Jasmine green tea with boba was so good! Had the chicken rice plate for lunch. Typical fare you would find at TapX or Tea Station. Excellent choice for a quick lunch in a café style setting.

My wife and I used to come here regularly to study while we were in college. We still come back whenever we’re in the area for some delicious boba. This is one of the better milk tea spots on San Diego. The drinks are flavorful and they consistently prepare the boba so that is not over or under done. They have a good selection of drinks, but I typically get the Royal milk tea or the Taro milk tea /w boba. You can also request the drink to be made either more or less sweet(ie 25%, 50% more or less sweet). I’ve spoken to people who are used to getting milk tea in the LA area and they are usually satisfied with their order. I don’t consider myself to be a boba snob, but I think Tea N More is great, definitely a step above Tea Station. It was also a decent place to study. It’s been a while since I’ve been there but I imagine they still have free wifi. If you want to study with a group of friends, it was tough finding a spot in the early evening because it would always be crowded. They usually play music and it can get pretty loud at night with everyone hanging out. I would just play some music on my headphones and drown out all the ambient noise. As far as customer service is concerned, I’ve never had a complaint. As a student I was never in a rush. Usually I was there to study and was in it for the long haul. But if you are in a hurry, just call in your order before you go in. Overall, the staff has always been friendly and helpful.

Everytime I come here I have a great time. Great music section, seating is never hard to find, the place is interesting to look at and its a great place to study with good food and drinks. Karl is amazing and great with recommendations if you have never had boba in your life. Thanks again Karl

NOTE: Good place to study and hangout with friends, but food is not good and drinks are mediocre… haven’t found something I’ve really enjoyed here yet. AMBIANCE: This place is poppin with Korean music, I guess there’s american too, but I’m noticing the asian-ness more. There’s photo booths and a few claw machines and arcade games when you enter. As well as many little toy dispensers where you insert quarters, turn, and a toy appears! There is FREEWIFI, plenty of seatings and outlets for studying. This is a good place to study or just hangout with friends. There’s Free Board Games and Free Magazines and Manga’s for you to read, which is a cool option to have. I do see many high school and college kids here hanging out, so it does get a bit rowdy at times. SERVICE: The cashiers were nice. When you are finished with your plates, you put it in a white bin on top of the trash cans to be washed. Tea N More takes fivestars. And there is one bathroom for use. FOOD: I personally would not recommend coming for the food, and if you have to get a drink, the cold drinks are best. Food comes out quick. Food looks pretty good, but definitely tasted reheated; not fresh at all. The food menu offers snacks, rice meals, meat bowls, shaved ice, and crepes for food. For drinks, they offer various flavored and plain green teas, black teas and milk teas as well as smoothies, coffees, and hot chocolate. 1. POPCORNCHICKENRICEMEAL $ 6.25: it came with rice, veggie sate and half a boiled egg. The chicken is nothing like tapioca’s crispy chicken, it’s more like chicken tenders cut up, battered again, fried, then seasoned… not great. The rice had this hard rice cap that seemed to be sitting there for a while and just reheated. The veggie sate was very peppery and overcooked, seemed reheated/microwaved. The boiled egg were probably the best part of the rice meal… that’s not saying much. We asked the cashier about the popcorn chicken and they told us they actually ran out of the popcorn chicken so they replaced it with the chicken strips we got today… «why didn’t they bother to mention that when we ordered it…» — not nice. 2. TAKOYAKI $ 4.25: You get 6 per order. It was crispy and tasted like takoyaki! The flavors were in sync and I enjoyed it. My bf said it tasted undercooked. 3. PASSIONFRUITGREENTEA $ 2.75: taste just like the Sam Woo passion fruit jelly drink but with an added green tea flavor. The passion tea green tea drink here isn’t as sweet. The passion fruit flavoring they use though is exactly the same used at Sam Woo. 4. LYCHEESMOOTHIE $ 3.75: A bit too sweet, but not too bad, enjoyed it more than the other drinks. 5. HOTSESAMEMILKTEA $ 3: not very good, tasted watered down and not as milky as I would like. There was also not enough of the black sesame flavor. There was a weird lumpy texture at the beginning too. Sad with this drink :( 6. HOTMATCHAGREENMILKTEA $ 3: very very watered down, felt like I was just drinking sugar water. Barely tasted the matcha… If I knew this is what I’d be getting, I should have just ordered a plain green tea.

We came here on a Saturday night for some boba for the drive back up. I’ve tried many milk tea places before but this was a disappointment. Though the drinks were on the cheaper side, it is obvious they powder their drinks. We ordered a regular plain milk tea and Thai milk tea with boba. The boba was soft and sweet, but I prefer them to be more chewy. The drinks were very sweet but the ice cubes took up most of the drink! It was unbelievable! I feel like I paid for a drink with half cheap milk tea and half water. I do not recommend this place.

Nowadays, I prefer Tea N More to Tea Station(across the street) because Tea N More offers much affordable prices and it has quite a selection of menu too. Tea Station, despite the fact that I like the taste of their milk tea a lot, their price is getting unaffordable. Tea N More apparently also offers some deals during weekdays. It is also more casual and laid back than Tea Station. It has photo booths as well, which I’ve never used at all. The only thing that I don’t really like much from this visit is because I found out they changed the method of their packaging. They used to seal the cup, but now they don’t, which I don’t like much because the milk tea might drip when I placed the cup in my car cup holder. Update: I was informed later on by another Unilocaler that their sealing machine is out of order temporarily.

In terms of drink quality and variety, Tea N More is above average for the Convoy area. For LA and Arcadia natives, it still won’t hold up to the higher standards of tea drinks in those areas, but Tea N More does it’s job as being drinkable. For most of the drinks, you can also ask for(and you should ask for) partial sugar options in quarter amounts since the drinks are usually too sweet otherwise. My go-to is usually the coffee jelly honey boba milk drink with 25−50% sugar. I’ve been coming to this location for a few years now, and I’ve noticed that the service changes tides along with graduating classes at UCSD, SDSU, and other local colleges. This makes sense considering the locale of the tea joint and demographic of its patrons. You’re most likely to be served by a different 20-something every time the weather cools or heats up, and service changes accordingly. The only things that stay consistent are the drink and food quality as well as the décor, though they do need to fix the lock on the men’s room. Overall, Tea N More will probably not knock your socks off, but it is a reliable spot for a catch-up session with some friends.

1 star is me being generous. I recently went on a short vacation to San Diego and my boyfriend and I decided to stop by Tea N More for the sake of nostalgia and it being close to our hotel. Before this trip, we hadn’t been in the area since 2012. My boyfriend used to come when he was a college student. I don’t remember what this place tastes like but, hey, I’m down for taking a trip down memory lane. Verdict: I still don’t remember what this place tastes like. When we stopped by, apparently the staff wasn’t serving customers because they were switching shifts. We would have had to wait 15 – 20 minutes until we could order. Uh, no. We left and went to Tea Station across the street instead. Not serving customers during a shift change is how you lose business. Just switch out your damn register for a new one(or get another working system of your choice) and get someone to take orders while you count the money.

Call me crazy, but I think this place has THEBESTMILKTEA in San Diego!!! Considering that we have a plethora of options… from Tea Station, Up2U café, Tapioca Express, Boba Time, etc… This is a compliment. The popcorn chicken snack is pretty tasty as well. It has a pretty big space so there is plenty of tables to chose from. You’ll find a lot of UCSD kiddies here. However, this is not the ideal place to study, because it’s pretty loud most of the time. They also finally added a bathroom inside, so you don’t have to make the trek outside to take care of business… Just a little tidbit :) Overall, I would give this place 5STARS for the delicious food&drinks, big space, and easy parking!

I was so sad that I only discovered this tea shop a few months before I moved out of San Diego. But, I went probably three times … and all the time I was working in the Clairemont area, this place was super close to me! The BF’s friend used to work at a boba place, so I trust her advice when it comes to good boba drinks. He said she recommended this place, so we went late one night to check it out. I had eaten a full dinner already, but the BF was slightly hungry and wanted something to snack on. We ended up getting drinks and popcorn chicken to go. I’m glad this boba shop was open pretty late. In fact, we ended up going twice in the same weekend — the second time, I just got a drink and he got mapo tofu.(I even went later that same week with a different friend who just moved to San Diego and loves tea shops). There’s ample seating here, and I can see how it would be a popular spot for college kids/high schoolers to hang out at. I was laughing the first time I went because I saw one of those CUE photo booths — I hadn’t seen one since I was in undergrad. But the people working here are really friendly and were really patient with me when I had so many questions and was indecisive about my order. If I’m ever in the SD area again, I would revisit this café in a heartbeat. All of my experiences here have been great so far. Here’s what we got: «Milk Tea»: During my first visit, I just got the regular milk tea sans boba. Because it was pretty late at night, I just wanted something simple and I knew I would be going to bed soon. This milk tea didn’t disappoint. It was smooth, silky and refreshing. I actually prefer getting my drinks sans boba because I don’t like to keep stopping to chew. This milk tea was just as good as some of the others that I’ve had from other Asian cafes in the area; it contained enough flavor and wasn’t too watery. «Almond Milk Tea with Boba»: The BF always orders his tea with boba, but he chose a different flavor. I had a sip of his almond milk tea and it tasted pretty similar to my original milk tea. It was also really refreshing and not too sweet; great choice if you want a mildly flavored tea. «Mocha Milk Tea»: During my second visit here, I got this«mocha» flavored tea. It basically tasted like chocolate milk. I loved the subtle mocha flavor — it wasn’t super strong, but I could tell it was there. It was sweeter than the original milk tea, and I would definitely order this one again. Mocha flavors are my general go-to. «Popcorn Chicken»: We ordered this to go, and the BF opted for the sweet and sour sauce(you could get that, Ranch or Honey Mustard). I probably would have gone with the ranch or honey mustard. But he really enjoyed the popcorn chicken, saying that it had sufficient flavor. It was breaded to a nice golden hue, but it didn’t seem overly crunchy. I wasn’t hungry when he ordered it, so I didn’t try any of it, but the chicken looked good and I wouldn’t mind trying it during a future visit. «Mapo Tofu Rice»: The BF ordered this later during the weekend, but I was still full from brunch earlier in the day so I once again got a drink while he ordered a meal. This entrée contained a good amount of both, mapo tofu and rice, considering the price(only $ 6.25). I do love a good mapo tofu, so I would definitely want to try this entrée for myself one day. The BF really enjoyed it and said it was flavorful. «Pork Cutlet Rice»: I have yet to order a meal from this place, but if I did, this rice entrée would be one of the first ones I’d want to try. I do love pork cutlet – if chicken katsu isn’t available – so I anticipate trying this dish one day. «Eel Rice»: I do love unagi; it’s one of my favorites. This is another entrée that’s at the top of my must-try list if I’m ordering a main dish from here.

Came here right around opening time the other day. This place is okay. They serve a variety of snack type foods and teas. It’s right next to Coco’s Restaurant. Originally wanted jasmine green tea with boba, but the boba wasn’t ready yet. The guy told me it’d be 20 minutes for boba. I had errands to run and an appointment so I didn’t want to wait. So I ordered jasmine green tea with aloe vera and green apple jelly. Also ordered some takoyaki. Took a few minutes for the drink and the takoyaki came out a few minutes after. The drink was okay. It would have been nice to have been able to try the boba. The takoyaki came out nice and fresh, tasted good. The décor is cool. It has some comfy looking sofas. There are some Japanese photo booths and some crane machines. This place looks like a high school /college hang out heaven. They have free WiFi. Parking wasn’t terrible, but then again I came here right around opening. I’d come back to give this place another go. I’d rate this place 3.5, marked off 0.5 for not having boba ready.
