The doctors are so friendly and patient to answer your questions. Especially the good customer service– Mimi is really patient and well-​organized! She has good sense of picking a perfect frame for you and won’t let you feel pushed. She always tries to find the best way to fit your insurance. Thank you, Mimi !

My husband needed to replace his glasses and he was specific about the brand of frame he wanted. After searching online for who carried that brand, we came across Plaza Optometry and thought we would try them out.
I have to say we have never been so impressed with customer service as we were with this optometrist. We were greeted when we walked in and helped by Mimi. She thoroughly explained different frame and lens options to us and patiently waited for us to decide what we thought would be best. My husband wears his glasses almost sixteen hours a day, virtually every day of the year, and so finding something that he would be comfortable with was really important (to both of us! :)
Mimi helped ensure that the frames and lenses we went home with were exactly what my husband wanted. She was wonderful about following up with the lab, asking that the order by rushed (since he was using a pair of back up glasses that were fifteen years old) and calling us to let us know about everything.

I was recommended to come here by my friend because I loved her glasses. Making an appointment is so easy and I really like the fact that they are open on Saturdays and a little later on the weekdays. I do feel like the workers get really frazzled if it gets super busy because it does. They have a ginormous selection of frames. I’ve only gone to 2 diff optometry locations and I really like this one the best because it’s pretty much to the point on what you’re getting. It’s a new year so I’m going to make an appointment to go see them soon!

I visit the store last Thursday. The employees are very nice, especially a tall girl named Mimi is very patient. After I took an eye exam, I took a long time to choose and decide a frame. She took care me ver well. I will recommend people to go there to buy glasses because great service + many product choices!

Great service! We walked in with no appointment, a bunch of frames from past trips to one of their other locations, and a prescription from Kaiser. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who did all the measuring, recommendation of lens types and ordering. Fast, efficient, open, and honest. I felt well cared for and I am glad I searched them out and went to them. They offer other services as well including eye exams and a great selection of frames. Selection combined with price make this an easy choice. Highly recommended!

First time coming here and brought my own frame. Yes, they try to sell you additional services but thats what all businesses do. Overall I am pleased with the doctor and my purchase. They could however update the equipment that is being used, it’s very outdated.

I bought these eye glasses and the lab just keeps making poor quality lenses for twice, not to mention the brand name frame is of low quality too. Even though they can not control the lab, unfortunately customer experience from my perspective is terrible hence 2 stars.

Mimi was great she took time to go through the different styles for my husband, daughter and son without feeling rushed! A great selection of new styles to choose from and accurate exam results I’m glad to have found a reliable source for all of my family’s eye care needs!

I’ve been going to Plaza Optometry for over 10 years. With their recent move to the bigger store, they are able to cater to so much more customers, and at a faster speed! I was there today, on a busy Saturday afternoon with no appointment. But within mins of walking in, I was greeted by a couple of staff members. Mimi was able to help me within 5 mins. She is awesome! I brought my filthy, totally bent out of shape eyeglasses, thinking that she was going to tell me too get a new pair. On the contrary, she helped me bend it back as much as she can. Then she took it apart and worked some MacGyver. Although my eyeglasses aren’t back at 100%, but it’s functional and in its best condition as it can be. Thank you Mimi!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Steven Yen since 2003. He and his staff (Fanny, Jan, and Mimi in particular) are very friendly and helpful. I never feel rushed and Dr. Yuen always takes time to explain and answer my questions. I receive great service and the hours are late too and never have problems making an appointment. Location is in Ranch 99 plaza (and now located in the front in a bigger space).

I originally came here a few months ago to get glasses for myself. WOW! What a selection! Not only do they have a huge variety of name brand glasses (hundreds and hundreds to choose from!!). But they have a huge range of glasses that have a nose bridge for flat Asian noses (haha you know what i mean) Mimi was awesome! She let me try on about 40 pairs of glasses and was very patient! She gave me honest information and helped me pick my new favorite glasses! Mimi has to be the best sales associate they have!
I was so in love with this place that I decided to bring my 7 year old daughter here. She saw Dr. Le and was fitted for Ortho-​K contacts (the ones you wear while you sleep to correct your vision) Not only was their price more reasonable than what I thought, they even offered me 10% off for paying in full! Dr. Le was very sweet and patient! She took her time with the exam and eased my daughters worries!
Overall, staff is professional, efficient. and provides great service! Thanks for being so awesome Plaza Optometry!

I found this store on the VSP website. Plaza optometry is located inside 99 ranch market in Kearny Mesa. We have come here a few times to get glasses for my young daughter. She is super picky and extremely shy and usually won’t even speak to strangers. But, she did well here. The beautiful and gentle Asian ladies that helped us were very respectful of my daughters feelings and guided her into finding the perfect pair of glasses.

I’ve been coming to this place for years. Usually I look for sunglasses. Because the price is pretty competitive. Now I need prescription glasses. I came here twice without making appointment. They were still able to accommodate me. The staffs and the doctor are pretty friendly. Definitely will come again when needing new glasses

Dr. Yuen is the best Optometrist I have ever been to. Very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Even though the prices are more expensive than other places, it is worth it because you are paying for great customer service, quality and trust. I have been to many corporate owned eyeglass places (Sears, jc penny and Lens Crafters) and they were terrible. I highly recommend him. I know many people go here for the ‘brands’ but they have good quality non-​name brand glasses that I have purchased for good prices.
