I can’t believe this is my first review of Nick’s, but after 20+ visits… I’ll hit you with a pros and cons list Pros: — so reasonable for taco tuesday and even everyday, it’s crazy — two tacos will definitely fill you up — tvs everywhere, super fun place to watch a game — reservations are worth it for taco tuesday & game days — breakfast burritos are bangin’!! Cons: — rude staff — mediocre bartenders — a bit smelly A few weeks before my boyfriend’s surprise birthday party, I called and made a Taco Tuesday reservation at Nick’s. When I arrived, they had lost our reservation and therefore screwed up the entire surprise(we went to Bullit instead). The manager emailed me, offering me a Taco Tuesday on her. I took her up on the offer a few months later for a Warriors playoff game. She was really thoughtful, placed us in a booth as so it wasn’t crowded and we could bring tons of friends around. She comped the first round of beers, and told us we could take our bucket home(which they later removed from our table and we couldn’t take home). They also comped the food, so all in all it was a fantastic apology for surprise birthday party reservation gone wrong. Unfortunately, she didn’t seem completely honest in her intentions. She kept telling us she was going to take care of us, give us a deal, etc in a strange way. She was very out of her way nice to us… until later in the evening. It got busy and a friend of mine tried to order at the bar. She coincidentally ended up speaking to the manager who assisted her at the bar. When my friend tried to ask about the tequilas(top shelf v. standard), the woman scoffed at her«I’m not your cocktail waitress.»

Title: Needy crowded place — not worth coming here Will never be coming to this place. Had to give my credit card info to reserve a reservation, which is fine. The only pro was that the food came very fast. Reason 1 for not coming: during the meal, they really wanted my email address and came back to get it after the meal — why do they need my email? The worker had no good reason and kept saying«they want it»… Who is «they»? Reason 2 for not coming: we ordered 6 tacos(2 carne asada, 1 carnitas, 2 veggies &1 pescado). They charged us for 9. However, I had to give up trying to even get our money back because other than the fact the food came fast, every other service was SUPER slow. It came to a point where waiting 30 mins for $ 7 was not worth it. Reason 3 for not coming: why is there a photographer taking our picture while we are eating dinner? This is not a club. Reason 4 for not coming: It was cash only, but they still wanted our credit card and id to hold… Weird. Final thought: WOULDNOTCOMEBACK, don’t waste your time coming here, there are better tacos elsewhere

A very odd place that’s a bar and a taco joint at the same time. Well the taco joint is hidden in the side, but it’s cool regardless. Cash only!!! I was wondering what type of person comes to this place at night, but whatever, I was there at 2 on a Saturday. I got the BBQ pork special and grilled fish taco, fiancée got veggie tacos and we shared poppers. There was enough food where we didn’t need the poppers, or we didn’t need to each get 2 tacos. The tacos were lavishly appointed with all sorts of good toppings, depending on the type. The poppers were good, but nothing to write home about. The drinks sounded tasty, but I was trying to be good about not drinking too much. I definitely will return to this place if I’m ever back in the area.

Spent a random day in the city and decided to finally cross this of my places to eat. I have no idea why it took me this long to eat here but glad I finally made it! We came on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and it wasn’t too crowded. I was surprised to see it attached to a lounge — kind of cool for an evening thing but also kind of odd at 3PM. Never thought I’d be eating tacos in a very red room surrounded by so many bros. Anyways, on to the tacos! I got 2 vegetarian tacos and shared the jalapeño poppers. The food came out pretty quickly. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of guacamole they add. Definitely a major bonus point! I also was surprised at the crispy taco shell within the taco but I guess it is called Nicks CRISPY Taco. Added a nice crunch to the overall taco. 2 was very filling even though they appear small. They stuff it with beans, cabbage, onion, cheese, and guacamole. The jalapeño poppers were okay, nothing too special. I would recommend against them and instead trying another taco if you’re hungry. Didn’t try any of the drinks but there appears to be a lot of specials so wouldn’t mind coming back to check those out. It’s cash only so something to keep in mind.

Love their **Fried Fish Taco, Nick’s Way! Best fish taco in the city. It’s huge and yummy! You won’t go wrong by order that. Also their NACHOS with steak, delicious! When you order chips and salad, its loaded, genuineness. FYI underdogs does not taste as good. Taco Tuesdays are crazy. Lines are super long and you might have to stand and eat. The place is huge tho because its turns into a night club, Rouge. The food is good but I don’t think its the best place to watch a game. Well at least not for a warriors game. People wasn’t even cheering. BOO! no sports bar atmosphere when they are trying to be. Cash only for the FOOD but at the Bar credit card accepted. $ 20 pitcher for margaritas!

Nick’s Crispy Taco shares a space with a bar and it made it really strange walking in. It was really dark inside and there was loud club music playing in the middle of the day. The space felt divey and not super clean; there was a lot of trash around the front door(maybe it was from the large crowds from bay to breakers). We ordered the pescado burrito(deep fried fish), 3 chicken tacos, got free salsa and chips with the Unilocal check-in offer, and it was all really delicious. It was definitely more than enough for 2 – 3 people. The food was great(but the prices are a little on the expensive side), but the loud party/club music made our lunch experience less enjoyable. We’ll probably order food to-go next time.

I really loved these tacos! And the booths, lighting fixtures and ombiance were really kitchy Free chips and salsa with my Unilocal checkin. The tacos were gigantic! It took me some strategy on how to get the first bite in my mouth… super fresh salsa, really savory and tender meat, brilliant green guac and the right amount of cheese. We each ordered ½ regular soft and ½ crispy tacos; I loved them both. Four tacos was way too much each, but we stuffed them in anyway! Too good to leave behind.

Food is alright but definitely pricey. About ten bucks for a burrito and 4.25 per taco! So yeah… Bar tenders however are awesome and very friendly/helpful. In my opinion you are paying for the bar/bartenders here. Pints are $ 6 a pop. Also, you order at the counter then seat yourself(I’d recommend sitting at the bar, those guys will take care of you more than the wait staff). I would sum this place up as American Bar style mexican food.

Hype. Alll the hype. I’ve been here twice now on taco tuesday and here’s what I’ve notice: 1. It’s loud & stressful — there’s a DJ, which is funny 2. The food comes out very quick — too quick to find a table 3. It’s crowded. Good luck finding a table(unless you sit outside, but no alcohol outside) 4. Cash only — but cheap! 5. The tacos are tacos. What do I mean about #5? I mean they’re good and large but I don’t find the meat all that great. I’ve had better flavored meat/tacos at taquerias, where tacos are cheap regardless of what day of the week it is. I like the guac. I actually did not care for«nicks way» The crispiness dried out the taco, even with the cheese and guac added to it. Will I be back? Probably at some point, but not rushing back.

Yum. This place is tasty. Nick’s is technically inside a very very divey bar(Rouge) that I’m told gets pretty trashy once it gets too late at night. The SO and I came for an early dinner one day so the bar wasn’t too crazy yet. But anyways, this place is cash only and serves up some awesome tacos. The most salient thing you need to know about Nick’s is the Nick’s Way tacos, which is basically like… a hard shell taco wrapped inside a soft shell taco with jack cheese and guac. Pretty dope. You should have at least one of your tacos Nick’s Way. Basic concept here is to order at the counter, grab a number, and then try to grab a seat. Seats aren’t exactly limited, but aren’t that plentiful either. We found the table and booth seats pretty rare, but a ton of space at a side bar in Rouge. We got the fish tacos, carnitas, and and pollo. Overall, the fish tacos were actually the best. The chicken was dry and unmemorable, and the carnitas weren’t all that juicy and tasty either. But the fish man, the fish were delicious. Nick’s Way is also great, though I personally thought that Nick’s Way was a bit overwhelming for me since I’m more of a pico de gallo kind of girl. Anyways, 3 tacos split between two was actually a pretty good portion size for us since the tacos are fairly large. If you check in on Unilocal, you get free chips and salsa! So definitely remember to do that. I really liked their pico de gallo. tldr; not exactly cheap, but definitely delicious Mexican food — great place for a chill meal

Cash only. ATM on site. Ok, I’ve been in the City for 3 years and I still can’t get over the price of these damn tacos! Tacos range from $ 4.25−5.25 — granted they are pretty dang big. A side of guac though, costs $ 1.50 and its the size of a small sauce/salsa container. For $ 1.50 I can get a whole damn avocado! Tons of seating, and self serve setting. Probably not the most authentic or as good as the ones in the Mission, but for the area, its a pretty solid Mexican joint. Ordered: Elote — YUM. Do yourself a favor, and get one or two. Perfectly seasoned, and cooked. Kernels are soft and juicy and the amount of butter, cheese and spices blend perfectly in your mouth. Fish Tacos — Delicious. Fish was fried to a crispy golden brown and the meat itself was still juicy and not overcooked. Carnitas — DRY. They also filled the taco with peppers and pinto beans. Huh? Maybe I should have read the descriptions more clearly, but whole beans(really, any beans) in my meat taco is a no no. Overall, I think this place is pricey for what it is. The elote and fish tacos are the way to go. Their taco Tuesdays seem like a pretty good deal … $ 6 for two tacos. Maybe that’s the way to do it!

I am from LA and these tacos are a whole another take! Wow it is like eating a steak! These tacos will fill you up especially if you get them Nick’s way! The ambiance is pretty cool. You have to reserve tables to eat otherwise your grabbing the taco bar and eating at bar. Not kid friendly! Will have to come back and try other varieties.

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Saturday night. Pretty packed, but thank God we found a table. You order in the front and get a number and find a seat. We ordered: Corn on cob: YUM, loved it so much! It had a white creamy sauce sprinkled with some hot peppers. Fish Taco: OK, fish was kinda cold, wasn’t too impressed, but crispy! Carne Asada Taco: Pretty good, meat was tender. Overall, I felt the tacos could of been more hot, it was kinda cold, wasn’t feeling it. Make sure you get Nick’s style for the extra crispy! Check in Unilocal and get free chips and salsa!

Lovee Nicks! One of the best taco’s I’ve tried in the city. They also have a sister restaurant called Tako in the marina as well. During Taco Tuesday, it definitely gets pretty busy and there will always be a line if you come anytime after 8ish or so. If you want to reserve a booth, call and ask for Rebecca. It’s so much better to reserve a booth and enjoy your drinks and tacos at peace instead of standing all day. Another great time to come here is when there’s a game on too. You’ll never go wrong with any tacos you get here. I always get their tacos either pollo and carne asada but whatever you get I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. What I love about their tacos is that its two layered tortillas and one is soft and the other is crunch. It has that perfect crunch-soft texture.

As others said, make a reservation or be prepared to wait. The happy hour is awesome(I think it went to 7:30 or 8 on a Friday night) and the food is cheap for SF and amazingly good. This is the same guy who opened Taco Shop at Underdogs – another one of my favorite places in the city. The design is a little weird but fun and the bartenders were super attentive.

I get it. Nick’s is super fun! It’s in the back of a bar! You can get more cheese on your orders! But at the end of the day, the tacos are aight and that’s the only way to my taco loving heart. Ordered the two most popular items on the menu: the pescado, deep fried Baja fish taco goodness, and the carne asada«Nick’s way» which is basically with two tortillas, the inside one grilled crunchy with a layer of cheese in between. The tacos aren’t bad, just poorly constructed and crammed with too much miscellaneous stuff. More salt! My fingers are not bloated enough for being on vacation. Plus five stars for the horchata though since it actually tastes like rice and goes great with a shot of rum

Great tacos found here! I was expecting a small run down taco joint, but Nick’s is actually a sit down restaurant full of red booths and seating. At night, this place turns into a full bar and dance area. We stopped by just for tacos, which you order at the back counter. Nick’s way = inside corn tortilla is crispy and in between the two tortillas is a layer of jack cheese. Reminiscent of Taco Bell anyone? ;) My boyfriend got this with the carne asada, a good mix. I chose the grilled fish and opted to get regular soft tortillas instead. The flavor was good though I wish the fish was a bit bigger(I paid $ 5.25 for this!). Still in terms of tacos I’ve had, these were definitely in the top five!

I came here for Taco Tuesday for the first time and did not expect their ambiance. First off, I did not look at Unilocal before coming here so for some reason, I imagined a more authentic Mexican Restaurant when my friend said, «Let’s grab some tacos at Nick’s…» This place was not that LOL This place looked like a fancy bar but with college kids running around ahaha when I walked in all 21 to 28 year olds grabbing tacos and booze, music clamoring loudly, and sports playing on T.V. Not really a place you’d expect good tacos. This place gets packed real quick on a Tuesday. The red comfortable seats that you see in the pictures… Well make sure to make a reservation if you want to sit on those. Each booth were reserved by the hour. So there is a reservation at 6 then another at 7 then another at 8 and so on, you get the point. No reservation? Then you have to find a table in the middle or the bar, which is very very limited due to how packed it gets. The TACOs were pretty good(I am from socal, so I have pretty high expectations for DELICIOUS tacos) but the proportions were large! I tried the Carnitas and the Carne Asada, 2 for $ 5. I have to say their Carne Asadas were A LOT better! Overall, the place was cheap, good, and FILLING. 4 stars!

Fridays are the new Tuesdays… said no one ever. But I’m saying it now and I’ll explain why. If you want to avoid massive lines on Taco Tuesdays I would totally recommend getting here for happy hour on Friday. I’m talkin’ BIG tacos for REAL cheap. I got two massive tacos for 8 dollars(cash only or … some payment app) because I got them nick’s way, but otherwise it’s a two(select) items for $ 5 deal. My friend got one taco and one thing of nachos for $ 5. Her nachos were amazing, I would recommend getting that for sure.

Friendly/helpful staff. We came during the day so it was pretty empty. Checked in on Unilocal and we got the free nachos, but since those only have tomatoes/salsa, we ordered one with everything on it. That portion was HUGE. Had two tacos prepared Nick’s way. Tables could have been cleaned a bit more, as it felt sort of sticky to me.

Used to come here all the time on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday at night time– for the tacos and drinks. Will never com back. The management is incredibly rude. As a 21 year old, I have been here numerous times. The bouncer questioned my ID; I’m assuming it’s because I’m from a different state and I am out here for school. He asked for another photo ID, but I only had credit cards and debit cards etc on me, no photo ID(left my school ID at home) I asked to see the manager thinking she’d understand, but I was utterly surprised. She was very rude and basically told me if he questions it, he questions it. She did not take one look at my ID. I’ve never been treated this way from management at a bar or restaurant and definitely won’t be returning back. We went to the blue light instead — so much fun! $ 1 tacos and $ 2 beers. Service was also way better — I’d definitely recommend.

The customer service sucks. My friend got her iD questioned but she was actually 22 years old(which is fine they have every reason to) BUT when he called the manager… She was so condescending and didn’t even look at my friends ID. Terrible way of handling the situation. I am so disappointed in how the management handled this because I really do like Nick’s. I am never coming back here again.

Wow! This place blew me away. Probably the best tacos I’ve ever had. I read about Nick’s Crispy Tacos on a couple of San Francisco travel blogs and knew I had to bookmark it. My mom and I walked over here from the Fisherman’s Wharf area. It was a long walk but so worth it. We were immediately greeted by the lady behind the counter. She explained the process to us(order at the counter, take a seat with a number) and gave us her recommendations. She let us know that most people ordered the carne asada taco Nick’s Way(taco made crispy and topped with guacamole). She also recommended the pescado(beer battered fried fish) taco. I of course had to get both. My mom got the pescado and the vegetariano taco. I also got a small cup of Horchata. The food came out super quick. We got our chips and salsa that came with the Unilocal check-in immediately. The tacos were soon to follow. Literally everything we tried was amazing!!! My absolute favorite was the pescado taco. Good God the flavor! My mom literally could not put it down. I was able to put it down because I wanted to move on the carne asada taco so that I could save the pescado for last. Mmmmmm I’m still dreaming of that meal. It was so filling and fantastic. It was also inexpensive– $ 23 for everything we ordered. I highly recommend!

Some of the best tacos in the city and during happy hour so cheap!!! A great place to come for a beer and tacos to watch a game or hang out with friends. I liked the pescado and carne asada tacos with just a crispy shell taco. Not a big fan of the shell wrapped in the soft tortilla– Nick’s way, it’s too carby for me. The guacamole is a great plentiful additional which makes it hearty. I’ll give the tacos 3 stars but what really urked me was the service. The hostess barely made an effort to communicate or even smile. Our group sat ourselves. Lastly, the lounge, bar area reaked like the bathrooms. It was pretty bad, we had to move away to get away from the bathroom stench.

A couple of friends and I came here last week for Taco Tuesday. We arrived around 7pm and it was super crowded. You order at the register and they give you a number so they can bring it out to you. It took about 10 mins on a busy night to come out which was pretty quick in my opinion. I expected a longer time for it to come out. Tacos are 2 for $ 5. They are big for tacos, so don’t over order! I ordered a carne asada one and a carnitas one. Both are good, although i don’t see anything special with them. Compared to other places, they taste just«good» for me. I also ordered a margarita. My friends and I didn’t realized there are pitchers for $ 20. We would’ve totally got that instead since they are huge. I don’t think i would come back on a tuesday night especially if it is this packed every week. There is no room to sit or stand. You have to reserve the booths to sit there, but there are other open tables but they are packed. I would like to have a seat to eat my tacos instead of having people pushing me here and there and dropping toppings on myself.

Whoa this place is random! Taco place by day and Night Club by night! //AMBIANCE// This place is super interesting. Its very dark inside. There are these elevated round red velvet booths. There is a bar in the middle and tables on the other side next to the wall with the super big mirrors. Sit anywhere you want. There were TVs everywhere, great place to watch the game! We came in around 2:30 and people were still coming in to eat, which means that this place has something special! //FOOD// Chips and Salsa: FREE W/YELP CHECKIN. Yes, please. The salsa is actually pico de gallo, which I think is even better! Fresh tomatoes and onions are way better than the pureed version that could have been sitting out for awhile. Nachos with Carne Asada: Super yummy, with black beans, meat, and cheese. I have to admit that the cheese was a weird consistency, but still very tasty! It was more of a cream that was broken leading to a grainy texture. My one complaint is that sour cream did not already come with the nachos and we had to order it as a side. Boo :( Fried Chicken Taco, Nick’s Way: If you are going to come to Nick’s Crispy Tacos, you better get Nick’s Crispy Tacos. Its a no-brainer! Nick’s way adds guacamole and a crispy taco inside of your taco. That extra crunch really makes a difference! The chicken was crispy, but a little salty. The guac was fabulous. //SERVICE// Order at the register, get a number, sit anywhere, grab your own napkins and utensils, and get your own water. The food comes out quickly. But, there can be a line at the register because that’s the only way to put in orders. You can even ask to change the TV channels which is awesome! The clean up of tables can be a little slow, but the wait staff is super nice. //NEXT TIME// I saw three agua frescas I really wanted to try! I really want to come here for Taco Tuesdays, I just can’t say no to a deal! Until next time, Nick’s!

Taco Tuesday. SOOO crowded, but for some amazingly delicious and inexpensive tacos and quesadillas. Every Tuesday evening is crazy packed inside. Most likely, you’re not going to get a table unless you arrive before Happy Hour begins or if you made a reservation at least a week prior. People tend to stay in their seats for a long, long time because they are so scarce. When I went this past Tuesday, my crew and I just stood the whole time we were there. But the crowdedness is definitely the sole downside of my entire experience. You get some pretty darn good tacos for 2 for $ 5. I had the veggie tacos, which were smothered in delicious guacamole and were prepared Nick’s Way. I’m a little conflicted as for whether having your tacos Nick’s Way is worth the money or not. I loved the addition of the cheese and guacamole, but having two layers of tortilla was a little too much for me, especially because the«crispy» layer wasn’t especially crispy. I’m glad that the veggie taco came Nick’s Way automatically so that I didn’t have to pay extra and still got to try it. In terms of the flavor, my friends and I all thought that the tacos were great. Generous portions of meats and veggies to the point that the tacos are falling apart(get your fork ready!). I also got the cheese quesadilla for $ 2 on Taco Tuesday, and it’s weird to say, but this was one of the best quesadillas I’ve ever had… and all that was inside was cheese! I don’t know how, but Nick’s was able to add so much flavor into a quesadilla without too many ingredients. The portions are huge as well. If you love just regular cheese quesadillas, this one is to die for. Drinks are pretty cheap on Tuesdays as well. My friends and I shared a nicely-sized pitcher(served 4 – 5 people with one glass each) of margarita for $ 20. Cash only for tacos unless you have the LevelUp app to pay, which I highly recommend. LevelUp is just a payments app that’s very easy to use and connect a card to. I believe you save $ 2 on your first visit if you use LevelUp to pay! I doubt that I will come back to Nick’s other than for the Taco Tuesday deals, and next time I’ll definitely make a reservation far in advance so the crowd doesn’t become as much of a problem as it was this last visit.

I was pleasantly surprised and have heard/read rave reviews, but I am a skeptic myself. Its a little confusing how the seating and ordering works, otherwise I would give five stars. My friend and I wandered in looking for someone to help us and it took a couple minutes before we could flag down a food runner and have her clear off a table in one of the booths for us. The inside décor is really interesting, that of a lounge, which threw us off as well. But nice to look at, anyway. Upon checking in at Nick’s I received the offer via Unilocal for free chips and salsa. I love me some chips and salsa and these chips were EXCELLENT! Nice and thick, house made, not overly salted. And the salsa/pico was very fresh and tasty in tandem with the two other salsas available(roasted and green) in bottles on the table. You have to go up to the counter in the corner where the register is located to order, so I ordered the grilled fish taco and camarones, but forgot to ask to have them crispy(which, in my opinion, should be standard since the place is called«Nick’s CRISPY Tacos» but whatever). So I received my double tortilla tacos and they were pretty darn tasty with that green salsa. They don’t skimp on the filling either so two tacos, plus the chips, left me pretty full. My friend ordered the same but«Nick’s style» which includes guacamole and sour cream, for I believe an extra $ 1.50. The crispy shell was actually covered by the outer soft tortilla, interesting. Reminded me of a double decker taco from Taco Bell, but way more tasty-looking. We were lucky to get a table in the early evening on Sunday but I have heard there are lines out the door, so I guess its best to go at non-peak times if you’re tummy is grumbling!

I’ve had Nick’s tacos many times throughout the years at Underdog’s. I’ve also been to Rouge numerous times to dance the night away. But having Nick’s tacos at Rouge? I’ve never had that experience. Even now, I’m actually too lazy to go to Nick’s, but I decided to finally try tacos from this location when I saw them on Caviar( ). Ordered delivery on Sunday, July 5th around 11:45am. *Carne asada taco: grilled steak in corn tortilla with pico de gallo, no beans($ 4.10); Nick’s way: made crispy with jack cheese and guacamole(+$ 1.30) Nick’s way is the way to go! I love crunchy tacos, so I actually ate the tortillas since they were nice and crispy. *Elote: corn on the cob with grated cheese and chili powder($ 4.10) My favorite dish! The corn was sweet and perfectly cooked. *Grilled fish taco: seasonal fresh fish served with tomatillo and pico de gallo salsas, cilantro, cabbage & onions in a corn tortilla($ 5.15) The fish got a little soggy from the trip, but nice flavors. *Camarones taco: grilled tiger prawns with tomatillo and pico de gallo salsas, cilantro, cabbage & onions in a corn tortilla($ 5.15) This was awful. The shrimp were rubbery and just looked old and shriveled. *Carnitas burrito: braised shredded pork rolled in a flour tortilla with pico de gallo & pinto beans($ 8.85), add Guacamole(+$ 1.50) The roommate ordered this. I thought the carnitas were okay. A little dry. *Pescado burrito: Baja style fried fish rolled in a flour tortilla with Baja salsas, cilantro, cabbage & onions($ 9.60) This was way better than the other burrito. The fish was nice and crunchy. Like having a huge fish taco wrapped up in a flour tortilla. If you order through Caviar, they don’t really have much of a markup. Averages about 4% more on Caviar than from what’s listed on Nick’s online menu. It was also great that our driver packed up sides of salsas since I love pouring salsa a whole container per taco. If it wasn’t for the awful Camarones taco, I’d give Nick’s 4 stars. But that was a waste of money and a sorry excuse for a shrimp taco. Next time, I’ll stick to the fish and carne asada tacos. Nick’s way of course! And their delicious elote!

It was my my first time here and my BF’s second, but it’s been years. We walked in through what looked like the main entrance and waited a while to get greeted, but that never happened. There were customers seated there, but no employees in site. We walked out and walked into a smaller, less main entrance looking like door, and it turns out you order at the counter, which is way in the corner. Not being greeted or told what to do was kinda an annoying ordeal, but their food sorta, kinda made up for it. My BF ordered one carne asada taco, one carnitas taco, and a modelo and I ordered their pescado taco, Nick’s way, and nachos to share. My pescado taco was amazing. Fish was perfectly battered and fried and all the fixings were perfectly complemented. My BF also really liked his tacos. Nachos were good, but nothing amazing. I’ll pass on them next time. Another gripe was that the food was kinda expensive. Our bill came out to be $ 34, not sure if it was worth it though. On their website, I saw that there were daily specials, but nothing was advertised at the place.

I tried«Nick’s Way Taco» at the Underdog Taco Shop on Irving and I loved it so much that I was beyond excited for the mouthwatering tacos that I had there. I hate to say it, but the original tacos here… were not that good. *gasp* Maybe I came on a bad day but here’s a brief overview: LOCATION: This place is on Russian hill. street parking is hard, even though there are free residential parking around, it would still be hard to find an open spot. It was also a little confusing to find this place because it is located inside a bar. FOOD: –Nick’s Way Taco:(Basically a regular taco with a crunchy layer + guach) The crunchy layer… was soggy. Now now, I know it’s expected that tacos get soggy after a while but the ones that I had at Underdog was crispy and perfect, while the ones I got here… were not. Save your money and get the regular taco *sigh* –Regular taco: just what you expected. Nothing extraordinary about these but nothing to complain either :) — Elote: Mmmm… drenched in butter goodness. It is a little pricey in comparison to the places that sell these on a cart, but still good regardless. — Chips and Salse: FREE with Unilocal check in. What gets better than free? –Horchata: One word to describe it? Sandy. The whole drink was thick and had the seed mash was not mixed well. SERVICE: Me and my friend was basically ignored by the girl waitresses the whole time, and probably because we weren’t looking to order drinks from the bar. which in my opinion is a little rude. Me and my friend had no seats and was just standing at the table eating(while ignored by the girl waitresses. haha thanks) when out of nowhere the guy worker came and grabbed us some seats. Huge thanks to you and I don’t even know if you’re a waiter!
