Sean’s Laundromat

The only place I found that has washers and dryers that take credit card! Pretty clean place and the machines look pretty new. Was very happy with the wash. A little pricey but that’s to be expected since they do take credit card. Not much more than other coin only places– I’d say only .25 or .50 cents more.

Dammit. I walked by this place daily for two years, but never brought my laundry here, because it was a longer schlep than my apartment to the Noe & Market Laundromat. Which went out of business last week.
So I came here instead. And there are more machines, bigger machines, cheaper, and open longer.
I want about $ 90 in quarters and two years of my life back…

I came here today because the washing machine in my apartment is broken and our cheap landlord is dragging her feet on getting it fixed.
This place is great! Nice clean machines, everything relatively new and operational. Many of the machines take cards, how great is that? Prices are totally reasonable and it is conveniently located. ⁵⁄₅ would come again.

tl;dr: A clean, convenient place run and staffed by amazing people who have gone above and beyond to keep me coming back for a very long time!
Moving from Texas where I always lived in a place with a washer and drier, I somewhat dreaded having to deal with laundromats. Most require you to hoard change that you only end up forgetting once you’ve made it to the laundromat, not to mention most make you feel like your clothes will end up dirtier than before you washed them. Sean’s is a rare exception to these scenarios with it’s credit card accepting machines and incredibly clean facilities. Even after hearing horror stories of people’s clothes being stole out of machines, I have never felt like I needed to babysit my clothes. With great food places (Jasmine Garden in particular) right nearby, you can run over and grab a bite to eat while you are waiting for your clothes to be done.
While I cannot stress how nice these things are, it is the people that work at Sean’s that really have me coming back every time I need to do my laundry. The family that cleans the laundromat every night (and it shows), are the sweetest people ever. They have let me in to get my clothes right at closing time with a smile on their faces and did not rush me out or give me a hard time. On top of this, last week I was in doing laundry that has accumulated much longer than I should’ve let it. When I walked in, I found out that the credit card machines were down. While disappointed, I know it happens and so I ended up using the change machine and went on my merry way. When it was time to start drying my clothes I had set up the first load to dry, put in about 20 minutes worth of money and started the machine. When I hit the start button it looked like the machine was malfunctioning and it just so happened that one of the owners walked in to post about the credit card feature not working and that they were working hard to get it fixed. I asked her if she knew what might be the problem and said that I noticed the timer going down but the machine not doing anything. She attempted to see if she could get it fixed and when she couldn’t she said that she would get me setup at a different machine. When I moved my clothes over to another machine, she ended up putting enough money in the machine for the 60 minutes that I was going to originally going to do myself. Happy, I then went to move my second load to a different drier to which she noticed and ended up completely paying for that one too. I could not thank her enough, her response was that she knows doing laundry is a hassle already and dealing with extra is not needed. She also apologized about the card readers if I had intended to use them. I ended up telling her that I live directly above a laundromat, but I haul my clothes to Sean’s because of the cleanliness and the credit card machines. I also added that as long I was in this neighborhood, I would not go anywhere else to wash my clothes. And that is completely true.

Yep, it’s true. I’ve been to countless laundromats over the last 15 years and this definitely is the nicest and cleanest one so far. All the machines are new and powerful and some of them take credit cards. It’s right next to a pizza place and across the street there are Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants and even a bar (Churchill). Or you can hop in to Safeway real quick when your clothes are in the wash like I always do. And the people who come in at night to close up shop are extra nice also.

When I walked into this place, I thought, «this is the nicest, most futuristic laundromat I have ever seen». The machines are brand new, take credit cards, and the place was spotless. I honestly couldn’t believe it was real.

Sean’s is very clean, they take credit card and there aren’t any «questionable San Franciscans» there. You don’t have to love doing laundry and Sean’s is a place to make it bearable.
