This place is highly contaminated, and a rip off. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, unless, you want to get sick! I saw a young lady, named Jeanette, lick the rim of a water glass, she was serving to a customer! And then, she took a plate to box up the steak to go, it fell on the floor, and she went ahead and gave it to the customer! Then, the woman, named Linda, was so rude to the guests, I saw 4 differ couples leave. If you ask me, they’re overpaid, over the hill, overly entitled, and very LAZY! Good Luck! this was truly digusting!

Amazing! The foods was incredible, the staff was friendly and on it. Service was a little slow, but they were quite busy. Definitely would recommend, plan on returning next time we visit San Diego.

I found this spot on Unilocal.I was staying right down the street from here and came here for breakfast. There was a lot of people outside waiting to get seated but when I went to the hostess and told her I was by myself she gave me a seat at the counter. I ordered the banana nut waffle combo and it was delicious. The portions were good and worth the money and my waitress was very nice. I even got a free cup of coffee cause I checked in on Unilocal. They had that coupon on the Unilocal app. If your in close proximity to this place give it a shot. I give it two thumbs up and the couple that was sitting next to me at the counter found the place on Unilocal also, so they must be doing something right. One last thing, I didn’t have to wait long for my order to come out after it was placed.

Love this place! I’ve had their eggs benedict on waffles, biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, and basic breakfasts. They never disappoint. Service is great. And the waitresses/waiters are always topping off your drinks. Son had the hot cocoa and the whip on that mug overflowed. .the kid was overjoyed. I bring the homies here all the time. Small and hidden and the best breakfast gem in hotel circle.

Waffle spot breakfast diner joint inside the kings inn hotel. Parking not too bad even though place always seems to be full. Décor is colorful and it’s nice how they display picture drawings colored by the younger patrons. Personally not a huge fan of waffles or pancakes but I have enjoyed their chilaquiles, biscuits n gravy, and chicken fried steak. They were nice enough to accommodate and make chocolate chip pancakes for my two daughters to share. Word of advice groupons and coupons are not valid on holidays.

Came down to San Diego with a girlfriend. The pink and purple décor looked right up our alley so we stopped in for breakfast on our way home. I had egg whites and she had the Santa Fe omelette. Both with the mini waffles. Coffee was good. Service was excellent. We love Paula :) GET the mini waffles. Always. Forever.

Don’t let this hidden Hotel Circle gem fool you! The Waffle Spot hits the spot! I know it’s corny, but this place is great! I have found myself here every week for three weeks straight! There’s nothing like place who has excellent service to go along with great breakfast! I love how each time we got in with no wait and the food came out super fast! What is awesome is that they offered up military discount as well! Thanks for your support Waffle Spot! Waffle Spot Visit One: Waffle Platter upgraded to Blueberry Waffles. Delicious! I didn’t care for the blueberries on top, but the blueberry waffle itself was amazing to go along with my scrambled eggs and bacon! Waffle Spot Visit Two: Bacon Waffle & Eggs. Oh so sweet and savory! Bacon was inside of the waffle! Came with some fruit, which I traded with my wife for a bite of her Banana Nut Waffle. I think I made out better on the trade, but that’s just me! Waffle Spot Visit Three: Banana Nut Waffle. Perfectly made waffles with banana and walnuts on top. Drizzled some maple syrup on top and I went to heaven! It will be really hard not to order this one again! They have a lot of different breakfast options, so you can’t go wrong here! Parking has been great. If you want of the best places to get an awesome breakfast in San Diego, Waffle Spot is your… spot.

So glad we stumbled upon this little gem. A hole in the wall with the best waffles I’ve ever had! We honestly come here once a week and can’t stop going. I had the el veggie casserole and I’m in love. I ate the whole thing and I’m not an egg person. I only had room for one of my mini waffles which was disappointing I hated to throw that piece of heaven away! I’ve had the bacon waffle which is legit! I also love the banana waffle! My husband likes there coffee I always just get water. You have to go here especially if you are from out of town! You will love it. The prices are very comparable and they also give military discount! I loveeeee waffle spot!

Food reminds me of the diners and cafés scattered all over North County San Diego. However, the waffles are damn good. The Sir Waffelot mugs are $ 5 and the artwork or the ‘Royal Art Gallery’ is priceless. Came in to redeem some coupons and really enjoyed the service. It’s a diner with an everlasting theme adjacent to the King’s Inn and another restaurant, the staff is very kind.

Really good b fast food. Paula the waitress was very friendly and professional. We were staying at another hotel and came down here to eat. Very very very good. I was offered the bacon waffles. Bits of bacon in the waffle batter. Very good. The guy sitting behind me was asking what kind of sugar they used in the batter. Refined or processed(isn’t that the same) he ended up ordering sliced tomatoes from the waffle spot. Oddly enough, no one offered him bacon waffles.

I didn’t have high expectations for the diner inside of a budget motel — and wouldn’t normally bother to even risk it — but thanks to Unilocal,I gave it a try. It was shockingly busy on a Wednesday at 11am with about a dozen people still waiting to be seated, but luckily I was by myself and was able to be seated at the counter for the real American diner feel. The staff was pleasant, the coffee mug never emptied, and the food was good. I had a Mexican omelette with mini waffles. The portions were fair for the price, the food was piping hot, and they had a condiment caddy with a variety of Tabasco sauces including the only one worth using; chipotle flavored. I would have liked more napkins than just the one wrapped around my silverware. With serve yourself condiments, why not have a napkin dispenser with it? Other than that, it was a fine experience, but by no means fine dining. The free coffee with the Unilocal checkin and the proximity to where I was staying made this a good deal, but it’s not a place I’d travel too far to eat at.

This morning we had breakfast here because of the great reviews. We are glad we did. Paula was our waitress and she was so happy and incredibly helpful. Ask for her area if you go. The place was very clean, service was great & fast!!! I had the blueberry waffle platter which included 2 eggs over medium, 2 sausage links, and 2 strips of bacon. Everything was flavorful and so yummy!!! My husband had banana nut waffle plater but had his eggs scrambled. He cleaned his plate and had some of my waffle. If I could give 10 stars I would. Our bill came to $ 25.90 with a coffee and ice tea. I highly recommend this cute little spot. It’s inexpensive, super clean, awesome employees, quick service, and GREAT food. It is a small place so go early. We arrived around 8 am on a Monday and were seated immediately clear. When we left there were people waiting to be seated.

Just went here today with two of my girlfriends! Such a cute spot for brunch on a Saturday. It’s a hidden gem of San Diego. There wasn’t too long of a wait only about 10 min. The lobby of the hotel had a photo booth set up for customers to take cute Christmas pictures. They also had a waffle costume character to greet people and take pictures with! I order the waffles egg benedict only $ 10.95 and my friends ordered the farmer’s casserole for $ 9.95. You can also buy one of their souvenir mugs for $ 5! Service is great, food is yummy! Good place for families. Definitely will be coming back!

Paula is amazing and has the most sincere method of getting you what you want before you even know you want it. I’m speechless. Just visit the Waffle Spot and you’ll understand. I got the waffle eggs benny and I have extremely mixed feelings about it. Allow me to briefly explain. Pro: definitely the best eggs benny I’ve ever had. The waffle is cooked to perfection, has just the right amount of sweetness, and creates a seamless and beautiful union between the hollandaise sauce and the egg/ham. Con: I can never have eggs benny again unless it’s from here. I live in Tempe, Arizona… 5 hours away from the Waffle Spot

For yumminess, value, and glorious kitchiness, you can’t beat the Waffle Spot. This rejuvenated 50’s diner, with its lilac and teal motif, set inside a two-story 50’s motel, reminds me of childhood vacations. A breakfast counter just like in olden times :) Waffles fluffy and crisp. Large portions and friendly, speedy service for a very reasonable price. Pecan waffle platter large enough to split, with a giant waffle, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage. Everything was very good except sausage which was just ok, I would get all bacon next time. Coffee VERYGOOD, surprising for a little coffee shop like this. Sorry to have missed Sir Wafflelot, guess he doesn’t get here til 10 on Sundays. Restaurant is full by 8:30 on a Sunday morning. Would definitely come again!

Waffle hut is largely what one expects from a hotel-side l breakfast site. I ordered the pumpkin spice waffle… which is pictured in this review. The pumpkin spice wasn’t added to the batter that made the waffle(in any perceptible sense), but rather was a light blend of literal pumpkin spice and cinnamon sprinkled lightly on/around the dollops of whip cream on the waffle. The waffle itself was decent. neither soggy nor overcooked. Coffee was mediocre… service was decent. I would eat breakfast here again if I returned to this area of hotels. The color and mascot scheme here are humorous. Seems like the place is patently kid-friendly.

SD local — Hmmm… Well, not to sound mean… but the food was awful. Waffle Benedict *** 1⁄5 *** I would have given this a 0⁄5 but that’s not exactly fair since I DID eat it but only because my stomach was about to eat itself.(Zeros are for inedible dishes.)The Benedict was smothered with what was labeled as hollandaise but I’m pretty sure they used instant nacho cheese. Their Benedict is with two miniature waffles instead of an English muffin and they tasted soggy and just plain weird. I would imagine that they wouldn’t use frozen waffles since its s waffle spot… but I dunno, they tasted frozen! Environment ***3/5*** The layout was fun, colorful and felt like a diner so I actually liked it a lot. The service was slow but the servers, bussers and cashier were all super nice and friendly. Prob only good for kids, or for people who don’t give a F**** and are hungover.

I am not sure exactly what makes this place so special to me — but I love it. There’s something about San Diego and having breakfast here that sparks a moment of excitement from my childhood. That may sound very odd but I can’t explain it — I love waking up at a hotel in Mission Valley and then coming here for breakfast. The staff is really friendly and the food hit’s the spot, it tastes like midwest homestyle diner food. I live in Los Angeles and first came here 2 years ago in October when my best friend was visiting from Brazil. He said he really liked it so we gave it a try and I make sure I eat here every visit to San Diego. Three weeks ago I came twice and I am about to go again on this visit. It’s really hard these days to create a business that keeps people coming back for something special, especially me. The décor is a little funky — it has that nice 50’s Diner Look but everything is Purple and it feels like Easter. After asking a member at the front desk of the Hotel at Kings Inn she said the owner loves purple and was able to best represent that in the restaurant, in addition the Waffle Spot is themed around Sir Wafflelot and Purple represents royalty. I also have to make point that Paula is one of the best waitresses from any place I’ve ever eaten. She reminds you of how a waitress should be — she’s exuberant, very happy, remembers you as a customer even if it’s been a year and gets everything with your order right!

Good lord… this review is a little longer than my normal ones. I felt I had to be thorough. Stopped by this place for breakfast today. This place is tucked away near the lobby of The Kings Inn in Hotel Circle South near Mission Valley. I don’t think I would have been able to find it without reading the reviews from previous Unilocalers. It is on the opposite side of The Amigo Spot. Parking wasn’t a problem, there was plenty of it. I came here to grab breakfast with a family member. As we were walking up to the restaurant, we encountered a Waffle Spot sign that was amusing to us. Maybe it was our lack of sleep, silliness, or combination of both, but it appeared the Waffle logo was giving us the finger. I had to take a picture. After entering, we were greeted and promptly seated. The server chose a small table for two with chairs. Normally most servers ask, «Is this(seating) okay?», but our server didn’t ask. I became slightly irritated when I noticed as others(2 – 3 other parties of two) came in they were seated at the booths(with bigger tables). Anyhow, I let it go and thought well next time I’ll be assertive and ask for better seating right away. The strangest thing happened… after our server handed us our menus, before we even had a chance to open them up, she immediately asked us if we were ready to order. I looked at my family member(with a combination look of: puzzled and«WTF just happened») and told our server, «Um… we need a minute.»(I was polite. I seriously couldn’t believe she said/did that… hours later after we finished eating and had left I had to ask to make sure that it happened and that I didn’t just imagine it.) Anyhow, she took our drink order then returned about 5 minutes later to take our order. I ordered the bacon waffles(crumpled bacon bits mixed with waffle batter), eggs over-easy, with mixed fruit. The other person in my party ordered bacon waffles, eggs sunny side up, with a side a hash browns. So our food came out pretty quickly in(under) 10 minutes. I liked that they put the butter in a separate container versus putting a huge scoop like it’s waffle a la mode. The waffle was light and fluffy, but still appropriately crispy. The bacon waffle with butter and syrup had an interesting texture and cool mixture of sweet and salty deliciousness. I liked my eggs, they were standard. The mixed fruit was okay, some of it didn’t taste fully fresh(I didn’t finish it). I stole a few bites of hash browns(hey what is family for?). The bacon was okay, a little chewy vs. crisp but it wasn’t horrible. I’m not sure if they haven’t remodeled since the 80s, or if they were going for the retro look(I’m hoping the latter). Place was clean and the décor gives the place character. Overall, place was okay. Not great. Service was a little iffy. The food(mainly the waffles) helped to improve the rating. I’d return to give this place another chance. «Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it…» right? And«try it twice to make sure.»

Original Review: Place is retro looking and the staff is super friendly(located in Kings Inn which is a bit shady but helps create a vintage feel). Love the Mexican omelette made with authentic chorizo and the green sauce was amazing! The mini waffles were light and yum-deli-yum!!! Two thumbs up for this inexpensive breakfast spot! Side Note: I’m sorry fellow helpers but I had to edit my ratings on the place because after eating the steak and eggs entrée, my husband became ill with food poisoning. As delicious as my food may have been, it’s concerning when a guest becomes sick minutes after consuming a meal here.
