It’s a recycling plant! They do their job, so do yours and recycle!!! Yeah, it smells like dried juice and alcohol, yeah it’s noisy, yeah it looks dirty, so what, it helps the planet. That being said, my experience with water bottles is to not crush them at home and rather use the 2 automatic recycling mechanisms on the sides of the center. Seems to pay about $ 6 when I was only getting about $ 4.50 from weighing the same stuff.

I always thought this recycle center was a salvation or goodwill donation drop off. So it was awesome when the bf said nope it’s actually a recycle location where you can make some spare cash to take your mate out for a fancy dinner. We honestly thought we’d make bank with all the stuff(cans, bottles) we were bringing in . They are located in the Albertsons mall. They only take soda/beer cans, beer bottles, plastic bottles. Note: ** No crv for wine bottles ** They will give you .01c per FOURPOUNDS of wine bottles. A penny. For FOUR lbs. So not really worth it unless you’re a true wino. You separate out the cans, glass, and plastic. Then the nice man weighs each bin separately . Don’t bother cheating with adding rocks to cans(I heard ppl did that — pretty smart actually) bc they use a cage like container to shake the cans. Plus, make sure your containers are empty bc there’s moisture adjustment for any liquid that might be detected ! Smarty huh. It was actually a fascinating experience as I haven’t been to recycle center since I was little . I thought the man would hand us a wad of cash but he said nope, he carries NO cash. Instead he prints a receipt which you walk over to Albertsons and cash out . So for the 5FULL paper bags of stuff we brought in… we made… Wait for it … $ 7.63. So ummm yeahhhh… needless to say we are driving to in n out for that fancy romantic meal we thought we’d score from that cash bounty we expected to get

I used this center today because the RePlanet off of Del Mar Heights didn’t honor their 4:30pm closing time for the past 2 Saturdays(you can see my other review). When I called to complain to their customer service center, they advised me they just purchased this former«Nexcycle» recycling center and they’d be open today(Sunday) so I could leave all my bags of recyclable items in my car and head over there. This center is not setup just yet as a RePlanet center, so you have to take all your caps off of your plastic bottles, which is time-consuming. They will give you credit for them weight-wise, the machine just cannot handle the caps during the crushing process. This is the only reason I gave them one star short of 5 stars for the inconvenience. Otherwise, the employees were very helpful and customer service oriented. I would use the again if the location in my neighborhood doesn’t get their act together on honoring their closing time.

**Ripoff Alert!!** The guy here always tries to weigh your recyclables, whether you like it or not. When you ask him to count them(you get more money), he sometimes tells you NO in your face, and he will put up a fight with you.
