Pete I applaud your quite rational response to an irate customer. I can’t imagine my beer preferences are going to make the tap list at Pete’s. I’m the first one to agree that a business owner has to cater to local tastes. Unfortunately for me IPAs, other blonde ales, pilsners, and lagers seem to be trending among bar crowds. I dislike hoppy beers. I drink Newcastle brown, Smithwicks, Sierra Nevada, sometimes Killians Red, Bass, various ambers or coppers, and local beers darker than blonde. What shocked me about your beer menu was finding an entire menu without a brown or true amber in SF, the home of Anchor Steam.

Came here for drinks and a bit of food. They have seating and a full menu. Has a nice cozy feeling. It’s right across from ATT park, which is really close to the caltrain station. If there’s a game going on that day, I wouldn’t suggest you drive. There’s a lot of traffic, and the meters go for $ 7/hour. The service was great. I had no issues getting drinks from the bar. Our server gave us some Warriors swag too(the Finals were playing on their tv’s).

I get that it was game night, but if I’m on a barstool at the center of the bar I should be able to make eye contact with and order from one of the ¾ bartenders within a half an hour, right?

Great place to watch the game! Plenty of seating, televisions and a great atmosphere overall. In terms of food, the Buffalo chicken Cobb salad was amazing as were the garlic curly fries. Average selection of beers and cocktails as well. Even though it was very busy last night, our waitress was very attentive and we always had enough to eat and drink.

Lots of TVs, big downstairs bar with good selection of beer and spirits. Upstairs has a smaller bar but it’s a bit more intimate, easier to get a table. Don’t expect table service though. Husband and I sat at a table upstairs for 20 min and no one came by to ask us for drinks or food orders, you have to nudge your way to the bar to order.

This place has so many seats and so many TVs. The entire place was packed when I came so we opted to sit on the top floor overlooking the bottom area. This was nice because it was roomier and quieter, and had fast access to the elevator that went straight to the restroom. Used the Unilocal checkin deal to get 50% off the garlic fries and they were absolutely delicious. The western burger has large portion size, but it tasted alright and was quite expensive. Ultimately, I love the layout and feel of the place and would definitely come back to cheer on the Warriors!

A group of us went here before a Giants day game. We sat upstairs, where you put your order in with the bartender. One of us ordered a pint of beer… I guess they were out of pint glasses because it came in a 12 ounce plastic cup(eyeballing it). Aside from the tacky factor, he got jipped out of beer… he was charged full price! People sitting at the table next to us got full pint glasses. I don’t know what made them special, but they actually got what they paid for. But enough about the drinks… I care about the food. I ordered a western burger with fries. I was the 5th out of six people to order and my food came out last. It wasn’t even closer se. Everyone else was literally taking their last bites when my food came out. It took 25 minutes to get my food… I know this because my phone tells me when my credit card was charged and my food came out 25 minutes after my card was charged. And the fries/burger were a shade above lukewarm so I know the cooks weren’t the holdup. It’s not like the place was really crowded either. And when they finally brought me my food, they kind of just threw it in front of me and then literally took a couple of empty plates away. There was no apology for the delay, no acknowledgement that everyone was already done when I was just starting, just«Here you go.» The burger was decent, but it was tiny. Eyeballing it, it was probably a quarter pound of beef. Definitely not worth the $ 18 and change before tip with no drink. I never thought I would say it, but you can save money by buying food across the street at AT&T Park… and the food tastes just as good and even with the worst lines, you don’t have to wait 25 minutes for your food. Good thing they had me tip before the horrendous wait and measly portions. I won’t be back.

It would have been four stars for delicious garlic fries, tons of TVs and sports memorabilia, a great array of beer, and mostly good service. Except I was watching Game 4 of the Celtics-Hawks series… which was on every screen… on mute. I asked a bartender if he could put on the audio(the Giants game was well over at this point, and the only thing playing was typical bar music). His manager flat-out refused. So I watched my team win in OT and supplied the noise myself, along with quite a few other patrons who enjoyed the game regardless. Maybe the manager thought it was funny, maybe the manager hates Boston and all its sports teams. Still qualified as crappy service.

BESTGARLICCURLYFRIES I have ever had! Would get 10⁄10 times! MUSTTRY!!! Great prices and selection on pitchers of craft beer. They have the cheap domestic beer if that floats your boat. Service was good, even when it was packed we could get their attention. THEYHAVEALLTHEBAYAREAGAMESONALLTHETIMES, GIANTS, WARRIORSETC. Good place to watch the game, right across the street from AT&T Park. Lots of Giants fans will roll by after the Giants game. 50% off Garlic Curly Fries with check-in!

Great spot to watch ALL the sports you want. Especially Bay Area teams. But they do show other games. Big Screen TV’s and projectors everywhere you look. Place can get packed. They make some GREAT Bacon sliders, drinks are good. Bartenders took really good care of me. Service and the ambiance is on-point. Looking forward to my next hangout session here.

Just went to Pete’s Tavern to watch a wild card game. I had very low expectations for the food and was pleasantly surprised. The pulled chicken sandwich was delicious, fries were crunchy and not oily and the grilled chicken sandwich also had great flavor. Service was super attentive and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Will definitely be back for next week’s games.

We were in town looking for a sports bar to watch Sunday Football and came across this place. First of all, LOVE the atmosphere. There are tons of TVs. If you’re looking to watch sports, this is your place. They had great drink deals for $ 5. Also, the chorrizo nachos were amazing. Lastly, I can’t say enough great things about the staff. They were so friendly and it was fun to talk football with them. Will definitely be back again!

Service was a’ight. I think there was a shift change, as the original guy disappeared, and we flagged down a server who took care of us from then on. She was great, but we sat for quite awhile twiddling our thumbs until someone close around. Had 8-piece wings and two burgers. Wings were AWESOME. Just simple hot wings. 10⁄10 would eat again. Burgers we could have done without. Dry, no flavor. The onion rings seemed pre-made. Hard, scorched, wouldn’t do either again.

Edit* they set us up in our own location with sound! You rock! Thanks for taking the time to set us up! On the biggest college football day of the year instead of putting the game day game on they put Stanford who is barely ranked. No chance of them doing anything!

Was really disappointed as a neighbor that Pedro’s has inconsistent hours next door. Ended up next door, same owner. Amazing food and drinks. Afterthought to the bartender although we ran up quite a tab for him. Too bad. Gonna give it another try though so maybe they’ll heed the advice on service. Came again on the night the manager posted. Had a great experience with the two female bartenders! Must better.

Stopped by tonight for a cold one and some garlic fries with my spouse. Very crowded due to Billy Joel concert tonight, so we excused the slow service. However, the fries came out approx 15 minutes before the beers, and were almost gone by the time we had any liquid(no offer of water). What really got me was that the menu referred to their drafts as «pints», and what was(eventually) brought out were beers in very small plastic cups — clearly not a pint. We were charged the full $ 8 for these petite tastings, and when I inquired of the waitress, her response was(seriously!), «our pints are only 14 ounces». First of all, a pint is a pint. Second, we were not even given 14 ounces. So we walked up the street to the 21st Amendment and ordered two proper pints of even better beer and were charged $ 6 each. The moral of the story? Go straight to the 21st Amendment, and pass right by «shady Pete’s». Honestly, saying they pour a 14 ounce pint is like going to the gas station and finding out their $ 3.00/gallon price only gets you 3 quarts, because that’s «their gallon»! Pete’s is a rip off. Now I get they have a great location across from AT&T Park, and people will go there even if they are ripped off, but I hope this story will make just a few people go elsewhere.

So I came here with friends before the Giants game. Our waitress was awesome so on top of her game making sure we had what we wanted. Drinks were great, enjoyed the«El Gigante«without the coronita, was so yummy. My husband and I split the chicken taquito appetizer, this is my only complaint. Way over fried and just fell to pieces when I tried to eat it. So would not order this again or recommend it !! Other than that had great service and drinks even though the place got really busy!

Despite it being game day as well as a full house at lunch, we were seated quickly and served almost immediately. I ordered the Mac and cheese w/ham. It was great but I should have substituted it with bacon instead since bacon is almighty. Our waitress was quick, prompt, friendly and made some great recommendations on the drag beer. We’ll be back next game day.

Hung out here before a Giants game. I didn’t eat the food but it looked like your typical bar food. The service was slow but that was expected since it was slammed pre-game. There was also a Warriors playoff game. Not being from the area I enjoyed the vibe and the selection of beers they had. I would say it’s a great place to pre-game at!

A Duke game at Pete’s Tavern is a sight to behold. Blue everywhere! Last Monday, I met up with a small group of friends. Two of them are Duke alumni. I arrived around 6pm and headed straight upstairs. It was already packed as there was no free table to be seen. Waited in line for a pitcher of beer and ended up standing while using the corner of someone’s table as an area to set down our beers. They were nice about sharing their space. It was a great game as everyone was on the edge of their seats until the end. You could feel the ups and downs of the crowd as the game went on. As the last seconds came to a close, the whole room roared! Strangers high fiving each other and screaming victory. Lots of joyous fans in the room. I’m sure there are cell phone videos out there of the crowd reaction. So how did I feel? I’m not a Duke alumni nor do I really follow the NCAA. But it was fun watching the crowd from time to time. Being the person that loves a chill bar, I had to take breaks and go downstairs for fresh air. It got really hot and steamy with the crowded bar. There’s a row of seats in the front entryway that stayed empty basically the whole evening. I’d sit down and take a break there throughout the night. Definitely a fun bar if you’re into celebrating with a lot of fellow fans. But me? I’d rather be comfy and find a more low key bar to watch a game.

Great place to watch sports with a variety of bar food and beer. Came here after work for happy hour and it really hit the spot. The bartender was very alert and came by whenever our glasses were empty. The wings we ordered were amazing(we even got an accidental extra wing ;P). The chicken was tender and coated in a strong sauce. I can imagine how packed this place can get on game days. Definitely would come back here — very friendly and perfect for after-work or weekend drinks. Ambiance: 4⁄5 Food: 5⁄5 Service: 5⁄5 Overall Experience: 5⁄5

GOGIANTS!!! First time here in all the years I’ve been an SF fan… I was visiting for the World Series and my friends are regulars here — so obviously this was the place to be. Came around 1−2pm each day during the WS and was able to get in, no line(or minimal line) and get a table after some stalking. Despite being as crazy as it was… our service(from Brittney, the red/orange hair hot chick) was amazing. The food was also delicious… garlic curly fries are a MUST. It got crowded of course, but the bouncers were great at keeping people clear of the isles and near the tables. Not sure what else I could say about this place but definitely a spot worth checking out for any sports events.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m not just a big sports fan… I am a HUUUUUUUGE Sports Fan of all sports! Some friends wanted me to meet them at Pete’s today for the Niner game AND the Giants game both starting at 1:00pm. Took über there. The place was packed(naturally!). But the crowd was very enthusiastic and pumped… ready for a win. Ordered just bar bites, couple of platters of something called the Triple Play Platter, with Chicken strips, fried zucchini, mini corn dogs. Then of course curly garlic fries. All very unhealthy I’m sure. I had couple of beers. The food was great & company was fun. But the outcome of my two home town teams not so good. Took über back home. And no, I wasn’t crying in my beer(almost).

This review is solely on their happy hour cause, well, I’ve only been here for happy hour.(Not an alchy, I promise!) — Happy hour is from 3pm-6pm — $ 4 draft beers(comes in mason jars) or $ 16 pitchers — Half off wings and half off appetizers(corn dogs and fried zucchini) Located right across from the AT&T Park, this is a hot spot for people who want to pre-game for the Giants game. It’s also a good place to watch the game since they have TVs all over the place. Besides serving the delicious Black Butte Porter beer, their corn dogs are so tasty! I’m already looking forward to going back for more. ;)

This place is definitely a perfect place to watch sports. SO many tvs of different sizes and it’s exciting that people are pretty into the games. You will hear cheers and groans the entire time. I think I even jumped one time because I wasn’t paying attention and there was an amazing shot that led to SUDDEN loud cheers all around me… scared me but hey good atmosphere! There’s even an upstairs area that’s quieter and more isolated but no servers up there so you have to go downstairs to order. The cups there are mason jars so that was kinda cute. Our group of 6 got 3 pitchers of beer, 2 orders of fried zucchini, 2 orders of mini hot dogs, 2 orders of buffalo wings, and 1 order of garlic curly fries. We were so full afterward that that ended up being our dinner. And it was already after 6 pm but they still counted everything as HH prices bc i guess march madness? Got all the appetizers half off. Garlic curly fries aren’t supposed to be ½ off but Unilocal had a check-in deal! The bartender: «I hate those.» haha sorry? They’re all really nice and helpful though, even with the channel changing. The food was okay… pretty standard. The garlic fries were the best I think. The fried zucchini plate was SUPER salty though so I would not get that again. You feel super unhealthy afterward but that’s on you! Good atmosphere, really relaxed. I probably would save the eating for somewhere else though.
