The old lady that manages here and the cashier here LIZ are ghetto people. If I had a business and had these people working for me it’s a matter of time my place would go under. Customer service is everything. I actually wrote a 5 star review here liking this place but after my visit the last time I would never come back to support this location. I walked in and walked out after witnessing LIZ the cashier yell at everyone like she was on something. Even the lady that walked our right after me commented on them that they must be on something. Mc Donald’s hire people with higher standards nowadays so when you walk into somewhere like here and see ghetto people working here like the cashier… I leave. My family and I will not be coming here again.

When I don’t know what to eat but I know I want something healthy, this is my go to spot. It’s very simple and clean and tastes better than flame broiler. Plus they have fish options as well as avocado to improve the taste. You get to choose between white or brown rice, green onions or not, and if it’s too saucy, you can get it with light sauce as well. The chicken is very tender, the beef is very tasty, the salmon is pretty good, the ribs is a little small so I don’t think it’s worth it, and the shrimp is pretty good too. If you get your bowl with veggies, just get broccoli only, because there is marinated carrots with hot pepper on the side for free that you can eat from.

The Chicken Teriyaki bowl was great with brown rice. I was looking for a quick and helathy lunch and I got it at Waba Grill.

A lot of places like this are springing up all over the place, the typical rice and meat place with the option of getting brown rice and white meat chicken if you wish for optimal dietary healthiness. When compared to somewhere like the Flame Broiler, it stands out because they offer more selections than just beef and chicken, they also offer kalbi ribs, chicken salad, salmon, and shrimp. it’s great that they offer a larger selection of food for anyone who would like to add variety to their diet. A bonus is that this location has two TVs and had a Clippers game playing when we visited, so that was a great addition to our dinner. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

Always enjoy coming to this WaBa Grill! Great food as always! If you come on the weekend you can get a 2 for 1 special for 8.99! When you get the special, you receive double the meat. Always great!

My wife and I just left there for a take out order for 2 chicken bowls and it rings up for $ 15 and change and my wife ask was its Tuesday isn’t there a special the girls response is yes Lao wife asks why I’m I not getting the special price and the lady behind the counter said you did not ask for it and 1 of them has broccoli so we said ok we cancel the broccoli and she said no to late and mind you out food wasn’t even ready yet. Then we said them charge us for a side of broccoli response is no. The customer service is terrible and I will not be going there any time soon I wish I got the lady’s name cause I wouldn’t have her work for me if she was the last person on earth

Very clean, super nice people there, and when I placed my order I specifically wanted my chicken cut in tiny pieces, and sure enough it was done. Food was very fresh and hot.

Healthiest place in the world !! I love the chicken teriyaki salad. Customer service is fast and friendly. I enjoy everything in their menu. I always order for take-out. It’s better to make a phone order. This place is always full of people at lunch hour. The location is so clean. The restrooms are very nice and clean. I recommend this location.

Steal in my opinion Food was hot looked and tasted great! Super clean eating area which we loved. Fast food doesnt always mean flavorless food. This place serves flavor. Rice was fluffy meat was cooked just right, and portions were perfect. self serve soda fountain was great too! Come check it out for lunch or dinner. Either way you will leave full and still have money in your pocket! Socals hidden gem

Food here is great. I think much better than flame broiler or b mans. Too bad there isn’t a drive thru. Real clean inside, service is fast, people are nice. Overall good place to eat.

Definitely a fan of this place. The food always tastes good and is fresh. But the reason it gets such a positive review from me is because they don’t make a big deal about subbing veggies for rice in any of their dishes. In fact, they advertise it. And because of that, I will continue to eat there regularly.

Food was good service was bad. The cooks and everyone in the kitchen were all over the place. I waited 20 mins for my food and the cashier had an attitude problem. As I was observing her take everyone’s order she kept on changing people’s order. There was no structure at all… But the food was great… I might not return to this waba grill but will def return to another one.

Went last night for a steak and vege bowl, very delicious! I was a flame broiler fan for sometime now and think I have now been converted. Customer service wasn’t bad or special, typical fast food joint, but store was very clean and pretty busy. Oh, nice that the game was on and free wifi while I waited for our food.

We had been going to the Japanese grill on the south side of the 210 freeway, but thought is was time for a change. The choices at WaBa were healthy, tasty, prepared quickly and served by a friendly staff. We will be returning for more!

I ordered the salmon plate and bowl and both filets were thin and burnt on the bottom(contains carcinogen). I specifically asked the cashier over the phone to not overcook the salmon but I guess they can do anything they want if the orders are to go. If I had dined in I would have had them redo my order. I will not be coming back to this location. I never had this problem at the West Covina location. Management please be consistent with your food and don’t become cheap!

I’m so glad that there’s a good, no great, teriyaki bowl place close to home(I’m looking at you, Flame Broiler). After a less than mediocre experience at the Flame Broiler(henceforth referred to as FB) down the street, I was excited to try the new kid on the block. Featuring a similar menu, I pretty much knew I’d like it. Unfortunately for my wallet, that was the understatement of the century! I. LOVE. WABA. GRILL. I started with my FB usual, the half and half combo with veggies, brown rice, and onions. The major difference I notice here was the steak. It’s so much better than FB’s. Sliced thin and marinated, it’s tender and less salty than that other joint’s. The chicken was just as good. The veggies and brown rice were plentiful, making the $ 9 pricetag(with a drink) well worth the healthy and delicious meal. I’ve had a habit of going 2 – 3 times a week since I first discovered Waba, intending to try the other bowl options but always finding my craving for the #18 too strong. By the way, the hot sauce, sriracha, and teriyaki are all great toppers. I like to mix my sriracha into my teriyaki and dump it all on top for a sweet and spicy kick. The other hot sauce adds a little heat and a nice kick of vinegar. My favorite addition, by far, are the toasted sesame seeds. How such a little seed adds so much is beyond me, but they’re delicious. I finally brought myself to try the salmon veggie combo bowl. While my love for sushi knows no bounds, I’m still weary of cooked fish because of its tendency, at least in the past, to be fishy in taste(we all know that this is the obvious sign of it being not-so-fresh). Still, I was craving the salmon variation of my favorite bowl and feeling adventurous. Little did I know I’d be making my future trips to Waba that much tougher as a grappled between two bowls. The salmon was perfectly cooked and there was a generous amount on my bowl. I did feel that the rice and veggies were significantly less than that in the chicken/beef combo bowl. When I get the chicken/beef combo bowl, the meat is touching the lid. With the salmon bowl, the fish and avocado(yes, I succumbed to my avocado addiction) didn’t touch at all. I was worried that it would be filling enough to warrant future $ 10 purchases(with drink), but I was proven wrong as the meal was perfectly filling. The major deciding factor here was customer service. Read anyone’s review of the aflame Broiler down the street and you’ll know that they take their jobs less than seriously. Waba is different. You’re greeted almost instantaneously as you walk in. The employees, all of the ones I’ve met so far, are really friendly and helpful. They smile as they run through your order and as they hand it back out when it’s ready, always with an, «Enjoy your meal! Thanks for stopping in!» They clearly know how to keep a customer coming back(again, I’ve become addicted and show up about 2 – 3 times a week). Bottom line: stellar food that’s healthy paired with great service and a reasonable price rage means that I’ll be coming back. Obviously. At the time of this review I’d been in ten times before I got back on Unilocal to write a review. The proof is in the pudding.

Can’t go wrong with the teriyaki chicken bowl, brown rice, and add avocado! Add a lil sriracha for some kick and its a perfect lil meal. Small, lil spot — been waiting for this location to open, it’s much closer to me now than the one located in the eastland shopping center next to menchies!
