Rosarito Ensenada Ride

False advertisement. In November of 2013 we purchased a voucher which the hotel specifically indicated was valid for all weekends except holidays and specified dates. When asked they also stated it was valid for the valentines weekend of 2014. Many plans were made to partake in a nice weekend with friends. Well here we are and the hotel now stated it is invalid for those dates. They offered us another more expensive package. When we questioned the hotel they were indifferent and unsympathetic. Well we have always gone to Las Rosas Hotel down the road which is a much better hotel, more hospitable and intimate. Be careful with advertisements from hotel coral and marina. They are very deceiving and dishonest.

We just returned home from the April, 17, 2010 Ensenada to Rosarito 50 mile bike ride.
This was my husband’s 3^rd ride. I decided to try and do this ride a little over 100 days ago… had not been on a bike in about 15 yrs. So I purchased a bike, and began to train, 3 – 4 days totaling 70 – 80 miles per week. I ride the beach bike path (flat). We stayed at Coral and Marina in Ensenada which is very nice and the suites (with fridge and wet bar and separate living room) thru Expedia = less than $ 100 per night. The morning of the ride I was excited. The beginning of the ride was awesome along the beach, but once we went inland, we began going up hill… then up a VERY BIG hill (El Tigre) then up another big, looong hill, another hill and so on?! Then the last part of the race was down hill, so fast, so scary. Yikes! Rolling into Ensenada, the streets are pretty chopped up, I was so fatigued, I was sure to go down, but somehow powered through. I swore I’d never do it again. The fiesta at the finish line was super packed, stayed for a couple beers, picked up our medals and went back to the hotel. Hot tub, wine, shower and pizza delivery sealed the night. May even do it again, but not without a ton of training on the hills.
