So, a little four-star review here to counteract some of the one-stars. I stop here frequently to get take-out dinner on my way to the pottery studio. This is a $ 5 fish & chips place. It’s grungy, it’s low-end, it’s someplace to keep your smart phone in your pocket, and most of all it is anti-health-food. The only thing they serve which isn’t fried is the deli salads, and those all have mayonnaise in them. On the other hand: if you’re in the mood to get completely stuffed on fried fish and vegetables for less than $ 10, this is your place. They even have a selection of 7 different kinds of fish. The guys are polite, and they’re pretty fast on a take-out order. Get hot sauce.

where to start? ok i ordered delivery from eat24. delivery should be 30−45mins.took 2hrs &25mins. i ordered from this place once before. and the chicken was“nt bad. sorry to say it’s gone down hill. i ordered 5 thighs($ 9.99), 5wings($ 8.49)and a side of mac&cheese($ 2.49). the thighs are large. and that’s because of the way to crunchy thick skin. that i had to peel off, before i could get to the meat. the skin was was way over salted. when i got to the meat it had a funny taste, i can’t put me finger on it. even after i put hot sauce on it. ate one piece, had to throw the rest away. the wings were a little better. they were cooked right.the skin was nice and golden. but they also had a funny taste. and were over salted. oh, the wings were large also. had to throw them out to. now, on the flip side the mac&cheese was pretty good!i wish it could have been a bigger portion. will not be ordering from here again.3 stars for mac&cheese, 1 star for the chicken.

This place is pretty good, they had some problems when they first opened but have been open long enough now and are doing way better. I have ordered from here like 5 times. There corn nuggets are amazing. I noticed in some of the meals, the quantity is lacking but it is so good. I sometimes order a lot of sides, you get a lot of food for a good deal, there menu is pretty big with lots of varieties… This place is overall pretty good and I will be going back.

I stopped in at this place on a walk through the Tenderloin a few weeks ago, and got 2 pieces of chicken. I’m a thigh man in every way. The thighs were fried just right and they were huge. Although there was no one else in the place, it took over 15 minutes for them to provide this simple order. The man at the counter, who appeared to be in charge, seemed confused and astounded that I was ordering food. I’m a ordinary looking man, so I don’t understand the reaction. I’ve probably seen too much TV, but it seemed like maybe there was another business going on at Pesbas. A front for something? I don’t know. They sure didn’t know about the restaurant business. I agree with the other reviewer that said that the food supplies are probably purchased at a retail establishment. It’s very amateurish take out restaurant. Judging from the large size of the thighs, I’m guessing they get their food from Costco. Since I liked the chicken on my first visit, I stopped in again yesterday at about 12:15 pm. OVERCHARGED: The chalkboard outside said 2 thighs for $ 3.00. I ordered 4 to go and was charged $ 6.50. After I realized that I had been overcharged, I thought, «That’s your tip, mister cashier.» I would have given him a buck or two otherwise. I was in no mood to deal with it yesterday, so I just let it lie. TOOK A LONGTIME: It took at least 25 minutes for me to receive my simple order of 4 pieces of chicken. At least. I stood outside the door for part of that time, and I wouldn’t recommend that at night(or anytime) in that part of the neighborhood. A lot of crazy, dirty people around 393 Eddy Street who ain’t putting up with anything from anybody, real or imagined. As I said, I wasn’t in the mood to deal with crap, so I waited the entire 25 minutes(at least) without squawking. Both of my visits involved long waiting times. FRANKENCHICKEN: My order FINALLY came, and I dashed home to enjoy me some fried chicken. Boy, was I disappointed. The pieces I received were mostly driftwood-like salty breading, and the chicken pieces were not thighs. They weren’t even legitimate pieces of chicken. The cook had assembled 4 pieces of chicken from scraps. Glued them together with breading. I had a huge mound of breading left over on my plate after eating the chicken, which was the equivalent of the amount of chicken you would get from about 4 little wings. As I said, they had a chalkboard outside that advertised thighs. Instead of of just telling me that they were out of thighs, they gave me breaded scraps just to get me out the door. I don’t live near the place so instead of going back to the joint and dealing with it, I decided to write this review.(pardon the pun, but I was a chicken yesterday). This is not a revenge review. It is a true review of 2 visits to the place. WAITTIME/DISORGANIZATION: As stated above, my wait time for two visits was unreasonably long. After I placed my order yesterday, two men came in and ordered food to «dine in» as they call it. One guys food came and the other guys food didn’t come until about 15 minutes later. And there were no other customers besides me. Out of politeness, the one guy waited until his friends food came, so the first guy’s food was cold by the time he ate it. BEWARE: I should have known better than to get food at this place. No slaw. Look at me when I tell you this: Never order fried chicken in a place that doesn’t serve slaw. You have to trust me on this. I don’t know much, but I know chicken. I thought, at first, that I had maybe discovered a good restaurant in the T-Loin, but I had really discovered a hole in the wall run by people who have no idea on how to run an eating establishment.
