this pizza is amazing! im originally from buffalo NY so although our pizza is different from NYC style I can still recognize delicious pizza. not many places on the West Coast can send me head over heels about a slice of pizza but Hole In the Wall has done just that. oh and by the way, just get the ranch dressing. it is heavenly!

We all live a fast paced lifestyle. And getting our food quick and on-the-go is key on many occasions. This takes us to the trendy Marina District in San Francisco where you will find«SF Hole In The Wall Pizza». Conveniently located on Scott St. and in between Chestnut and Lombard St’s., this place has been feeding hungry patrons of every lifestyle since 2012. I actually stumbled on this place by accident and that was simply walking by(without using the Unilocal app on my smartphone). Now that doesn’t very often anymore! Reason being is that I needed a quick bite to eat while my lady was getting her hair and nails done. Not to mention, I had already chugged down a few beers at a local sports bar which gave me the munchies after consuming alcoholic beverages. Now keep in mind, this place literally is a hole-in-the-wall. There is no seating inside but it does offer a few tables and chairs outside. You mainly have to have the mindset that your food will be to-go. Going back to the interior layout of this place. It is very small but there is enough room to view the menu; one of my gripes is how difficult the menu is to read. There is also a wide array of autographed pictures(which includes the late Robin Williams and others) on the left hand side. You can also see how the kitchen is in the rear of the building. With as tiny as this place is, I am almost thinking that this entire business is only about 400 square feet. Onto the food; their pizza selections are actually quite extensive. You will find your standard cheese, pepperoni, combination, and vegetarian. And several other creations such as the Margherita, Chicken Pesto, BBQ Chicken and the Pizza Aloha. If pizza isn’t your thing, they also serve calzones, burgers, wings, fries, meatballs, sandwiches, and salads. And for refreshments, they have fountain drinks as well as bottled beer. I ended up ordering a slice of their«Chicken Pesto» which came to a little over $ 5.00. I do like how they put the pizza in a nice little box to fit their New York-styled slice. As far as the taste, I think it was just average at best. I had very little chicken on my pizza and the taste of the basil in the pesto was very subtle. It almost just tasted like a standard cheese slice. Fortunately I was able to dress it up by adding crushed red pepper but that didn’t really do much. I suppose if you were extremely drunk, this would taste amazing. But even after drinking three beers, the pizza just wasn’t all that. I do think a place like this will do just fine; simply because its in the heart of the Marina District and also because the shopping in this part of town is thriving. Not to mention, prices on their food is dirt cheap which is all the more reason to get filled up for just a few bucks. Overall, I don’t think I will come back to «SF Hole in the Wall Pizza». But if you’re a pizza lover, I would still consider checking this place out.

I thought the pizza wasn’t bad. Thin crust New York style pizza which is what I like in a pizza. The sauce was a little off. I couldn’t pinpoint what it was about it. I ordered a side of fries which I enjoyed. I really liked that they salted them since a lot of places don’t. I probably would go back if I were in the area maybe try something different on my pizza.

It was a cold day. Many of the restaurants in this neighborhood weren’t serving dinner yet. I was chilly, hungry, and a bit grumpy. I step into Hole it the Wall Pizza and I’m immediately greeted by a friendly staff. I had a delicious hot slice, an equally delicious cold beer, and left very happy. Definitely going to start making excuses to end up in the Marina so I can stop by Hole in the Wall.

So good! This is the best pizza I’ve had anywhere outside of my hometown, NY. The service was extremely friendly and much more than what you’d expect at a casual pizza place. Can’t wait to come back!

This place has the BEST pizza I’ve had so far in SF. Absolutely amazing. And the guy at the counter is so nice! I was talking to him about how I had never been in before and he gave me a free house ranch to try! And the ranch was absolutely amazing! Definitely going to start coming here more often. And they’re open late!

Hole in the Wall can hit the spot with a walk-in by the slice or a delivered wagon wheel if you. Red something to service a ravenous pack of drunk roomies. The bacon they throw on pizza is crisped perfectly and their Deep Fried Oreos bring out the inner fat kid in anyone. The walk-in has four barstools and a bench outside, so you might have to stand if it’s a busy drinking night in the Marina.

There’s some charm to it actually living up to its name(being a hole in a wall) and in place itself generally operating much like a hole in the wall NYC pizza place. The problem is that the pizza itself is pretty average. It’s New York style, but the cheese doesn’t taste particularly great and nothing about the pizza brings to mind«truly delicious» when you eat it. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza here isn’t bad, but unless you’re in a situation like us(nowhere else was open near the movie theater) there’s basically no reason to come here.

So far, my favorite pizza joint in SF. Ask for thick crust & well done… you won’t regret it!

This pizza is great for late night munchies! The bottom crust is crispy just how I like it. My boyfriend and I always order this after the club. It also makes for great hang over breakfast!

I’m so upset that the spinach calzone was loaded with a ton of red onions. They should warn people before they order that item. I was looking forward to eating here but I will never come back.

They have a whole wall dedicated to robin Williams! Some friends and I came here after a night of drinking and it was exactly what we needed. The cashier was so friendly and accommodating — he gave us Oreos while we waited for our pizza to cook! There’s definitely a cozy, homey vibe to this neighborhood hole in the wall pizzeria which we loved.

Coming from a New Yorker who now lives in San francisco… Pizza isn’t bad. 5 thumbs DOWN? 6+ dollars for a dozen garlic knots. No way! Thats robbery. Price is too high for pizza, spend your money somewhere nice around the corner or something.

After a night out with friends and having the drunk munchies I came across this place as it was the few places still open late night and I so happened to make it as they were about to close. They were out of slices and weren’t about to make another pie which is understandable. My buddy and I decided to split a medium pie which ended up being DELICIOUS! I don’t know if it was because I was drunk but I definitely enjoyed it enough to want to write a review the next day. Only thing I could negative which isn’t really that much of a negative would be the prices(in my opinion) are a bit high for the type of place it is. But then again it is San Fran and everything is expensive. Do I regret buying the pizza??? No, not at all. Would I do it again? Definitely! Thank you for the much needed yummyness!

Was browsing for something cheap and within walking distance from the hotel and stumbled across this place. Literally a hole in the wall. Cheap prices and fast service. The cashier whom I’m assuming is the manager went out of his way to make me a fresh slice with a few extra minutes of wait time. Delicious!

I happened to walk by Hole in The Wall Pizza and stopped in my tracks by the smell wafting out the front door. It was only 11:15am, but my stomach told me it was lunch time. I ended up with a slice of the«Hangover» — Bacon, Jalapenos, Pineapple… delicious. The crust was crisp, had a nice amount of chew, and the toppings were great. The best part to me was the red sauce — savory, bright, and not sweet(too many tomato sauces are sweet!!). To top it off, the guy working the counter insisted I take a free beverage for the road. Nice touch. Cheers!

Was craving for a pizza and and since i didnt buy a whole pizza so decided to come here since this is the only i know that close enough that enough to my workplace that does pizza by slice. This place is pretty but have seatings for those who want to dine in. When i first walk in, there wasn’t no one at the front/cashier until someone came in and walk to the back telling cashier person that i was waiting. But their service was quick if you just want the pizza by slice and if it isnt busy. I got the combo which cost $ 4.26. Okay price but the slice they gave me was pretty big. They warm the pizza for you before they give your pizza. Their pizza was not bad. It was crispy at the crust. The pizza kinda got warm fast by the time i walk back to my workplace even though they put the pizza in the oven. Will come back if i want something quick for lunch
