Heard Momo’s is going to destroy Zeke’s the only original bar in the area.

We were very very happy to walk into Zeke’s unexpectedly to catch the Packers on Monday Night Football, then find out that it’s a Packers fans hangout! My fiancée is a huge Packers fan! Service here is great, $ 5 pints of beer, and some of the best looking and tasting bar food I’ve ever encountered Word on the street is that it’s closing on October 10th. Very very sad, as we’ve been looking for a Packers hangout in the Bay area. Hope this place stays open!

Terrible food, terrible service, even the beer is bad. My beer had ice in it. I did not ask for ice in my food. I ordered a beer and asked for a menu, I got the menu, but not the beer. The bartender went and started washing dishes. So I ordered food, I asked for a beer again, I got two beers. The chicken sandwich tasted like microwaved cardboard.

Mos def not a regular here. But ever since the ball park rejuvenated this area, I’ve probably ‘stumbled’ onto this place over a dozen times over the years. And in all those times, not once did I remember much. It is kinda divey but not in any scary sense. It does look like that if you were here back in the 80’s, then probably not much has changed. This is the only sports bar where they rock a large Steffi Graf poster. Who does that?! But that is exactly why I like this place. Pre-gaming here before an ATT Park outing is ideal. An Asian family seems to own/run it and they are quite efficient. You will not go thirsty here. And $ 5 pints for premium beers is just a price that will tickle anybody’s pickle, especially in this town. Trumer Pils, Speak Easy Prohibition Ale are for the taking. A couple here will cost less than one inside the park. There is also pub grub to be had here. Most things are just meh but their hot dogs seem to be legit. They are large quality ¼lbers that are grilled nicely. There are different variations. And with legit hand cut fries that come on the side, makes quite the quintessential American junk food meal. And all for about 8 bucks. «PLAYBALL»

Absolutely awful. Food was gross, service was even worse. I would never come back here again. I wish we would have just paid extra for food at the game. Worst chili dog I’ve ever had!

Poop train. Blowing chunks all night. What can u ask for in a sports bar? And why did I think the hormel chili fries would save us? Good for booze, not food.

Let’s begin with the fact that I am a die-hard UK Wildcats fan, born and bred, and was ecstatic to find a bar that was part of the Big Blue Nation. This is where the story turns. The group of «UK Fans» the frequent Zeke’s make me ashamed to be a part of the BBN. They are the least inviting, overly possessive group that freaks out over absolutely nothing. I’m sorry that it’s 2.5 hrs before game time, and I had the audacity to ask for one of the 6 TVs to be switched to a game that wasn’t on the same channel that the UK game was going to be on. Also, I didn’t know that you could waltz into a bar and ask people to move from a table that they have been at for 2 hours and say that you always sit there so we need to move. Are you an infant? Did your parents not love you or teach you about socially acceptable behavior. All in all this bar is great when it’s not a UK game. But it says a lot when the patrons are so abrasive and ignorant that a member of the same«fan base» is pushed away. Grow up, educate yourself on society, and act in a manner that would make UK proud.

hahaa, so this spot is super interesting! im not necessarily a fan of dive bars, but this spot has always intrigued me, so we stopped in last night after alchemist got too loud for my liking. it was quite popular! my friend said it’s a total giants bar, but we were there for the college bball games! cheap beers on tap, and super sweet margaritas — so dont get those. but overall a fun time! we were sitting at the bar and watching the food action… dontt order food here…

If you’re from WI, you simply must frequent Zeke’s. Packers. Brewers. Wood paneling ala West Allis. Brats, too! The service is super-friendly.

You’ll meet THE friendliest people at this bar(as long as you’re a Packers fan). The food is your standard bar food but the service is great. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the area. Oh, and the bar gets really packed during the games so come early!

Best thing about it: they cater to Packer fans! Food is okay and pricy. Cons: staff get confused and not familiar with bar tending. Mess up tabs. They dont try to relate with customers at all. They serve food and consider themselves a Grill so kids are okay by law. Called ahead and guy said«normally I would let you but not today. Cops are cracking down on us» … not okay!

This place is terrible. The owner is a drunk and has absolutely no tact. We were watching the giants game with friends and he wouldn’t let our friend in even though we had a chair waiting for him. We asked the manager whether he cared about making money, he said no, so screw him. The dudes a complete moron. If I could give negative stars I would. What a joke. The food here also sucks. Don’t even bother. GOGIANTS!

It is 4 blocks from and it looks like 4 blocks from AT&T park. This is supposed to be one of the best sports bars in SF. And I actually liked this place a lot besides its Packer Tendencies. We came here to see the 1st Giants World Series game. It wasn’t too packed. It should be packed on the days they are in town for the World Series. I got my Speakeasy IPA. I saw they had bluemoon on tap. I was eyeing the whiskeys that they had normal fair. And also saw some food that looked pretty tasty. Chili with Fries. All in all glad I finally made it to this place. I would totally recommend going again.

What’s great about Zeke’s is that it’s a Packer bar in the heart of SF! The place begins to fill with green and gold fans and that’s a beautiful thing. What sucks about Zeke’s is the staff’s incompetence and the dirtiness. I ordered a vodka and iced tea. Not the most common drink, I realize — but it was early and I couldn’t fathom a beer at 9am and I’ve even ordered this drink in Milwaukee so it can’t be that weird in a giant city like SF. The woman behind the bar just didn’t get it even after I explained to put vodka in a glass, put iced tea in a glass and include a lemon. What showed up was a tall glass of iced tea(w lemon) and a shot of vodka with a lime. Ok??? It’s really not that hard. We had to go up to bar often if we needed anything. The people around me ate right away and their 5 or 6 finished plates stayed at their tables for the ENTIRETY of the football game. That’s like 2.5 hours. I personally thinks that’s terrible customer service, laziness and complete lack of awareness as a service worker. I started with the«award winning» chili. It was ground beef, some beans and stewed(or diced) tomatoes with more fresh tomato on top and tortilla chips. Actually, it was pretty damn good! The spice level was nice. All that I hoped for was some sour cream to eat with it and the tortilla chips — but the servers were impossible to flag down. And I didn’t feel like getting up again. For the meal I had the patty melt. I liked that it was overly greasy, lots of places really grease up and fry the bread. It was strange on some plates I thought I saw pickles — but maybe not cause mine and my table didn’t get any. I had to ask for them. And the pickles were the sliced rings that only go on a burger type sandwich so I have no idea why they don’t come out with the sandwiches without asking. The condiments at the table were nearly all empty or down to less than 20% full. And just disgusting. The grease and grime — I don’t think they clean much at Zeke’s. So gross when people eat food there. Part of serving food is competing daily side work, such as checking condiment jars and wiping them down. So much work… So apparently Zeke’s just skips it. And yes, I bussed my own tables. These chicks who work there are so clueless. And the constantly drinking old white guy slamming white wines in ice all day since 9am when we walked in gets the best service cause his glass is never empty. If that’s the owner/manager he ought to be ashamed. He’s a lush and he puts himself above customers. When we went to pay our tab, they ran my friends credit card for the entire bill even though #1 she told them we’d pay cash to pay the bill #2 there was more than one person so one should ask who’s paying and how it’s being spilt. If an establishment is going to force you to put a credit card down — fine — but you still have to ask how someone wants to pay and how it’s being split. They won’t take more than one card even if 5 people are at a table. How often do you go out with friends and pay for those friends drinks and food all night/day? This staff is so ridiculous. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. And so dirty. I even saw the bartender drop her own on the floor, pick it up an use those same hands to put a line in a corona. Zeke’s uncleanliness is probably why I got sick the next day. I’d most likely try to find another place to watch the Packer game if I came back in to town.

It was a decent bar BUT… 98% of the crowd was Packers fans and I couldn’t even hear the game. Seriously, if the crowd driving your sales is drinking in stride, at least make them happy and turn the sound up. It was off-putting. They turned the other TVs to the game when the other games on the TV were done(which was awesome), but that didn’t help too much when the sound is at 50%. Rumor has it that management is not in dispute on being a Packers/49ers bar, but at least when the Packers crowd is in there with no 49er game on let’s make the majority happy. Closed my tab, and I had 4 or 5 extra drinks that I didn’t order. I was happy after the Packers win so whatever, but seriously? lol Word of advice, don’t open a tab… that was pretty ridiculous… Maybe I’ll go back. Probably, the crowd was full-on Packer-backers crammin’ the place. It was like being home in WI. They just need to step their game up, I’ve been spoiled being from the land-o-bars in Milwaukee, so maybe I expected more. But it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. Hopefully the owners see this and make some changes for the better. They could make some decent cash from Packers fans since we are heavy drinkers. That’s all from me.

Just about every new bar I’ve been to in San Francisco has seemingly tried to either tap into our subsumed zeitgeist of nostalgia, or a collective longing for authenticity. Some go for both, but mostly you seem to have places that either try to be timeworn and unique(you can usually tell these places by their Edison bulbs and«reclaimed wood, and tile, bro!» and overpriced cocktails made by «mixologists»), or kitschy and 90’slicious(with soundtracks that are either«hyphey» or «bootytastic» [I have no idea what either of those things actually represent, but I know that I don’t like them]). I’d guess thats the price I pay for living in a city where the target demographic are rich twenty and thirty-somethings, but more than once I’ve had to ask myself why its so damn hard to find a bar where I can just sit and drink heavily without feeling like my drink’s prices are directly related to how cool I think a place should be. Zeke’s doesn’t try to be anything but a sports bar. I like that. I like the crappy fluorescent lighting and the acoustic tile on the ceiling, that their best whiskey is a Maccallan 12, and that all of their draft beers are under five dollars, and that you can get a shot of tequila for two dollars during happy hour. I like that their food is cheap, that every burger comes with fries, and their Spicy Thai Chicken is good. I like that the service is efficient, and unpretentious, and designed to get you your overpoured and underpriced drink as quickly as possible. I like the wooden walls, and the fake wood of the bar, and the mirrored bar-back straight from my grandfather’s favorite diner. Mostly, I like that this is a place where everyone can come, and everyone does. Businessmen after work, Giants fans before baseball games, young and old, the hungry and the thirsty, the rich and the poor. They all come here for the cheap drinks, and to talk, and to relax, and to watch sports on no less then 16 screens. Its a nice change from the other bars in this area, from the other bars in this city of pretension and projection, where everything is a facsimile, and everyone tries too hard to be hip. Zeke’s is a throwback, solid oak in a bakelite world, a wonderfully authentic experience in the increasingly contrived world of Bay Area bars, a window into the gritty, egalitarian City of the past.

Stopped in after a Giants’ game. Only food being offered was Pot Stickers. Asked the bartender if they were house made. She said they were homemade at the other bartender’s house. Then she pulled a bag of frozen pot stickers from the grocery store out and cooked us up a batch. Right in front of us. My friend asked her why the homemade pot stickers came frozen from the grocery store. She stuck with the homemade story. The frozen pot stickers tasted good, but why make up the story? Moments later she is filling 4 different pints of beer. One came out foamy, so her solution was to fill another beer short and scoop the foam from the foamy beer into the slightly short filled beer. They weren’t even the same beer! She did this to save the expense of no more than 2 oz. of beer. Super cheap. Not going back.

A nice, non-crowded bar(except after Giants games). Sports on the TV, some tables, and tasty looking bar food(which I haven’t tried yet). Service is actually quite attentive and friendly. Doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t. Is good at what it does — a nice, regular bar. I’m glad it’s here.

I dropped in here literally for 5 minutes to get 5 sweet tea shots(for our party of 5) right before heading to a Rockies vs. Giants game. The price was right(cheap) and service was quick. It was busy inside before the game was starting but it was manageable. The bar food I saw them serving looked pretty good – probably just straight up bar food-esque taste. I might come back here before a ball game if there’s no where else to go. Right before coming here, I was at a bar right next door called Koi Samui and The Monkey, a Thai restaurant. That was a cool spot because they had happy hour(5PM-7PM) before the game started. I got some yummy Thai food and cheap drinks. So, going to these 2 restaurants in succession may be a good idea if you’re party is somewhat big(8 – 10) and you’re looking for a place that will easily accommodate this amount of people.
