We love eggets and Boba drinks after school for a fun snack. Courteous service and tasty treats.

I would recommend Genki in Inner Richmond if you prefer crispy egg puffs with a less battery center like I do.

The one good thing about this place is the food and drinks are cheap. But the staff is rude, they don’t smile or anything, they don’t even look you in the eye when they talk to you. It’s not the kind of place you rave about. I ordered chocolate eggettes and they were good, not especially good or bad. It’s just a very you get what you pay for kind of place.

Eggettes was my first review(oh my god that was 8 years ago)… and I still come here! The drinks and snacks are all very consistent. I swarmed the place just about every afternoon after class when I was in middle school, but even now that I don’t spend much time in the area, I swing by every now and then for a drink. Usually it’s a milk tea — I’ve tried so, so many boba places in this city, and I think Eggettes still wins hands down for the best HK-style milk tea. Their version is just fantastic — the balance of flavor is on point and the tea is strong.(As a plus, I recently learned that they also keep a less-sweet batch on hand for those of us who prefer a tad less cloying sweetness in our drinks. Just ask!) However, their smoothies are also great because of the real fruit, and they have a nice variety of other teas and dessert-y drinks(looking at you, boba frappes.) I will concede that it doesn’t have the best boba, at least for my preferences. Usually it’s quite soft, whereas I love tapioca that has some firmness to it. But I’ll forgive them because of their amazing milk tea, which I legitimately have cravings for, and because their beverages basically raised me. Or something like that.

This time I tried the coffee milk tea, SOGOOD! taste authentic. I will get less sugar next time, because regular sweetness is a little sweet for me, but the coffee is strong and bold, yet you can still taste the tea flavor from the militia. Will come back for the coffee milk tea for sure!

Been wanting to write a review for one of my favorite milk tea places that has been around for a very long time. My favorite drinks here are milk tea, thai iced tea, and honey milk green tea(hot or cold depending on the weather). The milk tea actually taste like Hong Kong milk tea. As for the eggettes as this store is named after, you can never go wrong with original flavor. On occasions they will have coconut and honeydew flavors. The coconut eggettes has coconut bits when you bite into it. Honeydew tastes like honeydew.

After being dissatisfied with the Eggettes in San Mateo, my friend convinced me to try this location for their notorious CRISPY eggettes. Im someone who always wants my eggettes with the perfect amount of crisp on the outside with the chewey delicious warmth on the inside. To my surprise, the two times coming to this Eggettes location, the eggettes definitely maintained their crunch even after sitting and chatting with my friends. Not the cleanest looking place, but an easy quick place to get some yummy crunchy eggettes ! Steel chairs and tables were a bit uncomfortable, but s’ll good !

There’s not really much to say besides this is the spot I go to for my egg puffs when I crave. They usually have original flavor, chocolate, and another flavor. The last two times I been, it was coconut. I haven’t tried this one because I’m not really a coconut flavor person, though I like coconut milk desserts and coconut water… But I really like their egg puffs! I haven’t had any that I didn’t like, so they are decently consistent with their puffs. Also had a soy milk tea, which was good. I’m not sure if I am lactose intolerant, so it was nice that they have an option for soy milk tea. They have several tables for sitting down and chatting, as well as some key chain turning machines in the back. I like their Chinese music playlist hehe reminds me of my times in Asiaaaa.

I’ve been coming here for years now and finally giving this place the recognition it deserves! I come here for the eggettes, the honeydew ones specifically. This is a nice HK dessert that isn’t overly sweet and is served nice and warm. Eggettes are perfect with the marshmallow frappé that I ALWAYS order when I come here. The frappé is a blended drink comparable to the Starbucks fraps but with marshmallows and whipped crème. I always add boba balls to it and the drink is perfection. This is a must try here are Eggettes!

Clean, fast, cheap, friendly, and delicious! Eggettes is my all-time favorite go-to place for milk tea, drinks, or smoothies. Today, I finally came back to this location. It brings back so many memories since I use to come so frequently when my middle school was one block away. I haven’t been to this location because it is quite far for me. There is always Hong Kong music videos playing on their TV. The only difference between then and now is that they took the computers away. Back then, kids would go on their computers afterschool to play ClubPenguin or Neopets. The drinks are made super quickly. The workers here sure know their drinks well! They even walked over to us and handed us our drink which was a plus. The prices have not skyrocketed over the years as more locations opened up along with the many competitors as milk tea became more popular over the years. Everything on the menu is pretty much less then $ 5 per item! ****Milk tea $ 2.50 — I would say eggettes have the best Milk Tea. It tastes authentic and straight from Hong Kong. ****Mango Freeze $ 3.25 — My favorite drink at eggettes. They use real mango chunks and blend it nicely for a fresh mango smoothie. ***Strawberry Freeze $ 3.35 — i wanted something fruity today and using real fruits is always a plus! I couldn’t stop drinking it until I was finished. *** Imitation fin-soup is always a great choice for a light meal especially when you mix it with red vinegar sauce! ***Eggettes — Always at the perfect crisp on the outside and the perfect softness on the inside. Try their Honeydew one!

I’d thought I update my review now that my previous one is over five years old. I still love coming for their fin soup(though it’s on the sweet side compared to other places I have it). I also come to enjoy their hot malt tea on occasions that I have it. Generally the staff is nice, but today at 5:30pm I felt the young lady I ordered from was a bit on the rise, unfriendly side with the way she responded to my ordering and such. It was a disappointment to encounter that since up to now I feel the place gee rally have a well-trained staff considering most of them appear to be college-student age. Therefore, reduction of one star in the rating.

This was the first time I ordered boba here and being a boba newb I turned to the Unilocal reviews for guidance. Based on the reviews my expectations were fairly low and I figured my actual experience could only improve from there. The cashiers attitude was pretty lackluster. She half greeted us with her mouth filled with food. And it wasn’t like we caught her off guard, there was a small line. She took our order and continued to shove food into her face. Where’s the manner police when you need them? I got the almond milk tea because I have this thing for almonds. It was absolutely delicious! I downed that bad boy before I even got home and I live really close. I raved to my husband about it and he said its close by so bonus points! After a few hours I started to feel overly sugared up and realized they didn’t offer a sweetness level. I normally get less sweet so I was on sugar overload at that point. And I normally get the agar boba since it’s healthier and chalked full of fiber goodness. There were no options here like that to my knowledge. So, because my thirst quenching drink was more of a dessert drink I probably would not order another boba here unless I was sure there were more options or was having a sugar spurge day.

Compared to its sister in Millbrae, this place is only mediocre. The batter for the eggettes isn’t as sweet, and they consistently don’t have large cups. Prices at this location are also about 25 – 50 cents higher than in Millbrae as well. I can see why even though this place is next to Polly Ann, there normally aren’t a lot of people in here. Lots of people loiter in here because of the wifi, and I can say that at least they’re still using real fruit to make their juices/freezes. Other than that, I prefer Millbrae. And this place is cash only. Also another drawback.

This place was pretty nice! I got Thai tea with boba and tried the original eggettes. Thai tea was just okay, very sweet. A lot of boba for the small sized drink I ordered. I’ve never had these egg puffs before, and I was pleasantly surprised. Outside was hard and the inside was softer. Yum! Best part is this place is very affordable.

Eggettes reminds me of a boba shop I’d find in New York: cash only, powder mixed drinks, and a bustling multilingual staff. The place is just big enough to accommodate groups of young Chinos who are passing the time and lines short enough to keep the boba crazed quenched. Bubble tea here is an easy sell, especially during the warmer months(#1). Flavors aplenty, though I think the regular milk tea($ 3) is their best seller. Those going the shake route will find good success with the avocado /papaya juice me thinks, though going the taro($ 3) route is an easy choice. If boba is not your game, shoot for a frap or fruit breeze. The real star of the show might not be bubble tea at all. Their signature item and namesake, eggettes(雞蛋仔) are available in multiple flavors(chocolate, honey dew, sesame, and coconut). Eggettes are a bit like waffles but with a crêpe like exterior. Crunchy and not too sweet, they complement the drinks quite well. If eggettes don’t appeal to you, shoot for some of their hot food items. Curry fish balls((咖哩魚旦) and fish siu mai are easy to snack on, though the rice rolls(腸粉) practically double as drunk food. I would avoid the gelatinous fin soup at all costs. It’s awful. It’s refreshing to see that this is the only location because Eggettes would exist as a franchise anywhere else. The service will vary for every person, but in general it’s not very stellar. Come for the drinks and eggettes, don’t stay for the hot food. Make this a post-dinner experience and all will be well. _________ (#1) Just kidding. This is SF remember?

I never understood the name«eggette.» In English I have always referred to 雞蛋仔 as egg waffles. It wasn’t until college when I met people from SF that I started hearing them called eggettes. Still sounds strange to me… From the name, you can tell what this place specializes in. I’ll say that they’re better than all the other HK cafes and snack shops I’ve tried in the US, though they’re obviously a step down from the popular snack stands in HK. I prefer the original flavor, but they have a handful of other flavors too if that’s what you prefer. The majority of their menu is actually drinks. Note that their milk tea is more HK style than Taiwanese style(boba shops). I always prefer HK milk tea, but I know the taste is not for everyone(I don’t think I know a single non-Cantonese person who actually prefers it…). Also, Polly Ann is right next door. Two great desserts right next door to each other makes this trip to the middle of Sunset well worth it.

Not sure what I was expecting. I guess I was hoping to find my new favorite egg puff place since I moved out of NY. This, though, was definitely not it. The egg puffs were dry and oddly bland. The mango smoothie was sour and unsatisfying. We even gave it another chance and tried a milk tea. That’s when we realized that we have to give up on this place because it wasn’t just a one-time fluke. It wasn’t good the second time around either :(

Ever since I was in elementary school — this was the spot to go after school. As for drinks, I always get their strawberry freeze w/tapioca; and if I’m feeling like I want some actual food, I’ll get an eggette or rice rolls! The only downside is that they are cash only.

Eggettes is always a solid place to go for dessert — nothing special but nothing too bad. They’re best known for the egg puffs(my favorite are the plain, old original ones), which have both a nice crispiness on the outside and soft chewiness on the inside. It’s a nice balance that makes these egg puffs so delicious and addicting. The milk tea is certainly not the best in town, but it’s sufficient for a quick fix. It’s a bit sweet for my liking, so I usually ask them to make it a less sweet. I must say, another surprise is their fin soup. It’s from legit or authentic, but it’s cheap and still decent, so who am I to complain. In my opinion, it’s not the best place to hang out with friends just because the chairs aren’t the most comfortable(they’ve got cold, hard chairs) and the place isn’t exactly the most homey-feeling. Overall though, it’s still a solid place to come to after dinner to grab some quick dessert.

On my last day in San Francisco I was fortunate enough to be able to meet up with an old school friend(and one of the best people in my life) who lives in the city. I told her I wanted to see San Francisco from her point of view, screw the touristy places, I wanted to see and go to places that she as a local enjoyed. One of our(many!) stops that day was Eggettes, a cute little boba spot in the Outer Sunset district. My friend had rave reviews about Eggettes, and said it was some of the best boba she had ever had so I was excited to give it a shot. Being rather new to boba I asked for mine with light, I wish I would have asked for more, it was delicious — perfectly refreshing and chewy. I went with the Mango-Orange drink at the suggestion of my friend and I was not disappointed. We also shared an original Eggette, which is an interesting concept to me. It’s basically a waffle, but parts of it are paper thin and then other parts form these little rip-able egg shaped fluffy mounds of goodness. Served piping hot it was delicious, and I’m not sure if it’s available but it would be wonderful if they offered some dipping sauces to go with them(chocolate? maple syrup? caramel…) Service was fast efficient and friendly. Both the seating area and the restroom were kept very clean and there was a wide selection of outlets(about 2 per table) for people to lounge and charge their mobile devices. Overall I was a fan, and I’m glad we got to take a quick little snack break here.

I come to Eggettes for their eggettes. I can down that $ 3 bag without stopping, sometimes we walk down Noriega towards the sea while snacking on the eggettes because it’s just a beautiful sight. Each eggette(and in between) is crunchy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside — don’t worry about chewy dough, these are almost half hollow, giving it the lightest taste and most undeniable aroma that resemble waffles. The chocolate flavor is on point too, and the melon is for adventurists, so tell me how it goes after you’ve tried it. Milk tea has always been good too, and I’ve tried their imitation fin soup once which was also surprisingly good. BUT come for their eggettes. Lol. Tip — Polly Ann is next door, if your party isn’t convinced for a detour to this milk tea and eggettes place, tell them there is about 30 flavors of ice cream as backup right next door. But get the eggettes and convert them. :3
