I passed by this boba shop a few times while visiting Ranch and they always had a crowd. I finally decided to stop by and check out the hype. This mom and pops shop is pretty small and only has room for to-go orders only. Their menu is confusing but the staff are very helpful. They give you the option of choosing your sweetness and ice levels, so I ordered the Grass Jelly Milk Tea Boba with 70% sweetness and light ice. They also offer a Pearl Milk Tea which has small boba. By the time my friend and I placed our orders, the line had multiplied! People were lining up to get their boba fix before they closed in 3 minutes(8:30PM). As I waited for my drink, I watched the son(?) prepare drinks for the customers. The milk tea was pre-made but was shaken with the ice and sweetener. One thing that STOODOUT was how he poured majority of the drink into the cup, scooped out the foamed and then filled the drink up to the brim! Most places take out the foam and just leave the empty space. The milk tea did NOT disappoint!!! It was cold and creamy with soft grass jelly and a strong tea flavor. I would definitely RECOMMEND!!! They also provide a generous amount of toppings for your drink! I’ll definitely be back for more drinks!!! SOOGOOD! Cons: –Closes early because it’s inside a mini mall –Parking is always terrible at this place so try to go during off peak hours! –They have a rush right before they close, even for a Monday night so go 10 minutes early! Pros: –Can’t go wrong with a CLASSIC Boba Milk Tea which has regular boba –Pearl Milk Tea has MINI boba –Customize your sweetness and ice levels –20 cent increase just for large instead of 50+cent increase like other places –They give you HELLA boba, around 35−40%!! –They use the 5 Star app, so you don’t have to shuffle around for your stamp card!

Picked up 2 milk teas for the first time: you can choose sweetness(100%, 70%, 50%, 30%, 0%) and ice(no ice/less ice). Boba=larger tapioca, Pearls=mini smaller size. Got 30% less ice jasmine and regular milk teas with boba: both are just right for us in sweetness, tapiocas are slightly sweet as well so that was accounted for. Chewy texture, milky flavors. If you like more milk forward than tea forward milk teas, this is definitely for you. I am not really a fan of the former, but this was decent. I do like the black tea version better than the jasmine greet tea. Staff were helpful, and service was fairly quick. They use Five Stars rewards program. credit card friendly.

There always seems to be a long line at this tea shop, which is located inside 99 ranch. I ordered a large boba milk tea and a large black tea macchiato for my boyfriend. This place is super busy and I can’t believe they ran out of boba already! It was only about 1pm and they said that if I wanted boba, it would take an hour to make… I saw them bring out something in metal containers, so I asked if I could I get that instead?! It was mini boba, which would be ready in 10 minutes, so I didn’t mind waiting to have something chewy in my drink. Service was okay– they workers tried their best to make the drinks as fast as they could. Our drinks were okay too, but they do give you a lot of chewy and sweet tasting boba though!

Under $ 5 for a medium yogurt green tea. Not bad! But, probably more worth it to get a large. Drinks aren’t watered down and you can actually taste the tea. Boba was chewy and aplenty! I had a ton left over after finishing the actual liquid portion of my drink. Their menu isn’t too vast nor too small, but I think they’re planning on rolling out more specialty drinks. Their menu is also on LCD screens and very easy to read. You have the option of adjusting your ice and sweetness level. Only downside to this boba tea place is that it’s inside the 99 Ranch, therefore, it’s located along the long stretch of shops and restaurants at the front of the grocery store. This means no seating so expect to grab your drink to go. Workers were extra friendly and courteous and ordering was quick. I will definitely stop by again especially to try the rest of the menu.

I like my milk tea milky and sweet and this place definitely got that right. I like how you can control your sweetness and ice level! I got 70% sweetness and even that was a little too sweet for me. There are only two sizes(M and L) but the sizing difference is significant. You get almost ½ or 1⁄3 more than a Medium if you got a Large. One large milk tea(no boba) amounted to around $ 3.50! Location is located inside 99 Ranch and there is plenty of parking. I would say it’s a pretty good boba place and worth trying, but it wouldn’t exactly be my favorite and go to boba place.

I got their #1 boba milk tea at half sweet and I am sold! It was creamy and delicious. I got the grapefruit green tea at half sweet and it was good too! I saw them fill like half the cup with freshly squeezed grapefruit juice: D. Who can hate on fresh juice? The prices are about $ 3.99 for a large on most drinks, but the grapefruit ones cost more since they use fresh juice. Overall I see myself coming back here for their boba milk tea :)

Definitely a great experience overall! There is nothing more authentic and traditional in San Diego than OO Tea in terms of the grab-n-go beverage stands you can find in Taiwan night markets or on the streets. They’re conveniently located in the same complex as 99 Ranch Market, giving grocery shoppers an opportunity to enjoy a sweet ending to the day of errands. Overall, the stand is very clean and well-kept, the staff is upbeat and the atmosphere is light/fun. Now– onto the tea. I’ve had both the Boba Milk Tea and the Jasmine Milk Tea(both at half sugar, less ice). Once again, they’ve achieved the essence of giving customers the opportunity to customize their drinks like places in Taiwan. The teas were good, although, I do prefer the Milk Tea over the Jasmine Milk Tea. The boba, as others have mentioned, is abundant and delicious. I generally don’t get boba when I go to other places, but with them, it’s almost a must. They give you a good amount to leave you satisfied but ready for more on your next visit. The texture/consistency of the actual boba is one of– if not the best– in San Diego. In all– awesome to have had this place open in San Diego– it’s about time the boba places upped their game down here. Looking forward to my next visit!

Never experienced so many pearls in a single cup!!! So good! Organic milk + authentic ingredients = possibly best boba tea in San Diego!

Pretty decent boba tea. Agreeing with some other Unilocalers that their prices are slightly more pricier however if you were to get a large milk tea with boba — it is worth it. They fill it up considerably more than other bubble tea places I have been to. On the plus side, similar to Tea Station, they have the option for sugar/less sugar. When you line up they have a sign on the counter where you could see the options you have. Also they have the option or less ice or no ice which is nice as other places usually pack a whole bunch of ice cubes in their drinks so you only get a bit of the drink. They are located right across from the check out registers inside 99 Ranch. However on the downside — as they are new, they do sometimes get so much business that some customers have to wait a hour or two to make new boba. Also their menu is still pretty limited. However I do think they will get better as time comes around. No seating available — it is a grab and go location.

Came here to try their boba drinks. Hubby decided to treat me for a boba drink. I went with a large orange green tea with boba. I originally wanted a medium orange green tea with boba, but the guy behind the counter said that they don’t put add ons with a medium, so I went with a large. The drink was good but a little too sweet. The boba was perfect and had a soft, chewy texture and tasted sweet. I enjoyed the drink. There are no chairs outside the business, so you would just take your drink to go. I wish they would put chairs and tables in front so you can enjoy your drink. They also have milk teas. I would definitely come here again if I was craving a boba drink. This is located inside the 99 Ranch Market. Parking is not too bad at night. Highly recommend this place for a good boba drink!

Boba is pretty good and the tea is decent. This is probably the closest that the boba here has come to the authentic boba in Taiwan. The downside for me though is that they don’t have that big of a selection of tea, though it’s probably because they are limited to the size of the shop. I got the #1 Jasmine Green Tea in regular size for a little more than $ 3. The size is a enough to satisfy your boba cravings, and they fill your cup about a third of the way with boba, so it’s a good amount. This place is located inside 99 Ranch Market. What I like about this place though is that they ask you how much ice you want(regular, less ice, no ice), and how much sugar you want(regular, 70% sugar, half sugar, 30% sugar). That way, you don’t go «Oh crap, I forgot to say half sugar!». I would definitely recommend to get half sugar if you don’t really want to taste too much of the sweetness. I also recommend getting less ice so that your cup is filled with more tea than water from the ice!

Came back here after shopping at 99 Ranch market. I was disappointed last time because their green milk tea was really bad, and they ran out of Boba 4pm. I came back at 7pm and ordered a large boba milk tea. The large size is very large — probably unhealthy for a single person to finish. They fill your cup 40% of the way with chewy, but not too sweet, boba(yay me, I love boba). Milk tea is not very good, either. Oh well, I’m paying $ 3.99 for a very large cup of milk tea filled 40% of the way with boba. I am happy.

Came here on a Saturday night to try out the new boba place in town. I had high expectations for the quality of the drink and OO Tea sure did not disappoint me. However, I went there around 8:10PM which was 20 min before their closing time and they were out of small boba. OO Tea is a branch from the famous Taiwanese boba chain called 50lan and they were the original creators of small boba; so it was a bummer I couldn’t have the small boba. Nonetheless, the normal boba tasted fine. Pros: Makes shopping experience at 99 ranch a little better with boba Cons: Choices on the menu are limited Closes too early The drinks are definitely better than most boba places around the neighborhood. I think it’s at a close second after Sharetea so there are still some place for improvements.

Real question: Is it pronounced«O.O. Tea» or «OOOOOHHHTEA»? I mean, of course I’ll call it «OOOHHHTEA!!!» but that might be wrong. That aside, OO Tea is dang good. I got a large boba milk tea for $ 4. So already a better price than tea station! Not sure if the comparison is fair, but there it is. They give you the option of how much sugar you want, as well as how much ice. YOUKNOW I chose like 3 ice cubes because then you get your money’s worth without wasting space from ice. Anyway, they give you a crap ton of boba, like 1⁄3 of the cup, and it’s chewy and delicious. The milk tea was really smooth and creamy and delicious, and I am glad I got only half sugar because I think more would have been too sweet for my taste! I recommend half sugar unless you have quite the sweet tooth. I am no expert when it comes to milk tea because I had it for the first time when I was 18 and had no frame of reference. I cannot attest to authenticity or anything, but I like this one regardless. I’d choose it over any of the other spots in the area, hands down! The line was sort of long when I was there, but it moves pretty quickly. It is inside Ranch 99 so parking isn’t great, but once you’re inside it is so convenient because you can buy your groceries and have boba! Heavenly. I will undoubtedly be here far too often. OOOOOOHHHH tea!

3⁄5 solid stars Note: This store is inside 99 Ranch Market. OO Tea opened recently. I would say early/mid December 2015. I ordered the milk tea with boba. The milk tea tasted like they used powered milk. I was a bit disappointed, but their boba aka pearls were very tasty and chewy.

They give so much boba! I hope it’s not because of the soft opening! I hope that’s how much they normally give. I’m a creature of habit and always get jasmine milk tea whenever I go to any boba place. OO tea’s jasmine milk tea was incredibly delicious. My girlfriend even enjoyed it! She’s not normally a fan of that flavor but she couldn’t get enough. Great customer service! They were quick and really friendly. We will be back!

Yassss yasssss it’s opened !!! I have been waiting for OO tea to open for awhile :) for those of you who are Taiwanese, you know the famous boba chain store in Taiwan called 50lan. And this is the exact same boba store except they called it OO tea. I was very skeptical if the quality will be different from Taiwan and the U. S, but boy I was so happy to find out the taste and the boba are exactly the same as Taiwan!!! I ordered the jasmine green milk tea with boba, and I am so happy to finally chew bobas that are legitimately chewy. This just became my favorite boba tea place in SD now. YAY!!!

If we talked about boba like whiskey, then OO Tea goes down smooth!!! Hailing from Taiwan, OO Tea is conveniently located inside 99 Ranch Market for shoppers who need a pick me up! OO Tea has a small menu, which likely contributes to the exquisite quality of their drinks. They’ve got lattes, milk teas, fruit juices, and some brewed teas. Most of their drinks, unless indicated, can be made into either cold or hot drinks. The workers speak English and Chinese. The service was friendly and the cashier was knowledgable about the menu and even shared with me her favorites. They call out their drinks in Chinese(and English if no one responds), which brings me back to when I would visit Taiwan over the summers. I like how the price of their boba is included in their drinks. However, they do add tax which is a bummer since all drinks are to go since there is no seating area. Yeah, you heard me right, this amazing boba stand has no seating area so don’t expect to hang with your friends while sipping away at your drinks! Your best bet is to leave and go somewhere cooler than the aisles of 99 Ranch Market. FYI — Pearl Bubble = Mini Boba.(Ain’t my thing… it’s like tadpoles in your mouth. And plus, no one likes small balls anyway…) Ok now to the nitty gritty… The Boba: 10⁄10 it’s sweet chewy warm goodness!!! It is not served hot like Half and Half in LA. But it’s evident the boba is served fresh. The Tea: 10⁄10. Amazing balance of sweetness and tea. No strong bitter tea flavor. It really goes down smooth. You can also adjust the sugar level. I opted for normal sugar and was pleasantly surprised. It is not as overwhelming as Tea Station. Bobio(boba to tea ratio): 10⁄10. No skimping here! The photos show that the boba is almost 1⁄3 of the drink. Every single sip(the first and the last) is filled with the perfect bite of boba! If only every place could be like this. OO Tea is right on the money. From really friendly service to well balanced drinks that offer the perfect consistency of chewy boba, it is clear that the owners are proud and take ownership of their product. Hoping this place will expand to a sit down environment. Nevertheless, I’ll be back EVEN when I’m not just accompanying my mom to 99 Ranch on the weekends!!!

Still in soft opening, but they are off to a good start. I ordered a honey green tea with boba, tea was fresh with a nice honey aroma. The boba is average, a bit too chewy and doesn’t have the brown sugar fragrance I prefer. They also have mini boba too. Service is quick! I think I only waited around 3 minutes for two drinks. Prices are on par with Tea Station do expect to spend $ 4.50 for a regular size drink with boba. I’ll be back after their grand opening to give them an official review.

Came here for soft opening. Tried their pearl milk tea, and I love their pearl a lot. Very chewy and flavorful! I highly recommend this place for boba drinks. Grape fruit version of drinks are great!!! Real grape fruit juice!!! Love it!
