I love Netta. She is a colorist professional. Went out of my comfort zone with a lavender color. Turned out perfect, I get compliments everyday! Thank you Netta you’re a superstar.

Getting the Groupon for a balayage & trim was one of the best deals I ever got! I gave her a shot & she took me in at 7:30pm! Yes you read that right! Even with a deal, she treats all clients equally & during the sessions she listens to what you want. She also didn’t rush or do a crumby job at all! I gave her a Holiday gift aside from a tip cuz my «normal» stylist went MIA in SF… I live in Bernal so coming here would be nice if my hard schedule ever permits. In addition, she doesn’t push the sales of any items like other salons or «forces» a future appointment which is a huge plus in my book cuz I’ve dealt with that too many times before. She is also honest about lots of things & is so kind. Give her a go! Also the time of my hair took just 1.5 to 2 hours instead of 3 with fabulous results.

Came by last Saturday to get my bangs touched up. I got there at 5:30 but they were already closed up for the night. Unilocal and their website says they close at 6 on Saturdays so might be a good idea to call ahead just to check and make sure they are open if you are going right before closing. I still like going here to get my bangs done between cuts.

Taura did an amazing haircut once again :-) I don’t trust my hair with too many people, (actually I cut my own hair and Taura is the only person I’m confident will do a great job with my hair). Taura always does an Amazing job and I know because I always get compliments when I go to her! I live in San Jose and traveled to San Francisco to see her and love her chair right by the window at Salon V! Parking was easy plus I always love great conversations while getting a haircut! As of 3÷17÷15 was asked to remove the review I wrote. I only did so out of respect for the person who asked me to take it down. My opinions have not and will not waiver.
(Any review I write is of my own opinion. If I happen to give an establishment a 3 star or below rating, I ALWAYS visit that establishment multiple times before I finally sit down and write the review — unless the service was terribly unbearable. This is just my process which will also not change.)

Trying a new hairdresser can be exciting and a little scary at times. I walked into salon v today for a new hairstyle. I was very pleased with the whole experience.
Taura was the nice pretty girl that cut my hair today. I only have good things to say about this place. Very accommodating and friendly service. I will be getting cut here from now on.

Just got out of another AMAZING haircut experience with Meghan! She’s still the best out there!!!

Salon V is an unpretentious salon conveniently located in Cow Hollow. I was in much need of an haircut so I contacted Sofia and she was very accommodating. It is great she works on Sundays! This was probably the fastest haircut I have ever had and as it was the first time I was seeing Sofia I was a little nervous about the final result but it looks great! Exactly as I wanted. If you are looking for a reasonable priced, fast and great looking haircut I would strongly recommend Sofia.

This review is for Meghan Doyle. I was referred to her by a good friend who was also a stylist. I have yet to find ‘my stylist’ and have been unhappy with recent cuts. As soon as I arrived to the salon, Meghan’s welcoming disposition and willingness to hear my hair woes, instantly put me at ease. I left with hair 6 inches shorter and confidence a few inches higher! Affordable, swift and skilled; I highly recommend Meghan for your future cut!

I’ve been bouncing between stylists for years, usually leaving with not quite what I wanted or lacklustre results. After losing hope in the hair industry altogether, Meghan Doyle stole my heart and my hair. This woman is a miracle worker.
I previously had brown hair with red streaks and ran some colour lifter through it before I went to see Meghan, so picture a brassy orange bleach looking blonde with pastel pink patchy sections. Fun fact: red dyed on blonde turns pink, and stays pink. Unwilling to consider mourning my dreams of being a Carrie Underwood blonde before they began, Meghan suggested some different methods and was very communicative and honest with her proposed treatments. Any other stylist would’ve looked at my hair, looked at their watch and said «Yeah, you’re going dark today.»
She tried a few different methods to lift the relentless pink stain. It would barely budge with the strongest batch of peroxide. After talking and testing, she ended up doing the most elaborate highlight/​lowlight job I’ve ever seen. She placed beautiful light highlights in the parts that were salvaged and strategically placed lowlights to cover the pink — filling in any unfoiled hair with a medium stain. It was pure hair magic.
The cut was great, and Meghan was very helpful in giving guidance on future haircare and ways to prevent further damage. She also forbade my from dying my own hair ever again. I’ll take that advice to the grave.
I walked out hours later with BEAUTIFUL blonde hair and a whole lot of confidence. I’ve received countless compliments on my new look and I couldn’t be happier.
I only wish I had more stars to give. She’s a great person with mad skills in the salon chair. Thanks Meghan!

When I reach that point where my it becomes troubling trying to contain my hair and it grows to the point where I develop a mini curly afro, I know it is time for a hair cut. For a stylish haircut that I seek, I go to Meghan!
She did my hair a few months back and I was very happy with the results. She does great cuts for men as she has cut and styled my hair as well as a friend’s hair. She makes you feel welcomed and is there to do a good job to make you look good. My girlfriend also is a client of hers and has done fabulous work on her hair. From the awesome shampoo and conditioning she starts with to the end of your haircut, you will be satisfied with he result and leave your hair feeling awesome.
Definitely worth making an appointment with if you need a haircut. Highly recommend her for both women and men.

My hair stylist moved here a few months ago and I HAD to follow her. Gentlemen, go see Meghan for an awesome cut. Ladies, go see her too. I’ve seen some of the work on her girly clients and they look damn fine when shes done with them.
Seriously, don’t know what I would have done without this awesome gal.

Salon V knocks it out of the park every time! I have been coming here for about 2 years now and the owner, Tina, has been taking great care of my precious locks. Tina is so sweet and she always caters to my ever changing styles. She listens to what Im asking for and helps me come up with a finished look. At least ten times Ive left thinking it was the best haircut of my life… no joke! She keeps topping her last cut!
I think the price is fair for a mens cut, fifty bucks. Ive paid more for less in Union Square. Tina is also very quick. Im in and out in no time, which is a treat.
I highly recomend Tina’s services, she always makes my day!

I needed to book an appointment at the last minute because another stylist I had been seeing for the last three months did a really TERRIBLE job on my last cut and I couldn’t stand looking at it one day longer. I called and Tina was able to get me in with Jon as my stylist less than two hours later.
Let me just tell you that I have moved around to many different cities and used many salons and my experience with Jon today was the BEST. He had such a genuine, engaging personality without being too overbearing. Jon gave me the best shampoo scalp massage I have ever had in my life– and could have easily gone to sleep.
For a Mens’ cut, he spent almost an hour (which I appreciated the time he took to cut my hair). Jon has a great attention to detail and used a variety of different hair cutting tools to thin out my overly thick hair and did a great job taking off the bulk. I am SO happy with how my hair turned out and look forward to returning back to Salon V to see Jon in the future.

Tina Balog the owner does a really outstanding job cutting and coloring hair. She really listens to your needs and translates it into amazing results– my hair always looks fabulous.
She also is really wonderful to talk with and it is a pleasure to come to her salon.
Jon is also excellent and is truly a maestro in hair design, coloring and cutting. I highly recommend Salon V.

Sofia works super fast. She did partial highlights, wash, cut, blow-​dry, and style all in under an hour!
I also got the KGB deal and got all this for a pretty good price.
CONs:
You need to know EXACTLY what you want.
I was hoping for one of those consultations where I walk in with no ideas but just want a big change, and the hairdresser says «you have a great face for XYZ and I think it will look fantastic on you! I know just exactly what to do with your hair type.» Instead she didn’t really have any ideas for me and awkwardly suggested we look at some fashion magazines, and we did that for a while. She did think a pixie cut would look nice on me (after I pushed her a little for a suggestion) but she really didn’t have enough enthusiasm to convince me and that’s a huge change from my long hair that’s never been shorter than chin length. Basically everything I suggested, she just agreed and said that would look nice on me. I’d like a little more in the way of an opinion than that!
Also, Sofia doesn’t have any colors beyond the blond to brown range. I had mentioned red on the phone and she never said she doesn’t have that. I was thinking even purple or something crazy, and I can understand someone not having that type of color, but I thought red was pretty standard!
In the end, I was still satisfied with my highlights + cut, even though none of it was what I was expecting. I did absolutely nothing drastic; I just got my hair cut a few inches with slight layering (basically the same haircut as before). Sofia had a walk in appointment in the middle of our «consultation» and was able to take care of both of us within an hour.

Jon is truly a master colorist and stylist.
You’re at that place in your life where, to quote L’oreal «you’re worth it». You book an appointment with Jon. Walking in you have no idea that soon you will be striking, mysterious and exotic (okay, maybe not those words but you will look GOOD).
You’re eyes will be suddenly piercing beneath your newly tinted eyebrows (Just ask him and he will tint to match your hair color).
You began the day as, perhaps, a mousey two-​toned maid and you leave a raven, ginger or flaxen haired vixen. You will never color your own hair again, that is now Jon’s job.
On the long walk home all you can do is swing your silky, shiny hair and smile.

Michelle was friendly, listened to my needs, and got me in and out of there fast!!! I have A LOT of hair… she cut, dried and styled my hair in just over an hour. Phenomenal! I’ll definitely be going back.
