So I came here for lunch today and just should have NEVER came. the prices are ridiculous espcially for the small amount of food you get. I ordered the spicy chicken bento for dine in and they gave it to me on some UGLY clear togo box(nothing like the pictures on the menu).the rice was too acidic and spoiled the flavor of the chicken. The whole time the person cooking my food was coughing(probably spitting in it too) and when he came out, he was wearing a blue surgical mask… sorry but if you’re sick you shouldnt be preparing food to people especially when most of your menu is raw! He took my order too and it was absolutely impossible to hear him through his mask. and HE was getting frustrated while taking my order?! I thought I’d give it a shot because of its decent reviews… BUT I WOULDNEVERSUPPORTTHISDISGUSTINGBUSINESSEVERAGAIN! If you want to sit in discomfort listening to them nag in the kitchen while you are eating then this is the place for you! And if you feel like wasting cash on baby portions this will be your favorite spot!!!

Some of the prices were a bit much, but most other restaurants I’ve been to ask for around the same price, so I can’t really complain on this one. No other customers were there when I came in at 3pm. Although I got what I asked for, I wouldn’t come here again, or at least become a regular.

This place is great– nestled in a cute new shopping square, Sushiman has a great menu(could be easier to read on a phone) and fast service. I called my order in when I was down the street, replied to about 5 text messages when I got there, and my order was ready. The place is clean, the staff are friendly(Min was very helpful) and the vibe is family-friendly. If I lived closer, I might just order take out here more often. ANDTHEYRECYCLE! Yessss.

Despite the current overall ratings(3 stars) I decided to stop by SushiMan on my lunch break. Arrived just before noon on a Wednesday and it was absolutely dead. I noticed they had a special lunch deal for every day of the week(at a decent price), which is definitely a plus. The girl behind the counter was nice and even recommended a couple of popular dishes, in which I decided to go with the Spicy Ahi Poke. As with other reviews about SushiMan, she easily upsold me with the 25 cent bowl of miso soup. The food came out fairly quickly and I really enjoyed it. The portion size was definetly fair for 10 dollars but what really surprised me was the freshness(especially the ahi, though it had a little too much sauce). Each individual item of the combo was tasty and didnt feel like a cheap extra. Left stuffed, will be back.

I eat here practically every weekend on my break. Sushi is really delicious and fresh! Customer service is great and all the staff is wonderful and easy to talk to. Really affordable for all the food you get! Highly recommend.

I pretty much only order avocado/cucumber rolls whenever I get sushi, because it’s pretty straightforward and it’s a nice light meal on hot days. Even at some of the worst sushi places, the avocado/cucumber roll is almost always good, because it’s really difficult to mess up. For some reason, SushiMan’s avocado/cucumber roll comes with some sort of mayonnaise sauce, which is just so bizarre to me. The price was cheap and the food came quickly, so that was good, but I likely won’t be going back. I prefer my boring veggies, rice, and sushi without the extra condiments.

So… not the best but not the worst sushi I’ve had. Service is nice enough and they’re quick. Salad dressing is boring. Rolls are huge but they’re mostly rice and the spicy tuna was oozing out like orange fluid w/masago. I won’t be back… plus they charge for spicy mayo :(

The quality of the ingredients has gone down since my first review. Food still comes out in a timely manner. Avocado boba was more condensed milk than anything else. I’m not sure why they skimped so much on the avocado. No more free miso soup :(. They’ve replaced it with two free gyoza and a small salad. Miso soup is now 25 cents… so much for hot water & powder lol.

Sushiman it is not the best sushi in town, but it’s really worth! Yes the rolls are kind if big but they do taste good. Store is always clean, service is good. Have nothing really to complain… Been here many times, l and never had a bad experience. Their spicy ahi poke is really, really good.

We came here because we only had a half hour to eat dinner before the movie. I stuck to my rule when eating at a fast food sushi place = nothing raw. I ordered the Masago Maki(California rolls with Masago on the outside) and a miso soup. My husband ordered a Philadelphia roll and a Spicy Tuna roll. While we were waiting for our food I read the reviews and I’m not going to lie. I was scared on how extreme the reviews were. The waitress/cashier(who was very nice) brought our food, including the 25 cent miso soup and complimentary salad and gyozas. The food was«okay» — the miso soup was lukewarm(I would have preferred hotter). The rolls were HUGE… about twice the size of a regular roll. It make it actually hard to get the whole roll in your mouth so you end up having ½ the roll and missing ½ the ingredients. I appreciate that this place offers great value for the prices but I’d recommend making normal size rolls. The place is clean and the service is nice. I wouldn’t avoid this place but I’m not going out of my way to come here either.

Wow, the food was seriously just gross. I ordered some combo that came with udon soup and a tempura crunch roll, and also ordered a philly hand roll. My udon was lukewarm, and the rolls had a funny taste, though the tempura roll seemed not so bad to me. My boyfriend ordered various nigiri like squid, salmon, yellow tail, tuna roll, etc. Long story short after eating for about 10 minutes, my bf and I exchanged wary looks, then agreed we both wanted to toss our food and we have NEVER thrown our dinner away, always get a doggie bag. We both ended up barfing that night our stomachs hurt so bad. So literally, $ 40 down the toilet and in the trash. We should have taken a hint when we looked to our left at the Indian place that was jam packed, and to the right the Italian spot had a line out the door, and SushiMan was empty. The guy who took our order was very sweet and polite though, brought our food out to us in a jiff. I really hate giving bad reviews, just don’t want anyone else to waste their money.

First time so let’s see! Very nice and i loved my order. It was a Saturday special and boy was it nicely made and fresh. I wanted to place another order just to take for lunch the next day! Definitely will be back and have since alerted fellow friends and family to check it out. Nice place to sit before a movie and get some good sushi. The bento boxes looked really good too. The female behind the desk was very nice and even brought my order to me outside where I was sitting.

I had a good first experience. And the fact they had gluten free soy sauce packets sealed it for me. For the great price I wasn’t expecting fantastic sushi. But it was very very decent. I’ll just order less rice next time in the«hand roll».

This place rocks! The food is cheap and good quality! I always get the spicy ahi poke bento box! It’s the bomb! The place needs to post their hours online somewhere though. Don’t think their website is up yet either. But the food is great!

Spicy tuna poke is good. the food is good, just a little overpriced. The rolls are too big! I can barely fit one in my mouth, and it forces me to chew with my mouth open hoping that stuff doesn’t fall out haha lol. The rolls aren’t tight enough to simply take a bite, it falls apart. That’s why I would rather get the poke bowl. Good tasting food if I’m in the area, but wouldn’t drive out of my way for it.

This is a cool and enjoyable place to grab sushi for a really low price. Each and every time I have gone here I have always had fresh and clean meals. These guys do there best to serve up Sushi when you need it. On sunny days its great to grab sushi and sit out side by the water. I still go in to get more and let the dogs and kids play out doors. I have been pleased with all the service so far. I will continue to go there for as long as we stay close to the shopping center. Thank you SushiMan. Cheers.

Is it the best sushi I’ve ever had? No. But it definitely isn’t the worst… and it sure satisfies my sushi cravings fast! Their rolls are bigger than average and are reasonably priced. My usual order is the«Dynamite Maki,» which comes with a free miso soup. For sushi takeout in Clairemont, SushiMan is the place to go!

To be honest, the pictures of the sushi on the menu do NOT look appetizing. They could at least have taken better pictures of the food and not in dim lighting etc. They had a beef roll and a chicken teriyaki roll. and I thought that was random because no authentic sushi place will you ever see a roll like that. On a lighter note, for being a fast food joint, the sushi was pretty good! I shared the family plate which comes with salmon, albacore, shrimp, egg, and tuna nigiri and small cucumber & salmon rolls. And I ordered the ahi poke don bowl which was basically just tuna chopped up in small pieces over rice, but I thought it was appetizing!

I came to SushiMan the other day for the first time because it was on my list of places to visit. The location of this sushi place is a convenient one because it’s surrounded by lots of shops(Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx, CVS, other food shops) and the movie theatre is only a couple feet away. SushiMan is not your tradiational sushi restaurant though, it’s more of a fast food sushi place if that makes sense. The set-up confused me at first because they have a monitor screen that faces you when you stand in front to order so I initially thought it was self-order type of thing. Turns out, the waiter orders from her screen and then it would translate over to your screen so you can see your order and the total as well. We ordered the Dragon Maki(7.99), Spicy Salmon Maki(7.49), the Dynamite Maki(8.49) and the Tempura Don Donburi(7.99). The cool thing about this place is that a lot of their items on the menu come with a free side of Miso Soup including all the Maki’s and all the Donburi’s… So in total, we got 4 Miso soups! We chose to sit inside but you can also sit outside if there’s a table. Inside, there are only about 5 tables though so seating is pretty limited. The food was brought to us by the cashier so that was pretty cool. Our miso soup was split evenly into two and was held in a big styrofoam cup, loved it! It was delicious and tasted perfect after taking bites of the rolls. My only complaint about the miso soup is that it did not include any tofu pieces! I really liked how the food was brought out in trays and was very efficient. If you didn’t finish your sushi and wanted to get it to-go, the sushi is already held in these trays and you just needed to go to the table near the drink vending machine and get a plastic lid for it and that was that! The sushi rolls itself were pretty good too :)) And everything was a really great price. One thing I have to mention is that… THESEROLLSAREFAT hahaha. They’re cut really big and they also had a lot of substance in them, not just mostly rice which was nice. I recommend all three of the maki rolls that I got! One thing that I didn’t like about this place was that when we asked for spicy mayo sauce after she brought out all the sushi, she told us that it cost extra for the spicy mayo. I forgot how much she said it was but i think it was around $.50-$.75. That sort of turned me off because I feel like a sushi restaurant should provide spicy mayo free of charge…
