Javalencia has consistently delicious sandwiches. I have been here numerous times because it’s near work and I am never disappointed by the sandwiches. The chicken salad is my favorite, but it is not always available. So I try other items, like the turkey club and the roast beef. The sandwiches are served on bread of your choice(I choose sliced wheat) and are piled high with the works. The sprouts produce a varied texture against the lettuce to keep your sandwich interesting along with pickles and onion for a little extra zing. Mayo and mustard used moderately and lots of fresh avocado(but it will cost you extra). These sandwiches are works of art. I do miss the orange slice they used to serve next to the sandwich, but it won’t deter me from eating here. In fact, it drove me to purchase one of their fresh melon cups, which are healthy and refreshing!

I simply adore this place. In a part of town that can be misconstrued as pretty bad, Javalencia stands out above the rest. The shop is cute and quaint. They have a wide array of sandwiches, breakfast pastries and coffee. The service is great. Juan and Nacho are so pleasant. They are adorable and make you feel like you’re always getting a personal experience. I can’t tell you how much I love love love this place. Don’t take my word for it. Try them out! They try hard to keep with the essence of coffee shops in San Francisco.

I love the fact that Juan always know your tastes and will make the perfect coffee for you. The staff is very friendly, they welcome artists and everyone in general. You can seat and enjoy your coffee next to random customers… always start new conversations. Trendy-like vibe, they used to help organize art festivals on 3rd street I am not sure about now. The food is good! The breakfast bagel with avocado! The breakfast croissant, the coffee is good. On the downside, they did become a bit pricey! My favorite coffee raised up to $ 4.95 for a medium size cup(its a soy caramel machiato), I still love it though I can only afford it here and there not daily. I still go and buy it when I am around the area! :) Enjoy…

Javalencia is one of your typical coffee shops that serves espresso drinks, smoothies, salads and sandwiches. I went to try this place for lunch as it is one of the only coffee shops in the area. I ordered the BLT with avocado, where they offer your choice of bread. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great. That being said, if you are looking for some coffee in the area, swing by this place and you could pick up a decent lunch.

Stayed in the area on San Fran weekend trip & host had it listed as local breakfast option. Coffee is hot for hubby, latte fixed the way I like it, and our girls devoured the granola. I snuck a bite and it was yummy. Real Friendly service, basic breakfast & coffee counter. A few tables but not super inviting to sit and stay awhile.

Love this place! Bayview’s local«Noah’s Bagel» pick up your morning coffee/specialty drink, pastries, or your lunchtime bagel sandwich! Menu choices are pretty extensive and accommodating. Juan is the sweetest friendliest nicest server/barista/cashier! Free WiFi! Great location for meetings, studying, lounging.

I’m Fairly new to the Bayview area, as my office has just recently moved from the Richmond District. In search of some coffee and some snacks a few weeks back, I found this gem! Today I returned to do some work, and was so happy with the service, the staff, & even sparked a conversation with another customer. Can’t wait to return!

I was looking for something to eat for brunch and stumbled on this place. Service is blahhh, pastries are huge and hot chocolate is watered down. I tried the Lox bagel and I looooooved it so I went two more times, always ordering the same thing and that’s when stars started falling. The first time I ordered it, the salmon was chopped up and mixed together with the other ingredients, it was delicious. The second time the salmon was in strips and the edges were a little discolored, didn’t eat it all. The third time they didn’t have any. Consistency would be nice but since I can’t find any in their bagel maybe I’ll look in their pastries the next time.

Came here for a cup of coffee before a meeting. At least I wanted to. Waiting and waiting, I had to leave before they could even take my order.

Javalencia is on the edge of the bayview. parking is so so in this area. corner location makes Java conspicuous. brew: house coffee,(L. 2.17) –light roast, smooth body, low acidity. –good for easy sipping drips: –tax charged on coffee(so 3 stars) –only one brew seen. no choices offered. –drip coffee available, different roast daily –sitdown places available.

I know there are other coffee places on third in the Bayview, but I’ve been to this place about 4 times because its closer to the office. The service is great, but sometimes the coffee is stale like its been sitting for a while. Maybe the made to order espresso drinks are the way to go. I will report back later if I decide to accept another mission. Nice local art work on the walls.

What a gem for this neighborhood! For starters this place isn’t the least bit shady and the shop has a mellow, welcoming vibe. I usually wouldn’t have a reason to sit down and enjoy the scenery, but if I did there is ample seating to stretch out with your books, friends, etc. For $ 3.25 you can pick up a medium sized latte and if you’re hungry the sandwiches are delicious. i’ve grabbed the vegetable sandwich with hummus a few times and it always hits the spot!

Very good, clean non-chain coffee and pastry shop in an area of the city badly needing places such as this.

Wow… What a little gem of a café in Bayview/Dogpatch! I recently started working in this area and this place is only a block from my office. I am so happy that I can finally get a GREAT latte AND a really good hot breakfast sandwich in the same location for cheap! My choice for the morning pick-me-up is a vanilla latte. They pull a great shot of espresso here and steam the milk perfectly. It may sound easy, but it’s not as easy as you think. For my breakfast I have either the toasted sesame bagel with hummus or a bacon, egg and cheese croissant. And they don’t use no powdered or fake egg products here. Nope. They fry up an egg fresh when you order it. The whole sandwich is just really great. Gets me through my morning so I don’t feel like gnawing my arm off by 11am.

This place is free of attitude, which means that I can come by every morning for my coffee, and then back at noon for lunch and feel super comfortable to stick around for a while with my laptop and write emails(or Unilocal reviews…). I also come back for lunch for the very reason that their vegetarian sandwich is incredibly delicious and nutritious. The price is right, and the ingredients are fresh. The coffee is not bad, I was not expecting a high-end soy latte, but what they make is certainly superior to starbucks… which says a lot. I love how relaxed it is inside, and that the chairs are comfortable. I like that they have proper spoons rather than plastic or wooden sticks for my coffee. Minus one star because I think they should spend extra attention to the bathroom. They are usually not clean, the seat is always up, and the soap dispenser doesn’t work so well. I hope they address the bathroom problem.

A great new place on 3rd! I expect good things from this place when it starts booming. Definitely my new spot to grab coffee in the morning. I walked across the street to try out the newbie on the block. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich on multi-grain bread with hummus. So good and only $ 4.50! I am a sandwich lover and I don’t like lots of bread so this place is right up my alley. And sprouts to boot! Yum! It’s no Klien’s, but it could be with some work.

Hooray! A brand new coffee house in the Bayview! A «pick me up» for the neighborhood coffee lovers!!! Not to mention FREEWI-FI! What more could you ask? I couldn’t believe it… I came in randomly after dropping off tools for a welding class at the SF Community College off Evans and lo and behold, I immediately noticed this place. Immaculately clean and bright, there was a line of local happy people, excited about the coffee house. The staff was very pleasant and polite and when I expressed my appreciation for this coffee house, they beamed with pride. I had the orange mocha valencia and let me tell you it was very, VERY good. It was just as good as the orange mochas I had in Italy! They had a diverse selection of breakfast treats — bagels are their claim to fame. They even had vegetarian selections such as tofutti, chives, and herbs. The pastries look absolutely delectable! I’ve got to come back and try them! With places such as Flora Grubb and Javalencia, the Bayview is popping up with these small businesses. It’s exciting to see, as we are part of this diverse, family community. Support them!
