NOT the best place for Asian food. But it is what it is. It’s in a naval base here in San Diego. And the worst time to come here is on a weekday during lunch time. Oh man… These lines make you wanna just go across the street to McDonald’s. Yeah, it’s that bad. And the drive thru lady? You mind as well park your car and go inside cause for one, the credit card machine for drive thru is down, so you have to pay cash. I mean, you can pay card but they’d have to use the machine at the front register which takes awhile… And two, the organization is wack. I was given food that wasn’t even mine and I asked for my card back which I’m sure I don’t have to and that card wasn’t even mine. It was somebody else’s. The food is OKAY… It’s enough to get by the day. Or if your standing duty. Other than that, it’s still an Asian restaurant where everyone on base can eat at.

Due to lack of options this place is very crowded around lunch time. I asked a question about the egg rolls and she said I don’t know we don’t make them, good answer. Some of the food is not to bad but the chow mein is not good. This the most expensive fast food Chinese place I’ve seen. I don’t know how fortune cookies are made but there are weird black flakes in theirs.

I don’t know why I come here. lack of other options sometimes I suppose. It’s crummy Asian food. And their music!!! Does anyone else feel like they just came from a funeral after leaving this place??? I mean, the food is one thing, but the atmosphere COULD improve the experience. But it doesn’t. At all. There’s, mcdonalds and subway within a stones throw. Exercise these options first.

All in one stop for asian food that’s not good at none. Its a waste of money, if your really desperately craving Chinese food just go to panda express a little further away. if you really want to experience the«fine» cuisine that is rice king expect under/over cooked depending your luck, chow mien thats almost taste like soggy paper machè, ill prepared saucy straight from the grocery freezer chicken and a feeling like you should of spent your money somewhere else. Otherwise… the egg rolls were good! I got them right when they popped out of the fryer! Cheers!

It’s a Rice King… So if your expecting gourmet Chinese food you should probably drive off base and head downtown. This place is conveniently located, has a drive through and the prices aren’t that bad.

Yep, now I remember Rice King. Arguably, the worst Asian food served anywhere. Almost choked on the fatty Korean-style short ribs. Stay away, not worth your precious $$. Drive off-base and head to Royal Mandarin in National City instead!

Before coming to San Diego, I never heard of Rice King. Upon hearing the name, I thought it was fast food restaurant that specialize in making rice bowls, boy was I wrong. The menu makes its best attempt of having everything that one would consider eating, when thinking of Asian food such as adobo, kalbi, orange chicken, and sushi. While variety can be excellent at times, this establishment fails at executing this properly. I was instantly turned off by the presentation of the food, as it looked as if had been in warmer for quite sometime and needed to be changed. Since I was hungry, I disregarded it and decided to order some chow mien and spicy orange chicken. The chicken didn’t taste too bad, but it wasn’t spicy. While the noodles were garbage as I taste the oil in the noodle. If your on base and looking for Asian food, this is the only place until Panda Express opens up at the food court in the exchange. For the time being I cannot recommend eating at this establishment. Pros: Its on base Its cheap. Plenty of places to sit Variety of items offered on the menu. Provides nutritional information for menu items. Cons: Presentation of the food is horrible The employees don’t seem too enthusiastic about working
