My second time to Parkside Tavern to accompany my cousin so he can have some grub, He had the kale salad and potato skins, I had a Black & Tan beer and a Bottingtons, Both delicious beers, The potato skins were fantastic, I just wish the portions were larger. Nile, the bartender is always inviting and a very congenial gent who couldn’t be a better bartender to his patrons.

I’ve only been here for brunch, and it was alright. I’ve had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and the breakfast burger. Both were alright, but nothing great. I’ve also tried the huevos tavernos and french toast, both of which were rather bland.

Walking in on an early Saturday evening, Parkside Taverns had a good-sized crowd. Most tables seemed to have filled up, though they have a pretty small, quaint space. There was no waiting list yet when we arrived, but we opted to sit at the bar anyway. The bartender gave us immediate attention and was very friendly and welcoming. He offered us menus and happily retrieved them once learning we just wanted this to be a «let’s-pound-a-shot-or-two» sort of stop. The drive to SF was about an hour, so I had to go to the bathroom shortly after I arrived. The bathroom was surprisingly very well-kept for a bar/restaurant. There is only one room each for the men and women, but the wait was fairly short. By the time I got out of the bathroom, my boyfriend already picked up the tab and we were on our way within 10 minutes. Our choice of poison that night: — Two large shots of Jameson Price: — $ 7.50/drink + tip 5STARS for bartender with the lovely personality and his welcoming service. 5STARS for efficiency 5STARS for being a nice, quiet quaint little restaurant bar Will definitely be back when in the area!

Sunday brunch was phenomenal! We were seated immediately and wait staff was very attentive. They also went out of their way to make sure we were accommodated. The French toast was a slab of cinnamon heaven. The fruit side chosen was an incredible compliment. The bubbly and OJ was also delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Rachel, our server, went above and beyond for us. If I were from the city I would definitely be visiting regularly for brunch. Don’t mess around, get the French toast.

Dive bar with an amazing atmosphere and a old-timey saloon feel to it. The items on the menu hold a hint of Ireland, but are also a bit pricey. Regardless, on a warm beach day, this is definitely a great hangout spoke for drinks, friends, and food. It gets busy, but service is good! My only downside is that I asked if I could get a booth once and the server said it was for a larger group, but then an old employee came in and she let them have it. The event that transpired is great for employee relations, not so much for customer relations. Please don’t do that again in front of customers.

Brunch is decent but for the price I was hoping for bigger portions. I’m all about value for money but also paying for what you get. But dropping an Andrew Franklin on 2 eggs, a scant of diced potatoes, one slice of tomato, 2 slices of ham/bacon, and Irish bread(a tad dry) is really not going to convince me to come back again. I came. I saw. I conquered. 3 stars for the nice waitress and the nice vibe and décor of the place.

Parkside Tavern is one of the best spots in the sunset. Old school, SF native joint w the dark wood & brass fixtures. Sports bar meets pub meets restaurant. It’s like a cross between Harry’s on Fillmore & the old WASHBAG(Washington Square Bar & Grill, which is now The Square). But my meals here so far have been pretty mediocre. The menu is solid, w a mix of standards & not so standard. There’s a Thai curry chicken dish w rice, curry chicken satay bites, & fish tacos. But I feel the standards are best, & where they should focus. Turkey chili nachos sounded interesting, but I went w the chipotle burger. My man went w the ribs. The burger had some kick, w peppers ground into the meat. Props for this. The flavors were strong, but I asked for it to be cooked medium, & it was definitely well done. The bun was so over toasted that it cracked when I sliced it in half. My steak fries were overcooked. The ribs were the superior dish, tasty & fall off the bone tender, w a zesty sauce. And my man’s steak fries were cooked better than mine, except a few were undercooked. It was a full house. We waited over 20 minutes for our order. But I understand this happening when the kitchen is backed up. Our waiter was a gem. And I like the vibe a lot. They’re obviously well organized; they have all their Christmas decorations up already. It looks beautiful. A great & classic spot. But food is hit or miss. 3& ½ stars.

The first Irish people I knew were in elementary school. One of my classmates was so excited to bring homemade soda bread to share with the class. Uhh that’s cool and all sista, but where’s the rest of the platter? Didn’t she know I needed #demgrilledtomatoesdoe & eggs & meats & stuff? (^_^) Tavern Irish Breakfast $ 15( ) Top o’ the mornin’! (^_^) Iced Tea $?( ) No surprise. (^_^) Music $ 0 Throwback city. (^_^) Workers w Irish Accents $ 0 Can’t get enough. (-_-) Black Pudding $ 2( ) Whatev. Nowadays, I don’t think I know any Irish people… which is why I can’t just sit at school desks and be handed Irish food — I have to actually go to restaurants. #sigh #firstirishproblems #canitbethatitwasallsosimplethen

I came here half a year ago and recently, and the portions noticeably shrunk :((Thanks to my food porn obsession and the extra 16GB memory card on my phone, my before and after pictures confirmed my suspicions… insert look of disapproval. Huevos Tavernos($ 14.95, 2 eggs, black beans, Spanish rice, avocado, pico de gallo, cilantro cream, served in a cazuela with tortilla chips): Besides the artsy cazuela presentation, I feel like this is something you could get for half the price at a taqueria or make by yourself without much fuss.(Also, this used to be a big hearty breakfast wrap but it’s now a small dish. Dat cazuela…) Stuffed French Toast($ 12.95, lemon mascarpone cheese filling, fresh berries, Vermont maple syrup): Among the better French toasts I’ve had, very delicious and indulgent with the custard filling. But the portions decreased from 2 pieces to 1 piece D: Tavern Cobb Salad($ 8 small, grilled chicken, bacon, tomato, boiled egg, avocado, Blue cheese, mixed greens, blue cheese dressing): The one thing that didn’t shrink! I like this salad, it’s filling and the ingredients are fresh. The small is sufficient because there are so many toppings. However I suggest asking for dressing on the sides because it tends to be saucy. Overall the food is not bad, but it was pricey to begin with and the shrunken portions don’t help. Ambiance is clean but not particularly memorable, nor is the presentation.(Pricey brunch is partially justified when it gets you 50 likes on Instagram). A primary reason I come to Parkside Tavern is that parking is relatively easy around this area – other than that, I prefer Crepevine for a satisfying and less costly brunch when I’m not splurging on aristocratic SF brunch like Serpentine or Cassava.

Evening hours at the bar This bar is very mellow and relaxing. But then again I did come on a Monday evening… There’s bar seating and booth seating; my friends are I decided to sit at the booths since there was more space and we could see one another. Drinks were only $ 5 o__o! I’m not sure if the Caucasian bartender with a very cute accent was hooking it up, or that’s really their pricing! The rum and coke was made well — I barely tasted the alcohol, but knew it was pretty strong after having 2 glasses. You can’t really miss the place; there’s random street parking around the area. I would definitely come back! Definitely gotta try the brunch =]

Came here for Sunday breakfast with a local, and I totally agree with that previous Unilocaler who said IRISHIRISHIRISH. Y’all might be thinking that I’m crazy for grabbing brunch at an Irish bar. Well, I thought so too… plus Parkside is in the middle of no where! BUT their brunch was pretty yummy. We split their famous lemon french toast(comes with fruit) and added on sides of potatoes and scrambled eggs. The sides are at elevated prices for such small portions, but that’s SF I guess. Their french toast. OMG, drool. YES. I vote for that hands down! BUT I wouldn’t place orders for any of their sides because they’re ordinary. However, we needed some salty foods to balance out our sweet entrée. I want to shoutout to our homegirl server who was smiley in appropriate amounts. She wasn’t annoying or overly friendly on this crisp weekend morning, and service was ONPOINT, especially the water guy who kept on refilling like a boss. As a server myself, I think the breakfast crew was pretty laid-back, but super responsive and courteous. I wasn’t too fond of the bar smell that is pretty strong, but you get used to it after staying inside longer. The restrooms are very accessible and clean, and we enjoyed eating our brunch inside their dining area(sort of blocked off from the main bar). The crowd wasn’t diverse at all – mainly white folks, and there was a range of families to couples to reunions. I wonder what their bar ambiance is like, but their breakfast is definitely a two thumbs up!

I wasn’t really impressed with this place… maybe because I didn’t come here for brunch? I originally had this placed bookmarked for months because of the compelling reviews of this place for brunch — which I completely intended coming here for — but we came here during their dinner time and the experience overall was meh. Parking around in this area is not too bad and when we arrived, the place was not packed at all. The lady who seated us and took our orders seemed in a rush to take our orders and leave. The décor is nice and the selection of whiskey were wide. My boyfriend and I ordered half dozen oysters and the tempura fried asparagus from their Happy Hour deal. We each also had a glass of wine, and right off the bat, you can tell the wine glasses were NOT clean… I just wiped if off though. The oysters were okay and the tempura fried asparagus were just okay too. The oysters didn’t have much of a taste. We debated on whether to get dinner here and decided to go somewhere else. I would love to come back for brunch and see that changes anything.

My most recent visit to Parkside Tavern for brunch knocked my Unilocal rating down a notch. Our party of 4 ordered more than enough food to go around but for the quality, I didn’t feel like we got good value. Also, the waitress forgot to put in one of the entrees so when everyone else’s dish arrived, one of our friends was sitting there wondering where his food was. The waitress apologized but didn’t do anything to comp us or make up for the matter. I have experienced much better customer service elsewhere. Since everyone on Unilocal raved about the stuffed french toast, we ordered it for the table to share. It was decadent as everyone says and reminiscent of a very custardy bread pudding. We didn’t even have to pour the syrup on top since the lemon marscapone filling was already quite sweet. It’s a very filling dish and I couldn’t imagine being able to finish more than half an order on my own without feeling guilty about the high calorie intake. I decided to order the Kid’s size burger which came with a 1⁄3 lb. beef patty. I subed side salad in place of fries. For a pub burger, I was very disappointed. The patty was dry even though I had ordered medium and didn’t taste seasoned at all. They do not accommodate for a smaller bun since the patty is smaller so you have a disproportionate burger. The other half ordered the Tavern Brunch Burger and was also disappointing. He said they mixed in too much chopped chipotle peppers in the beef patty and it overpowered the entire taste. For someone who loves spicy foods and to dislike this burger is saying a lot. Generally, burgers are expected to be one of the best items on a pub menu, but at PT it is not. Friends also ordered Tavern Cobb Salad and Tavern Irish Breakfast. Their dishes seemed pretty average. The portions were sufficient. I would agree with some other Unilocalers that the food is a bit expensive for what you get. Our total tab was $ 75. I wouldn’t go back for the burger but I would go back for a brew/snack while watching a game.

The bf and I tried this place around 11 on a Sunday. Was so worried about a wait but there was none! Happy to be seated right away.(However when we left around 12 it was jam packed!) Bf got the Beer Battered Fish and Chips and I got the Stuffed French Toast. Stuffed French Toast was huge and I could barely finish one slice. Each slice had to be equivalent to like 2 – 3 slices of bread! I was worried about the lemon flavor inside but it was a nice hint of lemon flavor and really enjoyed it. If the idea of a taste of lemon makes you cringe, maybe you won’t like it. But if you don’t mind it, you’ll probably like it! The Beer Battered Fish and Chips were moist and I enjoyed it with the tartar sauce but my bf said it was a little plain. And it kind of was – didn’t really see any seasoning on it or anything and doesn’t have any taste of beer. Although the fish and chips weren’t amazing, we’d be down to come back to try a burger or salmon lox! :)

We woke up on a lazy Sunday wanting brunch, but not wanting to wait for brunch. Conundrum. First, we decided first to venture out of our typical brunch hoods to mix it up. Second, we decided we did not want to do pretension.(We almost never want to do pretension, but we will suffer through it if the food is stellar.) Just to give y’all a hand, note that there are several different restaurant/bars with Park and/or Tavern and/or Chalet in the establishment name in SF. It can be confusing – especially when you were, um, not on your best behavior the night before. We chose Parkside Tavern because we were interested in the unlimited Bloody Marys and Mimosas Unilocalers were raving about, and we liked the relaxed look of the restaurant and bar. Plus, my boyfriend and I are fond of Irish fare(as well as German fare, Italian fare, Chinese fare, Japanese fare, Indian fare – all of the fare). We walked in and were able to be immediately seated at the bar or bar tables, or we could wait a few minutes for a table. We decided to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while we waited for a table. For him: Bloody Mary(unmodified), and for me, Magner’s Cider. Of course, Magner’s is NEVER a miss. But the Bloody Mary was impressive — tops in my book — we usually have to modify the bejesus out of a BM because it is never spicy enough. This one was perfect. After a small misunderstanding with the seating situation(the host forgot about us, I think), we were sat at a nice table in the front room. I was pleased because although they have a huge overflow room in the back, I do not want to sit in it. I like to be up front where the action is. Action indeed — there are many large televisions with sports ball on — Note to Self: Come back here for baseball season, basketball season, and football season. I ordered the Fish ‘n’ Chips, and for him, the Irish Breakfast with Irish Bacon. The Fish ‘n’ Chips was phenomenal — the batter on the fish was flavorful and light — well seasoned with salt and pepper. The fish itself was perfectly fried — I hate when it’s mushy and translucent on the inside. My boyfriend was going APE over the tartar sauce — it’s house made and has a nice lemon tang. The only problem was that there wasn’t enough of it. The steak cut fries were good — salty and cooked nicely — crispy and crunchy on the outside. My boyfriend’s dish was likewise good — served with Irish bacon and Irish sausage. I liked the homemade soda bread it was served with. Clearly, however, my dish was the clear winner. He has been talking about that dish and the tarter ever since. The service is great and authentic. Most of the staff is Irish. Our server spent a lot of time assisting my boyfriend with removing the cocktail onion from the bottom of his Bloody Mary – she had a great sense of humor. I also want to note that previous Unilocal reviews refer to unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys. This is not an option at PT. You can order a bottle of Prosecco and carafe of orange juice for $ 25, but there is no unlimited option. No big deal. The ambiance is relaxed and fun — a friendly neighborhood pub. You can definitely wear your yoga pants here — no biggie. This is a welcome change from many of the«scenester» brunch places. No waitlist, delicious food, delicious cocktails, friendly service, reasonable prices, full bar? All of the above make this a «YESPLEASE.» Cheers!

Came here on a random weekday with some friends for dinner and we were seated immediately. We started with some appetizers — calamari, oysters, nachos. Everything was really good. I liked how fresh and lightly battered the calamari was! For drinks, I had a couple of moscow mules which were refreshing. For my entrée, I went with the bangers and mash. It was a pretty decent portion for the price, I barely finished everything. The staff was super friendly and even asked if we wanted more gravy for my mashed potatoes and for my friend’s entrée. It’s a very chill bar with some really decent pub grub. I’d definitely come back when I am in the neighborhood!

Cool neighborhood bar with good amount of TVs for weekend football games! It’s spacious and inviting with its woody furniture, Irish pennants, and old pictures of San Francisco. The food is decent, mimosas and bloody Marys are delicious! I love my Bloody Marys with pickled stuff in it and the ones they serve here has em all included a pickled asparagus and pearl onion. The brunch menu is very good, they have the usual eggs, bacon, pancakes and such. Their Eggs Benedict are also delicious. You can opt for their lunch menu as well. I like their Caesar salads, fresh hand leafed romaine lettuce, super crunchy and comes with anchovies. Mmmmm! Yum! The service is good, it can get busy here sometimes so come a little earlier before the game to grab a seat and a drink!
