Great and healthy food, the staff are friendly, and I would recommend anyone who like healthy and delicious food, my personal favorite is the veggie burritos.

As residents of The Sunset Cliffs neighborhood my boyfriend and I were eager and excited to try this local eatery. It has a great location, near one of San Diego’s most iconic locations, but that’s pretty much all it brings to the table. The food was VERY underwhelming and my burrito looked down-right unappetizing. Limited seating, limited menu and mediocre food. While I truly believe that some of the most unassuming, hole in the wall restaurants have the greatest food, this was deff not of one those times. I really wanted to like this place, it has tons of potential but REALLY needs to step it up.

Not the best breakfast ive ever had, but i sure do love coming here on sunday mornings! Love the simple all american(eggs over easy, toast, bacon, potatoes). The first time i had this plate, my over easy eggs were cooked perfectly. If this was consistent, i definetly would have rated this café 4 stars. However, I knocked off two stars because since then my eggs have not been as great, with a little runny white interfering with my yolk. My fiancé gets the sunset burrito and loves it. I love when they play hawaiin music– feels like your back in the islands. Overall, great beach feel that puts you at instant ease with a clearly hardworking team. I recommend if looking for a simple, fast fix.

Location is great because it’s outside of OB, so not too busy, and close to the cliffs and local’s beaches. Some staff members are friendly but others seem like they really don’t want to be there, which is not pleasant. I LOVE their breakfast taco! It’s the perfect mini breakfast burrito. I love me some bfast burritos but they’re enormous most places. The taco is a small flour tortilla with scrambled eggs, cheese, potatoes and bacon served with a side of salsa. Delicious and the perfect amount of food if you plan on getting the PB&J smoothie. which you absolutely should.

I went here almost a year ago and was a disappointed by the food and the creamer for the coffee which was curdled. But I’m glad we gave it another try because we had visitors who saw the $ 2 mimosa sign and wanted to try it. The breakfast burritos were awesome along with the two egg and bacon breakfast and BLT. The staff seemed different from my first visit and was very friendly and efficient.

Only been here once but can’t complain. The breakfast burritos were delicious. No other reason not to give 5 stars. It just isn’t a phenomenal place like others in San Diego. It’s local and convenient for me so I do like the location.

August 4, 2014 Monday — breakfast 10:15AM 2 adults Atmosphere –4 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 4 stars Background — Tried to find a breakfast place nearby and this is what I came up with through Unilocal. Atmosphere — Yes the place is a bit divey, which I do not mind when the food is good. The problem was the flies, too many, swatting at them constantly after our food arrived. Food Drink — PB& J smoothie with apple juice. Really tasted like eating peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Very good but did not go well with the burrito, I am bad. Main course — I had the Sunrise burrito. I am all about a good breakfast burrito and this one was huge and came with a side of salsa and chips. I would order this again. Service — What you need but did not exceed and any form. Actually when they went to build my smoothie they had back to me at the table to find out if I wanted milk or apple juice as my liquid source for it. Future — Sure.

Very delicious, quaint and friendly beach café! Loved it! Quick, easy, delicious. Smoothies are fantastic. Boyfriend and I each got one. His orange somethingerother tasted like a creamsicle! Yum! We each got a breakfast sandwich-mine croissant, and him bagel. Both great! Definitely recommend.

Nice little breakfast spot in Ocean Beach. A friend of mine who I was staying with lives right around the corner from this place so we came in one morning for breakfast. Honestly, I wish I would have got something with a little more substance. I was hungover the morning we came in, and unlike a lot of other people I just can’t eat a lot of food in that position. I got boring yogurt & granola, but it was good. I liked the banana & berries that were added to it. Everything tasted fresh. My friends got a breakfast burrito & french toast. They both looked & smelled good. The friend who lives close by says the salsas served here are really good, and I did have a couple samples while we waited for our food, and I agree with this. It doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot(business wise) in this part of Ocean Beach compared to the streets that cross Sunset Cliffs as you get closer to Mission Beach, but if you happen to venture out this way it’s a pretty solid spot for breakfast. You do have to wait a bit(it’s a pretty tiny place w/not very many employees from what I can tell), but they’re friendly.

Great place to eat and hang out near the water. Whatever you order will be delicious and will not be long, even if there is one person working, seriously. Great service with a smile! Great for your dogs too. There is a hand rail for your leashes and water bowls… awesome!

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. So much cuter inside than it seems from driving by on the street. Nice clean, beachy, casual vibe. I’ve mostly just stopped in for coffee before or after a walk on the cliffs(great coffee), but they have a more extensive and interesting menu than you’d expect from a little beach café — breakfast burritos and tacos, omelets, breakfast skillet, chef scramble, and lots of smoothies. We tried the yogurt & granola today topped w/blueberries and honey, and it was really good. For lunch they have a big assortment of interesting burritos, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads, even Baja fish tacos and fish & chips. Everything under $ 10. They even serve beer and $ 2 mimosas. We’ll definitely be back!

Hit or miss depending on who is working. Good food, its fresh, but you’re only as strong as your weakest employee. Some of the ladies that work here are awesome and accommodating, but some are rude and don’t know anything about the menu. Personally I also think this place is over priced, but it has a good location and serves breakfast all day.

A perfectly decent spot for a breakfast burrito. Point Loma Beach Café was a convenient stop for us, since we were staying down the block at the Inn at Sunset Cliffs. When you’re really, really hungry and in a bit of a hurry, there’s no arguing with a convenient location. We arrived a few minutes after opening and were one of two parties eating there. The cook was also the one taking orders at the counter and delivering food. Since it wasn’t busy, this made the café seem pretty welcoming. It’s a very small restaurant with, I think, just three tables inside and a couple outside next to the sidewalk. We both ordered the veggie breakfast burrito, which came with a side of chips and salsa(never too early in the morning for chips, right?). The tortilla was stuffed full of eggs, potatoes, beans, onion, cilantro, tomato, and cheese. Everything tasted fresh and surprisingly light. While the flavor was great, the burrito was on the dry side. It really could have used some guac, sour cream, and salsa or some sort of sauce. As it was, I used the salsa that accompanied my chips and tried to douse my burrito in it. You could eat at Point Loma Beach Café for less than $ 10 easily. If you’re in the area and want to sit down in the sunshine with a cup of coffee, a newspaper, and an inexpensive breakfast, then this café is worth a visit.

This was my second time getting food from Point Loma Beach Café and I have to say, I haven’t really been ‘wow’-ed yet. Today my boyfriend picked us up some lunch, I got the OB burrito and he got the Mahi Mahi sandwich. The OB Burrito is supposed to come with chicken, avocado, grilled onions, rice, black beans, monterey jack cheese and jalapeño cream sauce. My burrito had no avocado and no cream sauce. It’s always frustrating when the avocado is forgotten because you assume that a decent percentage of the price is due to the avocado. The chicken itself was just plain old chicken seasoned with pepper. And there was wayyy too much jack cheese. So what I really had was a pepper-chicken wrap with loads of jack cheese, black beans and rice. Oh and grilled peppers. Not really a ‘burrito’ in any sense of the word. No spice, no cumin, no chili pepper flavor. My boyfriend’s Mahi Mahi sandwich was supposed to come with an ‘aioli’ but it tasted just like mayonnaise. There was so much of it that his bread was completely soggy by the time we got home.

Point Loma Beach Café is adjacent to the hotel where we usually stay when we visit Ocean Beach. The restaurant is a tiny place with just a few tables inside and a few more out on the sidewalk. I usually order their breakfast burrito, but everything else is good, too. We like to take some of their salsa, quacamole to snack on later in the day. They recently got a license to sell beer and are now serving dinner as well. Looking forward to that when we visit OB next time.

Great smoothies; good breakfast burrito; and awesome location. I love the ambiance of this little place because it’s such a tiny spot, right by sunset cliffs. The only thing that really needs improvement is their coffee menu, which is basically nonexistent at this point. They could make a KILLING if they offered more coffee selection.

This little café prepared some pretty good food. It may be small, but it has a lot of heart.( ) I had their breakfast burrito made with bacon, scrambled eggs, whole black beans, and Monterrey Jack cheese with a side of tortilla chips and salsa for $ 5.99.( ) The scrambled eggs were very good and the bacon was outstanding. It was very crispy and thick with great flavor.( ) The mellow black beans and cheese were a nice touch that help balance the salty bacon. The corn tortilla chips were a nice side and were the salsas that accompanied them was spot on.( ) The salsa was well seasoned, fresh, and had a medium spice. It was perfect for my burrito and chips. They also offer free tortilla chips and salsa and guacamole as taster at the counter, so you can figure out what you want with your order.( ) They all tasted great! Like I said, the place is small with 3 tables outside and about five inside. They also make a variety of breakfast items as well as lunch. The service was great and the young lady who served me was terrific. Independent places like this one rock!

i“m so glad we stopped by the Point Loma Beach Café! It’s adorable, located right near the Sunset Cliff Hike. There’s always a ton of people jogging along side. The outside seating is particularly cute because you can just sit and watch passerby. I just ordered a bagel, and expected it to just a toasted bagel with a Philadelphia cheese packet. But no. It was well done with cream cheese smothered in the middle of two perfectly crisp bagel halves. Normally, it’s only places that specializes in bagels that place the cream cheese for you. Me and my bf wanted something light. So he just got a couple breakfast tacos. It was just the right amount of food for a very reasonable cost. Under $ 5 for both. They have pictures of surfers and cool beach-y décor all over the little shack-style café. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a bite before your hike or beach day in SD!
