Powder room. Dusting of powered sugar and a very friendly staff member saved the third star for what was an otherwise bland and lukewarm waffle. At least the $ 5 price can’t be beat.

The place was very large and accommodating. You could grab something over the counter To Go or sit and eat. I chose sit. The menu is a bit pricey but food is great! I had the strawberry Nutella crêpe! It was sheer perfection! I’m glad I came upon this little find while visiting SF.

My husband and I are staying at the Villa Florence and I had a 1:00 appointment not far away, so we figured Café Bellini would be a good place to grab a quick lunch. Wrong. The waitress, who had a strange affect, took our order for sodas and sandwiches. The drinks arrived quickly, delivered by another server. We never saw the waitress again. After at least 20 minutes of post-drinks waiting(could have been a half hour), my husband went to the front desk and inquired about our food. The woman at the register said she’d check. She never got back to us. I had to leave without eating. On the upside, they did not charge for the sandwich I didn’t get to eat, and they offered my husband some food to take with him. But, all in all, it was a very negative experience. They either don’t know how to handle basics like communicating with customers or they just don’t care, because they can rely on a steady stream of ignorant tourists. And we’re still wondering what happened to the waitress…

I work right across the street so this place is convenient for a quick coffee. I’ve tried some of the other stuff here and I’m not impressed. The prices are a bit steep and the quality is definitely sub par. You’re basically only coming here for convenience. I was hungry one day and decided to have a sand which, I grabbed a chicken and cranberry prepped sandwich from the fridge and called in a day. It was disgusting. I expected it to taste like the sandwiches from Starbucks, the filling looked about the same and it was cut diagonally as well. I figured it was two halves of a sand which wrapped diagonally, but boy was I wrong, it turned out to be just half a sandwich and three slices of bread. It tasted of dry chicken and mayo. No thanks. Two bites and then the trash ate it. The soups are nothing to brag about either. There is one thing that keeps me coming back and that is the Cinnamon roll. It’s flake and has just the right amount of Cinnamon and sugar. I usually buy one and take it back to work and nuke it for about 30 seconds. My coworkers do come here often for their fro yo and iced coffees.

On a busy street by Union Square so I am sure people just walk in there because it’s there. They have a panini sign written outside but don’t get fooled because they definitely do not have paninis… That was true for several places in SF, I guess they don’t know what paninis are… They give you free bread to dip in olive oil and vinegar. That’s always a plus. Don’t remember what I ordered from there so I guess it wasn’t spectacular… or was it maybe a quiche? It was an okay place.

Went into Café Bellini this morning on my way to work. I’ve passed a million times but never stopped. So glad I did. I’m always searching for good Italian-esque places and Bellini is great. Had an espresso(they serve Lavazza– my favorite) at the counter and chatted with the ladies. The one star deduction is because its pricey, but that is understandable cause of the location.

Food was OK and display was beautiful. Service was slow-very few people in restaurant at time we were there. Not overly friendly or helpful either. Sign said bathroom only for patrons. However, saw staff point way to bathrooms to others just looking for a bathroom. Not a problem except I then saw some of the few patrons waiting in line. I would advice looking in window at the goodies and then keep going-you’ll find better.

I come here for the Corn Chowder of San Francisco Soup Co. and Bellini’s pre-made little sandwiches like brie and apples or caprese. It’s close to work and I love that corn chowder. Three stars off for always less than minimum service. I’ve come in there and seen a few acts of bad hygiene. I’ve witnessed workers talking badly out loud about other customers before me that have just left. I’ve been there when one lady by herself was on the phone talking the whole time and I kept a cool face, stared and waited. And waited. And waited. And, she finally asked if I was ready, I ordered my corn chowder and said no bread. She put the bread and continued to talk on the phone as she rung me up. I didn’t pull my money out when I saw the price because she continued talking on the phone for another minute. So, I waited and stared at this woman that was just couple feet directly in front of me, talking away. And waited. And waited. She finally put the phone away from her ear and looked up at me and I politely asked if she was ready for me to pay. Coming from hospitality and restaurants for years and years, those ladies are not the shining example of excellence by any means. As I said in the beginning. I go there for the SF Soup Co. goodness and little pre-made sandwiches. In and out to get a quick bite to go during my super quick breaks.

Food is decent, i had a smoked salmon bagel and the salmon was warm… Made it taste disgusting and killed my whole meal! If it would of been cold like it should have been it would have been good! Fries were good but soda in a can is not the business! Place is a little tight and cramped and sometimes too packed!

We stopped by here for breakfast. The wait was quite long for two breakfast dishes, and although the place had plenty of seating inside, there was quite a line. It just seems to be poorly managed. The food was alright. Nothing to rave, nor complain about. It was rather pricey though. I’d say that unless you are unsure where else to go, and are super hungry, then go there. Otherwise skip it.

Not the best place to get a to-go order during peak hours during the week. My experience was a weekday morning ordering a breakfast sandwich to go. Give yourself extra time to check your order before leaving. What is ironic is the cashier taking my order asked me repeatedly if I wanted cream cheese in my order before ringing me in. I just kept repeating my answer, «Just bacon-egg-cheese-on-plain-bagel.» She was nice and everything, though. So was the rest of the staff. What I got was bacon-tomato on sesame bagel 20 minutes after walking in. I guess I wasn’t clear enough? Also, someone described Bellini as a «hole in the wall». Not accurate. This is clearly a tourist trap that is Union Square. You are paying for their prime location cost when you pay your tab. Nothing wrong with that necessarily.

Really good café! All the ingredients are fresh and crisp. I reccomend the chicken club penni sandwich and the pastas here. Definitely coming back here the next time I go up to San Fran

How would you like to go to mc donalds and pay restaurant prices? Tip before you get your food? And get mediocre fare?(mcdonalds will result in a better breakfast experience) if so… Come to café bellini! I just paid $ 16 for the most disgusting eggs benedict I have ever tried. In comparison… Nook in nyc is $ 8 for the best egg benedict you will ever have.

My boyfriend got the peperoni and sausage pizza… and I loved it and so did he! I got the Salmon dish on the specialties section of the menu. The salmon and the vegetables were great. I thought it was a little weird that they served that dish with cubed crunchy potatoes, kind of like home fries. Mashed potatoes or side pasta would have gone better, or even better some type of rice. The sauce on the salmon was perfect, my only suggestion is that I would have preferred to have more of it! Overall, great find!

This little hole-in-the wall is on the bottom floor of a hotel facing the cable car loading spot on Powell Street. Their regular drip coffee(Lavazza) is surprisingly good! They have fresh-squeezed orange juice and pastries and stuff too. As I recall, they have a pretty good punch card deal. If you work in the area, this is a great place to get your morning fix of caffeine. If there is ever a line, it moves very quickly.
