date night option! Would go here atleast 5 more times before leaving San Diego.

Ended up here because Buona F had a ridiculous line on a weekday night. Cute humble digs with no wait to satiate a super pregnant woman’s craving for good italian food. It’s been awhile since our visit but I recall the cute ambiance that would be great for a date night. Started with calamari. So yum! For main: Hubster loves lamb and got the Stinco di Agnello(22.95) Lamb Shank braised in a marinara sauce with veggies, red wine and saffron risotto. It was delicious and the lamb was fall off the bone. I tried the orecchiette con salsiccia(14.50) which was ear shaped pasta with sausage, rapini, fresh tomato with a white wine sauce and smoked mozzarella. The pasta was yum and fresh– texture a little like gnocchi. A bit on the salty side but I think that was the smoked mozzarella. Bread with lentils was memorable. Not a huge fan of lentils in olive oil. It was good olive oil though… ate so much bread. Service was fabulous and we just had a great experience overall. I would come back here if I were in the area. you can design your own pasta and try something new each time you come back. Prices are fair for dinner and portion. Definitely recommended. PS: For all you Target lovers. there is something called«Target express» across the street. I didn’t have a chance to visit but I have never seen a Target Express before! Definitely going to have to come back and check it out!

In My opinion this place is better than the competition. They are more friendly and the décor is lovely. The deserts are to die for and you just got to love the chef! This is a most try in San Diego and a great addition to the South Park community!

The bread and the service was amazing. The food not so great. The salad had way too much lemon and the pasta wasn’t cooked all the way. I’ve heard of Al dente but usually on request. Probably won’t be returning, which sucks because I really had high hopes for this place.

Loved the place. We had prosciutto and pesto pasta and bolognase; each were great. Price is quite reasonable as well. Prosciutto had amazingly soft mozzarella cheese in the middle. Definitely will recommend to friends.

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to check out Piacere Mio. After hearing great things from friends and fellow Unilocalers, I finally tried it out for dinner. The restaurant is modern but has a welcoming and homey vibe. The service is friendly and everyone makes you feel like your family. The food was delicious! All of their pastas are made fresh daily and you can taste the difference. My friend and I ordered the bruschetta, taglierini with nuziale, and eggplant ravioli and loved it all. I wasn’t sure about the nuziale sauce but the waitress let me try it out before ordering, which was really nice! Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous! If you’re looking for good italian food, I highly recommend this place. I’d say I even prefer it to some of the popular places in Little Italy,!!

Went there with some friends not seen since high school. So loud, impossible to talk. Loud. Loud. Loud. Food was good, but I just didn’t experience the same level of excitement as others. Service was good, if distracted. We had to wave our waiter down multiple times to get through the payment process.

I am a HUGE fan of Italian food, thus am always very skeptical of new places, but I was very very impressed by Piarce Mio! Its an adorable, more modern looking restaurant, I came here for lunch during the work week and was surprised by how full it was(not packed, but most tables were full), so I can only imagine this place is packed during the weekend dinner rush! The only thing I did not like was the eggplant appetizer, which is super sad for me because I LOVE eggplant and usually its one of my staples at Italian places, but it had too much ricotta mixture, not enough red sauce, and the eggplant was overly fried and bland. Other than that though, the food was delicious! They brought us out fresh, home made bread that was really warm and delicious, the pasta with the mixture of red and pesto sauce was amazingly tasty(although the color looks awful), and my friends got gnocchi with the white sauce which was really tasty, and I tried the mushroom cream sauce which was also really yummy! After we ate(I felt like I was eating a never ending bowl of pasta, portions are huge!), they even brought us out free dessert of cannolis and even though I was so full, I couldn’t help but eat some because it was really well made! Everyone I was with seemed to really like their food(minus the eggplant which no one liked) and the bill was really reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. Without a doubt I will definitely return!

Some of the best Italian food in San Diego I’ve had so far! My fiancé and I are always eager to come back. The location in South Park is a nice weekend get away from where we live. We were able to find parking in their lot even though there weren’t many spaces. We came for lunch on a Saturday and were seated promptly. The ambiance is very open concept with lots of natural light, wood, and hipster light bulbs. We’ve already visited twice and the waiters are always pretty attentive. I love how all the pastas are made in house here. Definitely props to using only the freshest pasta. 1st visit we ordered: –Start off with complimentary bread to top with lentils in olive oil– pretty good. Not the best complimentary bread I’ve had at an Italian restaurant though. –Meat stuffed ravioli with mushroom sauce(Ravioli di carne ai funghi) — Our favorite pasta dish so far. 5⁄5! The creamy mushroom sauce they use is perfection. The meat inside is a shredded texture, which I definitely prefer to a ground beef like texture. It makes the meat seem like it’s really real meat and not as processed. –proscuitto burrata– I’ve had burrata before and this one is pretty good, but not the best I’ve had in US. I’d say this is still one of our favorites dishes here. –spaghetti carbonara– pretty solid, but not as flavorful and unique as the ravioli funghi. –I realized our waiter had forgot the side salad or soup that was supposed to come with our lunch pastas, but that was after the fact, so that was a bit of a bummer. Even with this little mess up, we still wanted to come back though. 2nd visit: — The only new thing we tried on our 2nd visit was their Lasagne alla bolognese(lasagna). This was probably our least favorite dish so far. Nothing really made it stand out. I felt the proportions of cheese /pasta/meat were off and it wasn’t super flavorful. I felt like I was mostly eating layers of pasta with marinara sauce. I don’t plan to order this again. –side salad with lunch pasta dish– Average. I thought the dressing was a bit bitter and needs work. –Lentil soup– Average, wish there was another soup option 3rd visit: Orecheitte con salsicca– pretty good. Pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was pretty good. Zucchini soup– not a big fan Wish they STEPPEDUP their game on their soups. They’ve all tasted like watery baby food so far. :(They are too healthy tasting and need more seasoning. Portions– pretty decent. The ravioli portion was larger than most Italian restaurants, which was a big plus. When we go to Piatti’s Italian you only get like 4 – 8 ravioli pieces, so they definitely give you more than that here. Prices– Very reasonable for lunch. I’ve seen authentic Italian places serving up pasta dishes starting at about $ 16, so I think $ 10 – 13.50 for the quality we got was pretty reasonable in comparison. Overall, we are always eager to return here. I wouldn’t say this place is perfection, but it’s one of the best Italian places in San Diego in my opinion especially for the price point and freshness.

I loved it! We had a very good super Tuscan wine for a reasonable price. I had the veal and my husband had the lamb shank. Both were excellent! Prices are decent and the service was good. We will be back.

If you want to take your tastebuds on a journey through Italy this is the place to do so. Ambiance 5⁄5 The location is in the cutest-quaint town of South Park. The restaurant is on the corner and has street parking. Inside it is tastefully designed with rustic-modern-warm décor. Service 5⁄5 I am in love with the staff here! Everyone is so warm and friendly. Many are Italian Native and really create a fun experience for you. The staff does an excellent job here :) Food 5⁄5 WOW. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in ALL of San Diego! I have been here multiple times, tried a variety of dishes, and have left with a happy belly every single time! Their pasta is homemade in house and let me tell you it’s delicious. We have tried the calamari fritti, potato and octopus, cured beef, seafood salad and all have been extremely tasty. I highly recommend the calamari– it is the best I’ve probably ever had. Moving onto the main dishes… I have eaten the Lasagna Bolognese, spaghetti vongole, ravioli with eggplant in a blush sauce and a special with pappardelle and a short rib/mushroom ragù. Each dish is truly unique and has your tastebuds jumping for joy! Now don’t leave piacere mio without trying one of their many deserts. So far my favorite is tiramisu but I’m biased because this is my all time favorite desert. The crème brulle is also to die for. My meals here have been exquisite and I am so happy to have found such a wonderful Italian restaurant to dine out at!

I’ve been here twice. The first time was phenomenal. Second time, boy was I disappointed. It wasn’t busy and yet service was slow. Okay, I can deal. But now, the food takes 25 minutes to come out. Pasta is COLD. So they offer us a «complimentary» piece of cake. Except for the fact it was the same piece of cake that was delivered to the table next to us in which those customers complained it was the wrong one. So they threw it on our table. It wasn’t even good cake. So disappointing.

Been here a couple times now. Street parking is available in the neighborhood. Definitely suggest calling in a reservation. The first time we came without a reservation we waited close to 1.5 hours for a table for 3 on a Saturday night at 8pm. The second time we made a reservation for 7 on a Friday at 8pm and were seated immediately! Everything about this place is amazing — food, service, ambiance. Although it can get pretty loud inside so may not be a great place for a first date. The staff are very friendly and welcoming! Most have a lovely Italian accent. This is definitely one of the best Italian places in San Diego! — tagliatelle with bolognese sauce(4.5÷5). Such a tasty classic dish. The homemade pasta was cooked perfectly. Ordered a meatball on the side, didn’t love it! The bolognese sauce on its own is amazing. — ravioli al carne al funghi(5⁄5). MUSTORDER! Beef stuffed ravioli served with a very rich and creamy mushroom sauce. AH-MAZING! You can order house wines by the carafe, the Chianti was by far my favorite! Will definitely be back here again and again! Love this place!

I went there to celebrate my birthday with my daughter. We had a caprese; the heirloom tomato and balsamic dressing was delicious! We had Linguine alle vongole and spaghetti carbonara. Service was very nice, food portion is huge, pasta was al dente… But food was a tad too salty to our taste so 4 star. It might be perfect saltiness to others though. After note: i had a leftover soup i took home. it still tasted too salty and gave me a headache.

Fantastic find from start to finish. Loud but intimate at the same time, handmade and homemade with every meal, great service and presentation… the list goes on and on. Literally, nothing was bad. My favorite was possibly the eggplant ravioli but I was more than ecstatic with my squid ink seafood pasta. I found their complimentary lentil oil served with fresh bread quite interesting… I can’t wait to go back!

DIVINE. I love love LOVE Piacere Mio until the day that I die. Food is nothing short from amazing, service is always so good, and the ambience is wonderful. I’m going to keep this review as simple as I can get, because every time I come in to eat here, I always end up speechless throughout my meal because I cannot fathom how effin delicious it is. Last night, I ordered their risotto special and I think I died a little on the inside because it was so good. Unfortunately, they ran out of scallops that night so my scallops got subbed for shrimp, just as delicious. In the end, we got a free crème brûlée because we simply waited. Honestly, we didn’t wait long for anything at all, so I was shocked when they gave us free dessert but it was highly appreciated and the crème brûlée was airy, slightly whipped, and so AMAZING. Piacere Mio will always be my favorite neighbor Italian, I love you guys.

Everything about this place was amazing! My roommate and I were in town for the San Diego Half Marathon and needed to get a meal the night before the race. We knew we wanted Italian and searched for a couple of places on Unilocal and after calling a few, this was the one we settled on. It had a decent wait time(one hour), great pricing and it was rated well. We called and put our name on the waiting list and then left to the restaurant and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We ended up snagging a spot at the bar so we didn’t even have to wait a full hour. They brought us bread with oil and lentil beans which was delicious. We both got a glass of chianti which was filled pretty high and I’m totally okay with that. I ordered off of the«create your own pasta» menu and my roommate got one of the signature pastas. I ordered the taglierini with amatriciana sauce which was so tasty. I normally don’t like tomato sauce because it’s pretty bland to me, but this one stood out. My roommate got the orecchiette con salsiccia which was sooooo good. Both dishes were delicious but I actually wish I got the orecchiette con salsiccia! All the waiters are from Italy which is wonderful. You know an Italian restaurant is going to be good when everyone who works there originates from Italy. Piacere Mio is priced well, has a nice interior, tastes amazing, and is priced well. You really can’t beat it!

What’s not to love about this place? Great food, service and ambiance! Best Happy Hour prices. A generous glass of wine for just $ 3. and select appetizers for around $ 5. The soups are so so good. The other night, we had the most delicious Cream of Zucchini soup. The special of the night was Osso Bucco! This photo speaks for itself!

I’ve been here twice now, and both times I have not been disappointed. Firstly the interior is really cute, and the service is great. The owner will even come up to you once in a while to see how you’re doing. Love the mom/pop feel of the place. The food quality is fantastic. The potato and octopus is a must try appetizer! The octopus is never tough or chewy, and the potatoes have just the right amount of crunch. For entrees, we had the seafood papadelle(perfect tomato sauce that wasn’t overpowering, and lots of seafood), the risotto, salmon raviolis, and the eggplant raviolis. The salmon raviolis were a little fishy for my taste, but the eggplant ones were great. The ravioli sauces are very delicious and rich, so you may not be able to get through it all in once sitting. Try the panacotta for dessert! The honey on top is the perfect addition that just brings it all together. The pistachio icecream is also one of the best I’ve had — it really packs a lot of pistachio flavor, and they don’t skimp out on the nuts. As for the cannoli, I don’t think it’s worth $ 6.50 for one, but I love that they aren’t pre filled so the shell stays crunchy. Definitely would recommend this place to friends!

Visited Piacere Mio for a lunch date with one of my girlfriends during the week. We walked in and asked for corner table tucked in, in order to accommodate my friends baby stroller they were happy to do that for us. The place was quite busy for a weekday visit– but it was the Friday before Christmas so I can see why :) I started off by ordering a cappuccino– because what’s more Italiano than a great cappuccino?! I had originally planned on getting soup and salad but after seeing their menu I had a change of heart and ordered the Ravioli di Magro which is a Ravioli stuffed with spinach and topped with a tomato and pesto sauce. It’s priced at $ 12.00 and comes served with either soup or salad for lunch– a true incredible deal. The portion is pretty big for lunch– so I decided to take some home to my dad– he claimed it was ok(as per everything he ever eats– just ok, unless he makes it of course), he did however manage to eat all my leftovers! Ha. The great attentive service we received(at least until the very end when it came time to get our check) truly earns this place its stars. The Italian waiters were genuinely happy to be working here and truly passionate about their food, which makes it my type of place! Grande esperienza!
