Well worth the try. Our first time here & will be coming back. Our bartender was joe & he was awesome! Our favorite was the hard root beer.

We had the best of times, seeing a whole different side of San Diego. The guy who hosted us was very knowledgeable about his craft. We went there about 7 months ago and still remember like it was yesterday.

This place is fun. It’s tucked in a tiny corner in Old Town San Diego. A great place to wine taste plus they give you a coupon for a free appetizer at local restaurants(named on the coupon). The wines are great plus they also have beer tasting. I’m giving it 3 stars because although it is a cute cozy place to wine taste, the bad thing is that they should wave the tasting fee if you purchase a bottle of wine. I purchased 4 bottles but they didn’t wave the fee :(Most wineries I go to do this as a courtesy when buying their wines. That said, it was my second time visiting here & I really do enjoy it. A bit pricey at $ 15 for 5 tastes. But over all a chill place.

I guess it says something about my friends that I could find so many of them great presents from this awesome little shop in Old Town! Everything wine themed from magnets and coasters to tee shirts and decorative signs for the bar. I spent way more cash here than I ever intended but got some great stuff for myself and friends. Super cute place and a total must for anyone who loves wine and /or beer. I did not do the tastings but they are available. You must be 21 to enter because apparently this is technically a bar. Not a problem for my old ass but just FYI.

I had an excellent experience at Rose’s for my birthday. We came down to Old Town specifically to do a wine tasting at Rose’s and I’m glad we did. Joe, was our bartender and he was extremely knowledgable, personable, and fun to hang out with during our tasting. The wines are all from San Diego county, and they were surprisingly tasty. We will definitely be back!

Rudest attendents ever!!! My aunt bought a $ 25 gift and a $ 5 key chain, and while the attendant was wrapping the gifts, the key chain disappeared. The attendant ASSUMED that my aunt STOLE it and asked her to open her purse! Even opening it twice and making sure it wasn’t there the lady said she was calling the police! The manager of the store — not qualified at all for that job — was stating at us all the time without saying anything, just ironically smiling and also assuming that she stole it. We had to be loud and make a scene at the store about how disrespectful and rude they were, so they finally gave us the damn key chain that we have paid for and than we finally left. Store owner: i suggest you to hire more qualified employees ;)

Enjoyed the hidden little gem. While frequenting Rust inside old town a friend and I walked into to Rose’s and enjoyed our time there! The 2 lady servers there made the time fly by. From being 21 and up(which is refreshing inside of old town seeing as it is a tourist attraction for familes) to having limited seating made me feel like this is a place to unwind for a brief moment and sample some delicious wines. They alternate wineries monthly to keep an updated fresh menu. The free wine glass you recieve with your wine flight is a nice momento to take with you. I placed the card that had the wines I tried inside of it. The house Blue Sangria is refreshing and as the ladies(who once you get a moment to speak with have charm) recommended I waited till the last glass for my flight to try it as it would have overpowered the other wines I tried. Only not a 5 Star because the wine I truly wanted to try was out. One of the ladies did have what seemed to be an attitude but it mellowed out as more people arrived.

I would give this place no stars if I could for the Service. Our family was walking from shop to shop and we walked in to look at the items for sale. The girl working barked at us we couldn’t bring a child inside. While I respect and understand there are laws we clearly missed the 8×11 sign and she could have nicely stated it was over 21 without addressing us so rudely. Being a head of retail operations for several fortune 500 companies you never treat or speak to a customer in this manner. By the looks of the empty store seems they lack in many things. good luck!

Using my souvenir glass from Rose’s tonight I decided to see what Unilocal had to say about this place and I am shocked to find that I am the first review! We accidentally found Rose’s while dodging the rain. I was waiting for some free tortillas(that I never got) and upon surrender found my husband has bellied up to this tasting room’s bar. Well, OK! Twist my arm! From first glance this place is quaint and welcoming. We were the only ones there but that soon changed as more people dove in to dry off. The lady tending bar was nice enough but not impressively knowledgeable about what was being poured. I did a wine flight(included a souvenir glass), hubs did beer flight(no glass offered… too bad because they were cute). Didn’t really love any of the wines though the sangria was interesting. Hubby liked the unique ginger-infused beer but wasn’t over the moon about the other samples. I forget the cost for our drinks but I want to say it was about $ 12 for mine and $ 8 for his, but don’t quote me on that! One group of ladies came in and did what I conclude was the wise thing — grab a single $ 3(again, don’t quote me) pour and park at the standing-only table in one of the gift areas. Chat and sip and enjoy being in San Diego. You’re basically drinking inside a wine-themed gift shop so you eventually might break down and take home kitschy booze-themed wall décor or set of glasses with witty sayings. Saw lots of stuff that had me tempted but nothing ended up in my luggage. Did I like this place? Yes. Overly impressed? No. Will I return? Maybe.
