Sucks this places closed. I came here last summer and I guess they ended up closing like a month later. I’ve previously been to the one in Miami and I thought it was cool there was another in driving distance from me. I guess others thought differently. It was a dead afternoon when we went but the girl making our drinks was really nice, gave suggestions, and let us have some samples. Guess I need to head back to Miami pronto…

Good enough of a visit. Not overwhelmed but satisfied enough to go back sometime. The Buffalo wings were good — they had a unique touch but still maintained the Buffalo flavor I was looking for. I didn’t try any of their alcoholic slushy drinks they’re probably most famous for — we just went for dinner. Chicken club and french fries were both good. We went on a Sunday night and was basically quiet and empty — only one other group of people sitting at a table so I can’t speak about the atmosphere much.

First time at this place last night and I loved it! I ordered a large Call-A-Cab(one of the strong ones) and it tasted great. You couldn’t taste the alcohol much, so they’re definitely a little dangerous haha. The employees were fun as well. Can’t wait to come back.

Their security has ego issues. I was visiting San Diego and my boyfriend really wanted to see the HBO fight and this place was the only one who was showing it in the Gaslamp. It was our first time there and I didn’t know where the main entrance was but we saw open doors but there was a rope that was closed. I also saw a male black security guard leaning on a counter and watching the fight. I called out to him several times(my voice is extremely loud and high pitched) but he was too into the fight to hear me. So we just let ourselves in. We were about to sit down at a table when he GRABS us by the shoulders and tells us we have to go in through the front. I tell him that I tried calling him several times and he just snarks back at me with«Don’t tell me how to do my job» We walk around to the front and he radios his little Hispanic male friend security and the bro code shows its ugly face. He doesn’t want to let us in claiming we were trying to sneak in. SNEAKIN? I’m sorry I didn’t want to pay the FREE cover and both me and my boyfriend are over 21 and we both have ID. I had to ask him to talk to the manager THREE times before he FINALLY stopped arguing with me and went to go get her. She let us in. The female security was an ANGEL though. She was the only one who apologized and she even did it MULTIPLE times for their behavior. I’m so sad I forgot her name. She’s the only reason I think this place deserves more than zero stars after my experience with the security. I had the strawberry margarita. It was so cold my plastic cup and straw froze. It wasn’t even drinkable. There’s cold and then there’s torture. It was torture.

This place is HUGE. My mind is blown as to what Wet Willies looks like on Friday & Saturday nights because when I arrived mid-day for Football Sunday Funday it was empty. Sadly, I feel like the erie emptiness gives the place a negative vibe which gave me no urge to stick around and hang out after finishing my drink… Personally I feel like this place would do a lot better in a smaller space. Looking in to a huge empty room is not appealing from the street or inside the bar. Now, don’t get me wrong. I have a huge sweet tooth so the concept behind this place is perfect for me. I just can’t get over how much space this bar takes up and how I never see anyone inside and what a turn off that is to go check it out.(I’ve lived here for a year and a half and this was the first time I went inside) Anyways, as for the drinks themselves and the establishment as a whole… Their wall of slushies seems to go on forever. I liked that you could ask the bartender to taste various flavors and also that the menu had detailed ingredients for each slushie so you knew what you were getting. I opted for a small and luckily had two friends to share with. I don’t think I could have survived a small alone without feeling terribly sick afterwards! These things are SWEET. However, it was very tasty at the time! I mixed the piña colada and the strawberry for a lava flow-y-beach-in-Hawaii tasting treat.

A place to start the night. They have a bunch of flavors to choose from and you have the choice of having it small, medium, or large. I had a Superman and it was actually really good. The food was nothing special. It’s more of what I consider«drunk food» The place was pretty dead and it was a Friday night. Mostly guys. I would recommend having more lights in there. It’s a big place but having it dark makes it seem emptier than it really is.

Every so often when I’m downtown, usually after a Pad’s win. I feel like having a night of bad decisions. When I get this feeling, my first stop is usually Wet Willie’s because Call-A-Cabs and Ninja Turtles really help me move along the bad decision process. For those of you who haven’t been yet, Wet Willie’s specializes in slurpee-like alcoholic beverages. You can get them plain or you can get the flavors mixed into named concoctions. Fun place, more hip-hop than anything else. Never had an issue with the bouncers or staff. Happy customer.

This review is for the TACOTUESDAY. $ 2 tacos with cheap drinks = happiness. I ordered the fish, carne and chicken tacos. These aren’t baby tacos; so come hungry! My favorite was the fish taco! The chicken was dry and the carne didn’t taste authentic to me. Their chips and salad with guac, hands down are always on point. Service was great too!

This place has a bit of a bad reputation with previous employees(I have personal knowledge of this with two employees who came to me for advice). Evidently they closed earlier this year, and refused to give some employees their final paychecks. Then re-opened. The only solution for these employees is to go to the Labor Board to force them to comply with regulations and issue those paychecks(which is what we are doing). I live nearby and have gone there in the past — it’s a fun place with great frozen drink selection. HOWEVER, my friends and I will not go back there after learning that they treat employees with disrespect.

Wet Willie’s is the place to go if you’re in the market for frozen drinks — they have a wall of machines and options — but they had a bit of an attitude about staying in the bar area if you aren’t eating. I can’t imagine that the food here is any good, so they probably have to «bribe» people into eating here by making that the only way that they can sit down. The drink itself(the Bob Marley) was good, not great. It was refreshing to drink on a hot summer day, but I could have done without the attitude. Interesting place to try once, but I don’t really see myself coming back. They have a breathalyzer here which is pretty awesome. I believe it was $ 3.50 to use.

Truth be told, I was never a huge fan of the 7 eleven slushies. I have no idea why I thought I would like the alcohol infused slushies at wet willie’s, oh well! WW has some redeemable qualities though! appetizer prices are cheap and 2×1, it’s surprisingly spacious and clean, customer service was decent. Tip: Stay away from the jello shots! you’ll thank me later

Wet Willie’s is as goofy as ever, and somehow these days I find myself here every time I visit San Diego. Those alcoholic slushies just have a special place in my heart. Taco Tuesday is a pretty hot deal — $ 2 tacos and $ 2 beers all night long. Even if you’re dead broke you can appreciate that. Look out for the chop salad and be sure to add grouper if you know what’s good for you.

Place seems to never be busy and the music sucks. Food is average. I only enjoy their alcoholic slushies here. Great flavors to try and would definately give you a good buzz.

We all ordered the Bob Marley daiquiri and we all LOVED it! So pretty and yummy! I wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered the Willie’s fries with bleu cheese, bacon, scallions and Louisiana hot sauce thinking it would be better than ordering a full meal. Wrong! It was really filling, but yummy! Next time, this will be an appetizer instead of a meal. Service was great! It was kind of strange though that they had music, but no one was dancing! I guess it’s not a club, but it was pretty spacious.

Service was great and our bartender, Marcus, was really nice to let us sample some of the daiquiris before we ordered. I’m not the biggest daiquiri fan but I give Wet Willies 5 stars for their bulgogi sliders. They are delicious! The appetizer comes with 3 sliders and a side of fries. The bulgogi is so tasty and it’s served on soft, slider buns. I literally could have eaten 10 of these suckers!

Picture a dive bar w/a wall full of alcohol infused 7-Eleven Slurpee machines and you’ve got the essential concept that is Wet Willie’s. Ever since I found out about this place I’ve wanted to go. I dunno, I was really jazzed about the idea of alcohol laden Slurpees I suppose. There are several locations but this particular one is by a long shot the closest one to me. Since we were visiting the San Diego area I knew we had to check this place out. It’s located in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego so, yes, parking is a effing nightmare. Upon entering it is extremely divey and dim, but the place is actually pretty big on the inside and spacious. They have several TVs and bar as well as table and lounge seating. They do offer a menu for food, but we had already eaten and were just ready to booze it up. Our server/bartender(Matt) tried desperately to sell us on some wings that were cheaper than the dirt outside but to no avail. We were trying to decide what to get as there a lot of drink options, especially if u decide on their daiquiris(which is what they were calling those adult Slurpees). We were given many samples and were told that u could combine any of the flavors on a whim. We went w/a «Sex On the Beach», and«Bob Marley», and a combo of «Shock Treatment» and«Melon Madness». The Bob Marley was the best tasting one no doubt. I would recommend this particular one. Yes, they do offer food but I did not partake of any. The drinks are the main draw here but are not at all overly impressive. That being said, I would visit here again sometime down the line. It’s a cool, layed back, divey sort of joint to just come and chillax but nothing worth going ape ish crazy over.

DRUNKNESSGALORE! I’m coming back here every time I’m in downtown! Summer is around the corner and such a perfect spot for soaking in undetected alcohol in yummy grown up 7⁄11 slushies! I had the Bob Marley! Sour Apple, Mango, and Strawberry! I died! The only problem was I got major brain freeze! First World Problems! Excited to try the other flavors!

Since turning 21 a while ago, I knew this place was going to be a lot of fun. I remember always passing by it in downtown, but not being old enough to enter. Wish there were more chairs around the bar area, so I can just stare at all the colors of the slushies all day. Though I am not a fan of slushy drinks, I am a fan of their strong and fruity flavors! I got the large size because I wanted the cute cup that you can take home, but I since I had to drive later, I couldn’t finish the drink. The large was pretty large for me. You can mix the flavors, and you can even get samples of what you want to mix! Ask for what the bartenders like! The service is friendly and fast depending on the time you come. Came here when it was pretty dead, but also came on days where it’s popping!

Spencer was the best! Captain America Wet Willies is like my favorite place on earth. I’m used to visiting the one in South Beach. I just moved to San Diego and was over the moon delighted to find a Wet Willies here! This location is a lot larger and a lot more subdued than the one in south beach. No lines around the door, your sure to be seated right away. Luckily the drinks are just as awesome. Our first time there we were waited on by Spencer who’ve bubbly personality kept us chuckling. I usually get the call a cab+attitude improvement but Spencer suggested and let us try a few other mixes. My favorite was the Captain America and my fiancé’s the grain train(don’t ask what’s in them b/c I don’t remember). They were both perfectly potent and delicious. The Captain America is my new fav and just in time for Independence Day! ;)
