I love this place. My group of friends went here for happy hours and had a good time. We had great service! The waitress was really helpful letting us select good wine. The food was healthy and delicious. We didn’t have any main courses but had five or six appetizers to share! All of them tasted really good. The desserts was yummy too. The Alcyone sparking wine is a perfect finish! Ambiance was perfect for great conversation… at least I think it was great. I was a little tipsy by then.

Wine was good– props to the waitress for pairing it w/our food! Food is ok though, it’s mostly basic greek-style, I feel like it could be made at home, so I wasn’t too thrilled. We got one of the entrees, and both veggie and meat paninis… food I’d rather order in a café, not a wine bar… but the focus is on wine here and that was a success!

Nice little place, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. My friend and I took a seat at the bar, so we could chat and have a glass of wine. They had a long list of wine, which I was pretty impressed by. While sitting there I noticed a tiny mouse scurry into the food prep area under the counter. Eeekkk! A few people at a nearby table also noticed. I brought it up to a nearby waiter who was doubted me but checked anyway. He came back and asked if I was sure, I pointed at the other table and they agreed. I looked in the direction it came from and noticed they left the back door open. I would have gone back for the ambiance and wine, but I just can’t mess with mice.

Bright red and yellow walls Retro bar stools A quirky non-hipster vibe. An awful mariachi singer A sweet glass of bubbly And a caramelly muscat. Red wine blends A warm Thursday night And two friends Catching up. Hatred for skinny jeans on men Love for a six foot guy named Em And revelations of Growing up. Overanalysis and hilarity In the de rigueur retelling of Dating escapades. «She taped my show.» «He emailed me that song.» «She texted me good luck.» «He surprised me with roses.» «She calms me down.» «He always lifts me up.» Cautious optimism Perhaps we shall see A future double date?

I’m reading all of these mixed reviews like, «what?» Whomever mentioned that life is about timing could be dead on the money, because I was totally into this place last night. Soooo Mission, sooooo me. One caveat about my review though: My take on Parea could be a little skewed. I was only there for desserts + wine on the late tip. I’m sure you agree that late night + desserts is rarely a bad thing. So yes, timing may lend some bias… As soon as we walked in, the live music was just ending. Oh well. First thing I noticed was that huge chalkboard menu. My kinda place – simple, straightforward, cozy, and colors! The staff was super friendly and totally attentive, and what did our waiter recommend? Chocolate truffles and Pott de Crème. OMG, PUREHEAVEN. Wine was flowing too, but those desserts just won my little heart. I’ll surely be back and then I’ll give you the scoop on the food. Deal?!

I’ve been to Parea a couple of times, but I’ve never had the food. Therefore, this review is just a general review of the place. Pros: — Nice décor, one wall is a chalkboard with the menu on it — Staff is friendly — A good place to have a conversation and wine Cons: — Could have a better selection of wine — Some of the seats and tables are not great for taller people(5’8″ or more)

Nice, small restaurant to grab a glass of wine and some small plates like Hummus and vegetables. This is a fun little space to eat while watching/listening to a local musician playing his/her guitar and other various instruments. this spot is good for a meeting place with friends to catch up or a quaint date with no expectations. It’s always a bit packed so make sure to be patient and a table will open up for you in no time.
