eh — ok for pizza. Wouldn’t order it outside of getting home at 1am and really wanting some after bar food.

We walked by looked in and decided to go to the cupcake store Kara’s first to pick up dessert, then decided not to get anything and walk down to the Palace of the Arts to take some night photos. Walked back up to the Original Buffalo Wings and after no service for 10 minutes, got up left and walked over to Irving’s pizza. We have had some really good pizza and I have to say this is some gooood pizza. If I could tell the world I would…(that’s kinda what I’m doing isn’t it haha). Their poppers and cheese sticks are really good too. But the kicker was the Philly cheese steak, we had cheese steaks and pizza in Philly at one of the top rate places in Philly and Irving’s is right up there. stop by for great service, great food and great guys. They were super friendly and funny too. When we go back to San Fran we will definitely be going back!

I think this place is someone’s tax right off!!! Bad pizza, people really like this place? I guess if you have more money that you need, you’ll think any place off of Chestnut street is good or your drunk! I won’t be back… and you can have Chestnut street… to much money for everything and parking!

So I came here once in a drunken stupor and the only thing I could recall was the delicious magical pizza from the place that sold gyros. After that I thought about this place often and finally decided to come back sober to retest my theory. I was delightful surprised to find it was as spectacular as I remembered, the crust was thin there was lots of cheese and the tomato sauce was light, but the best part was how crisp the pepperoni was. I will be back

Extra stars for being awesome. My baby mama’s baby daddy loved the pizza here so we found something to agree on. They kept us waiting for quite some time. I wasn’t worried about it cuz it was FLEETWEEK and we were in the middle of the Marina trying to see the Blue Angels(…well I was scoping out the marines but whateva). I believe they just automatically upgraded our Large to an XL since they felt bad. We weren’t even in the mood to complain! But we did have 2 hungry kids with us, so good looking out!

There is nothing better than sitting curbside and gouging on a cheesy slice of Irving’s when you’re drunk and hungry… in the Marina, of course. There is way better pizza elsewhere in the city. Watch for passive-aggressive drunks, since SF doesn’t go all the way aggressive, lol. I don’t know what this place tastes like sober. Not sure if I want to either.

4 Stars for Irving Pizza? Really? I’m sure if I ever ate here sober my review rating would change. Ok, ok. So if you’re looking for a good slice of pie go to Pizzeria Delfina. BUT, if you’re drunk and looking to avoid a hangover, I guarantee you there is NOBETTERPLACE in the Marina! They’re open until 3a on Friday and Saturday nights, which makes me a very, very happy drunk girl. Greasy, delightful, and always an entertaining establishment at 2:30a, Irving Pizza is a drunk standby at this particular Marina-ites apartment! My college girlfriends are visiting this upcoming weekend– something tells me the 8 of us will be back!(How on earth will we all fit in that small place? It is close to home and open really late. This helps when your coming back from a pub crawl or people are randomly hungry and your almost home. Yes there is more food options on Fillmore but in SF sometimes you don’t want to back track. The place is small, dive-ish, simple menu and decorations. Its pretty cheap and quick.

A real funky, starred out restauraunt. Everyone from Robin Williams to Arnold Schwarzenegger can be found on the wall. Their chicken pesto slice is well worth it, and it’s huge.

Oh my goodness, what an awful place that’s totally out of place in the Marina. To be upfront and honest, I didn’t eat pizza here-I had their gyros sandwich because their pizza looked like it had coagulated cheese and dried up veggies. And to be fair, that should have been my first clue but I was so hungry and blinded by exhaustion and a strong wind in the streets, that I gave in. I ordered from the nice man behind the counter and was told to come back in 15 minutes. That gave me just enough time to run to the bank and get a cupcake for later. When I got back to the cramped shop, he had my lunch waiting for me in a brown sack and passed it off to me. I might take a moment here to explain that I’m originally from a city that enjoys eating. We Chicagoans especially love a good gyros on a spit with a familiar Kronos sign proudly displayed and homemade pitas with tangy creamy tzatziki sauce and fresh cut red onions, ripe hot house tomatoes and did I mention lamb so tender in the center of each juicy skillfully cut strip but also delightfully crispy at the edges.(And yes that was a hell of a run on sentence but I’m trying to make a point here.) That being said, I’m not expecting to stumble upon some divine gateway to Helenic ambrosia but I certainly wasn’t expecting something totaling 4 oz. in total weight. I’ve made a living examining food oz. by oz. and I could sadly feel a pathetic, hard and microwaved excuse for an $ 8 lunch. Marina or no Marina, hard pita bread, rubbery squares of meat and yogurt-not tzatziki. I ended up throwing away the sandwich even though I was in some deep dark pits of hunger and ended up eating the cupcake for lunch instead. Truly a disappointing lunch from a mediocre establishment.

Meh. That pretty much sums it up. The boyfriend and I were wandering around and looking for a cheap spot for lunch after the Exploratorium. After sadly turning away from many tasty sounding spots(we were really short on cash that day), we settled on Irving Pizza since it was the cheapest. You get what you pay for. Normally I get pepperoni, but the slices they had out looked like they’d been sitting there all day. Each circle of meat was turned up on the sides, shriveled and curling over itself. I opted for a slice of cheese instead, and they reheated it since it was probably sitting out all day as well. When I started eating it, it was rubbery and gross. I couldn’t even finish the slice.

3.5 stars, 4 stars because its cheap and tad better than average. $ 3 something for combo slice $ 2.75 for cheese. Preface Five felons went on a road trip to SF from«the OC». With no allies to click up with… they relied on their dandy ol’ Unilocal app. With this app they wondered through the dark streets of SF… The night was ending when 5 losers had the munchies. They were so drunk and high, they could of vomited of comet(high on life, not tetrahydrocannabinol). As the crew walked in… one side had a bum waiting for his food and the other, a drunk couple making sweet love… the world will never know if his saugage ever touched her olive. and yet this young world will never know if she came over his place for another slice. and… thats all this narrator has. The service was good, but not great. They had two German boys and a Mexican migrant worker working there. The service was slow and could of been quicker, if they werent so focus on their European Happy Hardcore techno that was playing in the background. The O.G. double triple gangster, Andrew T. then ordered a slice of the combo pizza… which he HAD to share with his minion, Khoi D. And yes, the pizza was big enough to slice in half. They easily ate it in minutes as if it was a huge monstrous cunté(french slimy oyster that men can eat all day). After that was done, they ordered another combo pizza… then another cheese only pizza. That was Andrews first time trying a cheese only pizza. He would always scream to the world, «Why the Frenchmen would anyone ever waste their money on a cheese only pizza». But ever since he layed his teethes on that cheese pizza. it was love at first sight. It was like the first time he beat his mother… passionate, confused… satisfied. Andrew T. agreed that the pizza was a tad better than average, but nothing worth killing over. He digged the thin crust, but wished it was thinner and crispier. He noted the cheese was perfectly gooey and tasted like victory… victory, like the time he won back his turf at the pokemon convention. After the murderers had their meal… Andrew T. hoped onto his minions back and piggy backed into the dark lonely streets of San Francisco. Smell you later

I’m a little confused about the size of the slices here because the first time I went my slices were the size of my head and the next time they went they were half of that. That aside, Irving Pizza offers huge slices for really cheap(especially in the Marina where everything is overpriced). I’ve been here a number of times and the pizzas are always solid. It’s only $ 3.25 for a slice of pepperoni and $ 2.75 for a slice of cheese. It usually only takes two slices before I’m stuffed off these size pizzas and you can get lunch for around five bucks. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the Marina or Sunset and you’re hungry and looking for a bite to eat for cheap.

Not amazingly memorable but amazingly convenient. I want to give this place 4 stars but I really can’t because I was a wee bit intoxicated when I ate here. So, I am not sure whether it was truly the BOMB or whether my judgement was clouded. I will write my review anyway and you can decide for yourself! :P Pizza was thin crust and crispy. I like that. Not greasy which is a good thing when you’ve had some alcohol. This is a walk up counter and pizza by the slice place. I had the mushroom and sausage. My friend had the pesto chicken. Definitely a good place to grab a quick bite when bar hopping around the Marina. The location is a plus, right by The Republic and around the corner from The Tipsy Pig, and Monagahan’s. We were in and out of this place mostly because there is nowhere to sit. Like I said, get it, eat it, be on your way. Perfect food on the GO.

Nice little hole in the wall location that served my mid day snacking needs. Good bread, good sauce, good cheese. Nothing amazing. Crust was a little thick. But they did have a TV with the game on, and free wi fi to type this review! Looks like a small SF chain as I saw this was only 1 of 3 or 4 spots.

I love this place, tucked into a tiny storefront just off Chestnut. It’s one of the best deals in town — a single slice of delicious pizza is $ 3 — and even better than that, they have a special on Sundays and Tuesdays where you get two slices of pizza and a beer for $ 4.99 — how can you beat that deal? So, if you’re looking for a quick slice of excellent pizza at a reasonable price, it’s hard to do better than Irving Pizza in the Marina District.

I just went here for the first time since it was changed from Blue Moon Pizza(something like 4 yrs ago — yeah it’s been a long time). I live on the other side of the Golden Gate, so Blue Moon used to be where I would get a slice before heading home. The man at the counter was very nice, even giving me his pen that has personal significance to me. Yes they DO have Pizza by the slice and it is just as good as it always was. They have a number of other items on their menu as well. I’ll be curious to try them out next time I decide to get some«on my way home» food. I’m one of those people who dislike the city, all the traffic, little parking, etc. This place is easy to find, there is usually street parking near by and the food is consistent. I LOVE that it exists.

I was probably not in the right mind to judge this place since when I came here it was after closing time. The stand is really small and people are pretty understanding about the post bar close zombie shuffle but it was still tough to get in. The slices were pretty good in my hazy recollection and fairly cheap. I think $ 3-I did not pay but it was my pretty host who knew the counter guy and flirted with him whenever she came in. I had the combination slice which again, was a perfect post drinking food-reminded me of a New York slice. Not quite a two but not enough data in my beer addled brain to knock it up to a three either.

This was a last ditch effort because our first choice(Pluto’s) was closed due to remodeling. We wanted something quick after the Renegade Craft Fair. The pizza seemed kind greasy. The slices are generous though but it still didn’t seem very filling like other slices are. The water tasted like a sports drink. I’ve had lemon water before but that was just plain awful. I’d say it’s about 2.5 stars.

Hmm, the other reviews lend a mixed-bag feel to this place. I have to say that while it did not blow my shoes off with outstanding flavor this pizza was not so bad to make me want to vomit uncontrollably. Which is to say, it wasn’t bad at all. I like that they had Hawaiian slices ready to go, and the lunch special was a pretty good value. Plus, there’s an off chance that you might get to see a hairy little Robin Williams in line waiting for a slice of his own, so that counts for something.
