I absolutely love this place! The have so many great dairy free options for smoothies. The juices are also fantastic! I hope they will open up more.

I love this place! They have the best kale smoothies. Does anyone know why they closed? :(

Cheat Day. I swear I’m usually good. But ever since I started this diet where The only things I’m allowed to eat are Grilled cheese sandwich burgers, Trays trays trays of raw oysters, Late night Korean bar tapas, And Southern fried everything… I’ve been having moments of weakness. Today I lost all willpower & caved in: Chicken Chickpea Broccoli Wrap x Purple Juice Go ahead — call me a quitter. I don’t care anymore. Might even cheat again. And wallow in my own shame.

Stopped in on a Saturday and got a garden juice with greens, beets and apple. It came out super quick and was pretty good(aside from some small pieces of veggies in it. Four stars for taste, three stars for price. My 16 ounce juice was $ 8 which I think is a little high. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

First thing when you walk in your nostrils are filled with a smell of something healthy… most probably kale as it seems to be in everything. However when you taste the smoothie you realise it is much better than say Jamba juice and is priced as such. Would stop by again for a cold healthy drink on a warm day the next time I am in Pac Heights

This is my first time trying a cold pressed juice place and I have to say it was pricy. It’s exactly what I could make at home and not pay $ 8 for a single drink. But overall, it’s a good experience and I did like the drink that I got and service was pretty fast. Kale smoothie: 3.5÷5: a pretty decent drink, it’s something similar to what i have made at home before. The mangoes, bananas and other fruits in here made this drink great and healthy. The price tag was the only thing I didn’t like. 16oz felt like a good amount and it was satisfying. Would I return here again? If I’m in the area and I don’t feel like making a smoothie at home, I’m more than willing to try this place out again.

I’ve always known Evolution Fresh to be the Starbucks affiliate with overpriced juice, but thanks to a corporate per diem I’ve gotten the chance to sample some of the food items that Evolution Fresh offers. I’m also a huge fan of green juice, so price aside, they do have a good variety of juice options that supplement your diet in the best way possible. One of my favorite things to get is Kevin’s quinoa, kale, and butternut squash salad. Chicken is a good protein to add to round out the meal, and the harissa sauce adds an extra punch and brings it all together. It’s a tasty, nutritious meal, but also not something that’s hard to recreate at home. We pay for convenience, and Evolution Fresh takes advantage of that!

I stopped by this place when it first opened up. I love how some juices were on tap!!! Anyways, I like the set up. While the price is higher than I would like it to be, I do believe that you pay for quality and I felt their quality was there. Not only that, they had some great food. I had a wrap(forgot which one) and it was good and filling. Staff was super friendly and service was fast.

JUICEREVIEWONLY What the hell is wrong with the world when you spend $ 8 on a medium sized-borderline SMALLJUICE, a liquid juice? It better magically erase my wrinkles and turn me into a supermodel. :) :) Clean place. Super friendly and smiley staff, but hot damn, $ 8 for a juice. I could buy 16 Jack N the Box tacos for that. :) hahaha. Sweet burn juice –get yours for $ 8.

Yum! Juices here are freshly made and the staff is super friendly(talked to me for 5 minutes to help me figure out exactly what I wanted). Did go around 11 on a Tuesday, so can’t vouch for how crowded it might be otherwise

I like this place. It is always clean and happy, never too crowded, the people are nice, and you’re in and out quickly. It’s definitely more of a «lunch» place, but it is still open for dinner. From the outside it might seem like this is one of those healthy cafes where you pay $ 25 for iceberg lettuce and leave hungry. This is not the case. I’ve had really yummy wraps here: Melodie‘s Avocado, Kale and Corn Salad + chicken(7.95) Jon‘s Chicken, Egg and Spinach Salad(7.95) The wraps are huge. And delicious. One time I could only finish half of one, and saved the other half for lunch the next day. And I eat A LOT. You leave feeling better about yourself. You can also turn these wraps into soups or salads — I would not turn them into soups, the soup base is extremely bland. They also have very good smoothies. The Orange Ginger juice(4.95) is good, I would pass on the Field of Greens(4.95). Tip: Get a stamp card! Once you hit 10 visits you get a free item!

Trying to be healthy, I stopped into Evolution Fresh. They have beverages– I knew that! But now they have real food! I’m talking vegetarian and/or non-veggie dishes that are hot or cold; you have that option. I had a buckwheat noodle dish in hot broth. I’m having a snack so I have a half portion with the extra dollar for the broth. It’s healthy-good It’s low sodium-good It’s hot or warm — good Taste could be better(which is why it’s 3 stars). But I’m eating veggies which is really good because eating healthy is always a challenge.

Love their fruit smoothies! Smooth and not chunky, refreshing, fresh, and delicious. I’m not a vegetable person, but sometimes I try to incorporate carrots in my juices, which isn’t my favorite either, but somehow they make theirs taste amazing– I believe it’s called Smooth Carrot? Also love their mango smoothie: D. I can tell they use high quality ingredients simply from the way their juice feels and tastes. They’re rather filling for me, so occasionally I have one as a meal replacement. Yay for healthiness! Service is on and off, depending on who’s there and time of day I guess, but for the most part I’ve had a good experience with that. They’re just so expensive though! Over $ 8 for a standard size smoothie: O. I’m sure there’s a good explanation why that is, but it definitely hinders me from dropping in more than I’d like to. Oh well, at least they’re good!

I really like their juices and smoothies(not that there’s anything special about them), just that in comparison to the food that they serve, the juices are pretty tasty. The food is just whatever… if it wasn’t for the GiltCity promo, I would never order any of the food from here… I’ve tried a few of their bowls– the kale salad, the grilled cheese and soup, the mediterranean bowl… all were just mediocre, and the ingredients never tasted all that fresh. I also feel like they skimp on the portion size(not sure if it’s because I’m using a voucher). Either way, dislike. Service has been inconsistent… ease of parking is also kinda meh. So basically, if I had to pay full price, I’d only come back for their juices, and only if I was already in the neighborhood.

Everyone wants a piece of the healthy lifestyle, just so long as it’s easy to maintain with minimal effort. Well let me tell you, no, it’s not so easy, but yes it can be done. I’ve went through multiple diets, lifestyles, mindsets, and even workout regimens, all to the point to where I took it to the max and was not able to truly enjoy life anymore. Nowadays, health is of course priority, but happiness is what takes precedence. Juicing makes me happy! Well whatta ya know. I find it easy to squeeze in my fruits and veggies on a busy schedule with juices here at Evolution. All juices are cold pressed and most all vitamins and enzymes are intact. This kind of place makes life totally easy. When I don’t have time to juice or become completely particular about what I put into my body, this place is a no brainer. I highly recommend this place. Drinks, smoothies, and food come out quickly! No pain, no gain, but in this case; No fuss, no hunger pang disgust. Be well and happy, my friends!

Highlights — Love their concept and appreciate the combos that they offer. — Nice shop with a sufficient amount of seating and they even have a refrigerated section carrying bottles of their fresh juices. Everything was neat and clean. — Kevin’s Quinoa Bowl: flavored well, filling, but it was alright at most. hint of spicy curry type sauce with fresh kale, butternut squash, feta, tomatoes, and beans. Improvements — 8oz coconut zen juice: coconut, pineapple, and cucumber. They ran out of pineapple so I decided to add extra coconut juice, should have thought about that. I was not a fan of the taste, you know that sour coconut aftertaste? — Pricey and portion size was small. Tips — One time spot for me to say that I have tried it, but I don’t think it’s worth my money and going out of my way to come here.

Today circumstance prompted us to try this little-known Starbucks test laboratory. They have coffee if you insist, and salads and sandwiches, but their forte is cold whipped drinks. We pondered the breakfast drinks, and settled on a couple of strawberry-mint smoothies, at $ 7.95 for about a 16-oz. plastic cup. We sat and relaxed in the sunshine, and talked about the price of fruit and how Starbucks influences inflation. When we had finished, we still wanted more. Is that a good thing? A lot of the food is prominently labeled organic, and looking around, we noticed the customers were thin and healthy, like this was an after-yoga-class pick-me-up store. They graciously accepted my Starbucks card for payment, too.

On a Sunday morning about a month ago, I accidentally walked by this place thinking this was just another corner juice bar. I was on the hunt for breakfast but found the eateries in the neighborhood were already packed. Now I couldn’t put my finger on it, but this place felt a little too… polished? I didn’t feel the hippie-dippy vibe I was expected when I entered the place. Then someone told me this is owned by Starbucks. Yeah, that makes sense. I was wondering why things looked so organized and the staff looked somewhat confused. Well, I think it had only been open a day when I was there, so I have to cut them some slack for opening week jitters. I stayed and had one of their juices on tap, the Organic Apple for $ 4.45(see photo). $ 4.45 really? Yes, $ 4.45. It’s part of the Starbucks empire, for Peet’s sake. It certainly tasted fresh, but it was indeed gone in a matter of minutes. For my actual breakfast, I ordered the Wild Rice Scramble for the surprisingly low cost of $ 4.95, and at a butt-reducing 160 calories. 160 calories really? Yes, 160 calories. And no wonder, the bowl was on the small side with bits of scrambled egg, brown wild rice, mushrooms, wilted spinach and roasted red peppers mixed in a tamari sauce(see photo). It was pretty good but all not that satisfying if you are looking for a hearty breakfast. But for a quick pick-me-up, it could do — especially for the anorexics of Pac Heights. FOOD — 3 stars… pretty good breakfast bowl but kinda small portions, pricey juices AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… that unmistakable air of Starbucks packaging SERVICE — 2.5 stars… a bit jittery but give them time TOTAL — 3 stars… not bad, concept is fine but execution still needs more work

Evolution Fresh is a new chain of juice shops from Starbucks, as they continue to diversify their business(cf. La Boulange) with healthier alternatives. The Fillmore shop opened this weekend, and they’ve done an admirable job of rebuilding what was a small and cramped-feeling storefront. The space is open and light, and has a much more logical flow than it did before. There are two tables for sitting, along with some bars along the windows. As for the juice, I was pretty disappointed. First, the juices are all served from taps behind the counter, which means they’re pre-juiced. The whole point of drinking fresh juice(as I understand it) is that you’re getting the delicate micronutrients just out of their natural state(in the plant), so pre-juicing them and serving them an hour or two later seems like a miss. Second, they’re bloody expensive. I ordered an 8 oz. Vital Greens, and it cost $ 4.95. I know vegetables aren’t cheap, but if Starbucks wants to win this market, they’re going to need to lower the prices. Lastly, the juice didn’t taste all that great. Maybe it was because of the pre-juicing, or maybe they haven’t perfected the recipes yet, but Unilocal’s 2-star«Meh» seems to describe it about right. The staff seems nice and helpful, and the space is great. Hope they continue to improve the product and lower the prices.
