Ken’s Cleaners

You know, I’ve had nothing but a great experience here. My husband and I have been coming here probably for about 10+ years now, Ken and his wife are always happy and smiling when I come in. I feel like their prices are reasonable and far less expensive than the cleaner right next door to my office downtown… and they do a better job at taking tough stains out. I used to live really close to Ken’s and then moved. I’ve tried taking my clothes to three other places that were supposedly «high end» and have been disappointed every single time. Now I make a trip just to drop off my clothes here and have been happy. I feel like Ken doesn’t really promise anything he can’t deliver. For instance I had a dress with food stains on it and he says, «I’ll try.» Then I get my clothes back and most of the time the stains are magically gone.
One thing: parking is kinda tough. The neighborhood has gotten kinda popular with the neighboring businesses and it makes it harder to park just to pick up or drop off your clothes. My suggestion is to going during the afternoon when there is less traffic.

Awesome service, and always smiling. They even got all of the white dog hairs out of my wool jacket! I’ve been going to them for 3 years now and I have yet to be disappointed.

I’ve been using Ken’s for about 6 years now. What you expect from a dry cleaners is fairly minimal. You just want them to take your clothes, clean them, and have them ready for pick up in a reasonable amount of time. Ken’s does all of these things. Dropping off is quick and easy. He accepts credit cards (some dry cleaners don’t). He has the clothes ready for me within a normal amount of time. Pick up is always quick and easy. I can’t really ask anything more of him. The only downside to his location is parking. Sometime I find myself double parking out front which I don’t like to do.

This place is the only non-​sketchy place in my area. The guy and the woman their are ok. I sometimes go to this place in Nob Hill when I stay at my bf’s place and a lot of the places around there are cheaper. Washing and dry cleaning here is the same price. which is not the norm.
One time I came to pick up and I was told it wasn’t done till after 2pm or something. Frustrating that I was told a certain day, and that day was even written down on my ticket WITHOUT a certain time frame to pick up. I can’t blame it on a communication barrier because the woman (who speaks perfect english) told me «Saturday». I came Saturday before work and I wasted a trip. Another time I came to drop off and they said I had nothing to pick up. I came again to drop off and pick up what I dropped off on my last visit, and a pair of pants that I have been looking for (that I suspected to still be there) showed up with the rest of my things. I knew I had more clothes there but it was troubling that they said I did not.
The rudeness that I get there I excuse as cultural, you can’t escape that going to the next place. They do though always remember me, the spelling of my name and phone number. I just don’t like the prices. The few hiccups they had with me were not major, but were more than past places I been to. In all fairness though I think I used this place more than any other place, so the chances of something happening are greater. Over all this is not a bad place, and I think the prices are above average because it is the only place that isn’t bad in the whole outer sunset area.

I have been having my clothes dry cleaned at Ken’s for the past 4 years. They recently cleaned a dress for me and the next time I went to wear it the liner was gone. I took it back in and asked the woman at the counter about it. She denied any wrongdoing, asked me why she would remove the liner and re sew it, blah blah, blah. Gee, I don’t know maybe you ripped it or burnt it.
I’m not writing this negative review because they made a mistake. I’m writing it because they lied about it AND let me pay for the cleaning of the dress they had ruined.
If they had been forthcoming when I went in to pick up my dress they would still have my business and this Unilocal review might have been more than one star.

Ken’s Cleaners is our neighborhood dry cleaner. We’ve lived out here for nearly two years, and have use them every week. They’ve never let us down. The clothes are handled gently, they’ve never lost anything, and they are great for minor repairs as well as cleaning. Ken and Karen are very friendly, too.

I love Ken! Eveyrone is friendly, they take care of you fast, they remember my name, they let me bring my dog inside, and they’re reasonably priced. Awesome service.

I was a new patron of Ken’s for a few weeks with no problems. In and out service.
I then brought in a cable knit sweater. After picking it up and taking the plastic covering off, I saw a gaping tear/​hole on the front and brought it back. His assistant stitched it, but it now very obviously looks like it’s been torn and unskilled hands tried to make a quick fix.
I brought this to Ken’s attention and asked for the value of the sweater back so I could buy another. He offered $ 10, and then said I could have made the hole at home, found an old hangar and drying cleaning cover of his, and brought it in simply to point a finger at someone.
Yes, Ken, outside of committing time to my family and career, I enjoy challenging the ethos of Outer Sunset dry cleaners.

This is my favorite dry cleaner! Ken is so nice and friendly always smiling — he always remembers my name. The are fast and very resonably priced in comparision to other dry cleaners.
This is a local shop that I will definitely support because they are so great to everyone in the neighborhood.

Good service, efficient, and used to be a block away from my house. Unfortunately im moving and will most likely end up finding a more local cleaners but if i dont, chances are ill be back to Ken’s.

Ken’s is a great place for cleaning service and alterations. Ken is friendly, courteous, professional and well-​priced.

ken does a damn good job with my suits. I get one cleaned at least once a week. always there on time, always friendly.

It’s now $ 12 to have pants altered with their original hem =(!!

The BEST cleaners in the Sunset. Let me tell you all I have tried dry cleaners from Taraval to Irving and have finally settle for Ken’s Cleaners. I have been using him exclusively for about a year now. He provides great service; will rush your order WITHOUT adding an additional charge and the final product is cleaned and pressed to perfection (unlike the other cleaners that I have parted ways with). Ken’s is a bit out of the way at Ocean Beach but for me the slight inconvenience is well worth it.

Ken and crew do everything well at a reasonable price-​this includes alterations, cleaning and items are ready when promised.

I have been using Ken’s dry cleaning service for at least 5 years and very satisfied with the results.

Ken is the man! He’s super cool and can get any job done. We’ve taken clothes to be dry cleaned and altered, and they come back perfect. Plus you can’t beat the price. Ken’s Cleaner’s is highly recommended — if not for the customer service, but for the money you can save.
