LOVE! The 20+ selection of beer is fantastic with the beer board choices changing almost every day. Come back 2 days later and half the beer board will be different. They have increased their menu from the classic sausages, wings and tater tots and now include a burger, veggie burger, chicken sandwich, and a nicer salad. Look for the 5 types of mustards to compliment the sausages! They have trivia night on Wednesdays and Wing night is Thursdays. This is the perfect place to come hangout alone, with a friend, or a crowd. The bartenders and cooks are always accommodating and friendly. I was just here last week for my birthday and the outside patio was a perfect place to have 10 – 15 people as the inside was a little crowded. The orders get called outside also when ready so you don’t have to worry about missing your food call. Every beer that comes as a pint can also be ordered as a half pint if you are more into the tasting mood and want more variety. I have been going here for over 4 years now and can say it has been consistently amazing all these years. The only issue is finding parking.

Regal Beagle, the Go-to bar if all else fails. They never disappoint. Here you will see locals enjoying good food and good beer curated by their owners. I have had so much good times at the Beagle(got the anniversaries shirts to prove it too) that it would be blasphemous to not write a review. They have a great beer selection along with special releases from all over. Some places have half their menus fulls of IPAs but not regal. They typically have a decent range of beers and they just started having hard root beer! PLUS, if you have no idea what to get, you can spin the wheel — there is a chance to get free beer! They are always super friendly and ready to give you a tasting of something. Yummy food! Some guy in San Marcos makes their delicious bratwursts and not to mention fresh chips and donut holes! They added new deliciousness to the menu recently. The Beagle attracts a good local crowd. Music is never too loud that we cannot have conversations. They have trivia night and specials like wings wednesdays. Overall, a great neighbourhood bar.

These guys have the best selection of what’s hot on the local beer scene. They have 24 taps of mostly local beer. Plus their burger and Philly cheesesteak are amazing. This isn’t said lightly, but the regal beagle is my favorite bar in San Diego and certainly the one I frequent most.

Rotating beer selection is always good. Ciders and hard root beers are usually available if beer isn’t your thing. Menu steadily expanding with excellent tasty choices.

The Regal Beagle has had a recent menu upgrade. They’ve taken off some of the sausages and added a couple of sandwiches. The burgers and black bean burgers are also new(well, they had them before, but the recipes have been changed up). These changes have been well received by my friends and me — I recommend trying the veggie burger and the Philly cheesesteak. YUM!

Tater tots!!! Okay, that’s pretty much all I remember from this place. They have a great selection of beers on tap, but Issac and I chose poorly, so Issac ended up drinking all the beer. I’m a Ballast Point Sculpin type of lady if I’m drinking beer, otherwise hand me a glass of your most interesting wine. On a Saturday night, this place wasn’t too crowded, although I did run into my friend and her boyfriend, which was a weird coincidence. We ordered our beer and tater tots at the bar. The beer came out immediately and the tater tots followed a couple of minutes later. Food is served at the right side of the restaurant, so make sure to hold on to your receipt and number. I really liked that there were a variety of condiments for all of the bar food. They had a couple of different mustards, ketchup, mayo, relish, and anything else you could dream of as far as condiments that are squeezed out of a bottle go. The tater tots themselves were crispy and helped soak up the egregious amount of alcohol that was already in my system at that point. The bartender here was also super nice. He pointed out a couple of weekly specials if we ever wanted to come back and really recommended the burger. I’ll have to take Cam here some time. Overall, The Regal Beagle was a really great time! There was a dart board in one corner that looked pretty fun, otherwise it was just a normal crowd of people there.

Intimate bar filled with locals. Service is fair, but they have a great selection of local beers and brats.

Fantastic food and great beer selection. Laid back atmosphere. I walked in not knowing what to expect. I almost felt like a regular from the get go. Bar service only, food picked up once cooked. Just a cool place. I had Moroccan Lamb sausage and was almost like eating real middle eastern lamb. Beer choices to satisfy every taste.

More like a 3.5? Chill little pub, located in a pretty random area though. It’s really close to Lucha Libre and Blue Water Seafood Market and along that street. With that said, parking can be pretty tough around the area. They have a lot of great beers on tap and if you can’t decide, they have this spinning wheel in which you can use to spontaneously decide what to get, which makes the atmosphere of the place a little more fun when watching people spin it. There’s also darts to play on the side which was fun and TVs around the place. Overall, the place has great beer, but it’s a bit small and there is not much else to do in the location if you want to go elsewhere.

I love this place. The beer selection is always full and crafty. The food is some of the best bar grub in San Diego. The service is friendly, attentive, and down to earth. Eli is my go to bartender! He always has great knowledge of the beers on tap and makes sure are well taken care of. It is not the fanciest beer bar in town, but that is why I like it! Next time you are in the area pop over and enjoy a true neighborhood bar!

Regal Beagle is another one of my favs! If you live in mission hills, it’s the place to meet your local neighbors, play some good old trivia, have a few craft beers for a really great price and have a sausage dog. I also love $ 0.50 corn dog night. They’re fresh and homemade. Part of me wants to take a star away because their food is limited and they don’t actually allow dogs inside. Their outside patio is no place for dogs either, because it’s so small, but people still make due. Thanks for the memories Regal!

If you like good beer, this is a solid bar. The service was friendly, the prices are fair, the space interesting but good(a couple of TVs, a bit dark, but clean with free WiFi). I didn’t eat here, but the sausages(their specialty) looked and smelled delicious. They have other food as well, should you decide to grab a bite, but their sausages seem to be the best bet. However, like a previous review said, this just isn’t my favorite bar in SD… and I don’t know why. It has all of the ingredients of a great bar, but… I don’t know. Something is missing and I can’t pinpoint it. I would return, but I wouldn’t become a regular.

..I grew up in the country and we didn’t have cable. Every kid that didn’t have cable knows what Threes Company and the«Regal Begal» is. It’s the real original one too. I hope Mr. Furley isn’t lurking!

Met here with some friends and the environment is really upbeat. Good amount of people for a late night. They have a late night food menu which is just asking for munchies. Tons of different choices for sausage and they also have choices for vegetarians. Go with the GERMANGARLICSAUSAGE, definitely my favorite out of the ones everyone ordered. Goes really well with their different types of beers. Also ordered the SAUSAGESAMPLER, which came with 3 flavors –Moroccan Lamb, Chicken Diablo and Jalapeño cheddar. I would say that the Moroccan Lamb was the best but my friends liked the jalapeño cheddar. Multiple craft beers on tap and I went with the ALESMITH394 and the PEANUTBUTTERMILKSTOUT. I ranked them 85 and 90 on my beer advocate scale, respectively. Try both!

This place has everything you could want in a local neighborhood bar. Great food, great beer selection, and a fun atmosphere. I came by on a Wednesday night for Trivia night with some friends(which we ended up winning) and it was a lot of fun. First off the beer selection here is great. They have over 25 craft beers on tap which is a lot to chose from so there is something for everyone. The food is also great. The main thing is sausages and they do them very well here. I got the German Garlic sausage with onions and peppers and it came with a side of potato chips which are made in house. I also got a side of tater tots. The sausage was very good and had a great garlic flavor. It had a nice pop to it so I could tell it was a high quality sausage. The chips were great as well and you can never go wrong with tots. What I found unique was the variety of mustard they had available. It ranged from regular yellow to spicy dijon to chinese hot mustard. I couldn’t resist and got them all. As I mentioned I came by for trivia night and it was a full house. It was a very social atmosphere and I look forward to coming back soon. Parking can be tough if you come on peak hours.

My New spot since it’s literally 2 blocks from my new place. Good selection of craft beers, staff are really nice… And got around to trying their food. I got the Moroccan Lamb with chips. It was good, huge, lots of sauerkraut for about $ 9. A bit salty but looking forward to trying all their other dogs. They have daily specials, Monday I think it’s mini corn dogs deal, Tuesday all day happy hour, Wednesday trivia night, Thursday 3 wings for $ 1 and Friday is full priced Friday’s. Wish they have like $ 1 – 2 off the dogs! Kinda pricey for the specialty one. One complaint, been here about 4 times and goddammit it smells like fart every time. I’m not sure if it’s because they don’t have alcohol and only beer and it makes people gassy, they be Dutch Ovening the whole place or not. Or if there’s a leak in the bathrooms somewhere… It’s better when the door is open but gosh it smells like shit. Sad to say it but you get used to the fart air in about 10 minutes. Just not pleasant when you initially get that hot smelly air in your face.
