About a year or so ago, one of the managers gave me his business card and wrote on it with a black sharpie«GOODFORONEFREEPAIROFSANDALS»…he signed it, etc, on his own business card. It was not an «official coupon», but he said«come on by anytime for your sandals.» I held on to it until today, when I tried to use it at the Rainbow Sandals kiosk in Fashion Valley mall in san diego. The very young kid who was working the kiosk… baggy pants and backwards cap and all… a bit rudely looks at me, then my ‘card’ and scoffs. He then turns to his other younger looking co-worker…and they both decided that they will not honor the card. And therefore, they wont give me my free sandals. They told me the manager who gave me this card«no longer works here.» To which I said… what does that have to do with the fact that I have an official business card, from one of your managers, for a free pair of sandals? There is no expiration date, and how is it the customer’s fault that this employee is no longer with the company? You’re telling me that because that guy decided to get another job, you will now NOT honor this? the experience left me soured on the brand, and this company. confirms my hesitation to EVER do any business with the«kids» who run those kiosks. I fully understand that hiring 18 year olds to run kiosks in the mall is part of doing business… but this was unprofessional customer service, even for them. Making it worse, the kiosk employee with the backwards cap then proceeds(after I had walked away .but was only 15 feet away) to throw his hands up in the air complaining about me to another employee. He did not realize I was still right there. And I looked at him and asked him why he’s throwing his hands up in the air? I’m right here still if he has a problem? That’s no way to do business. Hope you guys change your attitudes a bit. plus…$ 50 for a pair of sandals?
