Bahn Mi was either too much bread or too little meat. the ends were tasteless. Not enough pâté for the combination one. A TONOF cilantro. Normally I like cilantro but this is TOOMUCH. Sugarcane juice is good. I don’t know how fresh it is though, because when I see fresh sugar cane juice, I think of the machine and a lot of sugarcane around like the ones in Sac and San Jose. But this is a good 5 min away alternative on a hot day. I haven’t tried anything else. Maybe I’ll be back, maybe I wont. I’ll probably come back for the sugarcane juice because I dont see other places around here have it so maybe i’ll try other things that they have to offer.

If your vacant between class at CCSF and is and wants to get a good and affordable meal, this is the place to go. The inside is very clean and the food taste really good. I had their Combination Sandwich and BBQ pork and two separate occasion. Their Combination Sandwich was $ 3.75. $ 4 total with tax. I forgot how much was the BBQ as it was a while since i went here. It would probably be around $ 7. I was on the rush and had 15 minutes before class so i was munching on my sandwich while walking.

Horrible customer service. Came here because I didn’t wanna drive all the way to Irving. They placed an incorrect order, when the food was brought to me I told them it was wrong and they showed me the receipt saying nothing was wrong. I told them I did not ask for that order, and know for a fact since I order the same Phở Tai whenever I go to a phở restaurant. They refused to fix my order and said there was nothing they could do. Plus on another occasion a friend of mine got food poisoning there and was out for a week.

This place makes the best Vietnamese sandwiches which is absolutely delicious. My first time coming in here today and many of their menu items are very appropriately priced(under $ 10) making it a very affordable lunch for everyone. It fits college students well since it is close to the City College of San Francisco Main Campus(Ocean Campus).

Great friendly service, same good sandwiches from the other Pha Ha Tien next to 24 hour fitness on Ocean. Ordered the. Fancy Pork Patty(4⁄5) BBQ Pork(5⁄5) Both sandwiches were toasted perfectly. Easily comparable to Siagon Sandwiches. Even tho their other location is closer drive, I wanted to see how the new restaurant was doing. The new location caters to the starving students at City College. Prices are very reasonable, and it is very warming and clean inside. A nice place to stop by on a cold San Francisco foggy day and grab a bowl of Phở! I will be back! –SFCheapGrub

You walk into this Vietnamese restaurant and it’s run by Chinese people. Typical. No problem, other Chinese –run Vietnamese places are good so I thought I’d give this place a try. The menu had some Chinese dishes though like wonton noodle soup and was missing some classic Vietnamese dishes like Beef Phở. Weird. I’ve tried some sandwiches, rice plates, and noodle soup there. Everything is sub-par but this place being one of the few decent places near CCSF to eat, I’m left with no choice. Let me start with the sandwichs. Pretty decent but $ 4 is a little pricey, not to mention their inconsistency. Sometimes there are jalapenios in the sandwiches and sometimes there aren’t. I need that spice homie! Next up is the rice plate. Meh. If you like the sweet sauce that usually comes with Vietnamese rice places then I guess it’s good. But without it, theres no flavor. Noodle soup aka Phở. Well let me tell you this isn’t phở brother. I don’t know what it is but it’s really watered down. Any other paces phở is better than this one. I’ve also had many mistakes made in my orders like forgetting ingredients or giving me the wrong order. Therefore, 2 stars for sub-par food and sub-par service.

I usually stop by here to grab a bite to eat when I have my lunch break from class. You walk up and order what you want pay for your meal then walk back to your table and wait. The bahn mi sandwiches are alrite, but they skimp on the meat. I also overheard the owner yelling at the lady«Why did you give him so much meat» and I see him scoop meat out of a heating bowl before he microwaves it. There were plenty of vegtables though and he gave a lot of cilantro. The one thing that bugged me was that he threw the napkins in the sandwich basket and they were soaked with grease/mayo. Overall if you have the time I would go to their main restaurant to eat at instead if you want to get noodle soups.

I can eat here for three days straight and not get tired. The service is great, the location is close, and the food is not only delicious by at a great price. Every time my boyfriend and friends come here to eat, right when we sit down, they always bring us glasses of water, even when we don’t ask. Like seriously, I love this place; most places around the area, you HAVE to ask, but here, they give it to you anyways. I’ve gone here so many times, but I haven’t even tried the Phở(I really should one of these days…) because I’m too fixated on their rice place and dry noodles. Sigh, maybe one day XD Big plus: they have a bathroom and it’s CLEAN! I always love places with bathrooms, but SUPER love places that have CLEAN bathrooms. I cannot stress that enough. You’d literally have to see my face, which normally looks like this when I first find out:(O__O)! LOL!

I don’t like it that these people(and so many other places on Ocean Ave for that matter) shut down when the CCSF semester is over and only re-open when the new semester begins. Don’t they realize that maybe people who live and work in the area may want to come there to eat?

The«Hut» is a cheap, no frills, quick service restaurant with an appealing menu: Vietnamese noodle soup, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, steamed rice rolls, 10 kinds of banh mi, drinks(fresh hot soy milk!), che(Vietnamese desserts), and a steam table with about 10 cooked dishes($ 6.75 for a 1 item combo). The décor is simple with green walls, small tables, and a shrine. * Meatball banh mi($ 3.75): warm, loose pork meatballs with pickled sweet carrots, plenty of cilantro, jalapeño and one cucumber spear tucked into a soft, slightly crunchy roll with a dab of mayo. The bread was quite good and the meatballs were heavily seasoned. A decent sandwich but it was missing something — it needed more veggies(daikon, jalapenos). The carrots weren’t that crunchy. On the menu it said the sandwiches come with pâté but I didn’t notice any? Maybe it was a very thin smear. Cash only

Went here for the grand reopening this week. This is a great place to grab some good food quick, especially now that there are 2 or 3 item plate combos along with their sandwiches and other regular menu items. I had the 2 item combo with curry chicken, the pork with eggs along with rice. Both were great tasting and highly recommended. The service was fast, the owner was happy to answer questions I had and the place was very clean. I will definitely be back to try all of the other dishes.

This is a great place when you need a quick fix. The fact that this is right around the corner is what I’ll miss about the house I’m moving out of. What more is there to say? It’s decent Vietnamese food that is great for take-out. Someone said there’s no phở, but they’re wrong. There IS phở, but it’s only chicken phở. I love banh mi, so I mostly get that when I’m here. This still doesn’t beat what’s back home, but I love it anyway.

I was glad to see that there was now a Vietnamese restaurant around City because it gives hungry students more places to choose from instead of just Chinese or American food. The sandwich I had was not bad(BBQ chicken). They toasted the bread so it was warm when I ate it(some places don’t do that so it’s kind of cold) and the price was not bad. However, the employee working there thought I didn’t pay for my meal. I guess he forgot I already paid BEFORE I even got my sandwich. What a bad way to start off a new business.

The service was ok, but the food wasn’t up to par with other Vietnamese restaurants. Ordered a Charbroiled beef plate, the beef came out looking like it was boiled in hot water and lightly fried on each side. And what was worse was that it was VERY bland. They didn’t even bother separating the lettuce and left it as it would be if you cut it in quarters. The sandwiches are ok, but still lacking. Overall i wouldn’t come here again, especially when the price is just about the same as any other Vietnamese place.

3.5 Stars + Convenient + Quick Service + Clean — Cash Only — Small Menu This is a relatively new café that opened up near CCSF not too long ago. Food here is pretty decent and the service is quick and efficient. Expect to be in and out within 10 minutes if ordering take out. My friend Phoebe and I come here during our lunch break at least once a week. So far we’ve tried their BBQ Pork and Combination Meat Banh Mis, Wonton Soup , Chicken Curry , and other Rice Plates . The BBQ Pork Banh Mi is quite tasty. The pork is marinated quite well, and they give you lots of carrots too! The bread isn’t hard so that’s a plus. I would definitely order this again. The Chicken Curry on the other hand is a hit or miss. Sometimes its creamy, and at other times it tastes hella watered down. Different chefs maybe? I dunno o-o Overall, I like this place for its convenience. It’s a bit pricier than other Vietnamese restaurants, but hey~ if you’re lazy and don’t want to walk down a few more blocks to the other Vietnamese restaurant, this is the place to be.

OK so last night I was hungry and was planning on stopping by this burger joint next to city college but it looked like they might take too long so I opted for this place around the corner since I had 10 minutes left till start of class. The place looks fairly new and was pretty clean. The place has a sign in the window that says phở but there was no phở on the menu. Either way I was here to try the banh mi. I got the combination pork that included pâté and also jalapenos. It was pretty good but I still prefer Saigon sandwich on larkin. Overall the place is pretty clean, quick service and perfect location so when you need a quick bite before class you can jump out of muni and stop right in.

Okay, I was excited that this location was finally being occupied by a business once again. If you live around the ‘hood, you would know this location has seen many businesses come and fail. I was even more excited when I found out that it would be serving Vietnamese cuisine in a fast food type setting! What I didn’t know was that this place is run by the other Vietnamese restaurant on Ocean Ave., Phở Ha TIen(as the take-out menu advertises). Um, not a good sign. I thought I would come here a few times before I give my take on it. My conclusion? This place blows. The food is NOT good! And now that I’ve gone enough times to know what they really give you, the prices are a complete rip-off for what you get! Rice plates, $ 6.50 — $ 7.70: too-salty pieces of meat on top of some steamed rice. If they even remember, you’d be lucky to get a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato on the side. Usually dishes like these at full service restaurants come with a lot more, but for the same price — shrimp cake, imperial rolls, or a fried egg. And the«curry chicken» was the worst. It wasn’t actually curry, it was more of a soup with curry powder thrown in with pieces of chicken and potato. I would’ve been better off eating some jerky. I was so disappointed with the rice plates that I didn’t even bother with the vermicelli. The spring rolls, sandwiches, and drinks are okay. But these are simple items that I expect even the worst places to get right. If you’re a hungry CCSF student, just eat at the cafeteria. Cheap and delicious. If you live near by, the other restaurants that line Ocean have much more to offer than this place.

Funny b/c this place carries no phở but is still a Vietnamese restaurant! Quick service and the place is clean. A bit pricier than other places but is in a convenient area near the Bart and Muni lines and of course CCSF and SFSU. Cool b/c they also carry some Asian items like chips and snacks and the facility is well kept. They also do planning and substitutions for their dishes b/c I’m a vegetarian who has nut allergies and the guy was able to help build my dish!

A great addition to the City College option for food. I highly recommend this place even though the owner is the same as the other Vietnamese restaurant down the street next to the 24 Hour Fitness. But best of all is the price is right. Not too much, but just right. Any student can get away paying $ 8-$ 10 at this place. And their Tapioca is a lot fresher and better than Quickly’s. If this place does well, I am sure they will add more. Right now the place is a bit small but as students on the go, this is a nice place to stop and grab your food before the next class. Not too far, right across the street from the bus circle and in front of the K-T Line and 29 Bus Stop. Can’t wait for the new semester to start. Enjoy!
