Poor quality and expensive The gravy in the biscuit and gravy takes like clam chowder… not sausage gravy… Eggs over cooked

We have been here a few times over the last few years and we have always a had a good meal. They must have recently expanded and did some upgrades because when we were just in SD we went here to grab a quick lunch. We were pleasantly surprised when they sat us in the«newer» area. It had doors that completely opened up to a very nice patio that overlooked the pool of the hotel next door. My son was feeling a little sick so the waitress got him some crackers and a ginger ale to help him feel better. As for the food there were 6 of us total and we all thought the food was good. Good service, good food and if you can sit by the patio great atmosphere. Will definitely go back again.

Excellent service. The staff is very friendly and kind. The food was amazing. Our waitress was Irene and she delivered great service. I highly recommend you visit the restaurant. It’s not just a café they have the best chipotle sauce. I highly recommend you visit!

If you’re on your way to the airport you will miss your flight. We live in the neighborhood and eat at this restaurant often, and the management still is unable to plan for busy times. For a $ 35 breakfast for two of us(before the tip) they can afford to hire another person. The cashier has to double as wait staff, and there are frequent lines of people waiting to be seated or waiting to check out. This morning we waited at the register almost 10 minutes to pay our bill. Hint: More staff on weekends and when the Chargers play at home.

Irene was our waitress and she was FANTASTIC! Her energy was so great, she was very conversational and funny! Our mimosas were delicious, salsa is great, and food was pretty good as well(Ordered an omelette with bacon, avo, cheese, mushrooms and chilies) of generous portions! Irene honestly made the experience the most pleasant one!

Yuck! We stayed at the Holiday Inn– Bayside and ordered out from here. We ordered: 1– Calamari– beware there will be whole baby octopuses in it. It was ice cold and soggy. Not crispy in the least bit! 2– the chicken sandwich– the bread was so «toasted» it cut the top of my mouth! 3– the chicken ribbons– so terrible! My kid ate 2 bites and claimed she was full. The good part? 1– their ranch is good.

Part of the holiday inn, Place was clean, prices were right for the portions and the food was good. Cole slaw was really good, fresh with a light vinaigrette, not the soggy mayo mess many places serve. Sandwich was basic but good. Service was good. Place was about half full. Left full, Could do a lot worse.

We got to the Best Western Hotel later than expected so wanted to find something close and convenient. The Point Loma Café is part of the Holiday Inn. Friendly staff… very good food and reasonably priced.
Food — reasonably priced. Very large portions. I had the two egg breakfast and it came with a small slice of watermelon, slice of orange, potatoes, and I choose toast. The other two people I ate with had the biscuit and gravy option and both said it was delicious. And kids eat free if you are a hotel guest so that was great too! Experience — we came on the morning of a holiday, so we knew we would be waiting and it would be a little slower. We were told 20 – 25 minutes for a table, which ended up being 35 minutes, annoying but not the end of the world. However, we were«seated» by them throwing menus on the table(not even enough for all of us) and them pointing. We had requested a high chair, waited five minutes. I went up to the host stand to ask if we could grab it and some crayons and Chris threw his hand up and waved it in my face and said to give him a minute. Rude. We waited 40 minutes for our food. Which was brought in two halves 10MINUTES apart. I had to get up and Ask the«manager» where our food was. Mario, the«manager» was standing at the front while he had a full window of food. The only ring that saved us was our server Bing who was running circles around everyone in this place while handling the bar and part of the floor. If I owned this restaurant I’d be furious. Retrain your«managers», they should be helping everyone!!!

Staying in Point Loma this week. Was looking for a spot that served breakfast all day. Our waitress was cool, the owners gf. She reminded me of Phoebe from Friends! Funny, friendly and whimsical. The food was really greasy. I’m concerned that I ate thousands of calories. If they would figure out a way to cook without cooking so much with oil it would be better.

Enjoyed my American Raised Kobe Beef Burger. Burger was cooked to perfection just the way I liked it and the bun was so fresh and soft. Sat in the bar area and had great service from the bartender Tony. He was very personable, took our order promptly and always checked on us to make sure we needed anything. I highly recommend Point Loma Café. Excellent service and food…

As I sat here in the Point Loma café eating Thanksgiving dinner because I wasnt in the mood to leave the state this holiday, I checked out the first five reviews on the place on Unilocal and I was shocked as I just have had a very good meal for a decent price not to mention the staff has been courteous, the place has a nice atmosphere and is clean down to the restroom. I did note that 4 out of 5 of the reviews were from 3 to 8 months ago but Ive eaten here before through the last couple of years and I had the same opinion. As for the lady that said you’re better off going to Dennys, I would bet anything that that lady has never been to a Dennys and I think she should go there to find out the true difference of the two.

If I can give negative stars for this experience, I would. Place looks clean and has the potential to have a nice environment. But I never thought our experience could be ruined by the workers. We must be spoiled in LA with awesome service. So bad that all we can do wad laugh. So if you want to try it out for shits n giggles or for just laugh, because everything was so bad, go ahead and give it a try. (we tried it out because we were comp’d a free breakfast. But they didn’t get the voucher until we paid. I would have easily tipped him the price of our meals because it was free and I’m just paying it forward.) it was just bad service. Vague review but you can ask me any questions about the experience.

Not so good. Was at a work conference in the Holiday Inn that this café is part of, so I figured I would try this place for lunch. Mistake! With all the nice places around and just across the street I missed an opportunity to try a nice San Diego spot. A look at the menu let me know the food was kind of pricey, but nothing unusual for the area. The quality of the food was not very good at all. My salad was made of the hard white lettuce parts I generally discard. Sandwich was soggy and bland. Co worker’s food at the table was the same low quality. Service was not bad at all, but it could not make up for the food and lack of any ambiance in such a nice seaside area. Guess the focus is on the hotel not the restaurant side.

I guess when you have low expectations for a hotel coffee shop, it’s alot easier to get pleasantly surprised. For that reason I did enjoy this place. The breakfast menu was surprisingly not JUST choice of breakfast meat, eggs, potatoes, and more. Go for the omelette, you will be AMAZED at how much they stuff in that! I actually always ask for my omelette scrambled and I highly recommend doing it that way here as well. Instead of toast you can get corn bread, or biscuits and gravy! Yes please! The coffee was good too, I had myself three cups. Fresh fruit cups, and even the french toast was well spongy yet fluffy! My only complaint is the service. The waitress was unfriendly and it was obvious she couldn’t wait for her shift to end. I hate when that happens because the food takes longer and the experience could have been better.

This place is a tourist trap as far as I’m concerned. We ate breakfast here last Saturday and we were both disappointed. FOOD: Restaurants should not serve frozen, bagged potatoes for any meal. It was clear that I could have purchased them in a grocery store and thrown them on a plate luke-warm as I received it. I also ordered the granola, strawberries, & yogurt. There were raisins in it and almost no granola to speak of. My BF ordered the«Big Breakfast» which looked like a pretty normal sized breakfast. He didn’t seem very happy either. SERVICE: At one point during the meal, our server actually said, «AREYOUOK?» That’s a great way to make your guest feel welcome and attended to… especially in the tone of voice she used. Come time to leave her a tip, she decided that she should start being polite. What a coincidence! 1 Star for not poisoning us. We will not return to this restaurant… ever.
