I really love their caramels!
I ordered a couple packages for my Tahoe trip right after the Unilocal Xmas party. Why has it taken me so long to review? Well, the product itself was wonderful as was their one day turnaround time. Beyond a couple of chews that were too fresh and hadn’t hardened enough I adore their recipe and the way they package them. Yay Salty Dog!
But I found their shipping to be on the high side, especially for locals so I ended up picking them up at their office. That’s pretty much where I found the downside to my experience.
The service was great once I got there, but the building is mostly unmarked and they aren’t listed on the sheet out front. It’s also quite confusing once you get into the building to find their particular office since it’s in a big hallway of other warehouse offices. You aren’t given the address when you buy off their site (you receive it after asking through email), so you’re agreeing to something you don’t actually understand when given the choice. Which for me was an issue as it’s not in the best area and parking is quite difficult.
I think if they had been available in a storefront or if their shipping prices came way down I would probably order again, but the hassle and price has kept me from coming back.

Number one, they are delish.

Number three, can I please get more?
With flavors such as salted caramel w/​sea salt (aka Salty Dog), Madagascar vanilla bean (aka Eligible Heiress), Madagascar vanilla w/​Roasted Almond (aka The Windfall), cocoa bean (aka Distinguished Gentleman), how can you go wrong? Exceptional flavors, paired with such creatively suited names, is a winner in my book!
Special note:
All their candy is gluten-​free and only fresh, sustainably farmed, organic ingredients are used.
Bottom line:
Valentines Day is fast approaching. I’m about to purchase a few boxes online for my loved ones and I! The Lady Luck ½ pound gift box ($ 25) comes bundled w/​their mexican chocolate and vanilla bean/​roasted almond flavors. Yum.
