Small place but great food quality! If the line is too long just order to go and eat it elsewhere. Spicy pork, tofu soup, and dolsot bibimbap are my favorites. The sweet and spicy wings are out of this world! Been going back here for quick lunch and dinners when i cant decide what to eat, never wrong. [:

We’ve been here a couple times now, and I really like this place! Everything we ordered has been incredibly delicious. It’s not a very big restaurant, and there can be a bit of a wait, but definitely well worth it! So far, we’ve tried bul kogi(BBQ beef), dae ji bul kogi(spicy pork), kanpoongki(sweet and spicy chicken wings), dol-sot bibimbap(beef with fried egg over rice in a sizzling stone bowl), and the raspberry wine. I’m really looking forward to coming back so I can try their beef jabchae! If you’re looking for some really yummy Korean food, definitely check out this spot!

Soft tofu soup is the best in my experience. If you want an egg, make sure to let the waitress know(otherwise you won’t have it). Kim chi fried rice is pretty good too. Subtract one star because side dishes are so so.

Went on a weekday eve, so the wait was short. Food was delicious and the service for us non-Korean customers was very good. They explained each condiment and thanked us multiple times. Recommend the kimchi pancakes and bi bim bap.

I guess I haven’t been too lucky here as I see all the good reviews about the food. I decided to get a order of soy sauce chicken wings since I didn’t want anything too sweet. Price was normal for wings(~$ 10) and I liked that it came was veggies, kimchi and a side of rice. Although the sides that accompanied the dish were good, the chicken was completely dripping in oil. By the time I got to the second wing, I definitley had a bottle of aspirin by my side just in case. The portion was good, but each bite included packets of oil hidden beat the meat and skin. Couldn’t eat the rest. I might try them again sometime, but I’ll be going to San Tung for my wing cravings from now on.

Food(5⁄5): I got the mandu(dumpling) soup, and loved it! The broth is light but peppery, and it came packed with huge dumplings, beef, and egg. Perfect comfort food. My bf got the hot stone beef bibimbap, which he really liked. Banchan was also super fresh! Service(5⁄5): Pretty cramped space, which makes it really easy to get a server’s attention. Our waters/banchan were refilled frequently. Value(5⁄5): At least 30% cheaper than what we’ve been eating near Japantown, with equal or larger portions. It’s a little cheaper for lunch, but honestly their dinner prices are a dollar or two more. Our favorite Korean place in the city by far :)

Friday afternoon. I was walking down Irving in the Sunset contiplating what to eat when I noticed Manna. It was just across the way. I dated a Korean girl last night and boy did we have fun, so I figured«what the heck». I wanted to feel a bit of nostalgia. You can understand that, can’t you? By the way… I also noticed a Vietnamese place close but decided against it. Yeah she’s on my mind too. Sometimes. Anyway I’ll blog about it if you care. Check out my FB page. Thehumanexperience podcast/FB or better yet this For all the right reasons. Suzy, The place is amazing. Wey

As much as I miss KBBQ in LA, I’m glad to have found some good Korean food in the city. This place was recommended to me by different people, so I had to check it out to see if they were right. It is a small space and the parking situation sucks, but that’s just something to expect. We had a late dinner(later than expected because of the time to find parking), but there was no wait on a weeknight. All the food was good. I enjoyed the ban chan, bulgogi, seafood pancake, and dukbokki. The price point is on point cause it doesn’t break the bank and the service is very attentive and friendly. All in all, it was a very enjoyable meal.

Went to Manna by chance as the bf and I were trying to go to San Tung but alas, they’re closed on Wednesday! Our feelings of disappointment were quickly dashed as we stumbled upon Manna. We arrived around noon and sat at a table of our choice. The menus are conveniently displayed on the tables and complementary hot tea is brought out. We went with the Soy Sauced Chicken Wings and the Kim Chi Fried Rice. Both great choices! The chicken is fairly tender, the breading is super crispy and the sauce is sweet and salty. The fried rice was delicious as well! It’s more wet than I’ve had and kind of had a seafood flavor that I couldn’t quite place. Affordable prices. The only thing I had issue with was the banchan dishes. I would have liked to have had more dishes, but there were only four: kimchi, fish cake, bean sprouts and broccoli. I wish I lived closer to try more dishes! I would definitely recommend this place!

One of the best Korean spots in the city-it is by far my favorite. It is a small restaurant with limited seating and they don’t take reservations. Here’s what I recommend getting: — seafood hamupajun/Korean pancake — kalbi(beef short ribs) — soondoobu(soft tofu soup) — common Korean dish, it is a broth with kimchi, soft tofu and slices of beef or pork, quite tasty with rice — bugolgi(marinated beef) Any other dish will probably taste very good as the food is authentic and amazing! Your belly will definitely be happy with this choice.

Manna is a 20-seat Korean restaurant that had a 25 minute wait for lunch on a weekday. My first thoughts were that either that the food was excellent, or the restaurant was too small. The truth was somewhere in between. My family was fortunate enough to score a table for five. The food was inexpensive. I ordered the vegetable bibimbap for less than $ 10. Bibimbap reminds of Applebee’s sizzling entrees in a way, except with well combined Asian flavors. That kind of crushes my soul, but I won’t knock Applebees too much for their effective advertising. There was a certain fresh-but-savory balance in Manna’s bowl that is not so easy to find. It’s hard to compare bibimbap to bibimbap, but each bite at Manna felt rewarding. The service was kind too. We were cramped at the table, and once another table cleared up, the server moved us immediately. I would return if I were in SF and looking for Korean food. Parking is a nightmare and there will probably be a wait, but those are small prices to pay for consistent, affordable, Korean food.

Manna is one of the better Korean restaurants around my place! I especially love their ban-chans(side dishes), and it’s really the whole reason why I come here… Lollll! Their side dishes are always so fresh and I think they’re seasoned lighter than some other ban-chans I’ve tasted. Also I think they’re really good quality and not like the ones at the other Korean restaurants who kinda gives you some leftover tasting stuff. But even though I love their ban-Chans, I think their main dishes are just mediocre with the exception of their haemulpajeon(seafood pancake). Their seafood pancake is definitely a star, it’s the only pancake I’ve had in sf that was packed with seafood and tastes like the ones I had while I was living in Seoul. The dipping sauce that came with the pancake was also really tasty and complimented the pancake really well. If there is one dish I think you should try here– it’s definitely the seafood pancake! On another note– their kimchi jiggae is not to my taste, tasted too fermented.

Perfect Korean place to get your Spicy Tofu Soup, Bibimbap, and Kal Bi BBQ Short Ribs on in the sunset on a chilly night. Prices are super reasonable $ 10−15/Entrée. Tiny by cozy spot for tables of 2 – 4. Flavors are on-point. I’m a fan!

I enjoy this small Korean spot a lot. It’s packed on a Sunday noon and the wind was ridiculous cold even we’ve got some sun. It was very straight forward, my friend and I shared a Stone Pot Bibimbap, an order of Fried Chicken and a Kimchi Pork Soup. It was too much for us – blame no one — we enjoyed every dish and I love the crispiness as the fried chicken go, just enough of the sauce to keep the sweet and spice on it. Also lovely yummy small dishes. Friendly and fast servers. 2016017

I tried ordering take out and it shouldn’t be this difficult. I saw a fellow Unilocaler’s picture that said they have lunch special and I saw what I wanted to get. I called their number and talked to a female employee for about 2 minutes and she said(from my understanding) that I can’t have what I wanted(deep fried cutlet with rice) with rice. I was confused because it said it came with rice. She proceeded to explain but I still didn’t understand her which was hard. To make matters worse, there was no online menu. I ended up giving up and saying I don’t want to order.

Been wanting to come here for some time and finally got an opportunity recently. Arrived fairly early for lunch on a Saturday a few weeks ago and was pleased to get seated quickly. It’s a small very quaint restaurant and there’s usually a wait during their busy times. My son and I ordered the Kanpoongki(Sweet and Spicy Wings), which I really liked. They weren’t very hot, but I enjoyed the crispy texture and they were just sweet enough for my liking. My son ordered the Bul Kogi, which was really tasty. The meat was tender and the portion size was good. I ordered the Dol-Sot Bibimbap, which I really enjoyed. Nothing says Korean comfort food than a bowl of Bibimbap. Service was quick and friendly. I’ll have to come back to try a couple of other items on the menu.

I came here for dinner with a friend before Night Life at Academy of Sciences! We were seated prompty and the menu is already tucked under the glass on the table so you can order quickly. It is a small restaurant so it could be a little squishy. They have a table right next to the refrigerator where they store beer and soju. I can’t imagine how cold the guests are everytime they open it. Prices for food is fairly cheap. I ordered Dukbokgi(correct me if that is the wrong name). It is basically cylindar ruce rolls with fish cake in red spicy korean sauce. It’s one of my favorite korean dushes especially since i love rice rolls. Korean rice rolls are extra chewy which i like. It came with a bowl of rice with no extra charge! Usually at other places, they charge extra for rice. Note: the bathroom is a little small. They sure know how to use every inch of their small restaurant wisely!

Manna is the place I go to for my Korean food craving. It’s a small place on the corner of 9th and Irving that seats about 15 people. Because of the lack of tables, the wait for Manna is very long. For instance, a party of 2 on a Sunday night at 7:00pm is 1 hour. A part of 2 on a Tuesday night at 7:00pm is 1 hour or more. Because of this, I’d recommend anyone wanting to go to Manna to be prepared for a wait or to come in at more odd hours of the day. In terms of food, the quality is great and most dishes range from $ 10 – 15. They will serve you 5 side dishes consisting of broccoli, kimchi, bean sprouts, white radish, and fish cake. The food comes out steaming hot and very quickly. The most popular dishes here seem to be the bibimbap(in the stone pot) and the kimchi pancake, although I doubt you can go wrong with anything you pick here. I’ve also tried the seafood tofu soup and it is superb — They didn’t crack an egg in it as many other Korean restaurants do. Maybe you have to ask for it? Service is professional and efficient. They refill your water frequently and without prompting. Barley tea is free. They do try to turn tables quickly and this is probably not the place to go if you want to take a leisurely lunch. Overall, this is an awesome place for Korean food. Come here at the odd hours or early evening(definitely before 7pm) to avoid a long wait. Order the bibimbap in the hot stone pot. Prices are reasonable in the $ 10 – 14 range.

MANNA Mia, here I go again. My My, how can I resist you? I came here with a friend for lunch and I left feeling like I visited my grandmother’s house and just had the best, warm, and most loving meal ever. First off, lunch prices are cheap — well worth your money. I was shocked at how cheap the meals were, considering the portion size and how fresh the food tasted. I ordered the Soft Tofu Soup with Beef and it was delicious. You can’t really go wrong with Soft Tofu Soup, but I felt like Manna’s soup was full of flavor and hit the spot. The side dishes were just as good. I love how simple the restaurant is. It offers solid and affordable Korean food with good service. Place is a bit cramped and small, but I was too busy enjoying my meal to be bothered by it. Thankfully, my friend and I didn’t have to wait to be seated, but I’m not surprised why there’s usually a wait for this place. I will for sure want to come back again!
