The barbecue here is really good. The only thing that I would have to say is on Thursday is when they serve the lechon kawali but every time i go in it’s always gone(I usually go around 2 – 230). Maybe they should make more or something but other then that. Food is great.

I thought the food was okay. It’ll serve in a pinch if you’re craving Filipino food. The restaurant did give the not-so-clean vibe though.

Small Filipino joint that serves bbq. Pretty good but a lot of the chicken pieces I ordered were burnt. Didn’t bother saying anything, since several of their bbq were burnt. Could have been a bad day for the cook. If I wanted a bbq fix, I would probably try this place again. Staff does certainly hook it up, although half the pieces will be burnt.

Delicious Filipino food for a good price! The owner is very sweet and hooks it up :) My favorite is the spicy chicken… It has a kick, but the rice balances it out nicely Must try forsure! It’s a well $ 5 spent I seriously recommend this to ALL my friends. Fantastic service!

Always great bbq chicken and pork. Actually any entrée is always awesome. The skinny noodle pancit is delicious. But I’m am not a fan of their fried rice or the fat noodle pancit. I don’t know why they have the fat noodle, people get it but no one actually likes it.

I love getting Filipino food back in SF so when I heard about this place, I was so excited to try it out. I can’t say that this is the best Filipino food I’ve had but it’s probably the best(if not the only one) in SD. You have the option of one to three sides along with either steamed rice or noodles or both if you ask em. There’s apparently a different selection to choose from every day but the most popular and my favorite has to be the BBQ Pork. You HAVE to get the barbecue sauce over the pork cause it makes it hella more flavorful. I usually get extra just to put more on the pork and some on the rice. So dank… You can eat inside but the tables are only big enough for two. I usually get it to go and the service is so fast that I’m in and out within a minute or two. Don’t have to ask for water either cause they have water cups out for you to get yourself.

All of the food is super good & very reasonably priced w/huge portions. The spicy chicken is my favorite. Curry chicken is bomb too. The bbq chicken seems most popular, & it’s very good as well

If you like Hawaiian Style lunch plate you’ll love this place! A reviewer said they pack it like slop… Is there any other way? That’s just how I like it. You get so much food an affordable price. The staff is friendly. I’ve been going there for more than 10 years and they have the same Mexican dude cooking Filipino Food. Dude is knows his Filipino Food. Heck, I’m going there after I finish writing this review.

Had their BBQ chicken and pancit. It wasn’t bad at all, but nothing special either. They pack it looking like slop though. lol

I used to come here for Filipino food, but it looks like their food is starting to fall short on flavor and taste. I might have to come back here again to see if it was an off day but I was just not too happy with their food this time around. It is normally packed with flavor and I leave satisfied. This time… not so much :(

Their BBQ chicken and BBQ beef can be really good(nothing really compared to Phil’s BBQ) but most likely than not their food is way too burnt and ruins the experience for me. I come here occasionally since it’s close to my workplace during the week but usually I am turned off when they serve me burnt food. Their soup is way too sour for my taste, I’d stay away from that. Come here knowing that your food may be burnt. Sometimes the lunch options near my workplace is just too scarce that I end up coming here anyway and just pick off as much of the burnt stuff on my BBQ chicken and beef and eat away. It’s steam tray style so they cook their items in large batches so it’s kind of expected with their burnt food potential but it’s sometimes bearable.

New ownership has fostered poor execution. After reading nearly a dozen reviews I was convinced that this was the place to go for some Filipino grub in Mira Mesa aka«Manila» Mesa. I walked in and noticed immediately that there was no barbecue for sale and what they were offering had seen better days. Maybe the Unilocalers hyped this place too much, but for me, this was a case of more NOT meeting the eye. They had six prepared dishes warming in trays and nothing looked appealing. They did have two trays of chopped barbecued chicken in the window, but they looked pretty dry. I was expecting barbecue sticks, fried flesh and a packed dining room. What I got was lunch leftovers, empty seats, and a growling belly. On to the next one…

I came here based on a recommendation from a friend. This place kind of reminds me of a Filipino Panda Express. I guess I was initially disappointed when I didn’t see any flames or food on a flame grill. I’m new to Filipino BBQ, so I don’t have a reference point as to gauge the quality of Filipino BBQ. I tried the BBQ pork and chicken. The portions were huge and it was a good price. However, the food did taste like it’s been out for awhile and was too saucy/sweet for bbq meat. I prefer the meat to be more fresh, tender, and savory. It’s good enough to warrant a return visit, but only based on convenience(if I’m visiting my friends in Mira Mesa, or too lazy to drive far for food)

If you’re in the need for a quick fix during lunch and you like Filipino BBQ you will not be disappointed. Don’t let the relatively low ratings deter you, allow me to explain. This place has more of a Panda Express style of serving With the standard one, two, or three item lunches. The two item was around $ 6.85 I think and they stack you with the portions. I only got the BBQ beef and chicken but man was it good. Right before serving they made sure to add a little sauce and give the batch a quick mix so that my portion was flavorful. They were also cool people in general giving you samples as long as you asked. This is by far not a fancy place, but rather a quick and cheap lunch place. As long as you are not expecting gourmet presentation in a restaurant setting I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself.

Tem’s is my go-to spot for lunch. I work right down the street, so it’s convenient and fairly priced noms. My favorite items are the bbq pork, bbq chicken, spicy pork and beef stew. Yummmm! I would skip on the grilled fish though, it doesn’t taste fresh at all and is super fishy. The service is fast and friendly. The portions are HUGE. Come and try some asian bbq. You’ll dig it.

Located in the Mira Mesa Food Court area, this place is rather hidden. The outdoor seating is rather big so the people eating next to you could be having something from another place. My decision to come here was very last minute and convenient because it was really close to where we were. Hubby ordered the steamed rice with the two entrees: the chicken curry and the bbq chicken, which were both excellent! They had about 10 entrees to choose from but that’s what we went with. The chicken curry tasted like what we used to eat in Singapore, I felt like I was back there again and it brought back memories. Delicious! The bbq chicken was very tasty and probably one of the best bbq chicken I had in a long time. All that was about $ 6! I didn’t think something so cheap can taste so good but this place proved me wrong. It’s unfortunate that I don’t work near this place, otherwise I’d be here more often. Needless to say, we’ll be back!

I may not be filipino, but all my neighbors are. Hey… I’m from Manilla Mesa so you know there has gotta be some hidden spots of filipino food. This place is located next to Subway and Donut Touch in the plaza where Bev and Mo and Fresh and Easy are. Who would have thunk that a random place would be so good. We ordered the 3 item combo. We got the bbq chicken. I FINALLY know the secret about why it’s red… they use paprika. The bbq chicken is grilled so it has the bbq taste and then it is a little bit sweet. I heard the use brown sugar. Whatever it is, the chicken isn’t dry at all. We had the beef stew. The beef was a little bit tough but the veggies(carrots, potatoes, celery) were all very tender. It tasted like my Moms! GASP! yup brings me back to my childhood when I would see my mom starting to cut up the veggies in the morning and then put it in the pressure cooker. *tear* Lastly we had the chicken curry. Filipino curry def taste different from japanese, or thai or indian curry. I guess if it would have to choose, it kind of taste a little like thai curry. It has a more creamy texture. The curry was loaded with shredded chicken that was very tender. It does have a kick with the red pepper flakes. Price: $ 6.89 for a 3 item combo… not too shabby for feeding 2 people. I think a 2 item combo is around $ 6.09. HOURS!: Since many people have been saying they dunno when it’s open… Monday-Friday: 10 – 7:00pm Sunday: closed! Saturday: 10 – 2:00pm ENJOY!

An extremely popular lunch spot for the office workers in west Mira Mesa, Tem’s Barbeque serves up some meaty meals for a reasonable price. Located in the half vacant Plaza Sorrento Shopping Center, I would probably never have selected it as a lunch spot if not for my friends’ recommendation. Wanting to try just about everything, I chose to go with the 4 item plate with rice. The choice was difficult but I finally decided on the barbecued chicken and pork, a chicken curry, and a beef curry. Without talking about each individually, they were all extremely tasty. I especially liked the pork, but found that both the barbecued items were a bit too sweet for my taste, but still not too bad. To avoid the inevitable food coma of finishing this massive meal in one sitting, I decided to take half home to enjoy as another meal. Tem’s is definitely a great place to get some good barbeque variety. Whether you’re craving chicken, pork, or beef, they will definitely have something that will satisfy your appetite. For less than $ 10, you can get a pretty hearty meal that you can easily enjoy as leftovers. With its great food and reasonable prices, it is no surprise that Tem’s is as popular as it is. If I worked in the local offices, I would definitely make it a regular weekly lunch spot, and recommend it to those who do. Food: 8⁄10 Service: 7⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 6⁄10
