first they are too arrogant and does not want to take feedback if any. we organized birthday event and ordered food from She-E-Penjab. the food was of inferior quality(refrigerated) and even the deserts(rasmalai) were frozen and was not even thawed. when we went there and provided the feedback, they blatantly rejected it and overwhelmingly said that their food is always fresh. next time, when we called then to order just some starters, they said that they will get back but never called. And when i called them to give the feedback, instead of apologizing, they seemingly had no concerns about it and again were talking arrogantly stopped going there …

YUM! I came here on a random weekday night since it’s opened for dinner and it’s right near my dentist’s office. Their vegetarian dishes or «platters» come with daal, rice, raita, and naan. I got the channa masala(I know, super basic) and it was perfect. The raita and the daal are a bit spicy which I really liked. Overall, it was a ton of food for $ 9 and I’ll definitely be back.

I’m seriously obsessed. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to find this place! On a lunch run to my usual salad destination recently, I had a last minute change of heart and just wasn’t feeling a bed of greens that day. It was cold-ish, I was pretty hungry and I wanted something saucy… I wandered around the small little strip and ventured in and out of a couple places before entering Sher E Punjab for the first time. I have to admit, I didn’t even check Unilocal first! I noticed their killer lunch special($ 6.99 for 1 meat, 1 veggie, rice, salad & naan!) and couldn’t resist. It looked bomb, it was pretty busy and the price was right. Sign me up. I got back to work and dove in. Damn player, so good. So much flavor. This ish is delish! I gobbled up every single bite — soaking up every bit of sauce with my naan. I was hooked. I checked Unilocal immediately after and realized that you all knew about this place forever and haven’t told me. Thanks jerks. I’ve been back almost every day since — I’m not even ashamed to admit that. Masala and Korma — give it all to me. I’m a fan!

My friends and I came here on a Friday to take advantage of their all you can eat deal. For less than $ 10, you get a buffet-style authentic Indian meal! The staff was friendly, and the owner even went the extra mile by interacting with the patrons.

The best place for indian food for this price range. Literally all you can eat for under $ 10 and the food is great and authentic food. I’m from India and I can tell you these guys know how to make real Indian food. The guys are also really friendly and enjoy chatting with the customers and they do their best to make the place like home. For someone who misses India, this place was amazing and I’m definitely going to come back!

Came in, TV was off(sometimes it’s on to MTV India or something Indian), which was nice. Got my lunch, started eating, the dude behind the counter turned on the TV to CNN. I said«aw, come on man, anything but CNN.» The channel didn’t change for a few seconds so I turned around and said«No. Seriously. Anything but CNN.» The dude got an s-eating grin on his face, so I left my mostly-uneaten lunch on the table. It’s bad enough for a place to have CNN on, it’s another thing entirely to disrespect customers. NEVERAGAIN.(and I like their food)

Tried Indian food for the first time here!(so theres that before you interpret my review) Got there and ordered around 11:30 before the lunch rush, it gets pretty busy here in the Sorrento Valley business district! Pleasantly surprised, but not that shocked that I liked it because I love all Asian food. Tried the Chicken Tikka Masala and it had a very rich flavor. I know Indian foods use a lot of spices to create their dishes and it was really tasty. It had a little spiciness to it but not too much. The chicken was soft and tender. Also my boyfriend suggested the Chicken Korma and it did not disappoint! Creamy, but it did feel a little greasy towards the end. There was also this okra veggie dish that my boyfriend got and it was also nice. Never tried okra before; tastes kind of like a zucchini. I think it was supposed to be crispy but it was kind of soggy. Their yogurt tastes like a really sour Greek yogurt which I didn’t particularly like. I love the soft Naan bread that it comes with too. Can’t say too much because I have nothing to compare to and don’t really know Indian food, but I’m a fan. It’s super cheap too. I got the lunch combo #3(one meat, one veggie, naan, rice, yogurt or salad) for only $ 6.99! There are many vegetarian options as well.

Location: Next to the Croutons and Shallot here in the complex Décor: Has the usual plastic chairs and tables. Has a buffet setup near the counter. Food & Drinks: NOTE: I am only rating this off their BUFFET on Friday and Saturdays. Where I believe it is $ 10 or $ 11 for AYCE Indian food.(I think their normal menu prices are okay) Me and my girlfriend always love to come here for their weekend buffet. We use to come here a lot when we lived closer to UCSD. They offer a variety of foods for anyone, including meat dishes(usually chicken, sometimes they might have lamb) like tandoori chicken and have a lot of vegetarian options like their sambusas(my favorite). The flavors are pretty good, but not too strong on the spices so it’ll be good if you have a fairly week stomach like me. They also serve you naan bread once you sit down. So much to chose from and they have a couple of different dishes each time. Happy eating until you die my friends! :)

Can’t go wrong with chicken curry or the Chicken Tikka Masala. I prefer the plain naan over the garlic. I also don’t care much for the yogurt sauce. I also like their buffet deals on friday.

Clean, reasonable prices, especially for the buffet which has a lot of the traditional favorites. Everything I tried was fresh and pretty darn good. The employees were nonexistent and didn’t speak to us much. One employee was on his cell phone the whole time we were checking out. Not the best and definitely not the worst Indian food I’ve had. I’d probably come back for lunch.

This place s pretty legit. There is another spot, way over by the 15 and Miramar Rd, that my lunch crew like a little better but we still go here about once a month(mostly because it’s a lot closer). The Good: Fast friendly service. The Chapati bread here is really good. The Bad: Crazy busy during lunch, gets hit hard by the Qualcomm employees. Parking lot is sketchy, I park way behind the little parking structure to maintain my sanity. The Ugly: One time I ate a big bite of the pickeled lemon stuff they have here as a condiment. Then my mouth exploded. 4 hours later, something else exploded. Overall, Punjabi Tandoor is a solid choice for Indian food. I’d like to try the buffet some day, but it’s weird driving up to Sorrento Valley on the weekend and gives me the work shivers.

Came here for lunch with my parents. We had the all-you-can-eat buffet. My favorite has to be the classic chicken tiki masala, the white rice and the naan. While my friends and I love Indian food, my parents have trouble adapting to culturally ethnic cuisines. Yet it was still them that suggested we try out Indian for their first time. In the end, they weren’t accustomed to the food but mentioned that the chicken tiki masala and the tandoori chicken were their favorites of the meal. The naan was also good to them. So I guess these items may be good for people trying Indian food for the first time.

Had a craving for samosas. and a friend recommended this place. ordered the 2 meat combo. it came with Naan bread and 2 small sides… The lunch price is fabulous and they do give you alot of food. It’s not the best Indian food I had. but it will do for a lunch meal

I came here because punjabi tandoor wasn’t open on time. But thank god for that because the curries here are bomb! I ordered the chicken makhani and the chicken korma to go(16oz). It comes in a plastic circular container which I appreciate because some Indian stores put the curry in really shitty containers that spill at the slightest movement. The chicken makhani was my favorite! It was super creamy and had the right thickness consistency. I wasn’t a big fan of the chicken korma at all. For some reason, it was insanely salty and didn’t satisfy me. Their garlic naan is amazing. Always gotta have the garlic naan. Price: $ 22

After visiting Sher E Punjab for the Saturday lunch buffet, I must say that I’m quite impressed. For $ 8.99, you get unlimited access to basmati rice, curries(chicken/lamb/veggie), samosas and other Indian delights. This is a great way to try new dishes if you’re new to Indian cuisine. My favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Curry. The former is my go-to Indian dish and it was just as good, if not better, here compared to other Indian restaurants. The sauce had a wonderful flavor and was creamy and smooth with large chunks of chicken breast. This was my first time trying the Chicken Curry but found the flavor to be nice and mild. It seems like a great starter dish for newcomers. The Chicken Tikka from the tandoor was decent but it seemed a little too fatty for my taste. I prefer simple chunks of pure chicken breast. The samosas, which are deep-fried pastries with potatoes and peas, are usually one of my favorites but I think this batch was cooked a little too long and it was a but too crispy. You get a plate of regular naan with your buffet and while I prefer garlic naan, the regular naan does a great job of soaking up the curries as well. We’ll definitely be back for the lunch buffet again!

Lunch Specials! The food is really good. The chicken tikka masala and raita are my favorites. Service is nothing to rant and rave about but they are very nice. I will definitely return here as often as I could if I’m ever craving fast and delicious Indian Food.
