I wish I could give this place zero stars, because the way I was treated was really messed up. I have food allergies and have ordered my food from Flame Broilers a thousand times the same way. EVERY time I order it, they’ve had NO problem meeting my needs and I’ve never gotten sick. Well, on my way home a couple weeks ago– in a hurry to get home, I call in an order to this Flame Broiler(I’ve eaten here before) and ordered my food in the same manner I always do– no questions asked. I go in to pick it up, and I was told that the owner had reservations about me eating there(I know, how rude, right?)… I reassured the cashier that I’ve eaten flame broiler a million times, and as long as they don’t use sauce, clean off the grill and switch out the utensils, I’ll be fine– always have been. So, she took my order, I paid, left a hefty tip in the jar(as always) for dealing with my pain-in-the-butt food allergy request. Mind you, I’m in a hurry and have a starving child to feed. After FIFTEEN minutes of waiting, watching people that came in after me get their food. The owner walks out and gets upset with the cashier over taking my order. He wouldn’t even look at me. He could have called me over and apologized for the inconvenience… maybe offer me a salad, but no– it was almost awkward because I was RIGHT there and he wouldn’t even acknowledge me– just got mad at the girl. The cashier called me over and informed me that he is REFUSING to fill my order. She was nice and thanked me for being understanding, refunded my money, while muttering under her breath that the owner was a ‘grumpy old man’ but I wasn’t about to pull the tip out of the jar. I’m not tacky. Just decided to leave this review instead. Long story short, that man, the owner– WORST customer service. EVER. Why he is in the food industry, I don’t know. You may not have food allergies like me, but that kind of attitude goes past this scenario… he’s just not nice. Don’t waste your time or support an establishment owned by a jerk. Oh, by the way, I called in an order to Upland Flame Broiler and they were super awesome, filled my order, I didn’t get sick– no questions asked. They are awesome and have had my repeat business since.

The chicken bowl was really good. The chicken was flavorful and moist. The sauces were also pretty tasty. Service was fast and the employees were very courteous. I would definitely come here again.

Half empty bowl!!! Don’t go here the owners are cheapos looking for a way to save a few bucks here and there by skimping on giving you what you paid for. Just bought a $ 7 half bowl of air… ridiculous!!!

Half empty bowl… I use to have to use lid to move some food over to get to the rice… Time to find a new spot.

Got my order wrong and they charged me doubled. When I brought this to their attention they randomly gave me $ 5 back without calculating the extra tax they charged me on the higher, incorrect, price. When I told them I needed .36cents back, they gave me .30cents back… and this was done by the so-called manager. Highly do not recommend if you are not prepared to potentially be ripped off and pushed aside… terrible terrible terrible customer service.

I used to really love this place! I stopped coming here for awhile and just recently started coming back. Ive been back three times this past week, and every time i ordered a chicken bowl w white meat brown rice, I must say, for $ 8.34 a bowl, its been a HUGE disappointment. Every time I’ve received my bowl its been half near empty. Its like they give u one scoop of brown rice and spread it around at the bottom of the bowl. I dont even have enough rice to finish my chicken. Smh… Other than that, the customer service is ok and the venue is well kept. Flame broiler used to be real good. I’ll give this place one more chance until i start taking my business to waba grill…

I like flame broiler and i get the rib plate all the time… But this place in San dimas doesn’t serve it… Because the new owner doesn’t make enough money out of it…

Two stars due to convenience and quality of the food. However, over the last year this place is lacking is quality of employees and service level. We take our business associates there for lunch meetings and they are continually messing up simple lunch bowls; simply due to continuous chatter and unprofessional attitude. Having fun at work is great unless it’s impacting the efficiency of the business. We have stopped visiting as frequently since George’s absence. Today I walked in for a to go order and heard inappropriate /foul language from the cooks, a cashier who was very unfriendly, and a messed up order once again. It’s very disappointing! Check your orders before you take them to go. The owner needs to address their employees before the business suffers!

I found this gem after a long morning/afternoon hike in Claremont trail. I was starving and Unilocaled the nearest location on my way to Azusa. I was taken back right as I stepped in the door smelled great floor tables where clean. I ordered my food from the cashier and he was very courteous and friendly. I found out latter that he was in fact the owner and was hustling and busing tables to clear them off and wipe them down. Brought food to the table and at the end asked how was the food. He seamed genuinely interested. Very nice place will be back again.

Look, let me just tell you straight up, I am not a fan of Flame Broiler in general. But I will come every once in awhile with hubs, who absolutely goes nuts over this place. I mean, its OK, but in the end its just a big blob of rice with meat on top. Its funny, though, when I went in today, its was 98% guys as the clientele. Cavemen!(just kidding) So, this one is similar to all the others. Except it said«Angus Beef» on the beef items on the menu, are all of them saying that now? Hmm. I got what I always get: white meat chicken and vegetables on brown rice. First Strike: Gal at the counter. Cranky, much? A smile won’t kill ya, kid. Second strike: It was not white meat. I got gristley parts, thigh parts, little tiny little stringy-stretchy parts, skin pieces. No bueno and not white meat. Also, I got not one, but TWO hard, giant cores of cabbage in my veg mixture. Third Strike: The teensy weensy little cups you gotta fill with your poison sauce. Oh I mean, Magic Sauce. For crying out loud, just leave a bottle on each table, ok? Are you really saving money that way? Its just an inconvenience for the dine-in customer(me) because I have to wait while the cavemen .er… other customers fill and refill their thimble sized cups with sauce to add flavor to what is, essentially, a flavorless meal.

This was my first time eating at the San Dimas location. I ordered white chicken vege with no rice. I was so happy with the job they did. The chicken was clean, cut in large chunks. They were very generous with both the chicken and veges, not just piling in the cabbage for filler. Great job San Dimas Flame Broiler ! I not only recommend this location, I will take the Lone Hill exit more often to come here.

The food is not the same as other flame broilers. The beef tastes really old and rubbery. The rice and veggies are always barely warm or just plain cold. It is a convenient location for me so I went there plenty of times to confirm that this place is awful. There is never anyone when I go in there and I know why. The place is pretty dirty. The tables are disgusting, they are extremely sticky and there is always food on them. The workers there could care less for their job. All they do is stand around and talk not paying any attention to the customers or the food. The last time I went the girl was eating on the preparation area talking to the cook. Sticking her fingers in her mouth and everything. She obviously did not care that I was able to see her. I simply got my food and dumped it in the trash. Never going back the sanitary conditions are terrible. About a week later when I went to subway I noticed an extermination truck outside flame broiler. I am not surprised if they have nasty bugs crawling inside that place.

FINALLY a location closer to me. The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and I will definitely be back. I asked for a frequent broiler card, but apparently that is an independent store deal. They did offer a rewards card and I did get that… since I will be back.

Its a chain restaurant, the food is alright. I hadn’t been to a Flame Broiler for about a year The service was typical of a Fast Food place, the food was alright. I had stopped coming mostly because the chicken was always very dry and tasteless.(and I prefer Waba Grill because of the Salmon) I came in during my break and had a chicken veggie bowl. It was good, the chicken was juicy and had a good flavor, the only thing i didn’t like is that the«veggie» portion of my food was made up of two pieces of broccoli and the rest was cabbage. The place was nice and clean, but they had ran out of the Teriyaki sauce, and didn’t have the variety of hot sauce that they have in other places. It was alright, but really I would only come here if i forgot to pack my lunch for work…

The food is average at best. It’s nothing to rave home about, but it IS fast and convenient if you’re in a rush. This place is usually empty and there is almost never a line. The staff always look like they’re background actors from Shaun of the Dead. Just standing there lifelessly, confirming your order with a mumble, then running through the motions. Must be a rough time working at Flame Broiler. Personally, I think that this place is expensive for what you get. A bowl of rice and some chicken /veggies for nearly $ 7? There are plenty of other places that do bowls for cheaper and much better. Maybe a further drive, but it’s just a much better experience. I’d actually like to give this place a 3.5 for the speed, but bumping it down to a 3 since it’s not a 4 star quality place.
