The class exceeded expectations. We had a party size of 5, so private lesson. Kyoko taught us the basics to build a solid foundation for authentic Japanese cooking. I loved the hands on aspect, and enjoying the meal afterwards with her. We brought 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of sake for a fun ladies afternoon while we cooked and with our meal. Our menu: Nagaimo yam and egg clear soup Grilled turnip & fried tofu Octopus, turnip, mixing salad Deep fried fish ball Clay pot turnip leaf rice And bonus… Kyoko made a delicious green tea roll cake for dessert!!! For $ 65, I was beyond impressed… best class ever and will definitely be returning every few months. Parking is tough in the area, so plan ahead.

6-stars! Had an excellent experience with Kyoko making the famed miso black cod dish and it tasted better than the izakaya! We also learned how to make the ever-important dashi from scracth(she made it seem easy, but I think I’ll need more practice), Japanese pickets(yum) and nagaimo yam pancake, which was devouringly good. It was a small, intimate group and this combined with a bottle of sake made for an enlightened evening! More classes please!
