Pizza arrived cold and late. Reheated and just tasted ok, like day old pizza that wasn’t amazing to begin with. I think its supposed to be New York style thin crust, but small slice, skimpy on cheese and sauce, Irving Special tasted like Costco pizza. Wouldn’t order again.

Was there around 2pm today. Ordered a slice and a coke. The guy(he had his hair in a bun who was behind thecounter insisted on keep playing MAHJONG to wait on me. When he did give me the sliceI asked for a napkin and fork/knife. Again without stopping the game he pointed to the tables behind me for the napkins and then to wall table to get the fork/knife. He must be related to the owner, because his attitude is so bad he cannot be fired. BTW; The pizza was very good, but I would not recommend this place because of his atttitude

Tried Irving Pizza a few times and enjoyed the food, but agree with complaints about customer service. I tried to call in to place an order and they had the phone off the hook? Ummm do you even want business? lol. Also — the cashier gentleman acts like I am an inconvenience to him and his friends playing games whenever I am in there. I guess they likely really don’t care because they’ll still get business no matter what, but kind of annoying to deal with lack of respect for customers.

Damn good green special pizza and impressive Greek salad. But it’s getting 4 stars instead of 5 because there was an issue ordering through Eat24. Everyone makes mistakes and the real food was actually delicious — this is just a forewarning about Eat24. It went a little like this: I ordered a large *green* special pizza(pesto sauce, artichoke hearts, fresh garlic etc) with tomatoes and spinach on top, along with a Greek salad. About 45min later(we live near the zoo) we got the salad and a large pizza with red sauce, cheese, tomatoes and spinach delivered instead. I’m glad I waited a day to write a review because I was super hungry and irritated at the sight of my plain $ 32 pizza. I called them right away. They asked if we wanted another one, but of course we couldn’t wait another 45min to eat so we kept the pizza. They also told us to go through Eat24 for a discount. After I ate, I could think clearer and contacted Eat24. They were able to get a $ 10 discount on our next order. We used the discount to order a small green special pizza and happily ate it too. That pizza took close to an hour to get here and was a little cold. I’m mostly shocked they were able to let that mistake slip through…$ 32 for a pizza that’s basically cheesy tomatoes is icky, and it’s ridiculous to think we paid more for the extra(in this case, the only) toppings.

When you’re back from the club/bar, and you got the drunkchies, this place is bomb AF… They deliver with a 25 dollar minimum, and you get your food within the hour. I ended up getting a large pizza with three toppings of my choice and chicken wings. That’s a combo that fills the 25 dollar minimum. The pizza was really good, but the chicken wings were epic! Crispy and flavorful. So good after drinking, LOL.

Best pizza in the sunset! Great thick crust and they have a great variety of toppings. My favorite neighborhood pizza spot

I’ll come in and have a slice since they are always«what you see is what you get». Big and satisfying. Great beers on tap. Delivery is not the same. Like a totally different beast. The untraditional salad with Caesar dressing looks good but I’m not into the dressing one bit. It’s like ranch dressing with soy sauce to brown it up. Time to get some dressing from jerry next door.

Love the pizza, but why does this one cashier(short Latino guy who thinks he’s too cool) always give customers the stink eye, even regulars? This asshole turns to his right to laugh and smile with his friends, then immediately turns back to face the customers with an unpleasant scowl. It’s starting to put me off coming here. The owner can read the reviews here. So many complaints about this guy and how rude he is. You know who he is, you don’t need to ask what night it was. Tell him to start being friendly and respectful to your customers.

AMAZING fucking pizza. Best ZA in the sunset, hands down. The staff is really nice and the service is quick too. My favorite part about the place is that you can get it by the slice. They will definitely get my business in the future.

Love this place. Always open super late with a line out the door normally. Pizza by slice. Fast fresh… Delicious. Beers on tap as well as bottles The menu goes far beyond just pizza. Burgers/salads etc. they also have a couple televisions so a great place to catch sporting events. Only street parking.

Yeah, I like it — ok? When I’m super cool and doing laundry on a Friday and feeling like being particularly productive, I’ll order a slice or a chicken parm sandwich for pick-up, and it makes my night. It also smells like pizza walking by in the morning on the way to work when the doors are open. That’s nice.

quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever tasted. no flavor at all the crust is a joke — this place used to be good, but the last 2 times I ordered from this dump are my last! No stars as this crap ended up in the garbage — not even edible!

I ordered 2 slices of pizza eating in for $ 4 each. Register rung up $ 9.50 instead of $ 8.70. Please tell me how taxes for $ 8 worth of pizza comes out to $ 9.50, it doesn’t. Shops like these take advantage of people who just don’t pay attention to the prices and just hands them cash/credit. I corrected the cashier(younger hispanic guy) and he gave me the stink eye and aggressively yanked my credit card out of my hand. After i had paid, i know he was trash talking with his colleague about this transaction. Watch out for these dishonest and greedy cashiers. *Had to watch my pizza come out to ensure no foreign toppings was added“ They were going to take advantage of me over .80cents. It’s not about the 80 cents, it’s about running a company with integrity. Obviously, this one does not.

We ordered over the phone and want pizza be delivered. They were in time. Pizza was not fresh. It looks like they just added the topics I wanted over precooked pizza. Smell is weird. $ 26($ 30 w tips) for mid size pizza this quality is a lot. Hope it was a single case happened and they will find a nicer way to use previously refused/undelivered pizzas.

So I decided to give them another chance because everyone makes mistakes, right? Last weekend I ordered another slice with ranch instead of tomato sauce and it was delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered again tonight and once again it was a big mess of ranch on top of a slice of cheese pizza. I immediately called back to see if I could get them to send a replacement slice because I was super hungry. A woman answered and put a man on the phone who basically screamed at me that that’s how they always«substitute» ranch and that I «couldn’t possibly have ever had it any other way.» I was also told that it wasn’t an option to «substitute» a different sauce on a slice via Gruhub, despite the fact that we did it with the slice of pesto we ordered and have successfully done it with ranch many times before. There’s nothing like being treated like a complete idiot and told you’re a liar. I called back a few minutes later to see if we could get a refund. I asked to speak with the owner(per his kind comment on my last post) and the man told me that he was the owner. I said, «so you’re Awadalla?» He then backtracked and said, «no. I’m the owner until Monday.» Okay? Is that how it works? Owner until Monday? He then proceeded to continue screaming at me about how there was no way that I could have ever ordered a slice of pizza with ranch substituted. He also refused to send or refund another item that was completely left out of the order that we paid for. Finally, he hung up on me. Well, Irving Pizza, you have officially ruined my Friday night. Besides having technically stolen from us because you refused to bring or refund a missing item, your«owner until Monday» was condescending to the point where he actually drove me to tears. He should not be working with people if he is set off in an aggressive rage over one customer complaint. Is that the type of management you hire? Plenty of other great places in the neighborhood that will give you what you order and pay for without the horrible attitude.

This place is amazing for being open in those critical hours of 4th meal. They have a wide variety of options – not just pizza – but I recommend the combo pizza. It strikes a good balance between veggies(peppers, olives, onions) and meat(salami, pepperoni, ham, sausage). $ 21 for 12″ isn’t cheap but it’s satisfying.

At first I was really excited to see a NYC style pizzeria so close to my home, but for pizza and other munchies, I’ve had better. In full transparency, I worked in a NY pizzeria for a few years where we made the dough everyday and the ingredients were mostly organic, so there’s little that stacks up to my standards. My complaint with Irving’s is that the flour crust is too thick without adding much flavor, and the toppings lack that burst of taste you would get with quality ingredients. A lot of improvement could be seen if they made the switch to oil dough. At the very least they shouldn’t market themselves as NYC style pizza — it’s far from it. Their subs and beer selection are pretty good though. When I was eating bread, I was a big fan of the Philly sub. Late at night on the weekends all of the bros who’ve been bulking up their beer muscles at Underdogs show up and, like clockwork, fights break out. I wish the business owners would do more to help here, whether that’s not allowing people to group outside or a «if you buy something you have to clear the area» type of rule. There’s actually a small, tight-knit community that lives here, but every week we have to listen to drunks who don’t live here stomp around our backyards and gripe over«you bumped my girlfriend» or «you mad bro?!» ridiculousness. Overall, it’s a good place to get late night drunchy foods or grab a quick sub if you can avoid the lines and the ridiculousness. Pizza is meh.

As a young grasshopper, one of my life’s goal was to order a personal pizza from Irving Pizza and enjoy it with my copy of Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire. A whole pizza all to myself as I flip through the best series of all time. Ah. That’s the life :) Fast forward 14 years and a decelerated metabolism later, I walked by Irving Pizza on a weekday near midnight. I was only looking for a slice, as my dreams of a personal pizza have long been buried to the back of my mind by an empty wallet and a humble diet. The Giants were in their 13th inning battle with the Dodgers. Several of the other patrons looked hopefully upon the television, with remnants of their finished slices dispersed over the tables. I ordered a Combo Slice for $ 4.25. The cashier slid my slice into the oven. I signed the receipt to my credit card. The Giants got a base hit. I sat down with my slice and sprinkled it with too much and not enough Parmesan. The cheese of my pizza was still too solid, it could’ve used a few more minutes in the oven. The crust on my slice was also a bit stale, but warm enough. Perhaps my preferences have been spoiled through the years. Sprinkles of applause and cheers filled the restaurant. The Giants baserunner had made it to the home plate. It was a cheerful moment, but not one laden with shouts and chest bumps from out of town hipsters. Just a sort of quiet happiness shared by several die-hard locals. That’s always something to appreciate about Irving Pizza. A true neighborhood pizzeria catered to wanderers of Irving street. On game nights, friends and families of the neighborhood gather around a pie in support of their home team. The dream of my personal pizza started to reemerge. Harry Potter has already defeated Voldemort, but my passion for pizza and reading is still very much alive. The open zipper of my book bag revealed a copy of A Song of Ice and Fire. More applauses. I looked up to see that the Giants have won. Perhaps it’s a sign for me to fulfill my dream of a personal pizza with the adventures of Tyrion Lannister :)
