Rock Hard

I’ve been to a few toy shops here and there but this one by far is my FAVORITE! They have the best realistic toys in stock and a wide variety of lube stored in the back (Uberlube is where it’s at). However I must add that Freddy and Ty made my experience there most memorable — genuine service and over all kind people. This place is a must have experience for all people!

Don’t let them ring up your card by accident twice cause trying to get the money back is impossible. Some dude working there will say he doesn’t see the duplicate charge and will not reverse the charge. Shop here with great caution.

I have been coming here regularly for several years now. Great place to buy lubes, dildos, plugs, and any supplies for weekend long (or week day) fun. And not to mention the great people working there.

I choose this store over others in the city because the people who work here are always so helpful and willing to answer my questions. Other places downtown, like good vibes, don’t give me the same cheery and helpful response like the boys at Rock Hard. I go in every couple of weeks, usually on Saturdays and Ian and Don always make me laugh and help me every which way they can (without overwhelming me)

When all hope seemed lost (3 other shops were closed or closing), on VALENTINE’S DAY!!! Rock Hard was still open for business! Not only were they still open, but a gentleman by the name of Ian was working and he was extremely friendly and helpful. He offered great guidance and we appreciated his knowledge. This place has quite the array of products and I would encourage anyone to go take a look!

Often they have the best price on lube here, though some brands Does Your Mother Know is cheaper, just check. The isles here are small as the space is small. Good selection though.

Pretty much have anything u need here from the most vanilla things to the hard core stuff. Fun place with tons of variety, and not geared specifically to women which is nice. I also like how the staff can be helpful when you want them to help but if you just want to look and do your own thing they don’t bother you either. Neat place, if ur in the Castro worth checking out ;)!

You can find the tool for any job in here. :) They offer many sizes and shapes to get the job done.

I love this store, its employees, and its location. I come from the east bay periodically to stock up on certain things in SF that one can only find in the city. And I always make it a point to come to this store because not only is there such a wide and varied selection of products, but I’m also put at ease by the matter-​of-​fact and non-​judgmental way in which Rock Hard’s employees treat me. I’m not completely out and at times I struggle with my own sexuality, however this place always makes me feel welcome and the help I receive makes me feel comfortable in my own skin. I really like the the weekend crew — the guys at night, I think their names are Ian and Daniel. They are very cool and have no problem discussing products and helping me find what I want, they should be phycologists lol. Prices are also very decent if not lower than their neighborhood competitors.

Great place. I came here with my good friend, Linda the Great. How great is she? She’s so great, she makes Alexander the Great, look like Alexander the Wuss! Her Greatness has lived in the Bay Area all her life, but had never been to the Castro! What? So we called Über and told the driver to take us to the Castro! We wandered around window shopping and then walked into Rock Hard. They have a huge inventory of stuff!!! I told the shopkeeper that I wanted a flogger. Huh? He immediately took us to the floggers. I needed a birthday present for my boyfriend RJ. RJ has everything, well almost everything. He doesn’t have a flogger. What’s a flogger? Go see Fifty Shades of Grey! Hehehe! Anyway, I found a nice one at a wonderful price. When I was checking out, our wonderful shopkeeper asked if I had a bag (San Fran charges 10 cents for bags). I said I did and took a white plastic bag out of my purse. He put the flogger into it, but you could still see what it was. Yikes! I asked what bags he had. He said that first timers, get a clear plastic bag! Haha! We had a good laugh. Then he put the flogger into a brown paper bag and said the bag was on the house! Yay!

One might wonder… With similar stores nearby, why rock hard? Well. I browsed all of them but felt the most comfortable in this store. I felt totally comfortable asking the guy running the store about different products and he was totally helpful on more than one occasion. I never felt rushed while looking at all the products. The prices are better than competitors and the store layout is a well lit environment. Rock hard will have me as a returning customer!

Dildos. Lots of dildos. And sex stuff. And more dildos.

Came here when my friend had art on sale here years ago. His art was beautiful and erotic, not graphic, and it fit right in.
This store is still attractive, and the staff, for the most part, are good if not excellent in helping you.
For those looking, this is the place to look.

Quite Necessary indeed. Browsed in this shop several times with my mates & staff were friendly and helpful. This shop is geared more towards gay men who have an idea of wot they are looking for. Of all the Sex Shops in the Castro, this is my favourite.

He was so sweet! We talked about movies and what was out in theaters now! He was also very helpful!

Thank you to James who works here for making my guest from out of town have a memorable experience when he visited San Francisco for Folsom Street Fair. I had given him a harness and some paraphernalia but he needed some tiny briefs to complete his attire. .
He bought one pair and it was too small. We went back the next day and he tried on several. Finally he found a pair of leather ones that fit. Seriously, James and the other staff there were so nice and helpful. You made a great impression on a visitor from Oklahoma. You made a great impression on someone who lives here — me. Thank you so much!

i didn’t actually wander in looking for anything in particular, but seeing their HUGE selection of stuff put me in awe. hah.

Very nice staff, adequate leather goods and toys. This is another place I like to browse and see if I’m shocked at what I discover.
My friend found a great leather belt and I have to hand it to them that their belt selection is nice.
Will definitely be back to see if anything new pops up.
