The food here isn’t terrible but it isn’t amazing either. Came here while staying at the Hyatt which is the only reason this place has customers. I had a Bloody Mary that was ice, ice, and more ice with a splash of Bloody Mary mix. My wife had a undercooked egg white burrito that had very little flavor while I had a twist on a Mexican breakfast. My breakfast didn’t even include everything listed in the description I had to ask our absent waitress for the rest of my breakfast after waiting for it for over an hour. This is really sad due to the fact that they only had 3 other filled tables during the early morning. The rest of my stay I will go somewhere else. If you are a hotel guest and want a breakfast close to the hotel. I suggest the einstens bagels associated with the hotel.

*** $ 18 burger?! Are you kidding me? *** Nah, that’s what it costs. French fries and a few onion rings accompany it, so alright. I ordered mine medium rare and omfg … Hm, it’s good. Idk if I’d order anything else. *** Poolside view ain’t shabby either, nice. ***

Service service service, The lack of. Stood at front door for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us while waiters walked by. Food took way too long to come out. Our server was oblivious to our empty drink cups. Food itself is maybe a 2.5−3 star. But the service is amazingly terrible. The only thing keeping this place alive is the location.

They trap you out on the marina. Charge you ridiculous price for a so so meal. Totally disappointed

I went to Red Marlin 2 weekends ago while my stay at The Dana at Mission Bay. Got there 30 minutes before they closed but that was the only place we could have gone on foot. It was beautiful at night time with a fire pit and nearby marina which was lit up so wonderfully. Inside they were very professional loooking with high class decorations. However, it felt as though the bartender was rushing us. Also, we ordered the quinoa meal and the eggplant app. The egg plant appetizer was cold and I was not sure if that was how it was supposed to be. Didnt wanna bother the already rushing bartender. Overall, I felt the food was not worth the very expensive price tag.

Great location, great view, grilled Mahi awesome… Service, no bueno. Waitress walked away while I was talking to her. She later asked me if I wanted another beer then never brought it. Crab cakes a bit pricey.

The hotel is great and I left my review for the Hyatt. Now for this restaurant well my experience wasn’t pleasant. Honestly everything was great until we went for breakfast at the Red Marlin, when we enter the restaurant I believe it was the manager who greeted us but not sure. It was a guy and he asked us if we were guest at the hotel and we said yes, then he asked for our room number which we provided. I didn’t think much of it until he came back and asked us again the same question. I looked around and notice that we were the only Hispanics in the restaurant other than the waiters and his looked gave me the sense that we weren’t welcome. I started to get upset but like my boyfriend said at the end of the day he’s the one serving us and cleaning our table. The rest of the staff was very nice and cordial but that guy made sure that I never return to that restaurant. You would think that if I can afford the damn room I can sure as hell pay my $ 24 buffet price. I truly felt humiliated at one point for being questioned the way we did. I should have complained to a manager but my boyfriend talked me out of not telling that jerk off. Other than that the experience was pleasant. But I’m not sure if I can get past the Hyatt being associated with that restaurant. Again this comes to personal experience and if I could give them zero stars I would. There’s a horrible feeling when you are treated less Someone makes you feel less than anyone else.

ALMOST everything was cooked to perfection. And this comes from someone who is pretty picky. We did the Valentines dinner and it included four courses. The scallops were perfectly seared and placed on a nice bed of pea risotto. The filet mignon came out a perfect medium rare. And the fresh ahi tuna roll was fabulous! The lobster was not good and overcooked and the chocolate cake was a little bit dry, but other than that we really could not complain. And our waiter was not snobby at all, but very kind and made our dinner special.

Awesome view. I read later that there have been complaints against the staff not being attentive enough. Ours was alright but the busser girl was super attentive. Great food.

Had my company holiday dinner here. A large group of 50. Located at the far end of the Hyatt, somewhat hidden and a little tricky to find at night. All the cars parked in front(free parking) and the cul de sac helped us find it. Large windows opening up to a fantastic Bay Marina view, a modern contempo styled interior and a large interior firepit gave my large dinner party a sense of wonderment. The bar area was well staffed with a nice selection of spirits. The restrooms were interesting, the mens/womens room can see each other and share the same exit door. Service was decent and food delivery was slow. The food was tasty, 3 diamond hotel level quality(visitors from the Hyatt next door frequent here). I’d like to try the breakfast/brunch options in the future. Looking at the menu, the offerings are priced a little steep for what you get. The best part of the night was our drinks, our bartender didn’t hold back on the Bourbon, about 4 fingers deep and added only a few cubes of ice. It helped make the evening fun and interesting. It helps to tip well.

Very accommodating for our large group. Everyone needed separate checks, no problem. Food will take a while to come out, but it’s totally worth the wait. Absolutely amazing sea bass! I definitely will come back if I am ever in the area. Our whole group had a great time.

Best buffet ever. With lots of choices for breakfast. Everything is delicious. Bryan the manager was very friendly and he was more than willing to serve us himself. All the staff were really nice too. Can’t wait to have bfadt here again tomorrow.

This review is for the breakfast buffet. $ 52 for two of us. The food equivalent of this Buffett is a Holiday Inn Express free breakfast. The difference: the Holiday Inn Express Breakfast comes with a room. Strictly Sysco/US Foods processed, chemically laden shit food. Why hotels perpetrate this horrific food on the public and then have the audacity to charge as if were real food is tragic and grotesque at the same time.

My family and I came to this restaurant as we were waiting for our rooms. It was for lunch and the experience was very nice. It wasn’t busy and we decided to sit inside next to a window that viewed the pier. Our server was Nate and he was amazing! Attentive but not overwhelming. We received a coupon book and decided to take advantage of the complimentary clam chowder(w/a purchase of 1 lunch entrée). The clam chowder was delicious! It had more of a bacon flavor, but I liked that they used chunks of clams instead of itty bitty clams. It was in a small serving bowl perfect for 1 person(and not to fill up so fast). I ordered the halibut and was quite disappointed. It honestly had the consistency of a frozen halibut and was very, very dry. I was sad because I was looking forward to this dish. My mom ordered the slow braised rib tacos and they were AWESOME! Street style tacos with a lot of meat and a punch full of flavor! We ordered 3 desserts to share: crème brûlée, cinnamon roll cheesecake and molten chocolate cake. All 3 were very good, but I enjoyed the crème brûlée. Why did I give this place 4 stars even though my dish wasn’t good? Because our server Nate took it off the tab without any hesitation! He asked how the halibut was and I was honest about it being dry. After he brought over our bill, he told us that he took the halibut off as we couldn’t enjoy it. If I’m ever in the area again, I will for sure come back and request Nate to be my server.

I used to really love this place when I was younger. It was upscale, and anything you ordered off of the dinner menu had a recommendation for a wine pairing when you asked the server about it. I recently went here and the food was still on par, but the service has declined quite a bit. I definitely think the rating it currently has represents 100% how your experience is going to be. Not great, but not terrible. The Malbec they had was definitely a little cheap — it had a twist-off top.(I’m a wine snob, deal with it.)

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant inside of the Hyatt hotel. I came here with a friend after going out to the Marina for a boat ride. The service was attentive and scenery was beautiful. Also AMAZING view of the Seaworld fireworks(show is from 8:50 — 9:00p.m. throughout the summer) They didn’t have any beers on draft which was a bummer but they did offer a wide selection of bottled drinks. As for food, I tried the clam chowder and cheese plate. I loved the clam chowder minus the arugula added atop. The cheese plate was ok, I appreciate that they offered jellies, dried fruit and tasty bread but the cheese selection wasn’t a favorite of mine(all three types were extremely bold). The cheese platter was a beautiful sight but just not my cup of tea – just depends on what types of cheeses you like.

What a fantastic location! Windows all around and views from almost any seat. I had breakfast here a couple of times over a weekend. Breakfast was buffet and was pretty good. Certainly not the best I’ve had, but far from the worst. There were hot dishes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon as well as a nice selection of cereals and other cold breakfast foods. The eggs were not very good, they were cooked in one huge batch, almost like a heavy soufflé. One big whipped cake of eggs with not much in the way of flavor. I really enjoyed the yogurt parfait with blueberries, bagels and toast were good, too. The service was good and prompt, coffee and juice were available and plentiful. Early morning sun was beautiful at this location, it was such a brilliant way to have a good breakfast.

A whole lot more than just a hotel bar and restaurant. On the grounds of the Hyatt Mission Bay is a modern setting on the harbor, nice patio and outside bar — and even nicer inside. It’s complete with yachts, sailboats, and seals. With very little nearby competition, it can be a little repetitive for a multi-day stay, I felt a little captive, so to speak, going there 2 – 3 times a day. In doing so, I tried a number of things from the Strauss All-Natural Grass-Fed So-Cal Burger($ 18, 4.5 stars, top 25 burger on my list), Trip of Red Marlin Desserts($ 14, 4.0 stars), bagel & cream cheese($ 6, really?), mixed drinks, and beer among other things. The breakfast buffet($ 22) looks worthy, but I didn’t try it. Grooviest music on their website, check it out:

I had high expectations for this restaurant despite the mediocre Unilocal reviews. When we walked in there was only 1 other tables with guest and a guy at the bar. I guess that should have been a sign. The hostess was very nice and we got seated next to the window so the view was very nice. Menu Clam chowder: Good Salad with blueberries, strawberries, and almond: Just Ok Salmon: Good Snickerdoodle: OK — the kids didn’t even finish it. Wine: Delicious(best part of dinner) Service: Nothing extraordinary, which was a little disappointing given the fact that there weren’t many people at the restaurant. If you’re celebrating a birthday don’t expect anything special. With all the amazing restaurants in San Diego, this wouldn’t even come close to any of them. I would pass on this restaurant if you’re looking for the entire package.
