Came here for restaurant week! After ordering, and paying for drinks from the bar, we were told because it’s Saturday we couldn’t order from restaurant week menu. Ummmm… we would have went elsewhere UNTIL we met Daniel the manager. Let me back up! The drinks were amazing. But we definitely came for the awesomeness of the restaurant week menu. Our server, Scott, immediately understood our concern and got Daniel. Daniel not only understood our disappointment but ensured the rest of our experience at The Palm House was amazing. We had the scallop cob he appetizer which was yummy, not too acidic and complimented our drinks. The meal… My best friend ordered the Fried Chicken… ummmmm yummmmm. And I ordered the Jerk Chicken Tacos!!! Soooooo glad we decided to not only stay but speak up! I look forward to trying more off their menu!!! Thank you Daniel and Scott, amazing experience and food

Came here a few date nights ago with my boyfriend with the intentions of getting the SF restaurant week course, but ended up disregarding that since we looked at the menu and everything on there sounded way more appetizing! We ordered all of our food(which I wish I had taken pictures of!) and wanted them to come all at the same time so I believe that’s why it it took a little while longer than usual, but I also noticed that the table full of about 8 people were getting their food at separate times than altogether. Other than that, the service was attentive and very friendly. Didnt know what to expect when walking up to the door and if we would get seated since it looked really busy at the bar at the time, but there were dining areas in the middle, the back, as well as the front patio which they had tarps around to keep the rain away and ceiling heaters which were way more nice to have than i expected in SF because of all the rain we were having that week. I loved the atmosphere of having the bird cages on the ceiling and open windows. We were seated outside and on backyard looking dining table for two.

I really enjoyed my experience here. Stopped by for a glass of wine and dinner solo before my commute to Sacramento. Kelsey was a doll and recommended the jerk tacos… bomb! I will def be back for these. Benson, the owner come to find out was lovely made me feel so welcome. Good drinks, awesome food and ESPN on the tube! 5 stars :)

I just ordered delivery from Palm House via UberEats… and it was so good I felt the need to write a review! Do yourself a favor and switch up your normal lunch with their«Pacific Salad with Chicken» some time. It’s spicy, sweet, savory, etc. but most importantly extremely delicious!

Great service, okay food. The manager, wait staff and kitchen have everything together. It was a pleasant dining experience however I wish the food was a bit less of a stew.

Fried chicken sandwich = bomb dot com Cute place to eat brunch. Definitely make a reservation before you go because it’s a popular place. I loved the ambiance. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious. It came with French fries and a mango ketchup that was to die for. All the other food options looked really delicious. I will most likely go back!

So bummed to give this place a bad review but after today, it’s unfortunately a must so that the owners and management of this place are aware. I’ve been here multiple times with great food and service(minus one time finding glass in my cocktail on my 21st birthday, which they fixed and gave comped cocktails). Anyways, today my date and I came in around 2:30pm. After the brunch and lunch rush, before dinner. The front patio had 4 open tables, bar had at least 6 seats and the inside tables in the front were full. We were told awkwardly that the wait servers were stressed and needed a break and she couldn’t seat us. We then said we’d be happy to just sit at any of the available tables and wait 10 minutes. As we stood there waiting for the hostess to come back«asking if that was ok» she said no and it’d be 15 – 20 minute wait. How sad that she was turning away customers with plenty of open tables on a slow late afternoon. Not sure what was going on, but we took our business straight to the Brixton down the road. I’ve been to that Restaraunt when it’s JAMMED packed and this has never happened. Pretty turned off from this experience at such a great Restaraunt.

One of the true jewels of Union Street! Brunch here is awesome. Service is outstanding as virtually every employee helps each other out to take care of the patrons. The flavors of the food on each plate both compliment and contrast each other. This makes for a very good experience. Savory items are truly savory. The simple salad that accompanied my tri-tip sandwich had a sharp taste and texture which went very well with the sandwich. My daughter’s burger was juicy, savory, and very decadent. Their sauces(mango ketchup, cajun aioli, etc.) went perfectly with each dish.

Palm House is usually where I end my night when going out with friends in the Marina/Cow Hollow(yes, I’m a native) area. Why? Because it doesn’t disappoint! The drinks are always good and the music is always fun. I know I’ve sang Backstreet Boys at the top of my lungs here at one time(all right… maybe two) #marinagirlsays #sorrynotsorry However, I truly fell in love with Palm House when one of my best friends was visiting San Francisco and I suggested that we kick off her birthday celebration there! It was a Friday afternoon and I chose coffee as my drink of choice(if you know me, I’m a granny and that is my drink 9 times out of 10). Bottomless coffee? Yes. Palm House, you know me so well. My friend got the Palmade, which was vodka, lemonade, and muddled raspberries. As I looked down at my black coffee, I realized how delicious, yet dangerous, that drink looked and just continued to side-eye the drink enviously. Our table also got the«Spiced Fries» with malt vinegar salt and mango ketchup. If you try one thing from Palm House, try that mango ketchup. One bite and I knew that Palm House was my new favorite. After ravenously feasting on the fries, my friends and I talked to one of the managers about how he needs to market and sell that ketchup. I would put that stuff on everything and I don’t kid when it comes to MANGOKETCHUP. It would beat Sriracha. Did I just say that?

Awesome spot with really cool staff that lowkey feels like a vacation. The most glorious fried chicken sandwich ever with mango chipotle BBQ sauce and aioli. Pro tip: add avocado on the side and put it in ur sandwich. Also, make sure to get the fries with sandwich(ur already having fried chicken anyways, might as well go all out) the fries were real well seasoned nice and crispy(better than most fries). I asked for hot sauce and they brought out a sort of homemade hot sauce that was amazing! Not too spicy, but packed a lot of flavor. Last but not least they brought out(with the hot sauce) a sort of mustard-like sauce that had a subtle curry taste to it that was incredible. I would buy the stuff bottled to take it home if I could. Also got the Bön voyage drink from a recommendation from our waiter. It was nice and strong with Brazilian rum and cognac. ‘Twas a great marina Saturday morning.

Palm House, located along the lively Union Street, is a tropical oasis that combines diverse cuisines with vibrant colors to create a unique dining experience. The menu is influenced by the tropics, but stays true to the Californian flare. From small bites and inventive main dishes, to weekend brunch, Palm House can satisfy any craving of a tropical vacation. They are known for their slushies and giant punch bowls, but the restaurant also offers a wide variety of wines by the bottle and by the glass, as well as handcrafted cocktails. Palm House is led by Executive Chef, Chris Ricketts, and he creates an exceptional vibe through his food. He’s also super friendly and approachable so be sure to say hi if you meet him during your visit to The Palm House. My recent visit to Palm House consisted of pungent flavors, impressive cocktails, and wonderful service. As I was dining with others, we felt the best approach to the diverse menu was to order a variety and share. We ordered the Salmon Lomi Lomi, Little Gems Salad, along with the homemade roti flatbread with the Kahlua Pork Shoulder. For our main dishes, we shared the Grilled Hawaiian Walu and the Free Range Jerk Chicken, which provided an amazing range of flavors. To complete the evening, we shared the Flourless Chocolate Cake topped with bruleed bananas and homemade chocolate ice cream. It was divine. I went into the dinner not sure what to expect and I left feeling very satisfied having enjoyed delicious fresh gourmet tropical inspired food with a California twist to it. Kudos Chef Chris the amazing work! I have to admit… I loved The Palm House so much that I found myself returning to try their infamous happy hour. During that visit I tried the Chipotle Mango Margarita which had a definite spicy punch. There were a few other cocktails enjoyed(for quality assurance of course) and they were all just as yummy as the Mango Margarita. The appetizers were just as delicious as the food I had experienced during my first visit. It is no doubt that I found the entire experience to be quite enjoyable with a lively fun scene and great food and drinks. From the beachy décor to the infamous patio, you can’t go wrong. To make it even more wonderful, the staff at Palm House is extremely friendly and the service will make you want to go back immediately. I highly recommend that you visit Palm House soon. 2032 Union St, San Francisco, CA94123.(415) 400‑4355. Thanks for checking out my post I hope you enjoy dining with The JetSetting Fashionista. Emily

For drinks and atmosphere, this place is cool. I came for my friend’s birthday and we got a private room which was really chill. Our waitress was also great and super friendly. Drinks: Palmade was bomb! Also got one of the punch bowls which is really fun for a group, and not overly sweet like I was expecting. Food: We started with the macadamia nut crusted mac & cheese. It was actually so amazing. The mac and cheese was so creamy and the the macadamia nut crust was perfectly crunch. Soooo good. Then I got the fish tacos… biggest mistake of my life. They were just so bad. They tasted so fishy but also bland. And the ginger slaw was weirdly sweet and just not good. My friend and I had to both return them because they were just so bad. We got more mac & cheese because we knew it was amazing, and the prawns appetizer. Those were pretty good, but honestly the only food that I would come back for is the mac & cheese. Mac & cheese– 5⁄5 Fish Tacos– 0⁄5 Prawns– 3.5÷5 Overall: It’s fun for a birthday party but it’s not amazing food.

Awesome food & awesome service! Came here on a Friday night w/no wait & was plesantly surprised from start to finish DRINKS — I had the Pina Colada, which was refreshing, sweet & not overly strong. It came in a small coconut cup. cute! FOOD — For starters, my friend&I got the Tostones(twice fried plantains, queso fresco, mojo rojo). Delicious & a great start to our meal! The plantains had that crispy breading on the outside yet maintained that soft plantain texture on the inside. The mojo rojo sauce added a spicy kick to it, which I ended up saving later for my main dish. Def recommend trying! For entrée, I had Pacific Cod Tacos. Wow, this was the highlight of the night. The fish was huge! Two big fish tacos packed w/flavors, oh-so juicy & delicious. The kumquat was a unique yet refreshing add-on to the taco as well as the ginger-habanero slaw. Def recommend! SERVICE — very friendly&super attentive, not only from our main server but the others too! At one pt, our entrees took longer than expected, so as an apology, our waiter gave us complimentary assortment of chips(tortilla, plantain, taro), which was really good! That kind of service makes the experience,&he delivered Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. I would def come back here again & would recommend checking this place out!

I was sorely disappointed by this place. Don’t get me wrong, the service and ambiance are both great here, but it was underwelming in nearly every other way. Honestly, I really wanted to like this place. The servers were all really nice, and it has a really cool vibe going on here. But overall it was nothing more than meh. So came here for brunch today. I ordered the Ropa Vieja — rice, shredded beef, two eggs on top with plantain chips. It was recommended to me by the server. The eggs were way over cooked – no runny yolk whatsoever. The meat was cooked well but i did not dig the flavor. Overall, the dish was just not good at all for me. I also ordered a bloody mary. I LOVE bloody mary’s but they do their own version here and I was not into at all. Spicy, but no pepper and had a tropical back flavor to it. Was not digging it. I think the best part of my whole meal was the olive on my blood mary. Oh so sad.

Came here with a couple friends for lunch to catch up on life. While we sat, we actually ended up waiting about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us or brought us water. Not a good sign. Finally, we were able to wave someone down, and a surly waitress took our order. We ended up ordering the burger with fries, the cubano sandwich, and I got the cod tacos. The waitress didn’t actually ask for the meat temperature preference for the burger, but we at least assumed it would just be medium rare, but the burger came out mostly blood red, with a slight sear on the outside. Another red flag(no pun intended). My friend asked to get it replaced, but it took a very long time for it to come back out, and the staff was hardly apologetic about it. The cubano was very good, and came with a small side salad of arugula. My cod tacos were actually very delicious and well-made, but at only 2 tacos for $ 14, not a very good value. The food and drinks here are actually decent, but the service is just plain bad, and they don’t have a good attitude. It’s one thing if the waitstaff is honestly trying their hardest(or gives off the impression of trying) and failing, but it’s another if they’re not even putting the effort in in the first place. I would go elsewhere for lunch, since there are so many options in the area. Perhaps the dinner service is better, but I wouldn’t risk it.

Oh my goodness, the fresh & authentic«tropical inspired» cuisine at Palm House is absolutely terrific! My friend and I started with the Ahi Tuna Ceviche. This is a serious must! The sauce was so delicious that I literally wanted to drink it! This wonderful dish was full of fresh flavors like mango, ginger & scallions and was served with light and airy crispy wontons for dipping. It made the perfect starter! For my entrée, I ordered the Free Range Jerk Chicken {…has the perfect amount of kick!} served over black eyed pea ragout, braised collard greens and jerk jus. It was literally heaven… and healthy too! I can’t wait to come back the next time that I visit SF!

We ordered the Ropa Vieja and the Pork Hash, both were delicious! This place is great because their brunch dishes stand out from the typical«brunch» places in SF(i.e., places that just serve a twist on the American breakfast of eggs and bacon). The dishes here are unique and tasty. The atmosphere isn’t great because it’s like a frat house inside. Very noisy, boisterous, and loud. The service is a bit slow and apathetic(not that friendly). But location is convenient and it’s nice to sit outside on a sunny day.

My friend and I ate here on a Sunday morning at 10:30 for brunch. I’m used to very busy brunch places(Pink Elephant, Bisou, etc.) so I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty. We grabbed a cute table outside and ordered the Kalua pork hash and Tahitian vanilla waffle to share. The hash was amazing. Pork was tender, eggs were satisfyingly gooey, and arugula was fresh. The pineapple chunks(there were only 4 total though) were a nice touch. The waffle was crispy and rich, with warm carmelized banana chunks on top. The maple-rum syrup was delicious(and not in an artificial way) as well. Y-U-M! Portions were decently sized — not huge. The staff here was ultra friendly. Coupled with the cute and quiet atmosphere, plus an absolutely beautiful sunny day, this was definitely my favorite meal of the weekend. If I’m ever headed all the way to the Marina again, I’ll certainly be back.

Kale salad is A-Ok. The cashews are flavored but I didnt get much out of them so I picked them out. The rest was just a kale salad, not much more I can say. The mac and cheese topped w/crushed macadamia nuts lightly baked was good. Very decadent, wish there was a hint of cheddar flavor, but still delicious. Great portion size, nice compliment to the healthy salad.

5 stars. Yes, I did. Started off with the Puerto Rican smashed avocado. It tasted decently fresh, but it wasn’t made fresh for our table. You feel me on this, I know you do. How hard is it to make it fresh, as in really fresh? I wasn’t expecting much after this… And then, my mind was blown. Allow me the explain how five stars happened. We shared the little gems salad. Damn yo, nuts, avocados, picked onions, romaine, tangerine slices, spicy dressing. Lit my mauf on fire. In the best of ways. Things started looking up. Next we shared the spicy fries with mango ketchup. That mango ketchup. Say my name. So good, I felt like a sinner, eating dessert before my meal. For my entrée I had the macadamia crusted mac and cheese. Creamy goodness finished off with golden, crunch macadamia action. Guhhhh-wowww. I also had the sweet plantains with queso fresco. Like tiny clouds of caramelized banana heaven. Can’t wait to go back for their brunch!
