On my way to work while dropping off my kids to the baby sitter this morning I freaken hit the curb with the bottom of my car in the front! I was pissed! I was running late so didn’t think nothing major was affected although it sounded bad when I hit. As soon as I was going to get on the the freeway, my car started making this loud scraping sound. I thought my tire had popped! I immediately located Simply since they were near me geographically. Mario came out and looked at my car. I drive a new car and I guess there is this layer of black plastic covering everything down there well I cracked that and now my wheel was dragging it. Mario immediately got to work and had to remove it completely and didn’t charge me a thing to help me! Although he is a body shop and an auto repair, my car is under warranty so I think I’ll go to my dealer to replace the part but I am very appreciative for his help in my unfortunate situation. Thanks Simply Auto Tech and I will try not to be in such a hurry next time. :/​But good news I made it to work on time in one peice. :)

I came here and initially thought they were fantastic but they really dropped the ball over time. I bought a pretty rough used car and it needed some work, they fixed the AC and power steering fine. It had some minor damage in the front and needed a new grill. They replaced the grill but not the emblem. I had to ask 4 times or more for it and I still never got it. I also asked for a basic check over the entire car to make sure it was safe. I had been back a few times to get some issues solved and every time I asked for this they never completed it! Finally they said everything was fine. When I went to another place recently come to find the reason my car vibrates so much is the engine mount was completely gone. Something that would have been noticed if they actually did check my car out! Also they did a wheel alignment on my car, got it back with the steering wheel turned to the side when driving straight, and it was done so bad that the inside of my tires where so bald they were about to burst. I’ve been bringing my cars here at Simply Auto Tech for over 5 years. They do not disappoint. Most importantly is the customer service I receive. They go above and beyond to take care of you. Every customer as varying needs to be met and I sense that this happens here. The place doesn’t look like much but its a diamond in the rough. In all my years, I haven’t ever had to bring my car back due to poor maintenance or servicing. It is always a pleasure to come by and drop my vehicles off as they make it as simple as possible.

I was in here the other day to get my car checked out and an oil change. When a shop is run by family, they treat your customers like family. They were talking to me and joking around with me and other customers making it feel like not just friends but family was working on my car. I didn’t bring enough oil for my change and they had the same brand and topped me off a little free of charge. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this place. It pays to have a mechanic that loves cars work on yours because care goes into the work. ¹⁰⁄₁₀

If you have a BMW… these guys are the REAL DEAL!!! Do not look any further… straight up guys with encyclopedic knowledge of the BMW.

I feel obligated to write a review because I’m shocked that there is only one. I totally agree with this person. The people there are straightforward and don’t seem interested in plus selling. They diagnose the problem quickly, tell you what’s wrong, and then fix it if you approve. This isn’t the dealership. It’s a fairly small shop with mechanics who appear to enjoy working on and talking about cars. The plus side is that they appear to have low overhead costs and so you are paying for your car to be repaired and not some fancy shop with service writers, car washers and all kinds of extra crap. I’m not going to get too carried away as I have only been here 3 times. However, when they tell me the cost I always call the dealership and get an estimate for the same work. It’s close to half the price here and honestly I feel like they are more in tune with what older cars need to keep them on the road. The dealer (and others) try to make you buy enough parts and services to make your car brand new again. I want the problem fixed and my car back on the road. If they noticed something else obviously wrong, I trust they would let me know. My car will go here every time. Mario seems to be a very ethical man.

Brought my car in since it was intermittently not starting after replacing my battery. They took a look at it tightened all the connections and fixed the piece of metal that held the battery in place, all free of charge! Awesome service.

This is a great place to take care of your car.
I’ve been using Simply Auto ever since I bought my Audi TT roadster. They take amazing care of my car; they know what they are doing and they are trustworthy-I’m always confident that they are always being honest with me.

I drive in from Santee to use these guys. I’ve got an older Toyota and other shops charge a premium because of the mileage. These guys think about the cost & time to fix based on their experience. You’ll see everything up to high end cars to mine getting serviced. If you want a fair price and and getting downtown is an option this place is great.

Mario is the most knowledgeable repair guy in the San Diego area. His prices can’t be beat. And he’s extremely honest, won’t repair something you don’t need.
I have an older American car, I always have problems.
I’ve gone to other repair shops like Advantec, which have great reviews, deservedly so, smart guys and great customer service. But, when I price shop with Mario, he is always able to beat their prices, plus find ingenious ways to fix big Problems that will end up costing only a third of other great places like Advantec.
A whole transmission change with Advantec was quoted at $ 2,000. With Mario it turned into a computer check with Mario atsuggesting to replace the torque converter for just $ 600. Check engine light gone, passed smog test, 3 yrs later the car is running like new.
Today I shopped two other places for brake changes and rotors, Mission Bay Auto in Morena blvd was too busy today, the next was charging $ 200 for just brake change alone, and Mario charged $ 190 for both problems resolved in Half the time.
Picking up my car, extremely happy.

I was referred to Mario and his team by another auto body shop that was unable to do the type of repair I needed. They’re open til 5 on Saturday which was great. I came in because my driver side door would not open from the inside. Mario started on my car right away and was done in no time. They were very honest and fair about the cost of the repair.
