The burrito mojado was gigantic, a standard grade burrito but bigger with enchilada sauce on top with a side salad. The carne asada was tender and flavorful. This quiet setting is perfect for a date or any conversation meet.

I have been going to this place with my family since i was a little girl, and this is definitely authentic mexican food. I love going to the mission district for some bombass food, and this is just perfect. Their meat is marinaded perfectly for their tacos and burritos. They also have a bunch of soups and other yummy things. Its my go to spot whenever im in san francisco

It was all delicious! More than enough food! All portions were huge. We had a super quesadilla, a torta, super burrito and pozole!

Those tacos al pastor… … …just. So good. So perfect. Exactly what I dream and drool about when I’m traveling and there are no authentically good Mexican joints. I think they’re the perfect tacos. But then again, I’m only now getting down with the whole corn tortilla bit. I’ll let you know if I find more. Because I will. It’s the Mission after all.

This was the first restaurant my father went to when he came to the United States from Mexico. We have been coming here for years; however, the service has been declining. The last couple of times we’ve eaten here, all the open tables are still dirty from previous people eating there and the workers don’t make an effort to clean it. I have worked in food service for years and would understand if it was busy and they just couldn’t find the time. But in this case, it’s always empty when we show up so there’s no excuse! Also, I took my mother there on Saturday and not only did we have to clean the table ourselves, there was a hair in my mom’s caldo de pollo! I put 2 stars because their food is good but I will definitely not be eating there again.

Why wait at el Farolito for 30 mins. when this place is just around the corner? Burritos are great, tacos are good, but what really takes home the prize is their great selection of Mexican soups. Menudo, birria, caldo de res, caldo de pollo, pozole, it is all quality stuff.

This place was a great alternative when my boyfriends heart was set on a breakfast burrito and Guadalajara wasn’t ready to open. I ordered the Camarones Ranchero(like every normal person on a Monday morning) and he got some super breakfast burrito. They offered us chips and they had my favorite, a salsa bar! I was extremely pleased when our food came out. The prices seemed a little steep for a quick mexican joint, but the portions were HUGE. I’m a big eater and I couldn’t even kind of finish my plate. His burrito was the most densely packed burrito I’ve seen in my life. Overall great service, good food, very good find.

I went in there and first thing the lady stared at me all rude… Then while we were paying for the food she was whispering to the other cashier and looking at me… The food wasnt so bad i had the coctel de camarones and it was good but there was more onions and tomatoes than anything… My boyfriend had some tacos and he said they were too spicy.

Got the super carne asada burrito and horchata. Burrito was pretty good but not too memorable. The horchata was delicious, though. Tip: Green sauce is spicy.

I loooooooove Taco Loco’s fish tacos. Delicious cilantro and onions combined with fish fried to perfection. You cannot beat the price. I have brought many friends here, and we now have a saying, «Do you want to go Loco?» which means do you want some delicious fish tacos!!!

My husband has been coming here for at least 30 years since he was a child. He introduced me to this place since we first started dating, and we still come to El Taco Loco ever since! The service for a burrito/taco joint is actually fantastic. It’s been 5 years since I’ve been eating here and never had I experienced bad service here. The girls tending the register are always sweet and courteous. We always get the carne asada super burrito, and it never fails to deliver consistent delicious taste! They always hook up on the assorted salsa bar and the chips! Thank you El Taco Loco for being consistently great. Now we take our children to eat here. Thank you also for the memories!

I stepped in here again to grab another torta, and catch the Mexico/Croatia World cup game. This time I ordered the chilanga torta that came packed with Carne Asada, ham, queso fresco, and jalapeños. The place was packed with many Mexico soccer supporters, and the vibe was very positive. The torta was delicious, the red salsa was extra spicy, and we had a great time watching Mexico pass on to the round of 16 :) stop by for a torta sometime, you won’t be disappointed!

Why is this place deserving of a review, much less a four star review, compared to all the other popular taquerias in the immediate vicinity? One word: breakfast! Why is it so hard to find a decent breakfast burrito in the Mexican food Mecca of SF? I wish I knew the answer to that. And no, «breakfast burritos» at joints that open at 10:00 am don’t count for those of us who drive into work during normal breakfast hours. Taco Loco loco hooks it up with yummy breakfast burritos. Their salsa bar is great too. And it is solid not just for breakfast, the lunch and dinner options are good too if you don’t want to wait in line at the more popular spot around the corner. Check out the unassuming Taco Loco for great grub at all times of the day, it won’t disappoint!

Authentic, delicious and cheap. Stuffed our faces for $ 15 bucks: D My fav taqueria dish is the huevos con chorizo with rice & beans. Theirs is very good. I can eat that everyday. Also ordered their asada and al pastor tacos — solid. Good flavor and tender. PS: their«large» horchata is gigantic 32oz! Will definitely come back for more scrambled eggs :) PPS: The secret is lard!

Best Mexican food ever!!! There are tons of Mexican spots in the mission but not all of them are good, this is a good and authentic restaurant! It may not look as appealing as others but their food is sanitized and priced more then fair! Im from the east bay &sometimes Bart it out here just for their food!

We came here after seeing reviews for $ 2.50 breakfast burrito/coffee combo and needed to see it with my own eyes. Well lets just say those days are over. The super breakfast burrito is now a whopping $ 8(more expensive then the amazing version at its next door neighbor el faralito.) While the burrito came out the size of a small child and the chorizo was pretty tasty, everything else fell short… Runny guac, runny sour cream, there was no substance and the burrito felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment if not for the ninja wrap job with 5 sheets of aluminum foil. We won’t be back, and so our quest for the best mission breakfast burrito continues. Until next time.

Since I had just missed the train back to Oakland, I figured I’d stop into El Taco Loco 2 for a quick taco. I chose a shredded chicken soft with everything, helped myself to some radishes and tomatillo salsa from he well stocked salsa bar, and settled down in a booth to wait. It’s fun to sit there and watch the cooks behind the counter, as well as to watch the soccer and hear the patrons yell GOOOAAAALLLL when their team scores. My taco came in about 2 minutes and was delicious. I was really starving and the cook must’ve sensed it since the taco was heaped with chicken, onions, lettuce, salsa, avocado and hot sauce. Mmmm… it was so tasty and just what I wanted. I’d love to come back and try one of the soups or seafood cocktails. Everything looked and smelled divine, and the place was full of happy people chowing down. Muy gusto!

On a rainy Saturday, I was working the swing shift and I came here during my lunchtime. With the Giant’s playoff admiration, I was hopeful that the taqueria would be broadcasting the National League Playoff on the huge TV. Instead, the taqueria and its employees and patrons are loyal soccer fans. The taqueria don’t realize the Giants are in the playoffs with a huge chance of going to the World Series and perhaps, win it all. If the Giants win, it would definitely be good for many struggling businesses throughout the Bay Area. But no, the taqueria’s main love is definitely soccer. Because of soccer being shown, a star is taken off for that. I do like soccer, esp. FIFA World Cup, but the entire city of San Francisco’s current focus is watching the Giants play. The 24th street is still busy despite of the abrupt rain, including El Farolito Taqueria and many adjacent businesses. So I had no choice and ate here. I ordered the Carne Asada Super Burrito. For $ 6.00, the burrito is not in the same league as El Farolito’s. The meat tasted like ground beef used in a Sloppy Joe sandwich. Being here like twenty times and majority of the time, I usually have good burritos from here. Maybe I came on an off-day! The burrito didn’t taste that good especially eating and watching soccer with Manchester United played without United States’ own Wayne Rooney. Since the Giants are going to the World Series, it will remain to be seen, if the taqueria will show any of the World Series.
