This is a little pool/restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. Son and I arrived and the room wasn’t ready and we headed here to grab some food. Drink: Sauvignon Blanc. Server brought it quickly. Food: Caesar salad w/grilled chicken. It was standard except they added some crispy prosciutto, but the chicken didn’t seem cooked all the way. Son ordered the St Louis Ribs and said he didn’t like them at all. Husband arrived and ordered a Moscow Mule. Upon check-in at hotel we got a coupon for free chips & salsa. We ordered them, and chips were good, but salsa was thick like a spaghetti sauce; weird. Why 3 stars? Service was very good. Our server was fast and when she noticed that husband had been sitting too long without his drink she removed the charge from the tab. Awesome. Plus, they gave me generous pours of my wine. They need to work on their menu to improve. FYI, they are the only bar at hotel open late. We returned around 11:30pm. They have a ping pong table & Foosball table outside with seating. Hubby and I had an intense Foosball game(I won!) and several Moscow Mules(tried their cucumber one, meh) and their regular one seemed a tad too sweet for me. But at night, great atmosphere to sit outside(they closed around 12:30).

Waited 15 minutes, finally attracted server, she asked me to wait, 10 minutes went by, attracted a different server, ordered one beer, went another 15 minutes, no beer and got up and left. On way out, passed server number 2 with meals for people who order after me, said he would be right with me… Will not return

Me and my boyfriend came to the bar to have dinner and drinks. We sat down at the bar and was waiting for one of the 3 bartenders to serve us. They were serving people who ordered drinks standing up next to us. And they were making drinks right in front of us and we were ignored for about 10 minutes. We decided to leave and we’re never coming back.

Nice, kind of upscale, but still casual little pool bar/lounge. You can eat/drink inside or out at the pool. Have been here a few times, and best is the tropical atmosphere, view over the Harbor on one side and pool on the other, and fire pit in back. You can even purchase a S’mores«kit» w/sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate. You pay for the convenience($ 16), but it’s easily enough for 4, so not bad. Not a huge menu, but they have a few apps, salads, sandwiches, burgers, plates of 3 tacos(the grilled fish were pretty good), all about $ 10 – 15, and 4 kids’ meals for $ 5 – 7. They also have some nice wines, beer and cocktails.

for hotel type food, they were way better than average… the good: …the swim salad with steak was a healthy hit …chicken wings were nice and spicy …hamburger was good… great if you’re tired and don’t want to drive …brownie dessert was good …room service was less than 30 minutes …service was pretty attentive… pool area is crazy chaos on the weekends …smores over the fire pit at night the bad: …pizza tasted like chef boy ardee, but my child liked it(light sauce… cheese only) the ugly: …drunk old guys at bar with loud cursive mouths(family atmosphere???)

We had a Cuban sandwich, and it was pretty good. Not totally authentic– it needed to be grilled/pressed flatter and(I hate to say it) but it should have been a bit greasier to be more like the real thing. The sandwich has pulled pork, ham, and cheese on a bread that has been grilled crispy and(relatively) flat. The sandwich is a generous size, and comes with a light picante sauce for dipping– good on both the sandwich and the Plantain chips that came with it. There were Lots of plantain chips which were crisp, and very nicely fried. We also had the Angus burger, which was quite flavorful and a good size. The beef had a good char flavor and good overall taste. The bun was actually fresh and tasty. The whole burger came with sliced tomato, red onions, lettuce, & with catsup and mayo on the side. Also LOTS of fries, We are guests at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina and access is only through the pool area at the hotel. so I have to assume that this is pretty much for guests only. The lounge has a nice feel comfortable chairs in additions to just a few(6 or 7?) tables for seated eating. The bar area seats about a dozen people for drinks or food. A nice touch for the atmosphere is that, in addition to a nice view of the marina and the outside pool area right outside the front door, there is a circular 800 gallon aquarium in the middle of the room, with saltwater fish– not for eating! There is a flat screen TV, which had a basketball game on when we were there. They also sell a smores kit, that makes about a dozen(?) smores for about $ 20, which is great for kids(or grown ups!) to take right outside and toast on the tiki bonfires right outside the restaurant. The food we had was tasty, but of course as a «captive-hotel-guest» facility, it’s over priced for what you get. Having said that, the atmosphere was comfortable, the serving staff was nice, and this is a 3.5 stars that I’ll round down to 3 stars due to accessibility and price.

This small Lounge is located at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. Seems though that you may need to be a guest of this hotel, as I had to use my room key card to get through some gates at the pool area. The bar counter sits about ten people and the lounge area has seven tables and six chairs that surrounds the circular 800 gallon aquarium. There is a flat screen TV, but it wasn’t on this evening. This lounge is next to the multiple swimming pools and outdoor fireplace, hence the name of ‘SWIM’. The floor to ceiling windows and doors invites you to gaze out to the bay, marina and sunsets. Their menu is a Pan-Latino cuisine with a Cuban flair to the traditional bar staples. Today, I had their Cuban sandwich(pulled pork, sliced ham, swiss cheese) which comes with mojo dipping sauce and some plantain chips. I had also tried the Angus burger with comes with fries and a mustard herd dip. Both were good, but I preferred the Cuban sandwich. So, if you’re a guest at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, stop by for a cocktail, Well Drink, glass of wine or a beer. If you want, take your drink outdoors to enjoy the fire pit with friends and family while watching the sunset.
