Food is good, drinks are fine. My issue with this bar is that they hate America. We came here to watch the USMNT game and they played music the whole time and wouldn’t play the game audio. They call themselves a sports bar yet they play Will Smith Wild Wild West instead of game audio. I won’t be back.

I came here with a group for trivia last night and boy were we disappointed! One of my friends when calling the day before to reserve a table had specifically asked the manager when trivia was happening and they confirmed, every Wednesday at 730… so we all showed up a bit early to grab our table, drinks, and food and prepare for a night of trivia. Well when there was no sight of any trivia happening we at 740 asked our waitress what the deal was. Initially she said they were probably just running behind but within 15 min said that due to the NBA finals game they were waiting to start trivia. The plan was to still end trivia by 930, but it would just be cut short. We had called the day before and confirmed earlier that day online that trivia was happening and it was a big disruption to our night that trivia wasn’t going to actually start till after 9 pm, it was only going to be held till 930, and we were all so tired by 9 and the 2 year old couldn’t stay past 9 anyways that we left before trivia even began. We tried nicely to give the feedback to our waitress who became defensive and offered to us to talk to her manager. We didn’t need to talk to her manager, just wanted to pass along that the lack of communication had been a problem! As for the service(minus the defensiveness) it was good, the environment was fun, they have a cute little area in the back for games like corn hole and a giant jenga, and although I am not a big fan of their food options(because I am such a picky eater) most of everyone seemed to like what they got. I probably wouldn’t return here as a first choice, and not sure if our group will ever give their trivia another chance…

Came upon this restaurant while exploring the neighborhood on a Saturday afternoon. Cool décor and vibe. We ordered the breakfast burger, and it was delicious. Their bloody mary was awesome(they make their own mix). I’ve heard great things about the chubby benny, and will have to try that next time. Our server was attentive and friendly, and we chatted with the bartender Stephanie for awhile, and she was super friendly too! A great dining experience, and I will probably bring my doggy with me next time, as they have a cool looking dog friendly patio as well.

I never know quite how to feel about this place. I always felt like it didn’t fit between The Ould Sod and Sycamore Den, one an Irish Pub and the other a whiskey den. The Rabbit Hole is very much a sports bar that offers beer, food and live music. There is also an area in the back with an open roof to play corn hole. They have a decent beer selection, that is if you like IPAs and Ales. They do serve Cali’ Cremin’ which I usually start off with. However, the last time I went in they were out of the first three beers I asked for. Felt like I was playing Russian Roulette except with beer. The food is definitely bar food, obvious right? Well, I have been to many bars in San Diego that offer exceptionally good food for a decent price. The food at Rabbit Hole is mediocre and, I think, slightly overpriced. The nachos were enough for three people but didn’t have enough toppings, making them not nachos at the end. I know this sounds negative but I really don’t dislike this place. It’s great for grabbing a drink and watching a game. I think there are about 20 TVs, so chances are they can play whatever you request, minus the sound. There is also a fantastic cover band that plays on Saturdays; I believe they are called Miles Ahead. This place is big enough to handle a crowd and the staff does their best to get you a drink. I would stick to the drinkin’ at this place and not the eatin’ but maybe I’m just being harsh.

This is one of my go to place in Normal Heights. They are good from brunch to late night. The décor is great. Unique murals and rabbits everywhere. They have tons of TVs and are always showing games. If you love sports, you’ll like it here. They have fun events! I love coming for trivia on Wednesdays. They have a huge list of locally brewed beers and house made cocktails. the jackrabbit is my go to, whisky and grapefruit. The basil bunny is sweet and strawberry if you like sweeter things. The DC mule is also good, a twist on a Moscow mule. The Dude is what I get with brunch, a lebowski inspired coffee drink. Their food is good. They have a brunch menu with savory and sweet selections. Their chubby f***in bunny melt is my fave, pastrami and Mac n cheese on a sandwich. And to top it off, they are all ages here and also allow dogs on the patio. Many bars in the area aren’t like that. Go down the rabbit hole, you won’t regret it.

I have never eaten here, but I came in on a Saturday night to enjoy a drink while listening to some live music. This is a cool venue with good drinks. And, they have Cali Creamin’ on nitro, so that’s a huge win in my book! My friend got a gin and grapefruit juice, and the sip I had was awesome — they actually muddled fresh grapefruit in the bottom!(Judging by how fast she sucked it down, I think she enjoyed it, too.) The people seemed friendly except for the bartender that took care of us. It was a busy night, but my friend asked her to put our drinks on his card and close it out, since we had some plans to get to. She took his card and left, and started helping other people. He stood at the bar, desperately trying to get her attention for an awkward amount of time. Like, half an hour. We all finished our drinks well within the time it took her to acknowledge him again. Finally, she came back around and he once again asked her to close his tab, which she did quickly, but she seemed annoyed. There was another bartender and a bar back behind the bar, so while it was crowded, it was not like she was the only one there. Of course, parking sucks because this is on Adams Avenue in the heart of Normal Heights. So take an Über like we did. :) The music was good and the atmosphere was nice. I’ll check this place out again for sure.

During a busy Memorial Day Weekend, I came in from Orange County to watch the game. Unwilling to venture into downtown for the likely holiday traffic and crowds, I opted for The Rabbit Hole, a location I had bookmarked for the longest time. Great decision! This place has everything you would need! Good Selection of Beer(Lots of Local Beers) Good Food Full Bar Good Parking Outdoor Seating Area Numerous TVs Beautiful Décor Back Courtyard for Cornhole, Jenga, and other activities What we ordered: RABBITHOLECALAMARI: Large strips of Calamari that are battered fairly lightly(as to make you not feel bad about yourself afterwards). These were delicious and came with a very tasty marinara sauce. NORMALNACHOSWITHBRISKET: Normal Nachos… it’s in the name. These were good and we ordered them with delicious brisket. It came with beans, sour cream, jalapenos, tomatoes. It was delicious but then again. they were nachos. How do you make nachos bad? Sadly, we didn’t order anything else since we were filling up on beer and watching the game as well. No complaints here. This place was delicious, fun, and offers the perfect atmosphere for watching sports with friends. Highly Recommend! Tip: Another huge plus was that Mariposa Ice Cream is right across the street. Stop in for delicious ice cream and fresh waffle cones.

I filmed my entire experience at Rabbit Hole. Click the link — I came here bright and early on a Saturday morning and the place was pretty empty. The neon sign of the word NORMAL was a great compliment to their divey atmosphere. My party and I ordered the smoked chicken benny, stuffed biscuits and gravy, and the corned beef hash. The place has a great bar selection so if you’re looking to drink they’ll fill all your needs. They had an awesome backdoor area filled with different party games — connect 4, jenga, cornhole. The biggest issue I had was how long it took to get our food. We came at a time when there wasn’t that many people in the restaurant and the food took over 30 mins to get to us after we ordered. Not great in my book.

Fun for everyone!!! Love this place. Hands down best lunch spot if you have kids. The back patio allows for a complete corral and provides turf grass, xl jinga blocks, corn hike and life size connect four. The food is def higher end considering it is a bar. House salad for example has your typical veggie’s + quinoa, a variety mixed greens and some kind of good cheese(I believe it was feta, maybe goat). The staff are always friendly. They have a full bar, some fun signature cocktails and a great selection of hoppy beers. Night times are happening often with live music or different themes. I have not been eating meat and my new favorite dish is the engine 18-tuna+grilled portabella. Yummy

Happy hours here are the best! Their nachos are bomb! The pulled pork sandwich is so juicy and delicious. With $ 5 drinks, how can you say no to this place?! They have indoor and outdoor seating, and a back area for kids to play. The ambiance is pretty chill and they have live music there. I was able to enjoy some pretty good music here when I was here. Definitely am a fan! I definitely will come back here, especially for their happy hours!

We were in search of a place to watch the game that also had great food. We landed in this place, and I don’t regret it at all. The waitress was nice, and explained the beer that I had chosen, to make sure that it would be a good choice. I ordered two tacos. One was the slow roasted pork belly taco(hands down, my favorite!!) and the smoked brisket(so good!) They both are packed with so much flavor, it’s crazy. They were juicy and everything I hoped for! I also tried some of the fries with the secret ketchup.(I’m not sure what it’s called.) they were pretty good! A little bird told me that he has tried out mostly everything on the menu. He enjoyed everything but the ghost pepper wings, which unfortunately I wanted to try next! Maybe I’ll still give them a shot. Great food! Pretty chill atmosphere.

Came here for burger week and got their Ground Chuck Norris Burger with fries and a beer for $ 10 what a deal! The only draw back was the only beers you could choose from were the corporate options(Bud, Coors, and Miller light or Pacifico). But it was still a deal since the burger and fries alone are normally $ 13.(website prices need to be updated) It’s been awhile since I’ve had Bud light; Though i prefer a craft ale, stout or porter, I’m not a snob, its still cool and refreshing. The burger was pretty good, it was done to a perfect medium, meat cooked thru but still juicy. i ordered it with white cheddar and came with a sweet pickle and thick cut seasoned fries with their«kicked up ketchup» I liked the burger but it’s the fries that I would come back for, soft and pillowy inside with a nice tasty crunchy exterior. Their kicked up ketchup was sort of a cross between ketchup and a sweet BBQ sauce, I dipped both the fries and the burger in it. The sweet pickle was also a nice touch, it was a great balance of sweet and salty and went perfectly with the burger, fries and beer. I tried to go during off hours to avoid a crowd, but to my surprise it was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon, guess SDSU was playing in the March Madness tournament so that could be, it. I was lucky enough to find street parking right in front, but I’ve been to the area during near peak hours, and there is usually parking in the surrounding residential area a few blocks away. I really like the vibe of this place, theres also a back patio area with large jenga and other games, which is pretty cool. I’ll be back to check out their happy hour and have more of their glorious fries.

Gotta say I enjoyed the vibe of this place. It literally is a chill bar in the Normal Heights area. The energy is a bit different from a downtown bar. Its like everyone respects each others space and knows they’re there to drink and chill. We caught a UFC pay per view here and I had a good time even though we had to stand for 3 hours watching the fight. The drinks are solid and the food, I would recommend the pork nachos. Its a bit pricey but worth it. Staff was great and there are some definite lookers as far as bartenders and servers here. Expect a lot of the North Park crowd here.

Location/atmosphere: has a very college type of environment. There’s giant Jenga and another games people play in the back room. The lights are dim and there are tvs all around the bar area if you’re looking to watch sports. Food/drinks: they have a wide variety of beer and cocktails. They’re not too cheap but not unreasonably expensive. I had the louie sandwich, which is 3 pieces of bread with about 4 – 5 types of proteins, cheese, and slaw. By no means was it healthy but it was delicious. If you want meat, order it. It also came with a side of fries. Service: the waitresses are fairly attentive and helpful. They also are good on refilling your water which is nice. Would come here again to catch a game. I also read that there’s a Happy Hour which significantly reduces some of their prices for drinks and food but have yet to try it.

My first time at The Rabbit Hole was the night of a big UFC fight, so it was packed. Luckily, my group and I were able to reserve a table, because a lot of other places playing the fight were just first come, first serve. We had the cutest server! I think her name was Stephanie. She was a tiny, blonde girl with tattoos and unique style – dangling statement earrings inside of her plugs. I loved her. She was sweet, attentive, and got along with us really well because of her fun and spunky personality. The food was interesting. Some of it scared me because I saw«rabbit» as an ingredient, and I didn’t know how to feel about that. My table got: duck wings, the peacemaker(shredded chicken with bbq sauce, cheese, and bacon burger that came with fries), and their special nachos with chicken. The wings were surprisingly good with a little spice, and the burger was amazing! I didn’t get the chance to taste the nachos. The drink my sister and I ordered(basil bunny) was pretty strong, but the beer was standard and good! After we finished our food and the fight was over, the restaurant/bar started playing old school classic R&B songs. The ambiance was nostalgic and chill, I liked it a lot.

Fight night. No cover. What more can you ask for? A table? Keep wishing, unless you put your name in 2 – 3 hours before the start of fight night then you can get one. We got lucky and got the table where nobody wanted because you can’t see the TVs but it was cool because you can sit and just stand and move to a tv visible area and you’re all good! I wish I can say good things about their bar food but it wasn’t that great. We ordered chicken wings, clams, nachos, just the tip sandwich, mac and cheese and many beers. Everything was really bland! I thought bar food was salty food? Felt like there was no flavoring of any kind on it. The chicken wings had some seasoning only if you got lucky but the rest was slight seasoned. Literally 6 clams in a tabasco sauce, Mac and cheese was so bland more like«mac» and just the tip sandwich full of fake melted cheese. Wasn’t impressed by their bar food. I wouldn’t suggest it unless you are truly hungry… Even so it may not be so satisfying. The bar itself, like to go drinking and watch sports and fight night, is awesome. Food was so so. Our server was actual really attentive for a fight night. She did an excellent job!

Wish Boise had more places like this, open patio, friendly servers, dog friendly and great beer(Boise has)!! We had their downtown brown — wicked tasty and their fries, since apparently were bar hopping before my flight. From anyone coming from out of town I suggest staying away from downtown of your looking for a great bar and beer. All the bars around Normal heights seemed to be very hipster! Came here on Sunday and the football environment was awesome no doubt I will come back here when i returned to San Diego!

The Rabbit Hole is one of the keys to my heart. Came here for the first time on a whim a couple months ago and then returned with a friend. Ordered the duck wings and Chubby Fucking Bunny Melt per the bartender’s recommendation and OMG — MIND. BLOWN. The duck wings have a sweet and slight spiciness to them, but they’re delicious and finger-licking good! The Chubby Fucking Bunny Melt is a pastrami and mac and cheese sandwich. I know what you’re thinking, «that sounds so heavy», but magically, it’s not. I came with a girlfriend and we split an order of the duck wings and an order of the melt. We were both full, but not stuffed by the end of the meal. Their signature drink is the Basil Bunny. Delicious! Not too sweet & not too strong either. A great drink to sip, have dinner over, and relax with.
