A little pricey for a taqueria but it makes sense considering its the city. Burritos we had were flavorful and a really good size. I was completely stuffed after finishing my carne asada burrito. The chips were fairly decent as well.

I dropped by here just before 12 noon for a light lunch. I had lots of choices, but I chose a quesadilla with chicken. I took a table and my meal was ready in less than 10 minutes. The quesadilla was delicious, full of chicken and cheese. What I liked best was athat the tortilla was crisp, not soft like most quesadillas. It also came with a baggie of tortilla chips that were very thick, crisp and fresh. I was able to eat only half of my quesadilla so I saved the rest for later in the day. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and as good as any place in the Mission District.

El NorCal burrito was a delicious twist on the Cali burrito. Meanwhile, the chile relleno was wholesome and delish as well. House chips are great and overall it’s as authentic as it gets in the city.

I can’t stop eating here… so freaking amazing. Home cooked chips. Any options you want or don’t want, they will do it. Sweet family business with killer food, need I say more. I’ve been on a bean and cheese kick this week — good old standard with either black, pinto, refried or some combo. Keep doin’ it right EBX. Love you and your food.

I was really excited about eating here but was sadly disappointed. The one good thing was the Veracruz fish burrito– delicious! It could have had more meat, but even with the brown rice it had great flavor! However, we also got a macho burrito with grilled and shredded chicken. No shredded chicken, apparently they were out. That is all well and fine… but I split the burrito with my boyfriend and kid you not there was one piece of chicken in my half. And no guacamole. The whole thing was just rice and sour cream. I totally get that guacamole is expensive so they want to limit it– but none? I am fine with paying extra for it so that I actually get it, but sheesh don’t say it is included then put none in! Le sigh. Pretty unimpressed.

Best cheap, takeout, solid Mexican food in SF that I have found to date. Definitely more of a takeout than dine-in spot, but great nonetheless. Their al pastor is perfection.

Thank you for reinvigorating my love for burritos… Pollo, black beans, brown rice, avocado, and pico de gallo all wrapped in a warm crispy tortilla. Sprinkle some hot sauce on top and that’s my kind of perfection. Throw it in a bag to go with some chips & salsa. Total = $ 6.50 Take my money and thank you!!!

Thank you once again Celia! We loved the food you and your staff prepared for our Holiday luncheon a few weeks ago. Feliz Navidad to you all! FYI-Celia is very professional, courteous, and prompt when you contact her for your catering needs.

Wish I had 10 stars as an option. Oh man, that was awesome and I am not big on Mexican food. Hands down, best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

Hits the spot perfectly if you’re craving Mexican food! Order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. There’s some tables to sit at inside. I got the El Norcal burrito($ 8.50) which had carne asada and fries and was filled with delicious sauce. I highly recommend getting this! My boyfriend got the nachos grande($ 10) which are pricey for nachos but it was a HUGE serving size. It was enough for two people. The nachos were toasted and covered with cheese, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa. Both things we got were amazing! I’ll definitely be back.

I ordered the El terrapin burrito to be delivered. Maybe they just honestly forgot the avocado, or maybe they knew since I was having it delivered there wasn’t anything I could do about it, but paying $ 9.50 plus $ 4.50 for delivery plus tip for a burrito that’s literally beans and rice? No thanks.

So I have ordered from here twice for delivery. Food was good, but the delivery side needs some work. Food: Enchiladas(beef and chicken) are great and pretty cheap!(Although they throw sour cream on top, so ask for none on it if you don’t want it thrown on top) Burritos are good. Al Pastor was alright, I’ve had better. I got the super sized one, it makes it a little bigger than the regular sized one(different has nothing to do with what’s put inside). Churros are good. Horchata is decent. Delivery: First time I ordered, my food was smooshed together. The box with my enchiladas was dripping in sauce. The sauce spilled over onto my burrito’s foil. Second time ordering, my food was a little cold and the delivery guy forgot my horchata. He had to go all the way back to the restaurant and back to my place just to bring it, and then there was no straw given to me either. Both times, no napkins, and no utensils were provided. Update(Changed from 4 stars to 2 stars): Ordered food from here again, still received no eating utensils, no napkins, no straws, nothing. Just the food. And I had specifically requested them. So since I have no straws, I open up my horchata and found a dead fly floating in there. Definitely not ordering from here again.

EBX2 catered the welcome reception for our wedding at the Ralston White Retreat in Mill Valley. Everyone was raving about how good the food was. The EBX staff was prompt, polite and very accommodating. You can’t find many people like this in San Francisco that will cater a 100 person event for the price. We over-ordered a bit and everyone enjoyed the food again the next day after a long morning hike before the wedding. We paid extra to have a couple of EBX staff hang around to help with clean up and swapping out trays when they were getting over. They did a fantastic job as well! I wouldn’t hesitate to have EBX cater another event. One thing to note is that EBX does not provide chafers. Luckily, our wedding night caterer was able to provide these for us.

A wise person once told me they don’t trust Mexican food in SF… my momma would always tell me to never trust a big butt and a smile. Look at me now. I feel like I’m married to a terrorist… This place is as good as the pictures lead on. I would have taken a picture of my own but I got the el expresso(hold the napkins) and it wasn’t that serious. There are plenty of pictures of it already posted. Another picture of the same thing wasn’t going to make it look any better. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because this is the first taco spot that I’ve been to in the city. There has to be room for better, even if that means going back to this place and trying something else(and you better believe I will be back). **Note: I love my wife even if she does spew poison… from time to time.

This is actually my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Pacific Heights area, out of the 4 – 5 that you could choose from along the Divisadero corridor. Some might consider it slightly fusion because they offer items that are not common Mexican food items(e.g. El Tofu Burrito)…but that being said, this is a vegetarian and vegan friendly Mexican restaurant, which is a nice plus. Prices are reasonable, perhaps even on the inexpensive side. They have a frequent customer burrito card where you can buy 9 burritos and get the 10th free. This is especially good for those who work in one of the nearby hospitals(UCSF Mt. Zion, Kaiser). My favorite item here is their carne asada quesadilla. They keep their quesadilla simple(quality carne, cheese, black pepper) and delicious, which is how I like it. You can request extras like onions, salsa, guacamole. Each entrée comes with a side of free tortilla chips and choice of red or green chile salsa. Down side might be that they don’t have an open salsa bar like many Mexican restaurants do, including many of the other Mexican restaurants along Divisadero.

It doesn’t look like much… but do the best burrito places, ever? I may or may not have been influenced by the watermelon vodkas I had down the street(Lion’s Pub is just a couple blocks away), but decided to order a burrito with fish. I was pleasantly surprised to learn the fish was not fried, and it was cooked fresh to order. It took a minute, but it was totally worth it. Super fresh, and good quality. Tons of points for offering wheat and other tortilla options, as well as brown rice and plenty of different filling choices(including not one but several vegetarian options — tofu, seitan, veggies, etc.). You can order from the extensive specialty burrito menu, or create your own. The burritos were large, and they were delicious. I also like that they serve house-made chips and salsa with every order — although I thought both of these were just ok. Would I have liked the option to have my water refilled, and to have more napkins? Yes. But the satisfaction of a fresh, custom burrito that was big enough to last me two meals(yet didn’t) kept me satisfied. El Burrito Express: Come for the burritos. Stay for the… no, don’t stay. Take the burrito and walk away, happy.

I have also been meaning to try the food from here for quite some time. Today, I finally got the chance to do so. After taking some time to look through the menu, I ordered a flour quesadilla with chicken and cheese. The quesadilla tastes good and I am craving for another one as I write this review. Reasons for the rating: — Friendly staff(+1) — Efficient service(+1) — Good food(+1) — Good first experience(+1) The size of this restaurant is a little bigger compared to their Taraval location. Seats are available for 20 – 30 patrons! BRIEFUPDATEFROM8÷19÷2015: El Burrito Express is most certainly one of the best taquerias I have patronized. The staff members here are friendly, service is very good and the food is delicious. I enjoyed the plate of Carne Asada fries I ordered. French Fries topped with Grilled Beef and Cheese melted on top is so delicious. One part I really liked was how they place a foil on the plates for customers eating in. This is indeed a wonderful tactic! Overall, very good experiences here!

Breakfast all day! Every once in a while I like to start my day carb heavy, with some good ol’ breakfast burrito, nachos on the side, and horchata. Good thing El Burrito Express 2 is close by so I just need to stumble down Divis to get my Mexican fix. This is a good spot to pick up your stuff to-go, as most of the patrons seem to do. The portions are huge and one burrito will fill you up for the day. I also like their cheese quesadillas($ 5.75) with enough sour cream on the side. El Burrito Express 2 is a decent Mexican fast food option in a neighborhood that’s lacking exactly that.

Wait… how is it possible I haven’t reviewed this place yet?! Ok… favorite burrito place in the city. They have burritos for every mood. For example, if you just got out of the gym and just want a hearty lean burrito then you can go for the Ranchero which a $ 10 baby arm filled with just meat, rice, and beans. The have burritos with fries in them, they have surf and turf burritos which is half shrimp half carne, they have El Macho which is basically a double carne asada. It’s just a solid place for a filling burrito. I’ve been wanting to try the nachos but the burritos are so good I haven’t had a chance. The people that work there are super nice and chill. I think the people at an establishment are really important for repeat customers, and this place delivers. I don’t really recommend eating there, unless you’re like in high school, just because it gets busy and crowded, but def order for pickup.

The roommate was on the search for a good breakfast burrito. After looking around online, he decided on El Burrito Express 2. We picked up food for take out. November 2013 *Breakfast burrito *El expresso burrito(carnitas) *Asada fries(no sour cream) *Hard shell taco(beef) *Free churro with purchase( Unilocal check in) I didn’t try any of the burritos, but the roommate liked them. I really liked the carne asada fries. A good amount of cheese, meat and guac. The hard shell taco was good as well. The shell was crunchy and the beef had great flavor. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal to get your free churro. Great joint for asada fries and hard tacos!
